Most rewarding of all however, was the way Lumine tucked herself against his side and even glanced up at him apologetically. For his part, he's thoroughly enjoying it, so he sees no reason for her embarrassment and indeed expresses it with the arm around her waist, pressing her closer with contentment.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" He is meant to refer to the festival, but as he says it he only has eyes for her, rather shifting the meaning of his words, were she to pick up on it. She looks stunning, albeit more shy than he's used to from her. But, this is cute as well. He can love this side of her just as much as that fierce domination she perpetuated during their spars. Ah, how thrilling~!

"Why of course!" So comes his quick reply to her question, eyes sparkling with his enjoyment and sincerity. "This Lantern Rite is quite a success, made all the more wondrous for the fine woman on my arm~"

Of course, he could not abate with any praise or compliments when given the opportunity. Indeed, hyping her up was quickly becoming something he very much enjoyed doing, regardless of her mood. It was just— so exciting.

His eyes drift but for a moment before spotting something that makes his grin gain that little edge normally associated with battle when it crosses his face, although tonight he intends to be good and peaceful.

"Look! I bet you would be nothing short of stunning in a qipao or a kimono~ Please, let me buy some for you. Would you be so kind as to model them for me tonight~?" True to form, part of the way Childe shows affection is spending the Fatui's money in ways it was not intended to be spent.
