True that. So much.
Also I have a problem with Ed "not killing anyone". A big one. Cause "fire killed those guys" is bullshit. Obviously. And it's not a nice death so he is pretty vicious and cold-hearted bastard, let's be clear.
And the way he uses Izzy in the same way as he uses fire is even worse.
Everybody always goes on about how Iz is manipulating Ed and how he is either the best or worst manipulator in the world (hint - if he was such a cold-hearted violent genius manipulator and Ed his sweet innocent not-having-a-single-clue victim, Ed would be missing a leg, not Iz... I mean, srsly 💁🙈🙉 )
Anyway, I wanted to talk about Ed. I mean it *could* be viewed as him being the cold-hearted manipulator. As in: Ed doesn't want to *hands-on* directly kill ppl but "luckily" there's a set of very capable hands on a person who cares about him deeply. So he just lets said person know how killing ppl makes him feel very bad ...
I mean, killing ppl makes most of the ppl feel bad. At least the first few kills I'd guess.
As Ed's luck would have it, the before mentioned person already hates themselves pretty much, doesn't feel worthy of Ed's attention, but would do anything to 1.) earn any positive points and 2.) make Ed's life better.
Lucky coincidence 👍👍😁
I love how their characters were written for majority of the show. So many facets to explore. Ed has sides that make me almost sick with disgust but also is the sweetest cutest babygirl the next minute.
(he is the only male person/character I've repeatedly titled "babygirl". Ever! )
Izzy's story is actually so wild when you think about it like. Imagine there's this guy and he's your captain but you're also a little bit in love with him and you've been with him for thirty years only recently bro's been hella depressed but y'all are pirates so like. There's shit you have to do. So it's your job to make sure he's alive and whatever and you're the only other person in the world who knows that he doesn't actually kill people, it's just smoke and mirrors, so you're trying to maintain it best you can and you're killing people for him because if not you'll both die and then one day your boss-husband or whoever is like. Hey. Heard there's some English officers or whatever around and you're like, cool, easy money, so you're on this island with The Boyz and this absolute weirdo of a guy steals back one of his hostages but deadass gives you one?? And leaves?? So you go back to the ship and you're like. Hey boss. Guess what happened. And THEN he's like okay I need to meet this guy. And he's getting more and more obsessed with him while you watch and long story short you have to save his crew from the Spanish, and then YOUR crew dies, and you're like okay husband-boss can we go home now. But NOPE you're on this ship and in the span of like two weeks he tells you he's gonna kill the guy but then straight up falls in love with him?? And you're like. Right There. So your boss can't kill the guy and you're like, okay, another mess to clean up, I know how to to do this, so you stab him, but then your sword gets stuck in your mast and your boss-husband-captain of thirty years kicks you off the ship for a guy he met TWO WEEKS AGO?? No offense but like I'd sell his boyfriend out to the English too If I was him. What

I have a general comment to make about the whole Sebastian thing, not on the Instagram picture, because it is not my place to comment, but a general comment about dealing with racism in the fandom, and some of the behavior I have seen on Tumblr.
I have a story to share first and it's not really related to fandoms, or shipping Sambucky or even Sebastian Stan directly but it's about how White people see racism, so I hope some people will read this and think about it.
I just want to say one thing... if you want to comment this, please read until the end before you do.
And please bear in mind that I'm not talking for anybody else but only my own experience and my opinion.
I see a lot of people get defensive when racism is called out in the fandom, whether it is them or a celebrity they love, and a lot of them try to deny it, or try to find excuses.
I understand why they do it, but it's really not the right way. The correct way is to sit down, listen, think about it and THEN only then can you deny or accept the accusations.
Here’s the story:
I was once with my group of friends and I don't know what prompted the question but they asked me if I thought all White people were racist. And you can guess it, I'm the only Black woman in my group of friends. We're all French and 5 of my friends have Asian orgins (Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos) and 3 of my Friends are White. Just planting the decor, lol.
I don't know why they asked, but we're always having debates like these on different topics so i just answered...
