Runaan was pretty hurt in S7. Here's how I know:

He's loud about it. Everything he's feeling just comes right out of his mouth. He's carrying wounds of battle, hours of torture, days of privation, and years of psychological torment around with him. It's nearly impossible to keep all that suffering to himself when all he wants to do is go home to his husband.

Which makes his ability to shut the fuck up and stymie Viren

all the more impressive.
