Honestly. Every two or three days someone publishes a post saying "oh why do you like nomae? If mae is bad, she's the villain, blah blah blah" that makes me wonder if these people have a life beyond wasting their time hating.
If you don't like something, can't you just block it? Or can't you just focus on promoting what you like?
Oh my god, do something productive with your lives.
It's good to see that lately even those who don't ship nomae are against these people.
There are many points we can discuss about this.
For example, we can talk about how absurd and pointless it is to throw hate at a ship. I mean, what do people gain from it? Making others feel bad? Do they really get satisfaction from shaming and trying to make people feel guilty for just trying to escape reality for a while by shipping and fangirling over things they like in a healthy and purely playful way? Do they seriously find any pleasure in it? Does it give them dopamine or something? Because if they really need to crush people to feel better about themselves, what I would recommend is to leave the internet and start therapy because these are indeed very sadistic and sociopathic behaviors.
Putting aside the melodramatic and catastrophic moment, we can also talk about how sad it is to waste time hating something instead of doing something productive like, for example, creating content. They complain that the KotPotA tags are infested with things about Nomae, but do they contribute anything beyond the hate? Do they write dissertations, present theories, upload gifsets or fanarts? No, of course not, they just throw crap. I mean, if it bothers you so much that when you enter the tag 90% of the content is not to your liking, then I invite you to fill the tag with things you do like. You are free to do so. But I guess it’s much easier to just complain instead of making an effort to contribute.
This brings me to another point that I find very ironic. Yes, everything is full of Nomae, but that is precisely what keeps the fandom alive. Every day someone uploads some fanart, some video, some comment or fanfic. Every day there is someone talking in this tag about the topic that, whether many like it or not, means talking about the movies. Let’s be honest, those of us who keep fandoms alive (and I speak in general) are the shippers, especially when they are fandoms of franchises whose content are movies that take years to come out. If it weren’t for people fangirling all the time, there would be no content on social media. I’m sorry if you don’t like that content, but once again I invite you to use your freedom of expression to create rather than try to destroy people’s self-esteem.
But well, as you say, at least there are people with common sense and enough mental maturity to understand that if you don’t like something, the best thing to do is ignore it and that’s it, as well as understanding that shaming people on social media is very much a thing of 15 years ago and today it’s just pathetic.

okay okay so re: this post about this gifset
tell me what you think--did Benson plan on killing everybody in the restaurant? did he plan on killing himself after? did he expect to spare Randy, or was he on the fence? was he gunning for Chris and Chris alone and anticipating having to improvise?
I just love the way this scene plays out and how, despite the horrific violence, there's still something undeniably human about Benson as he goes about it. I would LOVE to hear your take!!
Holy shit my response is so long and rambling I'm so so sorry but uhhhh here's my thoughts under a cut to save people's dashboards from my dumb brain 🙈
Tumblr media
Omg so yes this is something I think about ALL the time. Chris is, of course, a definite 100%. He was basically dead the moment he grabbed Benson's shoulder and said "...I'll have no problem turning your peaceful redneck existence into a living hell..." Benson warned him, gave him a chance to back down from bullying Randy, but Chris doubled down so RIP lol. Which was the spark that lit the first fuse.
The rest I think may have been improvised a bit but not by much. I think he planned on killing everyone, except Randy, but wasn't sure how exactly it would all go down. There's a chance Hardy might not have heard Jess screaming and never come out of the back. Which that alone I find funny that it was Jess' shrieking and not the two shotgun blasts that managed to rip him away from his morning jerk off session. So Benson might have planned on getting Hardy in the office by surprise after doing in Chris and Jess.
Jess is interesting because Benson tries to quiet her first before getting frustrated and shooting her to shut her up. Like, was bro gonna give her some speech before offing her? I wouldn't be surprised. Something about not dating entitled dickheads? I get why some people think he might not have killed her if she stopped screaming, which is a fair theory! But I also think she's been clearly joining in on the bullying and egging on Chris with her little comments and giggling like she had been earlier that morning. So I think she was already firmly on his kill list by that point, plus she would have no use to him other than being another witness—and the whole thing wasn't about her, it was about Randy, so dragging her around with them, or leaving her behind, would be pointless and risky.
Randy Randy Randy. I don't think he ever intended on killing Randy at any point, except maybe there being the risk of it happening when he was shaken after the whole Sheppard situation. At that point, Benson was so out of his own body I think almost anything could've happened, though ultimately I don't think that would've ever been on purpose, only in a knee-jerk reaction. I do think it was a liiittle bit of a test. I think Benson, like he said in the diner (the first round lol) that seeing Randy just stand there doing nothing and waiting for Benson to kill him was the only thing he believed in. He, like Benson mentioned, had been watching Randy and knew he was smart, but also knew he wouldn't do anything to stop what was happening. But I think a small part of him was hoping he would be proved wrong, hoping Randy would do something and show some agency.
And then there's Benson. I've mentioned this before but yeah, I think throughout the film he kinda goes back and forth on having a deathwish. I think when he's having his smoke and probably semi-planning what he's gonna do he is also fully aware that this is the end of the road for him and Randy is his... I don't know, I guess one last chance at redemption before ending things. Pulling Randy back from the brink of dead-end small town small thinking monotony is his like... last hurrah. Ok well maybe killing Chris and everyone is really the last hurrah, but helping Randy figure his shit out is like his last good deed, helping Randy not end up like him. When they're driving to the diner after cleaning up BBB he's in high spirits. The relaxation and acceptance phase of his road to inevitable death/suicide. But then as things progress and he learns more about Randy and everything, once they reach the school, I think at that point he had stepped back from the ledge and was thinking, maybe wishfully thinking, that he could make it out of there. But then Sheppard had to show up and ruin everything. I think Benson had started to think that maybe things could be alright, if only he could get Randy to Ms. Beard's, get that checked off the to-do list, and then they could try escaping. But Sheppard appears and reminds Benson that no matter what he can never escape. He'll never escape what happened to him, the things he's tried to forget, or who he is. So at that point it's like trying to save a sandcastle from an incoming tide. There's no use. Benson didn't have the tools to deal with seeing Sheppard, especially not on a day like that day when he had already spilled blood three times. Chris and them, maybe they deserved it to an extent in Benson's eyes, but no one deserved it more than Sheppard. So after Sheppard he's given himself whiplash. He had accepted his death, then got hopeful, and then had the ceiling cave in on him causing him to have to re-accept his fate, though not as steadfast. There's a few points after Sheppard where it feels like Benson is mentally clawing at the oncoming events in panic. Ms. Beard getting that call and answering it before they could leave. Benson hearing the sirens after Randy calls the cops. Both times it looks like he's reliving some cosmic disappointment like even though he's had to re-accept his fate, he's still desperately looking for an off-ramp. I think that's maybe what Benson means at the end. "I was never in charge, Randy." His fate or inevitable end was in charge and was something he'd already considered set in stone. Though I think that's also due to some self-sabotage. Like Randy tried to tell him, he had the opportunity to just run and never look back but instead decided to go on some self-assigned white knight quest for Randy in circles around town. Following some perceived path to "fix" Randy in ways Benson could never fix himself. Benson is a walking self-fulfilling prophecy. So to answer your question about whether I think Benson planned on killing himself after killing Chris, Jess, and Hardy (and after "helping Randy")—in my opinion, yes, I believe so. But I also think it switches back and forth from yes to no like 15 times between them leaving BBB and watching the cops pull into the diner parking lot that night, lol.