I told them that yes, that I thought all White people are racists, and that racism is not just hating all Black people, or all non-White people, but also includes a multitude of other aspects that enables racism to prosper.
It can be some unconscious feeling that you or White people in general are a tiny/ a lot better than Black people, it can be making or laughing at racists jokes, it can be denying racism even exists anymore: " But it's 2021, those kind of things don't exist anymore" this is also harmful, because then when your friends come talking to you complain about an encounter that was racist.... you will minimize it because "racism doesn't exist anymore so it can't be racist" so even though your intentions may not be bad... You are protecting the racists, intentionally or not etc...
There are so many more aspects to racism than just being a far right extemist who hates all foreigners. Racists don't only look like that.
I won't expand on this, but there are many more aspects, I mean I could expand, but it's not the point of my posts, the point of my post is that they asked me and I made a mini essay to explain that the way I see it, there are "levels" of racism (for lack of a better word), and that in that aspect, all White people were racist. People think that you need to be a far right white supremacist, to be racist, you really don’t.
And I told my White female friend, let's call her Alice, that she was the only White person I knew who wasn't racist (implying that my other two friends were racist).
To be honest, I don't think that all White people are racist, my uncle is White and he's the furthest from racist you'll ever find, but I said it anyway because otherwise some people would never question themselves. If I say this people will either get defensive and deny it, or reflect on it and try to assess if they have some internalized stuff they didn't explore and didn't know. But if I say that not all White people are racists, my friends would have directly thought they were off the hook.
What I do believe is that a lot of people are racist and just don’t realize it because they only think about the "extreme" cases of racism.
So I said to my friends that I thought all white poeple were racist and two things happened, and I wasn't expecting any of it:
- My White male friend, let's call him Pierre, listened carefully, and said that in what I had described, he admitted that he was indeed racist, he acknowledged that he did have some prejudice if he was being honest, and also that he had made some racists jokes so that even though he never considered himself racist, hearing what I was saying he said that on some levels, he was indeed racist.
Bear in mind that this is the friend whose favorite character in Black Panther was Martin Freeman, and had already argued in other conversations that positive discrimination made it difficult for White straight Men to find a job (When by the way he has never struggled to find a job a day in his life so go figure, besides there is no postive discrimination policies in France or anything, so I don't even know why he said that).
So knowing my friend, I knew he had some kind of prejudice, obviously, I just didn't think he would really think about what I was saying and admit it.
This was kind of a big deal, and I would never have thought that he would have admitted it, I thought he was the one I would have to argue with, but nope, he listened.
- Then my friend Alice, the one I had told was the only White Person I knew who wasn't racist, got mad and got defensive, even though she was the only one I hadn't called racist to her face. I said specifically she was the one White person I knew who wasn't racist because from previous discussions she was the most open when it came to discuss issues on racism.
However, she's the one who wouldn't really listen and said that I should not generalize about all White poeple, all that kind of stuff, so eventually I had to apologize to her and told her "It's not because all White People I know are racist that all White people are". I had to rephrase this way.
A few months later, I received a message from my friend Pierre, he's Alice's boyfriend by the way. He texted me that they were having Sunday lunch with her family, and someone asked Alice about a Black woman she knew, and Alice answered " She's pretty for a Black girl"...
So many things to unpack, the violence of those words thrown around so casually, those words being said by someone who doesn't consider herself racist, and also, the fact that I would have never known this if her own boyfriend hadn't texted me this.
"She is pretty for a Black girl" is one of the most disgusting and White Supremacist thing she could have said: All Black people/women are ugly by default but that girl is a little bit over that standard?" I don't know any context where that sentence isn't awful.
And also, I'm her friend, am I supposed to be relieved that maybe I'm in the basket of the "pretty ones" or should I consider myself as a member of the other crowd?
There's no way around it, what she said was so f*cked up.
This is why your " I can't be racist I have a Black friend" doesn't mean anything by the way. It doesn't mean anything. She's one of my closest friends.. we had a group trip together for my birthday. So she's not a casual friend, she was in my close group of friends.
The only silver lining is that by doing this, she exactly proved my point.
