Yes it's another Jak and Daxter au idea. No, I didn't plan it, it jumped into my head during a work commute yesterday. Yes I'm inflicting it all on you because then I'll be able to find it on my blog later for ideas 馃ぃ
I'm calling it the "Faulty Info" au until I think of a title lol
So it would take place during the early parts of the Daxter solo game. Sig is in the city, searching for Mar/Baby Jak, and he gets a tip that someone saw a kid with green hair and blue eyes get snatched by the KG. Understandably, Sig goes into panic mode and fails to specify to the tipster the actual age of the kid spotted. He just rounds up a couple Wastelander buddies doing odd jobs for kicks for Krew and they come up with a heist plan to break the kid out of prison.
Well, it turned out not to be a toddler they were rescuing. In fact, it's a very traumatized teenager. Hair and eye color is about right though, so Sig supposes he can't be upset at his informant. And frankly, after the condition he found this kid in, he's relieved Mar wasn't there.
Jak gets shipped off to Spargus, where the medics discover my theory that Jak is a little younger than he looks because Samos just ballpark guessed an age for him and stuck to it. Damas takes one look at this kid and swears he won't get attached just because he resembles Mar.
Spoilers: he gets attached within two months.
Jak spends the next year and a half wreaking havoc on Marauders and metalheads any time someone leaves the gate open. Kleiver has six new gray hairs in his mustache and Jak is the cause of them all. Jak treats the city like it's a big dry Sandover Village and pops up at all hours and all locations doing whatever chore strikes his fancy.
He doesn't know what goes on in the Arena yet. Damas insisted he wasn't old enough for battle trials yet. Jak is mildly insulted by that considering what he's survived. But he's figured out by now that Damas is just as stubborn as he is.
Jak eventually gets permission to check in on Sig so he can look for his friends under the guise of running errands for Krewe. Sig almost has a heart attack the day Jak discovers zoomers.
A getaway gone wrong causes him to run into Ximon and Daxter right about at the time the original rescue happened in Jak 2. Cue an exuberant reunion that happens to involve several large explosions. (Damas never told Jak not to make a mess, so he's pretty sure he'll get away with it). They meet Kor and Mar moments later, as the metalhead had been assuming Jak would escape the prison any week now, not realizing he's been out for 18 months.
The rest of the game proceeds as normal except for two things:
Jak put two and two together that Mar is Damas鈥檚 missing kid immediately, and instead of using the Underground to help him kill the Baron, he's gaining their trust so he can just grab the kid and the Precursor Stone and take them back to Spargus.
And Damas finds out what the Dark Warrior Program was and why Jak was nabbed.
Let's just say there's a non zero chance that Kor won't get to be the one to take down Praxis.

Faulty Info au: Jak post rescue takes a while to open up, but getting plopped into a training squad with some other kids his age definitely helped
Tumblr media
Two years later, Jak is as wild as ever. He convinces Spargus to let him "help" Sig -- mostly to try to prove to Damas that he's old enough and strong enough to compete in the Arena. And when he and Sig encounter Daxter again, the Shenanigans Escalate Significantly.
Tumblr media
Bonus:
Tumblr media
When Jak sends word that he might鈥檝e found Mar, Damas sneaks into Haven to find out. A night of hiding from the guards in the Water Slums shrine hut (with the Precursor that teaches Jak to use dark eco) leads Damas to some...unexpected revelations. And he and Praxis are about to have a conversation that Praxis will not enjoy.