I know I’ve said basically this same thing before, but I was thinking about it again, so here we go again: interpretation of a work of fiction is a personal thing and there’s really no objectively correct reading, but personally, I’m eternally unconvinced by and uninterested in readings of The Sopranos that boil down to “these people literally cannot change, they’re destined to be Like This for the rest of their lives.” Obviously the show excels at showing the factors that constrain people’s choices, but if we’re supposed to disapprove when the characters justify their bad choices by downplaying their own agency (which I think we are!), then we can’t also believe that those choices were literally inevitable. It’s gotta be one or the other!
Like, on a gifset of the scene in “Down Neck” where Tony says, “You’re born to this shit. You are what you are,” and Melfi responds, “Within that, there’s a range of choices,” I saw a bunch of people in the tags saying that Tony was right, and I’m still all ????? whenever I think of that. He’s 100% right that the circumstances of your birth inevitably affect your life and your character, but Melfi’s response is also obviously correct, both in Sopranos world and in the real world. To say that he’s right and she’s wrong is, IMO, to fall for the very lie that he (along with most of the characters on the show to one degree or another) tells himself so that he doesn’t have to take responsibility for his life and his actions! Granted, some of the people saying “he’s right” may have just been joking, or they may have forgotten the full context of the gifs. But this is also just one example of a pattern that doesn’t get any less strange to me no matter how much it pops up. Actually, it’s a pattern that extends beyond The Sopranos. I can’t wrap my head around a reading of any story that boils down to “it literally had to turn out this way, the characters were always going to do what they did.”* To me, that interpretation requires either (1) believing that people do not have agency in real life**, or (2) believing that fate doesn’t exist in real life but does exist in the story***, which to me automatically renders the story pointless and boring because at that point it has nothing to say about real life.
Absolutely NOT trying to start a fight or anything, I literally just wanted to get these thoughts out of my head. Actually, no, I had to get these thoughts out of my head. I don’t have free will, which means you can’t criticize anything I do. Sorry but I am naught but a helpless victim of destiny 🤷‍♀️
*from an in-universe perspective, I mean. Not from a meta perspective. **obligatory blanket disclaimer that I realize that there are limits to any one person’s agency and I am NOT saying that you can do literally anything if you just try hard enough ***obviously some stories do have destiny built into them in the form of, like, prophecies or whatever, but that’s not what I’m talking about here

A bunch of answers 4 and recap
Hi everyone,
I’m sorry for my lack of answers, I’m trying to keep up with the current airing whumps’ lists but also completing the finished shows’ one and the new seasons’ episodes’ ones:
* The current airing shows’ lists are all updated: Law & Order SVU, The Flash, Magnum PI, Taxi Driver; I’ll soon watch Carnival Row and update it with the first two episodes aired as well;
* I am doing a whumpslist for Will Trent, which is currently airing, and the books by Karin Slaughter the TV show is based on, I'm still undecided whether to publish it or wait to complete them all. What would you prefer?;
* I have to update the Titans' list with the first part of the fourth season;
* I’ve finally updated the Prodigal Son's list with the second season (I will reblog it right after this post); The Boys' one has already been updated with the third season;
* I’ve recentely updated Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and Strike (TV show and books) too, and posted a new K-list, The Veil;
* I have started to watch the second season of The Witcher (I’ve watched the prequel Blood Origin and enjoyed it so much);
* I have K-drama The K-2 list to complete from... forever, I will gather my courage to finish it and goodbye one of my favorite character; same for The Musketeers, only a bunch of episodes left to review...
You can find all the lists and the links into the Whumpslist’s links Sheet here. Plus, I've made another sheet to include all my gifs, short clips and audios posted as Tumblr allows only a certain amount to links into a single post.
-- . .- -. .-- .... .. .-.. .
Meanwhile I’ve received many messages, I’ll gather the answers here into a single post.
Have you ever seen doctor who or torchwood? cuz they have a lot of whump, especially jack harkness
Doctor Who would take an eternity to be watched from the first episode, besides it’s not my kind of show so I’ve never watched it. Neither Torchwood, and that’s because I don’t like John Barrowman very much.
in your endeavor post, what ep was the second to last gif from?
Hi Anon, I suppose you mean the post of January 12th. It’s from Endeavour 1.00 “The Origins of Inspector Morse" when he’s listening at the Rosalind Galloway’s disc.
Ooo have you watched ER I’ve wanting a whump list for John Carter
Sorry @marahm30, I’ve never fully watched it back in the days, only some (whumpy) episodes already reported into The Whumpapedia.
I love love love your lists! Do you think you'd ever do Stargate SG1? I have a list of the daniel whump eps from the first handful of seasons, I'd be happy to help if you wanted to make a list
Maybe, @ravenwingdark, but surely not in the foreseeable future, my hands are full.
would it be possible for you to do Rise of the teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Series and the movie? I saw that you had done the 2003 version and was wondering if you would do the 2018-2020 one
You’re mistaken, @the-true-alpha-04, I’ve never watched nor compiled a list for it neither I will do it in the future, sorry @rachealwolf25.
Clay Spencer
Nope, as I’ve already answered it several times: I will not do a list for SEAL Team, I've only made a gifset for episode 2.17. Despite the potential, it’s pretty lacking in whumps (even if the last season had some improvements). The ones shown are widely reviewed in The Whumpapedia, though.
Do you know any good Chloro Man scenes from shows?
Interesting trope, Anon! Not one of my kind, so I can’t really recall some specifically, but I report it in my lists when it happens. Maybe you can use a selected filter to serch it into The Whumpapedia, though.
Could you do whump lists of…Forever, TVD, The originals, Legacies and other crime sci-fi shows?
It’s highly unlikely it will happen, sorry @anonymous-persona, especially the vampire shows, because of the immortality things, whumps are almost pointless...
Hi! would you be able to make a list for the Mandalorian? specifically pedro pascal’s character! thank you
I’ve thought of making one while I was watching it, but they are just a few, plus Pascal always wears the mask and it’s limitating.
do you know of any whump from All Saints, the '00s australian medical drama? the stabbing episode whumpypepsigal posted was amazing, but the whumpapedia doesn't have much to offer for more... i don't know if the show just isn't very whumpy or if it hasn't been combed through yet, but maybe you'd know, or people in the notes would? thanks!
Nope, I don’t know the show. After receiving your message, I’ve looked for it but I was unable to retrieve it. Please, let me know if you have more luck.
That’s all, folks!

She wasn't always like this.
It wasn’t always messy words screamed in anger and torn apart syllables. It wasn’t shattered glass and shattered parts of herself, a wreckage in the storm. And it wasn’t a stream of negligence, silence hanging in the air, unintentional at best.