So according to you, who's the "ally"?
A White guy who recognizes he has prejudice and works on his racism and will call it out when he sees it, even if it's coming from his own girlfriend?
Or a White woman who considers herself an "ally" and doesn't think she is racist, but in the safety of her home doesn't hesitate to say racist stuff when she is surrounded by her White relatives?
It's no use being an "ally" if you're going to be defensive and deny everything or forget you're an ally the minute it is your favorite celebrity being called out.
Getting defensive whenever people start talking about racism is suspicious. If you feel called out, think about it, work on yourself and find out if what you’re being called out for is legitimate or not. And you know what maybe it isn’t? Maybe you Tumblr user X are not racist or you don't have prejudice, but you will never know if you don’t ask yourself and shut down the discussion from the beginning.
Just after the picture was posted a lot of people had already chosen their camp.
Even if you first reaction is defensiveness and wanting to deny it all, the first step should always be to sit back and think about it, and it's not only about racism, you listen first, think about it, and THEN and only then do you deny it or confirm it. Nobody is perfect, but the people who choose to stay obtuse in certain situations are really not helping and are by far the worst.
Stop finding excuses for Sebastian, of course don't go on his Instagram, don't harrass him, don't insult him... But also stop finding him excuses before you have taken the step to listen to the people who have something to say about it. Listen first, you’ll find the excuses later.
Also, most probably the people who are calling him out here on Tumblr are not the ones going on his Instagram to harass him (well at least I hope not) so why can't we have the conversation here?
We can have the conversations here on Tumblr, and discuss it... But the discussions will go nowhere if everybody just gets defensive.
Same thing when we call out racism in the fandom... Your first reaction shouldn't be to get defensive but to listen, I’m taking the example of the MCU but if we say there was racism in the Stucky fandom, don’t try to make it seem like there’s a Sambucky VS Stucky “ship war”, listen to why people are saying this, and then you can draw you own conclusions.
Here, for the Sebastian story, let's listen to what Buddhist people have to say, first. Maybe they will say the post was problematic maybe not... And we'll learn something.
My first thought is also to get defensive when I read a post and feel called out, but that's not the correct way, you may have some prejudice and not even realize it, or realize it and be in denial...
This might be contreversial but it is my opinion that most people are not hardcore racists. But their unwillingness to acknowledge their racist tendencies, working on it... or even staying silent when blatant racism is on display is what enables racism to live long and prosper.
On Twitter or other Social Media people will be openly racist without a problem, but Tumblr prides itself in being open and tolerant, but when it comes to really calling out racism, then it’s crickets-
If you don't want to do anything about racism... It's ok, I really mean it... It is ok.
If it doesn't disturb you when the non-White characters are treated differently in your fandoms it is ok, I'm serious... If you want to enjoy your Tumblr life without thinking about racism it is more than fine, you really have no obligation... It’s ok to stay away from some conversations.
But please... please, please don't stand in the way of people who are trying to do something about it.
And most importantly don't say you want to fight racism or that you are an "ally" but when you are called out or someone else is called out, you try to minimize everythin with "Not everything had to be about race"
Yes, not everything has to do with racism but you'll never know if you don't sit down and think about it first. Maybe Seb’s post wasn’t offensive, I don’t know. But how will we know if it was or not if we don’t listen to the people who are affected by that post?
This isn't even really about Seb himself but about the way some people in the fandom behave... How people just go to extremes without even trying to discuss first.
I love Seb as an actor, but I don’t know him and I’ll probably never meet him, I won’t spend the next days trying to defend him or accuse him, he and I live different lives that will never intersect, and it's fine like that, but I will listen to people who have been affected by his post and have something to say about it.
Seb will be fine, his career will be fine, he probably even has someone handling his social media... But the people on Tumblr who have to accept racism in silence and have had to do it for years will not be fine, if the coversations keep getting shut down before they even start.
Everyone skipped the listening part and jumped to the defending or condemning part. And also a lot of things from the past re-surfaced (take a knee post, some instagram likes I guees) which makes it even more difficult if people skip the listening part.
