miquella is a boy with a girl headmate that he hates (this is canon but of course you can girlify him, yeah). lothric can be a girl, yeah. gwyndolin on the other hand is almost canonically a trans boy. he was raised as a girl by his cruel and hateful society until his father had to leave. only then could gwyndolin call himself a man without being mistreated by his father. the only reason they don't call him a transgender man is because that word doesn't exist in dark souls
miquella is a girl. lothric is a girl. gwyndolin is a girl but we knew that already. yes we did didn’t we folks.

Very normal about this Spam NEO fight, but I'm also curious how closely the fight plays out.
Does Frisk spare him by snapping wires still? Does he fall just like the base game when they're gone? I know he's gonna be better off at the end than becoming a pair of sunglasses, if only because he's gonna be a party member, but...
You assume this because he's a party member, but the Secret bosses are also only party Members for the duration of the Chapter they're from ;)
...
I could just leave this ask with that but, lets be honest here, I've said before that this AU initially spawned out of me joking about if Frisk was the Deltarune protag, freeing Spamton would've worked. Of course it ends better, this is happy ending city babey, that's all I do!
Frisk does snap the wires, yes, because that seems to be what Spamton's freaking out about as far as they can tell. Spamton doesn't actually get what they're doing until After all the strings are cut and he's fallen though, at which point he realizes they were trying to help him, feels somewhat guilty, and then feels a whole lot worse in general because it didn't Work.
Killing them didn't work (or, at least, he utterly failed to do so), cutting the strings Didn't Work, and now all his work was for Nothing and he tried to kill a child that did nothing but help him this entire time and that, despite how much he would attempt to convince himself otherwise, he DID get attached to. Everything's utterly fallen apart and there's nothing he can do to fix any of it. His one big plan was a dud and he has nothing else.
So Spamton is pretty ready to give up and just be a pair of glasses, but Frisk...
Well, Frisk isn't one to give up on a friend no matter what, and they will Not fail to save anyone ever again. So they try to help Spamton get back up. Again, and again, and again, and again.
And, well, that kinda Determination is enough to inspire a little hope in anyone, y'know?
And, you know, maybe, just maybe, sometimes, a little hope, a lotta determination, and a friend is all you need to defy the rules of the game.
Maybe, sometimes, you get to be more than Just A Puppet.

Assorted fallout 4 companion opinions
Preston is not boring he's simple. He's just a guy trying his best to do good in a fucked world and he's hanging by a thread. It's not his fault bethesda radiant quests suck.
Strong is wasted potential as a character. He should have been more than a dumb brute companion with the only difference being "he's not aggressive to you" he should have been a rather "smarter than the average mutant" and know a lot of advanced words and how to properly apply them (but mispronouncing them terribly) due to his interest in literature.
A super mutant who does super mutant things but can wax poetic about his POV as a mutant would've been a great companion. I know the "milk of kindness" being taken literally is a joke but honestly i was expecting strong to eventually "get it" and figure out why human so strong is bc of compassion that helps them lead a group and not a show of brute strength (which is why strong thought fist was a terrible leader bc he didn't care about his brothers, but with his dialogue it seems like he only cares about your ability to kill as long as you dont say mean things?) and like, Maybe strong is a bit NICER to travel with and his opinions could change to thinking humans are decent at most.
Nick should have had more side quests involving him. More mysteries to solve, hell i had an idea for at least a mod quest that if you side with the institute a scientist who's interested in older tech to improve advanced tech offers to fix the holes in nick's synth skin bc C'mon we are traveling the god damn commonwealth full of trash, irradiated water, and bullets from who knows where like how has nick not gotten some radroaches trying to make a nest in his chest cavity. It would make for some great dialogue and philosophy of "are you content with yourself even if you could fix some problems? What are you willing to trade off?" And give players options while hearing out both sides.
Piper also should have more side quests involving interviews with certain characters, maybe after completing certain quests you can go back to them with piper and maybe get additional quests involving old ones to tie loose ends? Or the very least have an opportunity for your character to voice their opinion on the events
Maccready. WHERE IS HIS SON????? i DID ALL THAT FOR THE GUY JUST FOR HIM TO KEEP FUCKING AROUND WITH ME AND NOT GO TO HIS DAMN SON??? Now it sounds super awful to say but the only possible outcome for his story to conclude is, macready leaves the commonwealth for a few days, and in a few days daisy wants to talk to you and she says to talk to maccready in the third rail. Turns out when maccready left to ensure the cure gets to his son, it was too late. The man is in an awful state and you gotta pass a few charisma checks to keep him in the commonwealth as a companion.