In the cold nights of winter, it would feel like a ghost swallowed in the dark, like a walking corpse floating silently down the halls. The grey skies would engulf her whole being in the mornings, unable to let her move or get out of bed. She wouldn’t eat, she wouldn’t sleep, she wouldn’t tend to things that needed to be tended to. Some days she’d swear she’d burn this whole city, a bitterness in her throat as she grumbled the words lying under the covers.
But she wasn't always like this.
In the months of a new spring or in the sweet heat of the summer, she would be different, completely reborn of ashes. It was as if her body would wake up from slumber, rejuvenated and refreshed, and in the midst of her slowly healing soul, she would hold a small, little boy in her arms. She would sway him and sing him lullabies to sleep, and as he got older, she would kiss his injuries and welcome him to her bed when he had nightmares. And when he got older still, she would run her fingers through his dark hair and she would make him breakfast, cutting up fruit for him. She would lay kiwis, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, really any kind of berry, on a plate. Oranges and melons, apples and bananas. But as he got even older still, she told him that pomegranates were her favourite.
He would watch her slice open the rind and fiddle with the seeds, a yellow hazy glow surrounding her. The details of her face were hard to decipher, but her smile and warmth was there. It was a warmth as radiant as the sun. And that warmth would just slip away. Just when he felt like he could reach up and touch her, she always slipped away.
“Robbe,” he heard her voice, sweet as honey in the thick air. It echoed and faded into ringing.
“Robbe.”
His eyes abruptly opened and his body jolted in bed. Light peeked from the windows of his shared apartment, illuminating his room. The ringing hadn’t stopped and he realized it was the alarm on his phone buzzing. He let out a groan and turned it off. When his eyes focused on the screen, they widened to see the time. 08:35. He was late. He was very, very late.
Jumping out of bed, he threw on the shirt closest to him and headed for the bathroom. It was locked and as Robbe jostled the doorknob, he knew who was inside.
“Milan! Milan come on,” he yelled through the door. He brought his ear closer to hear him singing in the shower, completely unaware of his state of panic. Robbe sighed.
Just then, Zoë emerged from her room shuffling through the purse in her hands. She had an almost frantic look on her face as well.
“Robbe, have you seen my charger? I can’t find it and I have to meet Senne soon,” she asked him.
Sure enough, she was dressed for the fall weather, wearing a loose beige sweater layered over a fitted black full-sleeve, her blonde hair immaculately straight and her lips tainted with her favourite red lipstick. The effort wasn’t just all for Senne, but Robbe could smell the perfume he helped her buy and he noticed the extra rings she wore on her fingers. He could sense her frustration in not wanting to be late, to see him as soon as possible.
“Maybe try under the couch cushions,” he suggested. “Things always get stuck there.”
As Zoë turned into the living room to squeeze her hands through the cushions, Robbe tried knocking once more, calling out Milan’s name. When she returned with her charger, she thanked him and gave him a look of realization.
“Shouldn’t you be in class by now?” she asked.
“Slept in. And Milan is not helping,” Robbe rolled his eyes.
“Milan!” Zoë knocked. She turned back to Robbe. “He’ll be out soon. I hope,” she added. “We’re still meeting up tonight, right?”
She doubled checked her bag for her keys, her phone, and other essentials, then looked up to see how distracted Robbe looked. His mind was elsewhere, drifting through the memories of his dream, eyes fixated to the side. He could feel her watching him.
“Robbe?” Zoë asked. Robbe’s brown eyes lifted to meet hers finally and he tried to muster up the best smile he could manage.
“Yeah,” he said. Zoë didn’t look convinced but she also didn’t want to push him, especially when both of them were pressed for time and she knew how much Robbe didn’t like being late. So instead she opted to reach out and squeeze his shoulder with a solemn smile.
“I’ll see you tonight, then,” she said as she hurriedly left the apartment, the door clicking closed.
Robbe heard the shower stop and a humming Milan with a pink towel on his head opened the bathroom door.
“Finally!” he threw his hands up as he entered, ignoring Milan teasing him with a
“Wow, someone’s in a grumpy mood.” -
By the time Robbe rushed outside with his bike, the sun hid behind the clouds of grey skies. It smelled like rain, the petrichor oozing off the streets of Antwerp and as he rode, pedalling faster than ever, his energy depleted. His initial panic had worn off and now he just felt dread about going to class. As he turned a corner to the university, his mind kept seeping memories from his dream this morning. He always felt a twinge of bittersweet whenever he thought about his mother, but she never left his mind or heart.
The time spent with her in the summers, laughter floating through the air and the feeling of sadness when autumn came and she had to leave or the lonely winters when he was younger and it was just him and his papa, it all still burned in his memory. He’d just seen her the past month, but she had left again for therapy treatment. He’d speak with his dad from time to time with awkward pleasantries shared, but it just wasn’t the same, What little time he could spend with her, he cherished and whenever she left, he felt a gaping hole in his chest. God, he missed his mama.
Robbe quietly snuck into the lecture hall for his plant biology course, shaking his curls and trying not to rustle his brown jacket as he took it off. He sat in his seat next to Yasmina who gave him a squinty-eyed look.
“What?” he whispered.
“You’re late,” she whispered back.
“Yeah, and?”
“You’re never late.”
He glanced at her, her olive green hijab perfectly wrapped around her head and her pens laid on the desk neatly next to her notebook. Always on time, always prepared.
“Sorry,” was all he could say as he took out his own notebook, irritated that it was true but he couldn’t do anything about it now.
Yasmina looked like she wanted to say something but just then the door to the class opened and a student walked in. He slipped by unseen and promptly took what seemed to be the only seat available: next to Robbe. Others may not have noticed him, but Robbe’s eyes had followed him all the way until he sat down. He was donned in all black, shirt, jeans, jacket all black and his bleached blond hair looked almost white under the fluorescent lights. He had a strong jawline and perfectly tanned skin, radiating a glow Robbe didn’t know was possible.
When he glanced over at him, Robbe had turned his head back to his notebook so fast, he might have gotten whiplash. He tried to focus on the professor and his notes instead. Scribbling down the names of plants being mentioned, he also tried to slow his breathing. But that was pointless when the boy leaned over to look at his writing.
“You write the names in Latin and Greek?” he asked.
Robbe wasn’t expecting that question, yet he lifted his head to answer.
“Yeah,” he drawled slowly.
“Strange,” was all the boy said before looking straight ahead to the professor.
And Robbe didn’t know why but it irked him. For as long as he could remember, he’d been able to read and write in Greek and he would always accompany any Latin with Greek. Who was this guy, coming into class late, not even notebooks or a laptop open for notes, and what made him feel the need to comment on his notes? He hadn’t even seen him in class before now. If it wasn’t for the fact that he still felt groggy after waking up late, he’d probably say something, but instead he seethed in silence for the next hour and a half.
Once class ended and everyone packed up to leave, Robbe saw him glance over at him one more time, like he was deciding something, unsure and suspicious. Like he was sensing something. Sensing him.
Then he left.
“We’re studying Thursday for the midterm, right?” Yasmina piped up behind him. Robbe was almost startled.
“Yep,” he told her. “At 16:00?”