To me, there are 2 groups of people, people who have prejudice and want to do something about it and people who have prejudice but don't want to do anýthing about it...
I don't know in which group Seb is and I don't know him so I won't be spending days trying to figure it out...
But from what I've seen, at least in the MCU and Star Wars fandoms, I know in which group a lot of people in Tumblr users are and if some of them want to switch groups, it’s never too late.

Hey Charmed Fandom
Hey guys, long time no post (sorry, life has hit me like a bus, I hope I can make it up to you guys soon)
So, I'm sure a lot of you, if not all of you, have seent he trailer for the reboot of our greatly loved and cherished show by now.
I know a lot of you are not happy what what we've seen (so far) and that's totally fine and I can respect that. I get exactly where you're coming from. I have a few things I want to say about the whole situation.
But I have also seen so much hatred towards the new cast members. Especially for the fact they are not white. And I am seriously disappointed. You have every sing right to be mad the original cast is not back and that the networks did not listen to your views and opinions, but a lot of you need to chill the f**k out.
I've seen so many racist comments and sh*t about these ladies. That's not cool. Honestly, f*ck y'all for that. As a latino, I am so sad that so many of you will weapnize these girls skin colors and ethnicities into your anger and outrage over a damn show to. It's bullsh*t and I am sick of it.
Most of y'all are bitter the original cast/story is not in the reboot, I get it and tbh I was too at first, but c'mon, who wants to watch the same story over again. Besides, we all know, as of 2018, no matter what the og cast as said, they are not on good terms and a revival/reunion is just not going to happen. These girls are not to blame for it.
And another thing. Being a latino, I know first hand, that not all latino people look the same. Hell, my siblings and I look NOTHING alike. We come in all colors. So for you people saying Macy is "too black", y'all need to chill the f**k out alright. Alyssa is most definitely not the same shade as Shannen/Holly/Rose but y'all never complained about that. Shannen literally has nearly black hair and blue eyes, nothing like the other women on the show. And again, I heard no complaints? Not all races and ehtnicities look the same. As someone who has gone through life hearing people tell me I am "lying" that my siblings are my siblings because they have darker skin than me, it makes me sad that you'd imply that people cant look different and be related. Also, that you would use something such as race as a weapon against someone. That’s royally f*cked up.
Btw, for you folks who think this show is "propaganda" and "pc" because the cast is not white, shut up, white is not the default. Everyone deserves inclusion. A story can be told through different races/genders/sexualities/etc. Get a grip.
It just makes me super angry that these girls, WHO HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG BY THE WAY, are being targeted with racial slurs and sh*t. Stop, be respectful, and don't be a racist, it's not that hard.
Now that is out of the way.
You can hate this new show (though let's be real you have yet to see it, a trailer cannot do an entire show, that hasn't even been filmed yet, justice), that is well and fine. You have every right. Do you. But don't attack these girls for doing their job. They are all clearly really excited about it, give them a chance to show you what they come up with.
I also want to ask that charmed fans out there, be respectful of others who have a different opinion of the new show. You don't wanna watch it? Don't. You don't like the new story? Cool, great for you. You wish they brought the old cast back in some way? Me too, but sorry guys, it's not gonna happen. But don't go telling or charmed fans they are fake or disrespectful for wanting to check the new show out or supporting it, that's childish adn you aren't some snowflake for being "OG CHARMED ONLY!!! THE ORIGINAL POWER OF THE THREE IS THE ONLY POWER OF THREE!!! THIS IS SJUST A BAD COPY!!!" Ya, cool for you, go eat a snickers and watch the original show.
This show does not negate/erase the old show. Let me repeat, THIS SHOW DOES NOT NEGATE/ERASE THE OLD SHOW. The original show will still be there. It always will be.
If this reboot sucks and crashes & burns, guess what? The original Charmed will still be there.
If the new show does great and gains a great group of fans, old and new, guess what? THE ORIGINAL CHARMED WILL STILL BE THERE.
Let's at least give this show a try. It is a new and fresh spin on the original story.
