@quibble-auk I might be reworking my Tired Dad design for Comet.

I mean he'd look more like a gladiator right?? His mimicry gets better as he gets older. (He still had armor on is exposed stuff though, its just thinner I think, he's not that dumb) I took inspiration from your comic of him, and I'm gonna keep working on it. I may have made him too thick, like dude is supposed to be lean.

But some actual lore???? Well kinda… not really. Just a little mini comic I made a bit ago with two of the characters.

Basic summary, Sunrazor wasn’t always the way she is.

It was better before

Don’t ask me how or why it’s raining. I was just like “they enjoy the rain together???? Do cute couple things and go play in rain???” Originally I was gonna make them dance in the rain but that was a lot of work.

Yeah, so the other character in this is Valkyrie.

Fun fact about her: my sister indulges me and when I was first creating my OC’s she wanted to make one too. So she created Valkyrie and then we were all silly goofy haha- what if they kissed????

It spiraled from there.

They never officially split up. It’s a long story but for a hot minute Valkyrie was convinced that Sunrazor was dead. And Sunrazor was not having a fun time.

Still working on exactly how things went down.

I know what happens… it’s just how it happens is the part I’ve gotta finish up.

Ok stop because I was literally just wondering what he looked like because I’m working on smth. The worms are in sync. Stop.

His horns look like weird little ears in these please ignore that.

And for the twins and why they spared Comet, they were younger then, right? They could try to argue that. They didn’t know any better. Or possibly that he wasn’t a sparkling and they realized that. (What sparkling bleeds yellow?) The fact that he had already won would have helped too. Or they would come up with other lame excuses.

There are so many things that they try and use to defend themselves.

But the mentality of the pits would most definitely be having to earn the right to live. They all do every day. It’s just part of life.

I’m having really angsty thoughts about this now. I also have no clue if it’s canon. We are making AUs of our AUs at this point.

At first I was trying to think of how/why baby Sunrazor got into the pits and then I remembered that I made it so if any working model is seen as defective then they would be thrown into an arena to get rid of them.

So… Sunrazor is not the only sparkling in the pits.

The twins would know this. They would know that like all of the other sparklings sent in she’s here to die. And if she’s not killed by a gladiator or smth then it’s very possible that whatever’s wrong with her will. And if they figure out that she’s a guardian there’s an additional layer of she’s screwed because Guardians die fast in arenas.

(They can’t turn off their sensors. They can handle crowds when they are working and stuff. But an arena is built to amplify noise, it’s like that to get the gladiators worked up. The crowds in arenas are also typically violent enough that a gladiators threat detection would label them as people to keep an eye on. So if they aren’t overwhelmed upon being shoved out on the arena floor they are already beating expectations.

And then they don’t have stamina like gladiators do. They are stronger than gladiators and can take more of a beating than them. But if they aren’t able to finish the match within the first couple of minutes then they are dead. They were not built for gladiator matches at all.)

It would make sense for the twins to try and get Comet to leave her.

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker would definitely feel like they are in the right. They are protecting Comet from unnecessary pain. Gladiators don’t handle losing attachments well, I mean look at Dropmix. Theremin died and he had like a midlife crisis then proceeded to torture and disfigure people so he could get a shot at revenge.

If Comet gets attached and Sunrazor dies he could make stupid decisions and get himself killed. Or the twins killed. They are old enough to understand that now.

Don’t get attached to it. It’s going to die anyway.

So yeah… just some thoughts…. Nothing really important lol

It makes sense, it makes perfect sense. In my head Com just grabs her. Like split second snatches her up. The twins get word and they immediately go into threat mode.

That argument of "Its going to die anyway" is amazing. Them being scared for how it would affect Comet and maybe get them all killed is the direction I was kinda going but your idea definitely cements it.

The details of them getting rid of something defective, that is literally perfect for this how did I not remember. The idea of them just culling younglings, ugh that's horrible. But that would also make sense for poor comet when he gets thrown in. No one cares because things that look like literal children die in the arena all the time. That's why I made Sunny use "it" when talking about Sunrazor, he doesn't want to even acknowledge her as a living thing.

That does make me think of why Sunstreaker would decide to let Comet live, since he has so much blood on his hands already why would he hesitate??

I feel like that would be Comets argument, "I was on the slaughter block, you were my executioner! What makes me any different than them?!" Cue the twins trying to NOT think of Comet suffering before they could protect him.