“Sounds good. Who was that?” she tilted her head at the now empty space where the boy had been.
“I don’t know. Never seen him before in this class,” Robbe shrugged.
“Me neither. Probably just transferred from another course or got off the waitlist for this one.”
“Probably.”
“I’m sorry I can’t make it tonight for the get-together,” Yasmina said as she lifted her bag. Robbe, his flat mates, and all their friends planned to spend some time together tonight at the apartment. It had been a while since all of them had been together, what with school and their own lives muddling in-between. Second year in uni for Robbe was turning out to be much easier than his first, but he still wanted to find time to dedicate to relaxing with his friends. Yasmina had been able to make it once before, but mostly she had to keep missing them.
“That’s ok. You know, you don’t have to apologize every time,” Robbe smiled at her.
“I know,” she returned the smile. “It’s just I really have to help out my parents and I wish I could be there.”
“Next time,” he blinked with a slight nod, lips curving up with sincerity.
“Maybe you could invite your new friend, too,” she teased.
“Again, I don’t know him,” he rolled his eyes.
While walking out of class together, he tried to ignore the nagging feeling inside of him that he would, get to know him that is. The nauseating feeling that irony would catch up to him. That feeling that there was something about that boy and he couldn’t be sure about him either.
The one that told him he sensed something in him too.

Can you rank your fave CoD antagonists?
Hello there nonny, sorry for taking so long to reply and thank you for your ask ♥♥
Rank my favorite CoD antagonists? Sure, I can do that! There are several antagonists in the series, but I’ll only rank my top 3. Hope that is okay with you c:
3. Jonathan Irons
Tumblr media
Original gif
Advanced Warfare may not be a series as popular as BO or MW, but I actually enjoyed the game and I also liked Irons. Honestly, I don’t think we’ve gotten that many antagonists that started out as our allies in CoD (at least I don’t remember any others atm), much any less an American antagonist, so that kinda made him stand out to me.
I’m not familiar with Kevin Spacey’s works, and I barely watched any trailers pre-release. So to see Irons go from someone who I believed genuinely wanted to make the world a better place, where every human being could live in peace and thrive, away from the pointless wars that governments waged, to someone who was willing to use any means necessary to achieve his goals, regardless of how many lives he had to sacrifice... well, that was something that hit me hard.
This man who gave my character a second chance, who treated me (Mitchell) as his son, who cleaned up after the colossal mess that others countries made, helped people from devastated war-zones rebuild their lives and gave them hope for the future, turned out to be someone I was forced to betray because of different viewpoints and philosophies. Despite everything, I think Irons had his heart in the right place, but his methods were ultimately terrible and in his messianic delusions he ended up doing more harm than good, so of course he had to be stopped.
And what I liked about him was that he didn’t start out as a bad man, he didn’t do all those things because of greed, and his characterization wasn’t that of a cartoonish villain. In a way I could find logic in his arguments, he made a few good points about the current state of the world and the inability (or indifference) of many politicians to solve the real problems of the people. But the root of it all lies in the loss of his son, his only child, to a government he no longer trusted nor had any faith in doing what was right. Despite having served in the military in his youth, Irons had grown disillusioned at the way the US handled domestic and international policy, and strongly disagreed with them— opposing the status quo in favor of change.
One could argue that serving in the military was entirely Will’s choice all along, and as a grown adult he knew what he was getting himself into. Still Irons couldn’t help but think that if that war had never happened, Will would still be alive. So that left him with a bitter taste, and it served as the catalyst behind his actions.
If nobody else would bother to do anything to actually solve the world’s problems, then he would be the savior to do it— whether they liked it or not. And he didn’t care what methods he had to use, how many had to die, or if he had to plunge the world into total chaos before he could ultimately end all wars and bring everlasting “peace” (perhaps one of the greatest ironies) as his dream seemed to be. Even at the cost of such a high price.
I don’t think Irons gets the credit he deserves.
2. Raúl Menéndez
Tumblr media
Original gifset
BO2 is one of my favorite games and Raúl is undoubtedly one of the most memorable antagonists in the series. Much like Irons, his actions were heavily motivated by the loss of a loved one but his life is also one sad story, so it’s no wonder he turned out the way he did. Not to justify him, but it’s not hard to understand what led him to do all those things.
From a very young age, his life was destroyed by the actions of Americans, from the horrors of the dictatorship in Nicaragua (in which the Contras were supported by the US); the crippling and disfigurement of his young sister Josefina, due to the greed of an American owner who burned down a warehouse in order to obtain 11,000$ through insurance fraud. After losing everything during an earthquake, and becoming homeless, Raúl and his father started over by selling drugs, successfully establishing a cartel that was so powerful in Nicaragua that they were equally feared and admired among the people.
But this status and power they had newly acquired concerned the US government, and it wasn't long before they sanctioned an assassination order on Raúl's father and sent the CIA in to kill him. Raúl observed it all, a teenager back then, and managed to escape thanks to his father's training. Though he could do nothing to stop it, nothing to save his father, this event marked him and further embittered him against the US and the West. And the last straw was the unfortunate death of Josefina, at the hands of Woods. He lost his sister, the only living relative he had, and his world fell apart. But if we think about it, Raúl was indirectly responsible for her death too, after the horrible torture he put Woods through in Angola. So the next time Woods saw Raúl he lost his mind and threw the grenade that tragically bounced into Josefina's bedroom and killed her.
So he spent all his life orchestrating a huge plan, a brilliant plan, that would shake the US from the very ground. And he was damn charismatic while executing it, earning the support and approval of billions of people all around the world— even from those who lived in US soil!— to begin a world revolution and end the dominance of capitalist nations that had subjugated other weaker countries, amassing huge riches through market economy and wars for resources, destroying lives and sinking many in poverty. And he also manipulates and pits two superpowers against each other... sending everyone to the brink of another world war, or a second cold war at best.
He wanted revenge on the US for playing with the lives of other people, for taking everything he loved away from him, by making them live in fear and destroying everything they had built. He wanted them to feel the same pain, to suffer the way he did. And he wouldn't rest until he achieved that because he had nothing to lose anymore.
Depending on the outcome, he can get revenge on Woods for Josefina, as well. And though we all like it when the "good" guys prevail and foil the plans of the villain, I think this particular ending had a much deeper and stronger emotional impact. The conversation they have at the end is something I didn't expect. Raúl has come to kill Woods but they're both in a place where the years have beaten them down with the weight of they’ve done and rather than an over the top scene, what we’re given is quite the opposite of that.
There’s no screaming, no heated argument between them, no dramatic lines. It’s just two old men who had to live with what they’ve done, and who have come to terms with the inevitability of that moment. Raúl slits Woods’s artery with Josefina’s pendant, and then he does something that surprised me: he closes Frank’s eyes, takes him off the wheelchair and lies his body on the bed. Something that is a huge contrast with what he did to Hudson many years ago... the savagery he used when killing him. For Raúl to behave that way with Woods, the man he considered to be his sister’s killer, it raises the question as to whether he still hated Woods after all these years, or maybe deep down he finally acknowledges that his actions (namely torturing Woods and killing his whole team) was the true motive that led to Josefina’s death.
