not to be an ad supporter and I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I love the tumblr desktop vibes right now. the annoying Y2K sticker that won't disappear. the tv background. the ancient windows 97 toolbar. can i keep it?

cruel summer was extremely fucked up. omg, mind-blowing, and just brutal! 馃く damn, just wow idk i feel some type of way in the pit of my stomach. ugh.
if i'm being honest, i was more disgusted by isabella (is that even her name?) than I was with jeanette turner back in s1. i believed in her. i really believed she hadn't seen or heard kate and everything that happened afterwards wasn't something fair or deserved. i also didn't want to believe isabella was the one who had killed luke and that megan's backlash or other things involved weren't justified.
taking into account isabella's behaviors, actions, and how blase and nonchalant she was about the other horrid shit she had done. she had no remorse whatsoever. such things like lisa, her brother and isabella's ex who stopped by, and some other minor and major things/events such as trying to corrupt megan, causing trouble with friends, and shit making her questionable, and sure, she had motives but it doesn't make it right.
luke wasn't an angel but didn't deserve to straight up die. especially how he was in the circumstances, bleeding from a gunshot, physically hurt, and drowned. the facts are she was an extremely jealous, possessive, impulsive yet charming, and a little bit emotionally unstable and while i really wanted to like her, i never was able to connect with that like i did with jeanette in s1. seeing the big reveal, it made me rethink everything we knew about her character and while it makes sense, it's also unfortunate and bittersweet for everyone involved. i do believe Isabella did care about megan but had a terrible way of showing it. she was ultimately there for a good time, but not a long time. when the going got tough she got going and left megan in the lurch and wreckage. megan was left with a broken heart, a bruised rep, no money, no job, a ruined life, no college, no friend/boyfriend in luke because she let him die, and no closure. she was lucky to have the silver lining in the final moments of the finale which was good. this could be a good thing. guess we'll never know that.
also, what is megan going to do with the information regarding luke's true death? when i tell her she looked like she was having an emotional breakdown. while i've been eh about megan my heart breaks for her and fuckin' isabella or whoever she wants to call herself now is gonna start over doing the same damn shit? no. she can't get away with it, not forever. have we forgotten how much of a whiz megan is with computers? she's probably on the dark web and she's been badly burned a lethal combination. isabella should really watch her back, and what she says, because megan is coming for her and this time just maybe there will be justice, the truth is inevitable to come out it always does.

////the wilds s1 spoilers//// pls send me asks so I can keep rambling about this just listen okay
Harley Keener will have Shelby's storyline with the internalized homophobia from the south. He's not really friends with Gwen, only really knows her in passing, maybe had a few classes together when they were kids. Harley's helpful to the team because he has hunting knowledge, knows how to forage a little bit from old summer camps. He tends to make jokes out of the situation, tries to make others smle or laugh, but he's defensive and secretive and he struggles to work with others. He's brash and most of his jokes don't land because it's hard to joke about the trauma they're currently enduring, but he tries.
Gwen Stacy's (AKA Dot) mom passed away when she was young, leaving her with her police officer dad who gets hurt in the line of field. His injury leaves him awfully sick, unable to take care of himself, so Gwen devotes all of her time and energy into taking care of her father. Gwen also knows how to hunt, how to handle a weapon, how to help the injured.
Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang are inseparable. Cassie's quiet and kind and smart. She just had her dad as well, her dad's job left her pretty much alone though. Taken care of by neighbors and babysitters and family. She spends a lot of time at camps like the one they're supposed to be going to. Her dad makes solid money, so she's always being sent away, but she learns to enjoy it.
Kate takes on a sort of Rachel storyline, in which she plans to be a gymnast until she's told she isn't good enough. She's lost without the thing that she spent her whole life pursuing, the thing that made her different, the thing that made her her. She's a good swimmer/hiker/etc. which is how she makes herself helpful.
Harry and Flash become best friends the minute they meet on the plane. They had similar histories with cruel father and absent or pushovers for mothers. They both had all this pressure on them to be the best of the best.
Flash is a bit of a priss which is why most people are against him at the start, they think he isn't trying hard enough for survival, won't put everything on the line for anyone, not even himself. But he packed a lot, which comes in handy. And he shares everything he has, too. His clothes to keep everyone warm at night, his food for rations, his lighter, his emergency kit, anything he can to help.
Harry is hard to get along with as well but instead because of his skepticism of everyone, his anger, his brashness, his blunt honesty. Flash appreciates it and so does MJ, but people like Cassie and Peter and Ned, the optimists, they don't fit as well together. Harry got himself into a bad situation, not long before the summer, which causes his innate skepticism to be more dangerous than ever. (our Leah character)
Wanda is our Jeanette. She's the eyes on the island (for the first day anyway). She's the spy. After her brother died, she went off the deep end and when she offered this position to help out, to escape reality, to make some good money, and to help try and fix the broken world that killed her brother, she jumps on it. Too bad things go wrong, huh.
Ned's also solo on the trip, not in a pair like everyone else. People are skeptical of him, but he's such a sweetheart that it's hard to voice their skepticism. He's the Martha of the group. Lives in a bit of a fantasy world, sees the good in everyone, loves and gives and is so positive that it angers others in what seems like a hopeless situation. He's the glue that holds the team together.
The last pair is MJ and Peter.
MJ's a little skeptical which is why she gets along with Harry, but she doesn't use it as a weapon, just curiosity and silent puzzle solving. She doesn't make many friends. Keeps to herself, keeps a running journal with doodles and in depth writing. Gwen, the girl who likes to take care of everyone, can't seem to find a way to take care of MJ, until she lets herself just sit in silence with her. It's easy and simple and beautiful.
And finally Peter. So hurt by the world, someone who should be absolutely devastated after the deaths of his parents and his uncle, the trauma of Skip and struggling so much with money, the homophobia he faces. But he's so good. So inherently good. And it's hard not to fall for the brash, funny, strong southerner.
y'all I'm so excited to start writing this please send me asks so I can keep talking about it all the time
