Oh man, those people are gonna talk shit about He tian being "violent" again😑

this is actually a pretty sensitive topic that has always been debated a lot in the fandom, and im not sure what has been said about it in these past couple of years that i've been away, but i do have to admit i was a bit surprised to see how negatively people reacted to he tian holding guan shan like that in this last chapter, not because i can't understand how that could make some people uncomfortable, but mostly because unlike others i didn't really get from it the impression that he tian was doing that to force an answer out of guan shan and to be domineering and controlling over him: when guan shan says that he doesn't remember when he and she li met, he tian doesn't push the matter and demand the truth, he is actually the one to reply to guan shan ('what the fuck is your problem' 'im not in a good mood') and the he just rest his head on guan shan's shoulder

i personally felt that he tian grabbed guan shan's hands like that because he desperately needed to feel guan shan close and to be grounded by his presence, to be comforted by it, which is something we know guan shan is not ready to give him yet, and don't get me wrong, im not saying it was okay to do it, guan shan is absolutely right, he tian does need to learn how to communicate better, but he tian is also an extremely tactile person, he craves guan shan's touch when he is happy, and even more so when he is upset, and i don't think this is something that will ever change about him, he will always need and look for this kind of physical reassurace

again, im not excusing he tian doing something guan shan is not yet comfortable with, but i also don't feel like this gesture has such a negative connotation compared to his usual ones, or that it upsetted guan shan more than he tian's touches usually do. This moment actually reminds me a bit of the hug in chapter 184 if i have to be honest, except that in this last case he tian was happy and able to catch guan shan off guard and give him a proper hug, while in the last chapter he was upset and guan shan was very much aware of him, so he tian went for the closest thing to a back hug he could get

like, for me, it's way more closer to the hug than, say, the moment in chapter 210 where he tian pushed him down on the bed and demanded him to put on the earring and follow him, and i picked this one scene because both in chapter 210 and in this last one he tian puts guan shan's arms behind his back, but the feeling of it is just so different to me, and more than violent the moment we got in this update just felt intimate to me, which is imho why buzzcut guy didn't think he tian was hurting guan shan, but you know, doing something else

all this being said, i do understand if some people are not comfortable with he tian acting like that, and even if i got a certain feelings from this chapter it doesn't mean it's the right one, everyone has the right to feel what they do, but i do hope it won't spoil the enjoyment for the ship: we all want for tianshan to be able to communicate better and reach that point in their relationship where they both understand and are comfortable with each other, but they're also 15 years old kids who have known each other for less than a month and already grew A LOT from the beginning, so let's be critical but also patient with them