The thing is, Raúl knows that he's to blame for what happened. It's also the reason why he burns himself alive in front of Josefina's grave. It’s because he has to pay for what he's done to her, too, and he chose to do it in probably the most horrible way possible but it didn’t matter to him. Nothing was more painful than living with the knowledge that his sister died because of what he did.
To him Josefina was the true innocent soul, who didn't deserve any of the suffering she went through.
1. Vladimir Makarov
Tumblr media
Original gifset
It’s no secret that Vladimir is my most favorite antagonist (and character) in all of Call of Duty.
Though his background and motives weren’t as well developed and explained as those of other antagonists in the series, his untold story (which you won’t find anywhere in the game, though you can deduce if you have a basic idea of the situation before and after the fall of the Soviet Union) perhaps says a lot more about him than one might expect.
There’s not a lot we know about his past other than the meager information that was provided in some loading cutscenes, but it’s reasonable to think that Vladimir wasn’t always the trashbag that we see in the games. He once was a young man with dreams of patriotism, who wanted the best for his country, who loved Russia with his soul, and who would do anything to protect her, because as a soldier that was what he was taught to do. As a soldier, that was his purpose in life and without that reason to drive him on, he had nothing left.
And however vague his backstory may seem to be, it gives you an idea that Vladimir in a way was a victim of a system that imparted a type of soft indoctrination on him, from a very young age (as many states do all around the world in some form or another, even those who hold democratic values), all the way to his education in the military academy and his brutal training in the special forces, that further cemented this undying love for Russia, maybe in a way that bordered brainwashing.
His true radicalization came after the fall of the Soviet Union with the loss of his homeland and the Soviet culture as he knew it, as well as Russia becoming weak and losing much of her power and influence across the world. Then came his deployment in Chechnya in 1994, where he lived the horrors of a war that most likely left him psychologically scarred after the experiences he had to go through. And when he returned home, he was kicked out of the armed forces under accusations of human rights violations during the First Chechen War. And they may be true, he probably did a lot of bad things there (under the illusion that he was serving his country for a higher cause), and sadly it’s something commonplace in many armed conflicts. I’m going to leave this short post here for some details on that.
When he returned from war, he didn’t receive any professional help or if he did, it didn’t work. He didn’t know how to cope, he ultimately was unable to adapt to a normal life, he became a misfit. He had lost his job, he had a stain in his career, and finding a decent way to get by was very difficult at the time when the country was in the middle of a political, social, and economic crisis.
He was in financial ruin, and it was hunger that pushed him to become a criminal (something that wasn’t uncommon for ex military men in 90s Russia). Not just that but also hatred for those in power as well as society as a whole, and what they represented: total decadence and the reason why Russia was falling apart with these “stupid” western conceptions about freedom that in his eyes did nothing but give leeway for debauchery and corruption, which he ultimately sought to “fix” by returning Russia to what it used to be (a god-fearing empire under the autocratic rule of a tsar that was likened to a father to all his subjects, and where religion was used as a resource to legitimize his power and as a moral regulator that maintained the social order).
He pretty much felt abandoned, betrayed by his government— a leadership that had done nothing but sink Russia deeper and deeper into ruin, destroying the values under which he was raised and turning people like him into cynical masses that had lost faith in everything and were adrift without any real purpose in life, no future to look forward to, completely disillusioned that the dreams they’d bought into, the promises they had been sold by the west, were nothing but lies.
He’s still a piece of garbage, we know that, but I also think that he’s gone through a lot of struggles and bad experiences in his youth that marked him and filled him with resentment. Everyone sees Vladimir as the puppet master of the storyline of MW, and we have to give him credit for that, but deep down he’s just a man who has been a slave to his own obsessions and ambitions, unable to free himself from the hatred that has poisoned his mind for years, which led him to commit so many atrocities and strip himself from any semblance of humanity— all for the sake of a higher cause, as he undoubtedly tried to justify his actions at the end of the day.
In conclusion, all three were marked by losses in one way or another, and saw themselves as men who had to take the hard path and do what had to be done. And it’s also curious that Call of Duty, while not a game with any deep meaning on the surface, almost seems like social commentary on how war ruins lives and how anyone can do horrible things if put through the wringer enough times. It’s like these stories are trying to say that bad circumstances can make bad men out of seemingly good people, who wouldn’t have done any of the evil they did if maybe things had been different.
And I think that’s what makes these characters so interesting.

EDIT: Since the making of this post, beingpassionateabout has apologized to shy-peacock in a respectful and earnest fashion. She and I have had a civil conversation and I have apologized for misjudging her. We still disagree on certain things, of course, but can do so respectfully.
I still feel that Isa can be overly hostile and antagonistic to others, including those in her own ship, and the words she said about me today when I did my best to make this post as respectful and calm as possible still sting. Many of my feelings about Isa’s behavior still stand, though I never meant this post as an attack on her - merely a discussion of the times I have seen her behavior hurt friends of mine.
I am glad, at least, that positive things have been able to come of this post, like beingpassionateabout and shy-peacock being able to patch things up. That is a testament to shy-peacock’s sweetness.
Elsanna has been my OTP since 2015. I’ve dedicated years of my life to this blog and still cherish the beauty of the ship as deeply as the day I first admitted I shipped it. Yes, in the intervening years, I’ve become a multi-shipper, but my love of Elsanna has never dimmed and it’s out of that love that I’m choosing to speak up now.
I’m concerned with the way hereisisa and beingpassionateabout push fellow Elsanna shippers away with their overly-confrontational and antagonistic attitudes.
Before Frozen 2 came out, I remember when hereisisa reposted a piece of demonfencer’s art. When fellow Elsanna shippers told her that she could reblog the piece from the artist’s tumblr or at least link to the artist, instead of listening she blocked fellow shippers (x). (I recognize that now isa gives credit for the art she reposts, but the fact she reacted so negatively initially shows the overzealousness of her personality - even when engaging with fellow EA shippers.)
More recently, isa lashed out at @shy-peacock because shy-peacock disagreed with the overly-negative things isa was saying about Honeymaren’s voice actress (x) Both isa and beingpassionateabout mocked shy-peacock and blocked her in spite of the fact that shy-peacock ships Elsanna and loved isa’s blog. This hurt her deeply (x). All shy-peacock was saying was that Isa did not need to be so rude about the voice actress, and for that reason, Isa chose to shut her out - regardless of the fact she ships Elsanna. (Personally, I agree with shy-peacock. Isa can dislike any character she wishes, but I feel like her tone towards voice actors is overly extreme. She’s made negative personal comments about Kristen Bell as well.)
Finally, Isa and beingpassionateabout’s behavior has alienated @angelshizuka, distancing her more an more from the ship. Angelshizuka, like shy-peacock, can vouch for this - and before anyone accuses her of being a multi-shipper who is biased in favor of KA or EM, I want to remind everyone that she was shipping Elsanna from the very beginning and making beautiful gifsets for the ship. She has defended EA and ships like it for ages, and stood tall against antis. The only thing pushing her away now is the painful experiences she has had with people like Isa and beingpassionateabout. And Serena, I’m so sorry.