Gage. It makes some sense for him to turn on you too when you open season the raider leaders. HOWEVER, the leaders were needy dicks anyways and YOU'RE the boss so why can't you: replace the gang leaders with someone else you personally like OR Tell gage "im the boss, you got me here, you deal with me. You're lucky i like you so much" and establish dominance and give gage a sexual awakening. Gage will hate you for a few moments but ultimately with everything he said to you about his views and personal code he has to agree that you really are better/worse than colter.
That or bully him into being not a raider by either saying "do you REALLY wanna fight me?" Or "being a raider sucks this is actually beneficial for everyone even assholes like you" like the whole of nuka world would've been cooler to be like an actual fleshed out raider and not generic "haha im mean" but a "if its kill or be killed then im gonna kill the status quo to become god"
Cait is perfect in every way ngl i have nothing else to say about her except i love her

Hi, it's Secret Identity!Alastor AU anon again because I really love talking about Alastor potential that I know the real show will never showcase satisfyingly:
I basically just thought, why not let The Radio Demon & Alastor identity dichotomy be a little more Wizard of Oz & Oscar Diggs yanno? While no, he isn't powerless and could still theoretically still punch above his weight class, he wouldn't do so without great risk, and would generally go to great lengths to reduce the risk while maximizing the gains. Less raw power, more tricks, strategies and staging, every trick in his playbook is one he knows how to use well and adapt on the fly. A balancing act on a knife's edge. The Radio Demon would sorta be regarded as kinda like, either the guy that can help you out for a price or the roving boss fight that's gonna bulldoze you hard (sometimes because you pissed him off, sometimes because you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, could be anything for all the public knows), but until you're there in the moment you have No Idea what The Radio Demon's whims or intentions are towards you, and your best hope is to just avoid them, if you can.
Another thing about animal survival strats, is how lots of animals (prey and predator alike) will make themselves look bigger than they really are to discourage and ward off predators from trying anything funny, same concept with Alastor building up the Radio Demon's reputation and legend. The Radio Demon, terrifying, mysterious and untouchable, a voice on the airwaves, a half-remembered song, either your salvation or your doom. Kinda like fae rules in a way or something? Not to muddy the lore, no actual fae stuff, just the metaphor. Less Black and White morality and more Blue and Orange nuanced personal codes that make no sense but to the person themself pls lmao.
Also idk, I saw a post that mentioned that Alastor would've been better suited as a Peryton (a maneating bird-deer monster, even though it was made in 1957) instead of a closed-culture thing. He doesn't need wings either, designwise as to not infringe on Husk's silhouette, maybe he lost them as a result from a injury from an old fight? He's probably had plenty of those and not all of them were winners, he's made mistakes despite his best efforts probably, he could theoretically be hiding whatever's left of them under his jacket with padding and magic, similarly to how people headcanon he hides his tail with his jacket. Like... He's been in hell a while, and was involved and present for a great/relatively long upheaval of Hell's sinner's power structure, and if he's not untouchable, that means he's got the scars to prove it (and the ones that gave them are, probably no longer around). Idk, I could see that his allying with Charlie & her hotel project (and thus by proxy, Hell's Ruling Family, even if Charlie is having some issues with her dad, she's still Lucifer's daughter ffs) works twofold as building up the Radio Demon's mythos more, shooting for the moon, and Alastor trying to get a little more security for himself, some breathing room from something perhaps? Or who knows, maybe he's just actually tired (he wouldn't show it or spin it like that however).
Also, even though I know Alastor is in hell for a reason obviously, but I remember when the 'Day in the Life' comic dropped and I found it interesting that he just kinda, saved that sheep lady just because, no favors or repayment asked either, he just bodies the butcher guy (butchers the butcher) and then walks off. It could be an interesting layer, especially if it was an impulsive spur of the moment thing. Also Charlie & company's limited interactions with The Radio Demon through proxies & the Radio & his broadcast shows, and then a different but still reminiscent regular interactions with Alastor himself and vice versa. And I dunno, maybe it could spin out into something like, Alastor directly interacting more regularly with Radio Demon interests & other people AS HIMSELF while ALSO playing the part of the Radio Demon starts the blur the lines a bit over time.
