[Martin + Tape Recorders] I know that the Eye enjoying Martin's fear and pain is kinda its Thing, but im kinda digging the mental image of the Eye defending Martin... Elias does that trauma transference with his mom, boom, hundreds of tape recorders everywhere, flooding the room and knocking Elias over. Peter trying to swoop in and steal Martin away? Every time he gets within 30 feet of Martin a tape recorder shows up and tells him to fuck off, even if he's in the lonely.

I love that image SO much, so I am going to casually wave away all the lore, my common sense, and the fear and pain stuff and say: yes. The tape recorders ARE protective.

I am laughing at the image of Elias getting knocked down by tape recorders, but I am not sure if they would have to, since Elias is Beholding as well. Instead, Elias is just like “Hm, I came down here to psychologically torture you, but for some reason I feel compelled to give you a raise. Very curious.”

With people who aren’t so easily influenced, it starts off subtle. They’ll just... snap (??) At people who seem to be Mean to Martin. Like the little opening where you put the tapes will just open and close like they wanna bite you.

Unironically 69 degrees F. Usually with intermittent clouds, when I can go and soak up sun but cool down in the shade. 70 just doesn't hit like that