The thing that vexes me about isa and beingpassionateabout is that they can behave like antis - and as Elsanna shippers, we know firsthand how horrible antis can be and do we really want to be like that? Recently, I recall @dee-house discussing how EM and EA can coexist and negativity towards EM is pointless, and Isa decided to start a fight over that. Again, dee ships Elsanna, but I guess that hardly matters to Isa (x).
Elsanna is a ship rooted in True Love, a love that spreads warmth across Arendelle - touching the farthest reaches of the land, touching the hearts of everyone therein. It is a beautiful and all-encompassing love, and as Elsanna shippers, we should follow the example of Anna and Elsa and be open-hearted. People like Isa and beingpassionateabout push fellow Elsanna shippers away, suggest that they don’t belong for one reason or another. But if you ship Elsanna and you’re kind, you belong. Maybe you disagree with someone’s negative behavior, but that doesn’t make you less than. Maybe you’re a multi-shipper, but that doesn’t mean you love Elsanna any less - and hereisisa’s and beingpassionateabout’s gatekeeping seems like a painfully narrow and hostile attitude to create from a ship that is so truly loving and all-embracing.
I still love Elsanna so much (and indeed, just a few days ago I was venting about anti-EA negativity I’ve been forced to witness as a multi-shipper, so if someone wants to use my multi-shipping against me, remember that I’ve also condemned negativity from anti-EA people) and, as Elsanna shippers, I know we are all stronger together. There’s no need to gatekeep or be mean to fellow shippers (there’s no need to be mean to anyone). As shy-peacock pointed out, “We have enough people mean to us as is.”
And I know that there are so many open-hearted, loving, understanding people out there who ship Elsanna. And we can focus our efforts on making beautiful fanart, creating beautiful fanfiction, spreading the beautiful love of our ship instead of negativity.

Luna/Aranea or Cindy for the ask thing!
lady time~♫
under cut cuz it’s kinda long (but sorry if mobile fucks it up)
Luna (i haven’t watched kingsglaive so i might be missing some things. this is p much only based off the main game)
Fav thing about them: i really liked that one cut scene after her death with her and noctis because got that one was really pretty. also that one scene in altissia where the imperial soldiers barge in and point guns at her and she just stands up, brushes the gun aside, and walks away like “fucking shoot me, i dare you” like damn u go bitch ♥
Least fav thing about them: this has probably been said a million times before but honestly she doesn’t even feel like a character, but more of a plot device. if noct is gonna be forced to leave his 3 whole ass boyfriends behind to take a nap with her forever, at least give us some reason to even remotely like her as a character. give her a few lines that sound like something a real human person would say. give her realistic, personal relationships with someone. gentiana or ravus would have been perfect considering she was so close with gentiana and ravus is her fucking brother. i don’t care about how artsy and poetic her and noctis’s sacrifices were, give us something to demonstrates how close they were personally and how they genuinely enjoyed each other’s company as friends rather than tragic lovers. give her something that wasn’t solely related to the plot and developed her character in some way. luna deserved better :(
Fav line: "when you find yourself alone, amid a lightless place, look to the distance. know that i am there and that i watch over you always.” honestly it’s hard to pick one since every one of her lines is some cryptic bullshit to do with the gods
OTP: *vibrates* luna/shiva/ifrit. also her/gentiana
brOTP: her + gentiana!!
nOTP: her + noct >:( also not a big fan of her/cindy just cuz i don’t particularly like either of them kind of for the same reasons. it is kinda cute tho!
Random headcanon: she would look really nice in casual/modern clothing instead of long formal dresses that she always wears in canon. also she would be a really good fighter if given the chance like noctis and the gang were throughout the game.
Unpopular opinion: probably not unpopular but all her outfits fucking ugly (except for kingsglaive). also can’t stand her voice.
Song I associate with them: “saturn” by sleeping at last? not sure if the lyrics fit her perfectly but idk i feel like she’d do well with star-themed songs, plus it just sounds nice
Favorite picture of them:
either this gifset
Tumblr media
or this art of her and gentiana! ♥

Aranea
Fav thing about them: she’s like. the only likeable female character in the game. i mean shiva. bby i would die for u, but i gotta admit. aranea’s the only one who feels like she has a personality outside of furthering the plot. also the fact that she shares both her english and japanese voice actors with celty from durarara is super cool bc 1) drrr is my fav anime and 2) both of their personalities are really similar and i think it fits them really well!
Least fav thing about them: i wish we could have gotten her dlc!! the female characters in this game needed all the character development they could get and square enix did them dirty >:( ep aranea sounded like it would’ve been so interesting and i would have loved to see more aranea stuff
Fav line: she called noctis “prince charming” once and i cried (i think it was if you loose to her in training at the camps?)
OTP: hmmnnn…?
brOTP: her and prompto, her/biggs/wedge :3
nOTP: her/ignis, her/prompto
Random headcanon: she’s ace!! everyone in ffxv is ace!! but her especially!!
Unpopular opinion: she’s not my type :/ as cool as she is, i can’t really like her all that much just cuz badass lady characters aren’t my thing.
Song I associate with them:
Favorite picture of them: this one mermaid design of her!!
Tumblr media
-
Cindy
Fav thing about them: i guess i like her enthusiasm to her work and the fact that despite prompto’s crush on her, she didn’t end up being just another love interest in a pointless straight relationship. we’ve got enough of those already.
Least fav thing about them: she makes me uncomfortable…for obvious reasons i think…like game, was that really necessary?? did u really have to do her like that??? did u really have to do her dirty in front of her (grand) dad????
Fav line: “now, which one’s the prince?” *cue noctis popping up from behind the regalia with his lil miqote cat ears n tail* she doesn’t have a lot of good lines since they’re mostly about fixing cars n stuff
OTP: nuthin romantically!
brOTP: her and prompto! i feel like they would have made a great sibling/sibling-like relationship and i think it’s really cute that their last names mean gold and silver :3
nOTP: her/prompto romantically
Random headcanon: dunno if i have any that i would stand by too strongly but i do like the idea that she’d have some muscle, especially in her arms! i mean she’s a mechanic so it’d make sense, right? maybe at least a little beefier than prompto. she could probably carry him bridal style.
