general sorta statement for this image but holy shit i so love the expressions sukuna gets in this damn series. he's having *fun* he's playing a game he's smiling and grinning about it this is all toys to him and you can see that nearly every moment he's depicted (until later in shinjuku at least or whenever he's truly being challenged, and even then half the time he's got a grin on). it's very fun 2 me

his ass is NOT alive i still think it's so insane gojo never fucking told him this until after he himself died good lord. meg lived his entire life believing his father was out there but didn't care enough about him or his sister to come back to them. while that's sorta true (toji only kinda cared. i believe he wasn't a total deadbeat because he tried to give megumi a chance he didn't ever have in the zen'in clan because he knew meg would be able to make it there and that counts for Something even if he's still a huge ass imo) it'd at least be a different kind of relief knowing the truth im sure, if only gojo told him. alas.

HELLO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! i love shoko a lot i really really do, she's so!!! girlie was the secret backbone of the story istg, she carries so much weight all for so little acknowledgement. and the way people always forget that she and gojo (and geto) were/are friends always pisses me off so much!!! stop leaving her out of this she was affected by getos betrayal too!!!!! just because she wasn't part of the star plasma mission does not mean she wasn't friends w those two!!!!

her little bio page isn't actually right next to her introduction in the book but i moved the pic up so i could talk abt her all in 1 section of this (it'd be between the kenjaku+jogo convo and the "we'll see something interesting" pannel if i left it where it was). i love that she speedran medschool because she can just use rct on people that's so fucking funny of her. i hope they're paying her 1million dolalrs for her contribution to society. i wonder what made her quit smoking... we don't really know all that happened between 2007 (when gojo presumably aquired megumi after geto dissents) and 2017 (jjk 0). either way good for her, she means the world to me. ik she picks it back up during shibuya but oghh.. i love her so much

i feel like i remember seeing SOMETHING in some interview or extra content somewhere about how and why megumi came to respect yuta in the year he's known him (since yuta only entered the world of jujutsu in his first year and he's a second year now) but i can't for the life of me remember what it was. either way iii think it's neat. he doesn't respect maki in my mind because they're like cousins to me and they brawl like cousins sometimes do. i think about those 2 a lot, two zen'in outcasts for entirely opposite reasons.

What Do You Mean "Boss". i think abt this sometimes, i wonder if it's just a mistake on geges part where they intended to give the nature curses a leader other than kenjaku or if this is supposed to be him taking a guess at jogos goals but idk. it's weird it's something to rotate in my mind something to chew on. bc like it feels like jogo at least is acting on his own desires for this "become the true humans" mission, mahito feels like he's just here to fuck around, and hanami has their goal of giving nature more time since humans keep brutalizing nature and killing it. dagon is a baby it's just following the others around. and kenny could give less of a shit, he just wants to be able to use the others to complete his plans with tengen.

i wonder! what the hell made sukuna so invested in megumi from this One fight they had!!! was it the energy he carried when he tried to pull mahoraga? because it is an inherited technique, surely he could've known what he was capable of if he knew of Ten Shadows from the heian era since gojo later confirms that mahoraga has likely been summoned before. but maybe he doesn't know abt it idk!! idk, it's interesting. he doesn't really understand raga when he fights it in shibuya so he probably doesn't fully understand the technique even if he knows about it.

oggghh the way he's saying this to shoko who Knows how deep his trauma surrounding the combo of children and the jujutsu world goes. rikos death and getos resulting betrayal shook this fucking guy 2 his core so bad that it gave him a purpose for the first time in his life. i don't remember where it says this, i think in the airport, but gojo never lived and did what he did for any particular reason. i think he only gained one after riko passed and he started actually trying to earn his role as Strongest. the youth that was taken from her, from haibara, from geto and himself and nearly megumi is what he fights for. making a better world for those younger than himself because he's seen the how the world beats down on kids in/because of this side of life(sorcery) is his whole thing and im sooo ill abt it. jsyk.

visions of shinjuku appear before me. shudders. this hakari looks soo different from how gege later draws him it's rly funny how early designs always look kinda off lol. u see this in mahitos first appearance in this book too but i didn't feel like putting it in the post.

always thought him wearing a womans kimono was such a fun choice. as a queer person of course it makes me think of potential implications regarding his views on gender and gender presentation. i think he reflects the thoughts of his time, casually viewing women as inferior and such due to some dialogue of his, but i think presentation and honestly gender itself isn't something he gives a shit about. despite how i think he treats women i don't think he discriminates too differently one gender to the other, he's dogged on men too. he presents very masculine because that's what he's comfortable in, but he wears womens clothing because it's also comfortable, but rather physically than in a sense of gender presentation. the rules society have around gender don't matter to him because he's fucking sukuna and he does what he wants. he also hangs around uraume despite them clearly being a very androgynous person, so it's not like he discriminates as long as people fall into line with what he wants. he makes his own rules from the ground up, preconceived societal expectations be damned.

also taking the opportunity to say it here bc this drawing is a great example of it, but GOD i adore geges artstyle so fucking much. the pen they use is super fun whatever it is, thick spot at the start and scratchy with a lot of line weight variation. it's rough in a sketchy kinda way but it's still refined and neat yk? i fuck with it heavy.

this page is so cutes. i love early lighthearted interactions i missed them the further we got into the story. i wonder how gojo knew he'd learn sukunas technique by sharing a body with him!! i wonder if this is a known phenomenon in the jujutsu world, of if you inhabit someone elses body their body can inherit your technique, since they used this in switch training too ^^ it's inchresting
