I say this as someone who really does like Fenris and does think he's smart, but I think some portions of the fandom give him a bit too much credit as a debater
#fandom critical#this is bc I read a post that said that he never denies things that are actually happening or distort the facts#which i feel is objectively incorrect#also bc I saw a post that claimed that *Anders* was the one that brought up Hawke’s mother to win an argument#which. no. that didnt happen like that.#again I really like Fenris#but i think that sometimes when people put him against Anders or Merrill#they lean too hard into him being the 'logical one'#and esp Anders being overly emotional#Fenris is emotional and irrational and doesnt examine his hypocrisy the same as the rest of them. he just speaks evenly#and often says the last sentence#so people think he 'shut someone up' or whatever#similar to sebastian. that man does not have logical arguments. he just says them last a lot.