Maybe their argument would be Comet had already survived and won one match, this kid wouldn't survive her first.

"Why would anyone have to EARN the right to live?!"

"Why do we have to gut and tear out sparks to live Com!?? Why are we monsters??! Life isn't fragging fair that's why."

UGH I love your thoughts, never hesitate to send them to me please.

Let me sit and imagine a world where the canon event doesn’t happen because I need to feel joy instead of looming dread when writing fluff. Please no angst. I will actually die if we put angst in this. Have mercy on me.

They are so sleepy

I’m countering her being upset he ate another guard with “oh, but this is my charge.” Yk how I mentioned that they’d do that? They would sacrifice another member of their family group for what they are assigned to protect and the member would be like “yeah alright. Fair. I would do the same. Still love you.” Not saying she be happy about it, especially if she could have done smth to prevent it but…

I had also mentioned that when they get emotionally attached to things that they watch over (tiny organic children would be a big one) they see their role as the protector as something sacred. That’s why they aren’t allowed to interact much with the people that they work for. It causes issues with their reliability.

Sunrazor’s sole purpose in life now is to keep her wife and three kids safe and happy.

She would go find morally wrong people (Dropmix and Torrent watch out) and be like “son, I have hunted and gathered for you” and Valkyrie just gives her this look.

On the other side of the spectrum. Comet has to worry about this small creature just throwing herself at things to fight. She’s gotta protect him.

Comet is like, it’s cute but… please stop. Where are your survival instincts? Are you actually trying to die? I can take care of myself.

That’s what the backpack is for.

Baby Sunrazor is determined she’ll win said fights though. She don’t understand that she is small and that she has weaknesses. So yeah, she’ll sit there and growl at anything and everything that comes close to Comet… until they do smth scary and she just freezes.

Locked joints bro… she’s not old enough to fully embrace her fight response (otherwise they would never make it to adulthood). Baby Guardians have a freeze response instead… which sucks when they are constantly provoking stuff.

I never finished the second doodle but I kinda lost motivation. Enjoy

I was waking and also had the thought “WHAT IF THATS WHY THE TWINS DONT LIKE HER???” They can’t explain their dislike and hatred towards her but they just feel like she’s going to hurt Comet. The worms are in sync.

I’m also now just picturing Comet looking out into the crowd and seeing a black and white dude with a visor and goofy cat ears and just experiencing an unholy amount of rage and hate towards him. But like… Comet doesn’t even know Jazz.

It is a sad but brutal reality that Dropmix wouldn’t have met Jeopardy if Theremin had survived. I could probably try to play with some of Jeopardy’s backstory to make it so they could meet in this AU… but it kinda feels more fitting for him not to be there.

I’m excited for Comet’s metal break with Dropmix tho. Don’t spoil or post a WIP. Self control is hard but possible. I’ve somehow managed to do it with Dropmix’s music (for the most part) I’ve gotta work on some more Dropmix Trials stuff… I just don’t know what to do next with it lol

But could you imagine teen Comet staring at the baby Sunrazor adult Comet is presenting and just thinking baby Hitler thoughts.

A goofy little Horns and Razors AU thing. And some thoughts. Very angsty thoughts but thoughts nonetheless.

I think I’m kinda funny. Rip the one dude, he doesn’t even know he’s on Comet’s hit list.

I’ve gotta finish pulling together my sparkling thing so these can make a bit more sense. But this is basically how I picture it going down.

This is really just me thinking about the AU compared to the actual story and how the lack of canon events would affect everyone.

Comet sometimes wakes up from a nightmare he can’t really remember and looks over at Sunrazor and feels this tidal wave of fear wash over him for just a moment. He occasionally looks at her and for the briefest second he swears Sunrazor is towering over him and Comet blinks again and it’s just a tiny sparkling again.

Sunrazor gets unreasonably afraid of going to the medical station. Occasionally she’ll wake up and look around and ask where Valkyrie or her family group is (I don’t feel like putting all the names here). Or she’ll sometimes look at Comet and feel guilty because she hurt him.

Dropmix just feels like he’s missing something. He’ll wake up and be like “wait, where’s Jeopardy? I gotta make sure he’s alright.” And Theremin just gives him this sad look and explains to him that they don’t know anyone named Jeopardy. Or he’ll randomly remember some piece of medical knowledge that he really shouldn’t know.

Idk how it would affect the twins and we haven’t introduced any other characters yet… but yeah. Thoughts.