Alastor doing a lot of this shit in the name of survival and the assurance of security, rather than boredom, could be interesting? Constant state of fight or flight, the stage never ends, maybe this was a mistake. The terrifying ordeal of being known, one of the things that could be called back about the comic but changed, instead of being so known and fear that people flee him on sight, what about Alastor keeping everyone at arm's length unless he's set & planned the scene to a T, usually a fight or a dealmaking or whatever, but would generally keep to himself unless it's Radio Demon business. But with the Hazbin crew, he really doesn't have that option with how it was set up, and now has to play another part he hasn't really played since he died up on Earth, himself (while also playing the Radio Demon in the background). Idk, somethingsomething potential?
An aside thing bc idk where to put it, I kinda like the idea that Sinners are just as mortal as hellborn but with maybe a better wolverine xmen but magic healing factor to keep the stakes of death and fighting in hell an actual threat instead of, 'oh who cares, nobody can really 'die' unless it's 'angel weapons' or dramatic enough.'
Okay this wasn't supposed to be that long but it kept going, and it meandered in even further AU, also like, idk if it's too fuzzy, this ended up being semi-stream of consciousness plot hook/char progression setup practice written at 5am lol.
Definitely love all of this, and I'm super into the idea of Peryton!Alasator because they're incredibly cool and massively underrated, but I've got to throw out the obligatory reminder that Wendigo aren't a closed culture thing. Controversial yes, closed culture no. That said, Vivzie's still full of shit to say "Oh, he's got Wendigo elements!" when she's clearly just latching onto it because Wendigo = spoopy. Man's literally as far as you can get from Wendigo country without standing in the gulf.
Everything else about this? 10/10, good shit.

Base game Awakening is, on the surface, very black and white. But only on the surface and fandom has a VERY big problem with that, I find. I feel like there's implications historical Ylisse has done War Crimes and Emmeryn has to cope with knowing this and that her people probably still would War Crimes the Plegian people at the drop of a hat, regardless of cult association or not.
YEAH. both chrom and emmeryn bring up their father being Exalt McWarCrimes. the war found in the game is just War 2. When Gangrel talks shit about emmeryn just hiding away in ylisstol after ylisse ravaged plegia, he is still talking shit about her, but also voicing legitimate grievances. but when she retorts that she had to rebuild ylisse first, and just had neither time nor ressources to help plegia, that's also true.
everything that happens is just unrest left over from the previous war. it's questionable if the grimleal would've risen to that much power if political instability made religion a great rallying point for a broken country. plegia was the defending party in the previous war, and it's reasonable that a lot of people want retribution, and feel their crimes against ylisse are justified.
it mainly comes down to how the issues are dressed up. chrom questions himself and his purpose, yet the people he fights against are always without a doubt portrayed as villains. going back to gangrel, his behavior is so over the top ridiculous that it ruins the good points he makes. validar's motivation is also incredibly weak, and i don't think it would've taken much to prop it up. he could've aimed to revive grima to secure the political power of the grimleal, which took a big hit after the previous war decimated a lot of them. having an actual god to show, and being the person who revived that god, would net him a shitton of influence, not just in plegia, but the entire continent. grima could be a force of revenge for the plegians, finally striking back at ylisse.
but instead the villains are all just zany tropey bad guys. chrom can be as introspective as he wants about killing people, the only boss people actually feel bad for killing is still mustafa and nobody else. depth for some of the other bosses comes from henry's supports of all places. In his ricken support, he talks about how some of the bosses were actually his friends. That's interesting! How do Henry and Tharja feel abandoning their own countrymen? Both of them were part of Gangrel's forces!