Unpopular opinion: she…. lowkey scares me :(
Song I associate with them:
Favorite picture of them: i don’t see a lot of art/pics of her but i really like this one cindy recolor mod! the black and blue look really nice :D

rwby color trailer analysis!
yes, i’m still here! i’m sorry i’ve been inactive--i’m a sophomore in college and this stuff eats up my time more than i’d like. but i do have a treat for you: some short analyses of the four “color” trailers for RWBY! as recommended to me by @hon-b, who i can’t seem to @ for some reason. i need a break from finals work so here’s some good ol’-fashioned critique talk~
so let’s start out with the Red trailer. the opening shots of this one are straight-up beautiful. and the fight scene with the grimm(?) is really nice... surprisingly violent for something i thought was intended for teens. i like how it’s a red riding hood parallel, especially since i don’t think we’ve had enough fairy tale references yet and the lack of them is starting to stick out. watching ruby wield that death-gun-scythe-thing whose name i can’t recall off the top of my head is just fantastic! we’ve even got a red-black-white color scheme going throughout the video to tie everything together. i think the vocals are still kind of wonky though--the singer’s clearly having some trouble hitting the high notes. there’s not a lot of substance here since it’s basically just an extended fight scene, but it seems to exist to get people hype for the show and it does that super well so i’m not gonna fault it for being a little shallow. my rating: tumblr gifset-worthy! also why do the links to the white and black trailers work at the end but not the yellow one wtf
~
moving onto the White trailer now... so this one opens up with a quote... and even a little bit of dialogue. it’s a little distracting after the complete lack of speech in the red trailer, but i guess it works. weiss’s singing is very pretty--the high notes are spot-on this time, which is awesome!--and the opening visuals are beautiful. not that i want to question the music too hard, but isn’t the “mirror, mirror on the wall” thing referencing the evil queen? at least the instrumentation is gorgeous here, especially the opening piano! i’m not sure if the elaborate fight scene is necessary here, honestly. a fight scene works, yes, but here it’s so dramatic and tense that it detracts from the music. i get that it’s supposed to be a contrast with the opening and ending scenes, but it’s a little too strong of a contrast for me. the fact that the bloodstain on her face disappears at the end is even weirder; like, was that supposed to be an illusion, or something she was thinking about? what i do like, though, is the final visual of weiss curtsying in an empty space--the applause rings hollow. as the lyrics of the song state, she is truly the loneliest of all. i guess this one tried to be a little deeper than the red trailer and it shows. nice work! my rating: beautiful music, needs some work with the transitions. weiss’s weaponry simply isn’t as cool as ruby’s and that makes her fights less interesting to watch for now. the link to the yellow trailer still ain’t workin’
~
and now for the Black trailer! alright, so we're opening up with another quote. these quotes feel a little too abstract to mean anything at this point, so they might not be necessary, but we'll see. i'm not impressed with the fact that blake doesn't get to do her trailer on her own like ruby and weiss did. also the music is subpar at best, and definitely the worst of the ones i've heard so far. the electronic parts just don't work for me, at all. on the plus-side, the scenery is beautiful, but we spend portions of the trailer inside a train car where we can't even see it! as cool as a fight scene on top of a train is, i don't think the trailer really shows off what can be done with it. i just recently watched the incredibles 2, which has an awesome scene of elastigirl trying to stop a train--coming to this afterward is pretty disappointing, even though i obviously don't expect rwby to be pixar-level. the dialogue here is really hammy and phoned-in, especially with adam. i really don't like the fact that it's here at all, actually. the red trailer didn't need dialogue to tell its story, and it could've been removed in the white trailer too. so why is it here when it absolutely doesn't need to be? also... where was the fairy tale parallel here? did i miss it? my rating: Unnecessary Man Appearance. let blake handle it herself, dammit. or at least don't have him speak because his voice makes me roll my eyes big-time. ALSO THE LINK TO THE YELLOW TRAILER STILL ISN'T THERE
~
finishing up with the Yellow trailer. yang has a lot to live up to here, being the last of the four to have a trailer. and unfortunately hers follows up on the black trailer's trend of unnecessary dialogue. the voice-acting isn't as bad as the black trailer's, but there's more of it and it doesn't need to be here at ALL. especially with the two girls yang fights--they didn't need to speak, or really do much at all. their appearance takes away from yang's badassery, just a little bit. so does her whole crotch-kick thing, which feels unnecessarily comedic and kinda pointless. it feels as if they tried too hard to make her "cool" and it just comes off as awkward and forced. on the plus-side, the scenery gets WAY better the moment yang steps into the club (walk into the club like waddup i got a big...uh...heart), going back to those nice color schemes from the other trailers. and my favorite thing about this trailer by far is the music--i love the remixes of the other girls' themes and how they build up to a fantastic theme for yang. once again, though, it's hindered by the dialogue. i'm still not a big fan of the voice-acting in this show, and ruby and yang's exchange at the end absolutely doesn't need to be here! honestly i'd rather just see yang look up, meet ruby's gaze, and then give her a kind, knowing smile. that would do a lot more for us than a cheesy bit of talking. i guess i've hardly talked about the fight scene here, so here's how i feel about it: HELL YEAH HELL YEAH HELL YEAH KICK ASS OUT THERE my rating: would be my favorite trailer if it weren't for the dialogue. also, if this is supposed to be a "culmination" trailer and ruby and blake appear briefly, where did weiss go? did i miss her? so many questions!
~
so there you have it, folks. just some casual musings on the color trailers. no individual screenshots or anything because these are too isolated and there isn't much i can comment on. but overall i liked them and i think (aside from the wonky dialogue and such) they're a great way to get you hyped for the show! now if only the show would follow their example and try to be a little more, uh... intense? maybe?
see ya later! and sorry for the wait! i’ll try to be more active soon, i promise! -russell <3

Leaked 7x06
Because HBO can’t seem to get a break lately, and fortunately enough for me, episode 6 got leaked. Apparently it was ‘accidentally’ aired from HBO SPAIN. And though I can’t speak for the legitimacy of that, but if it is true then I know somewhere that some poor fucker is getting soooo done for it. Glad I’m not them.
Anyway, I need to vent my thoughts. It’s no surprise that the episode was absolutely amazing. The best episode of the series so far, I feel, which is funny because not two episodes ago I thought 7x04 would have been my favourite. But this just blew me away.
The battle wasn’t like the Loot Train or the Battle of the Bastards, no two minute tracking shots and war blazing all around. This was far more personal, it wasn’t about winning, it was about surviving. The closeness of all the shots really made you feel the claustrophobia of a hundred thousand wights swarming you. There were epic moments, no doubt. Each time Beric set his sword aflame my foot nearly went through my screen, especially when he and Thoros did it simultaneously to fight a FUCKING WIGHT BEAR.  Major Revenant flashbacks, yo.
Also, we learnt that the wights function on some sort of hive mind basis. When Jon DEMOLISHES a white walker (like seriously, Jon’s streak of fucking them up seems endless) a bunch of the wights instantly fall. This obviously suggests that killing the Night King will kill all the rest of them. To be honest, I can’t think of another way they can actually destroy them. Especially now, when we see that the dragons aren’t invincible against them.
Speaking of, Daenerys my friends. I really can’t abide any more complaints about her character being selfish after this episode. Her most trusted adviser literally begs her to not go beyond the Wall, but she does anyway because it’s right (Gendry manages to get back to Eastwatch and send a raven. Tell you what, he’s got a great cardiovascular system that Gendry has.) She saves all the others, whilst Jon holds the wights off. Some of his best fighting imo. But the look on Dany’s face as she watchers Viserion die, bloody hell. It was unreal.
Jon tells them to go when sees the Night King getting another javelin ready. Yes, it’s more a javelin than a chuffing spear, the boy thinks he’s in the Olympics or something. But as he’s running back to Drogon, wights swarm Jon and he falls beneath the ice. You can see Daenerys having to pull herself away from looking at him, the struggle between Jon/Viserion/and actually fleeing.
