Gnawing deeply on the Juice bullet club heel turn problem for my fic. Part of the problem (and this may just be a 'me' thing, so scroll on if you loved this storyline) -- is I always found it hard to buy Juice's motivations for the 2022 Bullet club turn. Part of that too is that I found "ROCK HARD!!!1!!!" Juice Robinson to not...really fit, somehow. The whole narrative of "I fucked over my best friend of many years for the dude who broke my hand because uhhh fame and belt I guess" just didn't really jibe for me. A lot of it is I think Juice is a natural sillyman performer. This was true in his chipper jester-like face persona, and I think is also true for his AEW heel persona. Once it's clear we're not supposed to take him too seriously, it's easier for me at least to enjoy his performance.

The other part of this (and I think connected to this) -- is Juice is, surprisingly, a guy I want to have a bit of a soft spot for. And like, by all accounts what he did to Finlay was a bastard move!! Really terrible! Only the problem is (a) I don't think he's a credible bastard at all really and (b) like honestly love him to death but Jay sucked a LOT at this point in time and gave Juice a real laundry list in the past of reasons to dislike him.

So like, I think there is absolutely something juicy (hah!) that I can thread together in Juice's "almost quit wrestling in early 2022 and Jay came for him in a moment of weakness" -- but I am also still looking at him like "ok really tho you left Debbie for THIS guy?? this guy??"
