since in vol 3 road says that thing about god I was like wait I'm pretty sure that one conversation she had with cross during the mana flashback was relevant to this, so I went to look it up (I actually don't own that volume! because it's been out of print in italy for ages!!! life is terrible sometimes) and uhhhhhh.....yeah. I forgot just how insane that conversation was from a lore drop pov. Anyway they don't say anything explicitly relevant or easy to figure out when it comes to the whole god situation, but in the beginning of the chapter Cross says once again that Mana ate Neah and then forgot nearly all about it, and now I wonder if the process for that was somewhat similar to what p!Allen and p!Lavi went through? What with p!Allen essentially eating p!Lavi and then forgetting all about it

#also after seeing p!lavi in the helix talking to baby lavi #i had somewhat assumed that was what had happened back when allen saw cross in the campbell field #like he somehow met him in the helix. or smth #but in these chapters with road it pretty much implies that cross has been around #and looked exactly the same #since mana and neah were kids? he used to know them as kids he remembers them as children #so now I'm once again asking myself if he really is dead #btw i wonder if HE is the head of the campbell family neah mentions in that one flashback #also still not sold on him not being somehow tied to bookman too #given the eye he has covered and all #since the campbell house is in the hands of the bookman clan #or at least it was 35 years ago #the two theories wouldn't even contrast too much #...#anyway I'm way ahead of myself #let's think about vol4 first I'll get back to the mana flashback when i reach it again
