here are some fun facts!

-montana has the second largest grizzly bear population of any US state, second only to alaska, which is like so not fair comparatively. but that's not the only big game they got- they also got wolves, and antelope, and bears, and sturgeon, and badgers, and moose, and fucking BISON

-hilariously the etymology of the name is spanish despite it being one of the northern most western states. it's from montaña. ur never gonna guess what that word translates to

-if you like gambling you're in luck! just stop by a gas station and 99% of the time you got yourself a whole ass slot machine at your disposal!

-glacier national park rules. this is one of the main reasons i chose montana for you- it's absolutely unreal how gorgeous it is, it's like it was crafted to be a default desktop wallpaper for windows 11 (<- a compliment). it's hard to describe the feeling of driving on a road that's right off the edge of a mountain, under an actively-melting glacier that's creating a waterfall that you can literally just reach out and drink from, and then look out over a forested valley and see big ass sheep and elks wandering around. it's seriously the platonic ideal of Nature

-there's only about a million people in this whole state so i hope you like a lot of personal space!

-idk how into hatwear you are but feel free to pick yourself up a real deal cowboy hat now that you're an honorary montanan. they're so ubiquitous i'm surprised they don't give you one for free once you cross the border

-people loooooove fishing out here, particularly fly fishing, to get at those delicious, temptuous trouts. also skiing, because boy howdy are there lots of mountains in the state named "mountain"

-also huckleberries. huckleberries are the hot shit up here and they love injecting that flavor into whatever they can