I've also seen a lot of you complain about the trailer, and cool, you can do that, but don't claim these girls are "terrible" actresses from ONE teaser trailer of a PILOT. Give them a chance The original pilot for the original show was awful, not just some of the acting. Don’t base an entire show off of a pilot trailer, or even a pilot for that matter.
As for people saying the cgi is “bad” and was better in the 90′s version, lmao y’all are just salty and lying let’s not even front. But still, they JUST got a budget from being picked up, give them the opportunity to impress you. CGI has come a long way, I’m excited to see what the magic looks like in this one.
One thing I don't like the "feminist" angle they are pulling with the new show, that is no fault of the actresses, blame the cw for that choice of wording, because we all know damn well that the original show was all about feminism for it's time. This is a new time, feminism changes with time, I hope people understand that. Many will argue the original show wasn't as feminist as it could have been, of course, I agree, but in the time that it was, if was very much feminist. Don't let these new headlines about the new show being big on feminism, diminish the fact the original show was all about strong and powerful women that supported other women.
I know some of the old cast is not on board with the show, that's fine, they have every right. But you don't see them attacking these ladies for telling their charmed story with this new show, so you shouldn't either. Wish them well. Shannen and Holly both have, despite Holly not being in very big support of the show, she wished them well. It's called respect you guys, c'mon.
Let them have their shot. Shannen/Holly/Alyssa/Rose got their shot, let these ladies have theirs.
Be respectful. If you don't like something, or even everything, about the new show. Totally cool, 100%, but don't attack these women on twitter and be d*cks about it. The original show didn't go anywhere, it is not erased. Just say your piece, respectfully, and move on.
And I'm not here to start up arguments. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong, everyone has right to opinions. But even still, you don't need to be cruel about it. Don't go trying to make these girls lose their jobs they are really excited about and their show cancelled, y'all are being petty.
And a lot of people are angry that the new cast said they haven't seen the old show. Though I'm sad they haven't, mainly because I want them to feel the magic I felt growing up watching it, which I'm sure a lot of you can relate to, it doesn't mean they are being disrespectful to the original because guess what? This is  a new show (WAHH, OMGGG??? WHO KNEW) These new characters have nothing to do with te characters from the original show. I don't see what people are so stuck on that. It's like you cannot grasp the point of the show being "another take" on the original story, it's not that hard to understand.
I mean let's be honest, if they  tried to be too much like the original, y'all will roast and complain. If they don't make them anything like the original, y'all will still complain. It's a lose/lose situation when you're bitter about it. If you go into it with an open mind, you might like it. And might not and that is okay.
If you love the original charmed so much, great, go watch it, tweet about, tweet the stars about it and tell them how much you appreciate and love these characters (without attacking the new characters/show). But don't belittle these new ladies and tell them they are "ruining" the og show, because they are not. And be respectful to them, wish them well, if you'd like, and move on. Don't have something nice to say to them, don't say a god damn thing at all to them.
Also, if these ladies block you on social media, I'm about 98% sure you deserved it. The charmed fans I have seen, are being cruel to these ladies, without any reasoning and it's not cool. Don't be a brat because you didn't get your way with how things turned out. Wish them well and move along.
BTW This blog is and always will be about the original Charmed, that won't ever change. But I hope that you guys welcome this new show and it's cast with an open mind and open heart, I know a lot of fans will. But I also know some won't. I hope they do though because hey, they just may surprise you.
Please don't reblog this and start to argue, I'm not here for it, I just wanted to state my word on the negativity and hope that we can all be respectful. This isn’t a  “you’re wrong, I’m right!!” post, I’m just asking you guys be open and be respectful.
Now, I'm excited for this new show and I hope you guys are too. I'm sure these ladies will work hard, along with the rest of the cast, to bring you something magical. I wish them well and look forward to what they have to offer to the Charmed universe.
I think Macy will be my favorite sister, what about you guys? :)

We have to talk about racism.
Racism. We heard and read a lot about it lately. But what does racism cause exactly? Where does it come from? I dont know if I will find the answers to all of these questions, but I’ll try.