This is just a huge FE problem in general. It's where story and gameplay clash. in order for there to be gameplay, there need to be people to fight, and that can't always be justified in the story. So very very often, between big story moments, there'll just be Random Brigands who LOOOOVE burning down villages for fun. fucking. binding blade does random brigands better through its own thief characters. hell, there's two recruitable brigands. through supports and story stuff, it's incredibly clear that the brigands exist because of war profiteers and lycia's rampant poverty, especially in its capital of ostia.
avenues for depth in awakening tend to fall flat, but the implications are still there. I'm particularly mad about Aversa's spotpass thing. Like yeahhh she didn't do any of this of her own volition she was just brainwashed :) fuck off man.
and before that, she's also just a cartoonishly evil puppet master. she wants to revive grima.. why exactly?
basically all chapter bosses besides VERY few of them are so unremarkable. they're just Random Bad Guy who you don't need to feel bad for killing. three houses attempted to do an all sides view, and it. hm. it sure tried. all around, the series is hesitant to ever let the player question if what they're doing is right. the player always needs to be the hero. that's why you have so many varieties of brainless zombies to slaughter en masse, generic bandits who Deserve To Die, and devoted soldiers who cannot be reasoned with.
though, tbh, the moments where you feel like shit for playing the map are the fucking best. ch23 of binding blade, you are so cool thematically. and like, everybody remembers mustafa! it works!
that was a long tirade. i think i've made my point. maybe.

my initial thoughts/observations on chapter 3/deep sleep
this is gonna be a long post. and i mean really long. !!SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!
opening thoughts
so, after a long and deserved wait, chapter 3 has finally released. i was very excited, and i wasn't disappointed. this one still follows the formula of gameplay chaper 2 established, but is far longer and far more scary.
as much as i enjoyed chapter 2, it was not scary at all. the only tense moments were during the games, and even then its not scary scary. they failed to build up that atmosphere of dread that a lot of horror games strive to have. chapter 3 delivered. home sweet home in particular, and the red gas hallucination scenes were scary. i still have a quarrel with poppy over their scripted scares, but this chapter was much better about that than chapter 2.
this chapter has a much different, darker vibe than chapter 2, and im glad. i hope they keep going in this direction, and i suspect they will, especially with the morbid story they want to tell with this game.
i was glad we also got to see the majority of the playcare, even if im a bit bummed out that we didn't get to go in the toystore. the playcare itself is a really good environment, it looks cozy but its also so obviously fake, reminding me of those little miniature towns in trainsets. I did not expect it to be inside a dome. my favourite area in the whole chapter had to be the playhouse.
the new hands were also a great addition, and made the puzzles much more fun and varied. changing up the mechanics like that was a great idea to keep people from getting bored of the same puzzle and gameplay every single time.
the school section was fun. miss delight was kept a secret and that was the best choice, because she was a good surprise. the weeping angel chase sequence is great, if a bit complicated. still, its nice to have an actual active threat.
we got a lot of answers in this chapter, including specifics on what the hour of joy was. it seems that the game is being much more open about its dark lore, and im happy about that. im tired of games being theory bait in the sense they make the story next to impossible to figure out to bait theorists. i just want to understand whats going on.
criticisms.
one thing ive always had an issue with about poppy is the scripted scares. in some places its ok, like the huggy tv scene. but i wish there was more of an active, ambient threat. like in the playhouse for example, having to use the flare gun to keep them away. part of the scare is knowing something is out to get you. it helps build up tension and fear.
on that topic, catnap is definitely underutilized, as are the other smiling critters. catnap is good when he shows up, hes got a great design and im really glad they kept him mostly silent. but i wish he showed up more. tying this point to the above one, it would've been cool if he was lurking around in home sweet home. it would be the same way he does in the office towards the end of the game, and you have to fend him off in a similar manner.
the smiling critters in general are underutilized. dogday only appears for a short amount of time, and while his appearance is very good, i wish we got more. we didn't even get to see what the other bigger body critters looked like, or even have them mentioned other than once or twice.
they could have been a sort of resistance group against catnap, or even have been additional threats. picky piggy is a cannibal and craftycorn wants to paint with your blood. something could've been done with that. they couldve even taken the role that ollie filled. though i think ollie is probably important so probably not.
i didnt like the catnap boss fight. i dont know, it just felt weird. i also didn't like the weird nightmare form he transformed into. i much prefer him in his normal state, hes creepy enough as is.
last critique. kissy died. thats it, thats the complaint. look we've done this before in batim when they killed boris. we're gonna have to wait until chapter 4 comes to see if shes alive or not and shes likely gonna be dead in some horrific violent way. this is more of a petty thing than anything but im still sad about it.