She gets away, and Jon gets back up. He already knows he’s a dead man. If the wights didn’t kill him, hypothermia would. But through a crowd Benjen comes swingin’. I cannot wait to the see the gifsets. He saves Jon, sacrificing himself.
Now, to go to my main focus, which is pure Jonerys. Daenerys stands on the Wall, overlooking the land beyond and waiting. “It’s time to go,” Jorah tells her, but she asks for another moment. The thought of Viserion has not left her mind, you can see, and she stares at the edge of a forest hoping that Jon will return. Just as she turns, we hear the horn. One blast for ranger’s returning.
They get him on a boat, and more importantly Daenerys finally sees his scars. It was no figure of speech. When he wakes up, she’s sitting over him. Lets not pretend she wasn’t sat there the whole time. He says he’s sorry, she tells him not to be. He says he’ll bend the knee, she asks if he’s sure, does she deserve it? This is not the Queen, this is Dany, telling him that she’ll never have no children other than her dragons. That she has lost a son. He even calls her Dany, which is nice to see. They hold their hands, and you can see it passing through their eyes that there’s only one way this ends. But Daenerys pulls away and tells him to rest. I think, it’s sorta the last breath you take before you leap. She knows what’s happening between them, but just not yet. Plus, its a good banger (pardon the pun) for the season to go out on, so dnd withhold it.
That’s it. Can’t tell you what’s happening in Winterfell with Sansa and Arya because even I, who defends the show even as a book reader, cannot stand or fathom what they’re trying to achieve with them two. It’s just so... pointless? it’s very clear that they’re going to end up killing Littlefinger by the end of the season, so it just seems like they’re trying to put in filler scenes that get them there.
But anyway, there we go. If HBO is somehow reading this, please have mercy. And concering spoilers, I’ll go out on this quote by my favourite “Where Whores Go” facebook page. “The leaked episode: Its effect on the Sunday airing of 7.4 was likely negligible. If you were going to illegally stream the show on Sunday night, you probably went ahead and watched the leaked episode early. Pretty much a zero-sum situation. The illegal streamers watched a pirated version just like they’d already planned to do. Did I watch it? No. I had the self-control to wait until Sunday. As for spoilers, some were thrown my way. But they didn't bother me. Why? Because I'm a fucking adult.”

@xsupercorpx :  “Sorry I'm confused please remind me on what post did I comment on?. Never mind, but i still don't see how this answers my question.  By the way I wasn't trying to hate on your account. I did go to the Karamel tag looking for supercorp shipperes who where posting hate in that tag to ask them to take it down. And happened to stumble upon this. I was just curious.  And I mean no hate but just Because you ignore the bad he does or compares all the bad things to the good things he does and sees there is more good than bad doesn't erase the fact that he still does these bad things, but saying that means the supercorp shippers shouldnt ignore all the good things he does too. I know how to keep my opinion of A Character I dislike in my ship tag and I will say sorry on behalf of the supercorp shippers who do this to you guys. I cant change what they do with what they post but instead of fighting about it I would ask them to take it down. And the supercorp shippers are not the only ones who goes to the opposite tag to distribute hate. The karamel shippers do this on IG a lot. We post joke about monel that are funny to us to bring out a laugh but we don't set it in your guys tag yet they decided they want to fight about it. I know its not you but you should be aware that this is not one sidedactions.”
Sorry for replying via post, but this is a sideblog and if I reply with my main blog you may get really confused.
Okay, I totally get that you weren’t trying to hate on me, that’s the reason I answered you, because you were actually very polite and I appreciate that. I wasn’t trying to hate on you either with my answer. Just trying to clarify my motives. It seems like I didn’t do a very good job, did I? (English is not my first language and I suck at explaining myself). So I’ll try again: The reason why I made those gifsets (it’s not just that one you saw. I’m giffing every scene I consider to be important) is because I love that character and I think there are some scenes that are pretty underrated or literally ignored by some people and that are important for the development of the character.
I’m very aware that Mon-El is not perfect, far from it, and believe me, I have never ignored something he has done wrong. In fact I don't see characters I love (even tho I still love them) as perfect beings who can do no wrong. I don't do that with Mon-El or with any other character from any other show I watch. The fact that Mon-El made mistakes is what makes him interesting. That is the whole point of his plot, he is going from being a selfish and spoiled person (as he admitted in 2x16) to being a person willing to help and fight for what is right and to sacrifice himself for the sake of others. That is character development. The writers are trying to build "the hero's journey" and you may not agree, but I think they’ve done a very good job. The problem is that even though I'm able to point when he does something right or when he does something wrong, many other people see everything in black and white and they ignore things that have happened in canon. One of those things is that Mon-El in canon said that he does not like or agree with slavery (as it has been seen in 2x09, 2x16 and 2x17), something that the antis continue using as an argument to insult us.
I really appreciate that you were trying to help us. The fact is that we (karamel fandom) have asked these post hijackers/tag invaders to stop doing that. Their answer was always NO. All of them have always given us very rude answers. We see hate in our tags on a daily basis. Chris Wood (he's just an actor who's trying to do his job) receives hate on social media on a daily basis. I've receive death threats for shipping karamel (and I'm not the only one). People from our fandom who have been abused were treated as if their situation did not matter and have been insulted, people from the LGBT community who are part of our fandom have been called homophobic. Members of your fandom have created multiple tumblr accounts with pro karamel urls for the sole purpose of hijacking our post and insult us. They also decided it was a good idea to boo every Mon-El scene at a screening in LA (in front of producers and cast members of the DC/CW shows). Btw, that screening was a charity event for kids. It is one thing to defend your ship, it is another to bully people you know nothing about just because we don't like the same thing as you (again, I’m not talking about you personally, just explaining what’s going on here).
I’m aware that not evey SC shipper is a bad person, just like I’m aware that not every KM shipper is a good person. In fact, I’ve blocked some karamel shippers because I really don’t like the way they were behaving.  On the other hand, I'm sure that I have 90% of members of your fandom blocked, either because they are very immature people and have insulted us in one way or another or because their only purpose in live is to make our tumblr experience a living hell. For example, I would love to reblog some Kara and Lena gifs because I really like their friendship, unfortunately I can't because most of the blogs who make Kara and Lena content are blocked.
I’m not aware of the situation on Instagram because I don’t have an account, and I’m sorry if members of my fandom have been rude to you guys, that’s not what we stand for. We have called out people who have displayed that type of behavior in the past. I hope it is resolved soon. I just wish everyone would stay in their line and let people enjoy whatever they enjoy. Ship wars are pointless and stupid and I'm ashamed that a wonderful show like Supergirl have such a toxic fandom.
In case I wasn't clear, I have never pretended to be rude or hate on you with this post. Just trying to make you understand my point of view, just as I try to understand yours.
Edit: I just checked your blog and I saw that you wrote an anti Mon-El post and you tagged it as #Monel. You know, if you're trying to get members of your fandom to stop doing that and you do the same, then what is the point?. Anti tags exist for a reason, please use them and don't post hate on the #MonEl tag. Let’s be respectful with one another. I'm politely asking you to remove that post from the pro tags, just like you suggested us to do in this kind of situations.