Racism goes beyond words, beliefs and actions. It prevents dignity and equality based on race. It comes from unconscious biases which form in early childhood (Australian Human Rights Commission, 2017). This is not immediately a bad thing: Scientists say that grouping people up in stereotypes and expected traits is a way for the brain to not get overwhelmed by all the information it is getting. This means that we internalized certain ideas. (Devlin, 2018). Not all racism comes from hate. The Australian Human Rights Commission says it also comes from fear, anxiety, and ignorance (2017). Reason to educate yourself, I would say.
The unconscious biases that we have, makes that we act like it too. That way acts can cause disadvantage to people with another skin colour or ethnicity (Devlin, 2018). Studies show that the effects of racism can start in early childhood and even during pregnancy. It causes stress, which in pregnancy can lead to lower birth weight and child mortality. But stress can also cause changes in hormones and inflammation in kids’ bodies. This can be a sign of chronic illnesses. (McCarthy, 2019).
Compared to white families African American, Hispanic, and American Indian families are more likely to have a lower income. This affects housing, education, nutrition, and access to health care (McCarthy, 2019). For a child this means that they are more likely to get health issues, and have less quality education, which will effect their chances on the job market (If they will be invited to an interview to begin with) and so their income later in life….It will be a vicious circle that might continue for generations. Since we just mentioned education: Black students are more likely to be suspended from preschool (US. Department of Education Office for civil rights, 2014 ). Preschool! I didn’t even know that was possible in the first place. 48% of the suspended preschoolers are black, while they only make up 18% of all preschoolers. This may be because black kids, in particular boys, are seen as less innocent, then white boys of the same age (Goff, Jackson, et al., 2014). This might be the result from the fact that the kids are mistaken to be older then they are.
Talking about suspension. Black students are three times more suspended than white students who commit similair infractions. Having cops and security officers at school also makes that behaviour like a minor infraction is often criminalized. Because of this, the students are more likely to be in contact with the justice system. While in reality the kids would benefit more from counseling and additional education, since they often have a background with poverty, abuse and learning disabilities (ACLU, 2020). (Click here for more stats on school discipline)
“If you’re aware of these associations then you can bring to bear all of your critical skills and intelligence to see it’s wrong to think like that,” he said. “We all have the ability to control that.” - Harris
How deep the biases go, depends on the experiences you have with the group you hold the biases against (Devlin, 2018). Luckily, it is not an excuse for discriminatory behaviour, because we all have the ability to control our behaviour. Understanding where the biases come from, you will be able to change them. Because we are able to internalize new ideas and behaviour (Brooks, 2012). It just takes critical thinking skills and intelligence to think about why your actions are wrong (Devlin, 2018) . (Some people really showed they lack those two things apparently)
Recognizing your unconscious biases is a way to avoid them (Clarkson, 2018). But to do this you have to be able to really look at yourself, your believes, and your own actions (McCarthy, 2019). You might not like what you find. But you can change that. Educate yourself. Speak up.
---------------
Writer’s note: It took me a while to write this. I took some time to think about what to write. There were so many ridiculous comments on the BLM movement and what all is going on, that I couldn’t even pick. It upset me to see how hateful people are. It burst my bubble of naivety (It’s not that I thought racism did not excist. I just didn’t realize how deep it went).  I mean... I did not even go deep into the f*cked up system (pardon my language), I did not even mention police brutality or how many people of colour die because they can not get the right help because of systemic problems. I honestly didn’t even know where to start with writing, and when started, where to end. Because of that this post is still way more superficial than I wanted it to be.  I realize I still don’t even grasp half of the issues that people face because of racism. Because of that, I realized more than ever before how privileged I truly am. It made me think; Did I look away? Did I make racist comments or jokes? Even though I want to say I did not. I probably did without realizing it, or without seeing the harm. I’m sorry for doing that. But with all the information I read now and it the past weeks, I educated myself. I will try my hardest to be a better person, to not look away and speak up.   And again: If you think I am wrong or incomplete. Please let me know! I will be happy to rectify the post and educate myself.
