The Ineffable Husband's Theme Song
Hello, everyone!
Over the years, many people have come up with songs that describe the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale. And a few songs have definitely been popularly considered as the most accurate. But today, we'll be determining once and for all: what is, technically speaking, the perfect song for Aziraphale and Crowley?
Rules
First off, since this is a 'competition', we'll need some basic rules. For example: how will I be analyzing these songs? Well, here's the basic idea:
For each song, I will be going lyric by lyric and picking out the lyrics that apply most to them. Then, I'll put up a poll for you guys to decide: which song, based on the lyrics alone, is the best?
Now obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I'd like to see what we think, as a fandom, is probably the most accurate song. Just out of curiosity, you know?
So let's meet our 'contestants.'
first up, we have Good-Old Fashioned Loverboy by Queen. This one is a classic, with multiple memes, animatics and fanfics based around it. This one is a famous one, but is it the best? We'll have to wait and see.
second: Unknown / Nth by Hozier. This song is fairly new, as it came out this year, but has gained quite a bit of popularity.
Heavenly Kind of State of Mind by Lewis Capaldi is also new to the fandom, but is definitely a good one. It has religious themes throughout, which fits with Good Omens.
From Eden by Hozier is another religiously-themed song, and another popular one.
Our final pick by Hozier: Nobody. Maybe not as talked about, but it certainly has a good chance at winning.
And finally: I See Your Heart and Raise You Mine by Bell x1. This one is extremely husbands-coded for a song that isn’t about Good Omens—I think it has a good chance.
There were some other contenders, but since I, as a human being, can only commit so much time to this, I narrowed it down to the top 6 best songs. Thank you everyone who suggested songs, and I apologize if yours didn't make it. There will be an honorable mentions section at the end, don't worry. :)
This will be divided up into multiple parts, but published all at once. All the posts can be found under the tag 'good omens theme song' on my blog.
Enjoy! And stick around until the end to cast your vote.
(reblogging these posts is really helpful so we get more votes! do that, if you want. no pressure)