deep sleep
so, the ost for the game isn't out yet [once it is i might post about it if i notice anything interesting]
but one thing i did notice is the main [possibly] leitmotif is actually a song from all the way back in chapter 1, titled deep sleep, which likely not a coincidence. i dont know if they had this planned all along, or decided later, but its cool either way.
you can hear it here when you enter the playcare for the first time, and in the menu theme [at the very end before it cuts off]. im unsure when else it plays but it probably does play elsewhere, similar to how the thousand year melody is also a common leitmotif
lots of death [and huggys death]
so, huggy is confirmed dead, by poppys word. im kind of sad about that. i think it wouldve been cool if he had come back, covered in blood and all messed up from his fall, hungry for revenge. at first he just wanted to eat you but now its personal.
but alas we can't always have what we want. PJ is also possibly dead, but im not sure. its confirmed that he doesnt die in chapter 2, as mommy doesn't kill him like she does bunzo and the wuggies. but in chapter 3, it looks like PJ is on catnaps shrine. but until hes confirmed dead im holding out on saying he is. it also seems like huggy is haunting the player, in a way. he appears in their nightmare hallucination, and then again as a cutout later almost tauntingly.
poppy is right, we have killed a LOT of people. we killed huggy, mommy, miss delight, and helped kill catnap. we indirectly caused bunzo and the wuggies to die [mommy killed them, but if we hadn't won the game she would not have done that, so we are involved regardless]. and now, we have to kill the prototype. i did not expect this much death in this chapter, but i enjoyed it.
catnap
out of all the main antagonists, catnap is by far my favorite. in the long wait leading up to chapter 3, the anticipation to his reveal was a lot of fun. theorizing with other fans, making fan interpretations of what he would look like. originally i thought he would be a bat
his actual design is fantastic. i didnt expect him to be so skinny, but it really works in his favor. him being on all fours also sets him apart from the other antagonists. i wont go into detail about his design here
his actual character is really good and is what makes him my favorite. those who followed the arg that led up to chapter 3 know catnaps full story, about how the prototype saved his life. im not gonna talk about that here because im gonna talk about that and his death in a different post. but catnaps religious devotion to the prototype makes him really interesting. hes so obsessed with him he builds shrines, and is even willing to kill all the other smiling critters for being heretics the choice to keep him mostly silent also really elevates his character. i think it wouldve been much different were he talkative like mommy long legs.
i do think he was underutilized though, especially with how much he was teased
prototype
i was kind of hoping to see at least a little bit more of the prototype's body, but we got a voice reveal so thats good enough. the prototype is a very interesting character, and im really excited to see what he looks like in the future. he must be huge, if he took catnaps body to presumably use on himself. the prototype interests me, because im trying to figure out what his deal is. poppy seems to think hes pure evil, but we never actually see him being evil. the only truly evil thing we know he has done is enact the hour of joy. does he kill other toys all the time? what else does he do thats so evil? we dont really know yet i guess he saved theodores life and sacrificed his freedom for it. right now he is morally grey. he also killed catnap, but im not sure why he did that. was it a mercy kill? did he simply not tolerate that failure? its hard to tell with a silent scene.
either way, the prototype intrigues me. some people think he is elliot ludwig, but i dont think so. i think he will just be nobody in particular, ideally. hes good enough on his own as a character
elliot ludwig and ollie
during the hallucination sequence in the home sweet home, its said that they found the body of a young boy in an upstairs room in elliot ludwig's house, a body which was missing organs and bones. this was after ludwig had died, and playtime co seems to want to fight the allegations. so either ludwig killed that kid or someone was framing him. either way, its not looking good for him. its been speculated for a long time whether or not elliot ludwig knew about the sinister happenings at playtime co, or if it happened after his death and leith pierre took over. this might be our answer. now whos body was that? so, i have a weird hypothesis. its said in his backstory that elliot had someone die in his family, which caused him and his wife to split. people first speculated this was his daughter, who became poppy. i think maybe, with this revelation, it was a son. and maybe, like the poppy theory, that son became something else. maybe hes ollie. maybe hes the prototype. who knows. it would explain why the body was there, and parts were missing. maybe those parts were used to make a bigger body. it has a lot of holes, but thats why its a hypothesis
on the topic of ollie, who are they? i definitely think they're a toy, possibly a bigger body, which is why they're hiding their appearance from us. theres also no way its been 10 years and theres still kids here. they either would have died or grown up by now. i dont completely trust them, or poppy for that matter. people have theorized ollie might be the prototype, since the prototype can change his voice to sound like a variety of things. heres my crack theory, which i know is not true but it would be funny: ollie is boxy boo. listen. ok. the phone is first seen in project playtime, which is boxy boo's debut game, and reveals all his lore, like how he was the first bigger body created. the phone also resembles him in appearance. obviously this probably isnt true but its funny to consider.
