i’m having such a great time w this YES EXACTLY THE TWO KANGMINS REACH OUT TO THEIR SHADOWS !! AND ONE OF THEM IS SMILING AS HE PUTS HIS HAND OUT!! i know we have this good/evil divide between verivery and the clones but i think the real mission of the clones (and the kangmins) is to get the guys to recognize and accept everything, even the worst parts of themselves. yeah the clones like fucking w them and putting them through some bullshit but they’re still Them. looking at the undercover lyrics, it says “accept our V connection” “i’m trying to make you right, my alter ego” “the ‘we’ born from ‘you’ and ‘me.’” i think the clones are trying to communicate that they and verivery are two sides of the same coin, and kangmin is the one that really wakes up to that and knows what must be done- you either kill yourself to kill the part of you you’re afraid of (which he tried in the “O” concept film), or you face it and become one with it!

NO BC THATS LITERALLY WHAT I WAS SAYING ABT THE UNDERCOVER LYRICS IN THIS POST LIKE ... its in the clones' natures, in a way, to be not all that great morally or ethically because... theyre LITERALLY the embodiments of the vrvr members' darkest aspects. but in the same vein i dont think their INTENTIONS are all that nefarious—especially with the lyrics in undercover, it seems more like they just want to be "one" with the better parts of themselves that are present in the main vrvrs-- theyre constantly fighting against (and often losing to) their dark habits because thats pretty much who they are and they can't change that, but they want the best for both themselves and main vrvr (despite all the. yknow. stabbing and saw-esque psychological torture scenarios). mostly they just want main vrvr to accept them (ie: their dark sides) as a part of them, meanwhile main vrvr (or most of them anyway) are busy trying to repress that shit as deeply as possible and, in this case quite literally, run away from their flaws.
kangmin's whole (supposed) journey really intrigues me-- he starts out struggling, hating himself and his flaws, and when they manifest in physical form he tries to eliminate them... but he probably realizes he cant, because theyre a part of him, and always will be. he fights against his dark side with the most brutality, but he comes to accept it the fastest, too
what im gonna say next is mostly for me personally because i doubt youve watched the dark crystal series/movie but. the main villains in both the series and the movie are this "evil" race of creatures called the skeksis (theres some issues with xenophobia and the whole "entire race made up of irredeemable bad guys" concept but thats a conversation for another day), and alongside them are a race of very good, pure, wise creatures called the "mystics" (they have a more technical name but i dont remember it lmao). originally, though, they were one race (the urskeks) and got split into two in some giant magical tragedy-- one representing the dark side of the race, and the other representing the light. verivery's situation is a little different, since it's a group of whole people (as far as we know) essentially running away from the darkest parts of themselves, but the two still remind me of each other (additionally, the whole saga ends with the two races rejoining into one, which seems like something that might happen to vrvr as well, or at least something similar to it).
vrvr lore TRULY makes the writer/english major brain go brrr <33