speaking of him, im really glad boxy boo was in this chapter. i hope he appears physically in the next one, because i like him a lot. make fun of the name all you want but hes my special guy.
kissy and poppy
kissy is my favorite character so im very glad she was here. though i wish she was there a bit more, beggars cant be choosers. im also glad poppy got more spotlight. when she first appeared in chapter 2, she just felt like circus baby 2.0. but chapter 3 expands on her character a lot more and makes her feel more unique and alive, and like an actual character. which im glad for because shes the namesake of the game and is obviously very important she hates the prototype because he locked her in that case, and killed all those people. but obviously she cant kill him herself, shes so small. so we have to do it. ill be honest, i still dont completely trust her. like the prototype doesnt seem THAT evil to me. we havent seen him do a lot of things. imagine if theres a huge plottwist at the end where poppy is actually evil and the prototype is good. no way thats gonna happen but whatever.
the players identity
before chapter 3 released i thought the player was maybe a past orphan who worked at the factory later in life only to return years later to end things. people theorize that they're the head of innovation. now it just seems to make sense that they're rich. i mean why would we be constantly hearing about this guy who seemingly is just another employee. the player also seems to have done bad things, or at least known about them, because the game constantly references their guilty conscience.
chapter 4
its quite possible chapter 4 will be the last chapter. poppy said that catnap was the final obstacle the prototype had set out before us. and now we have the clear goal of killing the prototype.
in the next chapter, we will probably go down to the labs mentioned time and time again, and uncover the final secrets. as we go deeper down and progress through each chapter, things become more grim and dark. this will probably be the darkest chapter yet. if we go down to the lab, with the goal to finally kill the prototype, we are going to be in his domain, his kingdom. we will probably see new monsters, maybe even scrapped toys like daisy.
anyways i will make smaller posts for other stuff like catnaps death, and other things i find deserve their own posts. thanks for reading if you have made it this far

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Rewatch Part 4
Rey "If you see Finn before I do, tell him..."
Chewie Gurgles
Rey "Yeah, perfect. Tell him that."
To anyone who thinks this is a one-sided friendship.
It was honestly very brave of Rey to go alone to the First Order. She had a lot of faith in Ben/Kylo Ren cause she really didn't have a plan except to plead with him I guess.
Tumblr media
We might have gotten a hint of their sexual tension before but it's full pride and prejudice here. The novel goes a little bit more in depth and it's canon from Rian/Adam that Ren wanted to kiss her her.
General Holdo is a great leader but is there a reason she couldn't just communicate her plan to get Poe off her back, it seems like it could've saved some trouble. 3PO running off to not be party to a munity hahahahaha
Tumblr media
Leia coming back in time to dip out and knock out Poe. It's a great scene between Holdo and Leia about strength and leadership.
Tumblr media
The throne room scene is brilliant just all around. The acting, the direction, the production, the look of it all. Snoke didn't bridge their minds though not sure where that came from, writing wise. Rey be patient with our boy, Ren, you didn't have a plan and he's having to come up with one on the spot. Adam driver played Ren's neutrality perfectly.
Tumblr media
Rey in plucky but she Lord she did not think this through. Ren, not one for patience or controlling his temper, actually locked it up this scene to save them both. I didn't see this in theaters so I'm curious what the reaction to him killing Snoke was. Bet it was wild. Then the moment when they lock eyes like "you with me?" and here is this iconic moment. Power lightsaber couple.
Tumblr media
I keep forgetting that Finn used to be in The First Order. General Hux, Phasma and company have known him for a long time. Hence the bitch slap Hux gives Finn haha.
I'm so annoyed that once explained to Poe, he agrees it's a good plan and stops trying to interfere.
We also see Ren at his full fighting level. Novice Rey wouldn't have beaten him. He's beating several trained individuals at once. He's finally freed in a way he's longed to be by choosing Rey.
The cinematography during this film doesn't get enough credit. Like at all. You can see that this film is a labor of love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That moment when Rey thinks he's Ben only for Kylo Ren to be like hey girl, still here. It's a great scene, can't say that enough. It does go to further illustrate that there isn't any place these two can hide from one another. It's what makes them seen though and fully connected in a way they've never been to another person. Yeah, they ain't letting this go.
The fighting over the lightsaber. Beautiful visual.
General Holdo after watching some boat blow up, moves to action and goes out like a G. Seriously she needed to do something or she was the only about to survive. The sound production, once again, is just amazing.
Tumblr media
Finn and Phasma fight is nice and it's wonderful watching him more and more confront his problems instead of running away from them. Rose and Finn could've at least had soot covered clothing. I mean something. They look pristine here. Overlay aside this is a beautiful shot of Leia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just love the shot with the planes. The trail of red like blood over the white salt. In the resistance typical shitty ass equipment. At least it makes sense here why they have poor equipment.
I do love that Kylo makes a competent leader if not an emotional one. I wonder if he had a moment to enjoy finally becoming boss. It's what even his grandfather never managed to do. It's obvious that he takes no pleasure in it. He wanted Rey there with him.
hahah General Hux and Ren are just chef's kiss.
Tumblr media
Rose crashing into Finn was stupid. Finn dying a heroic death would've been better or at least no pointless. The kiss was undeserved. Finn looked grossed out and confused. Or Rose could've died the heroic death, I don't know, but this is trash. However, people need help if they personally attack actors cause they don't like their characters.
Luke Skywalker finally shows up. I will say this moment of finally stepping up feels so deserved cause we watched him bullshit for the entire movie. It also brings it around that ultimately Luke is a symbol at this point. His job wasn't about beating the First Order or even Kylo Ren, it was about having something (someone) to believe in. Leia and Luke had such a touching scene where you can see the love between them as characters and actors.
Tumblr media
Kylo Ren testosterone kicks in and he's gotta fight Kylo Ren Mano e Mano. It's a great character beat. Luke wouldn't, nor could he, kill his nephew no more than he could kill his father. He did a very unorthodox heroic thing very in league with his legacy, he bought them time to escape without being violent towards his kin. The moment Kylo Ren realized he's fake though ha! what a moment.
Finally Rey and Finn reunite. There's more chemistry, relief and connection in this wordless hug than in every single one of FinnRose's scenes.
Tumblr media
Finally, the death of Luke Skywalker. It's peaceful, purposeful, heroic and full circle which is more than Han got. Staring at those two suns we're called back to his days on tattooine.
Tumblr media
The last forcetime between is filled with so much emotion, again without a word spoken. Allowing actors to emote and not always just speak is the sign of a great writer and director. Ren looks at Rey with such confusion and longing. Rey looks at Ren with such disappointment and tough love. Also, I didn't realize Poe and Rey hadn't met yet. It's like automatic frenemies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the other side of the galaxy children share the story of Luke Skywalker standing up to oppression, violence and so forth.... and we conclude.
Overall, I LOVE THIS FILM. I don't give a damn about the hate I receive for loving Reylo. It's a beautiful, well written film with great character development. Do I like the handling of Luke Skywalker? No. The titty milk scene was gross and demeaning. Everything else I enjoy whole heartedly.
Now onto Rise of Skywalker? God give me strength. I remember it was a mixed bag, mostly confusing hot mess with a terrible ending.

DA:O playthrough 2: mage time
i'm dumping so much more information into this one because i'm fresh off the game!!!
major decisions made: - female Circle elf (Neria Surana) - romanced Alistair - brokered peace between the elves and werewolves - picked Harrowmont as king. defeated Branka and the anvil - saved the mages - did not defile the Urn of Sacred Ashes - helped Redcliffe & freed Connor, Isolde sacrificed - Anora is queen, Loghain is dead - I got cucked by Morrigan but at least we both survive - all of my companions survived & stuck with me til the end - Awakening: killed the Architect and the Mother, Keep & Amaranthine safe - Warden's Keep: allowed Avernus ethical research - Witch Hunt: Morrigan was still my BFF so it was honestly a lot sadder than i anticipated - i wished her well and then muttered to myself "you'll always have a home with me and Alistair"
y'all. I was so surprised at how different my playthrough was all because I picked a different race, class, AND gender. granted, it wasn't all new lines - a lot of it was just the same stuff with some combination of "AND YOU'RE ALSO A WOMAN/ELF/MAGE" tacked on the end. I tried to make Neria a little more forceful than Aedan Cousland was, and It definitely worked RP-wise. it was so satisfying to pick the "Intimidate" option, get the NPC cut scene, then have it flick to my lil bb elf who's a head shorter than her travel companions at best. it also worked well when pairing her with a softie Alistair because SOMETIMES I would get a nugget of him being surprised I went with a gentler dialogue option when talking to him - I did that gradually so maybe there were some convos he's supposed to keep track of your answers for. still 100% worth it. i think if i hadn't gotten the "Bully" achievement with Aedan during the Landsmeet, i would've gotten it with Neria within the first 2 hours. for a mage, investing in the speech/cunning early on saved my ass.
i thought a lot more about my characterization this time now that i've played the series all the way through. I like to think since Neria's been locked up in the Circle since she was a child, she enjoys having structure in her life, even though she resents being controlled. that's why she likes the Grey Wardens - she gets to fight for the greater good on her own terms instead of hiding away and fussing. since she's so used to humans being weird with her, her initial interactions are usually brusque unless you're a mage or fellow elf (there's some solidarity in being oppressed). once she warms up, she'll pour her heart and soul into making sure her friends know how much she cares about them. also, after the Urn of Sacred Ashes incident, I started picking more religious options, since I felt like the existence of a folk tale and her ability to run the Gauntlet successfully would strengthen her faith. it'll be really satisfying for my Neria Levallen run when I make it to Inquisition! it also makes sense with her & Alistair.
since I was already REALLY familiar with the game's mechanics, I kind of "broke" my money & health potions fairly quickly - I think the most health poultices I had at once was 150 across the different sizes. I also used a lot more lyrium potions than I ever do stamina stuff as a warrior (not in this game, obvs, but in general). however, getting staffs/GOOD mage light armor is a pain in the ass. I get why, lore-wise, I can only really find the good stuff on bosses or in smuggling rings, but jeez give me an actual vendor. I just spent 150 sovereigns on the special staff in the Awakening DLC after only getting them gifted or looting them. I used a dark spawn staff for the first like 10 hours of gameplay because it was the most powerful one so far. also since I was already really familiar with the gameplay, I kept my party to mostly Alistair/Morrigan/Lelianna or Zev even though I anticipated bringing around Sten or Oghren or Shale more this time. the banter's just better with those four sorry not sorry.
playing as a mage is a lot of fun so far! I thought I was going to be dying constantly but I didn't realize enemies less attention to you if you're wearing lighter armor. I went with a lightning/arcane warrior/spirit build so i'm mostly AOE (chain lightning ftw) and i'm pretty tanky bc I dumped a LOT of points into Constitution early on. I REALLY appreciated having to manage my whole party's character sheets because I knew exactly what I enjoyed in a mage build - my build is basically what Morrigan was for me the first time I played Origins. this time I made her ice/DPS/healer but I really didn't need a healer. I finished the base game relatively quickly this time - I felt like I finished waaaayyy more than I did last time, but I did have some missions bug out, like the entire orphanage in the Alienage, that didn't do that last time. generally a lot more bugs this playthrough, which was irritating. i'm thinking it might be one of the tie-in DLCs that I bought late game last time.
the vibes with the companions when i'm playing as an elf/woman/mage are so crazy different!! Zevran and Lelianna were both immediately in love with me. maybe i'm too autistic to realize i'm picky flirty options, but I swear to God this didn't happen with Aedan, who did INTENTIONALLY flirt with Zev sometimes (there's no subtlety with Zev!!). HOWEVER, Morrigan locked in fairly quickly with Aedan, and I know that locks out other romances immediately, so maybe that impacted it? who knows. it was funny hearing Lelianna ask about me being an elf - she's so sweet and I tried to pick answers that would fit best with her characterization in DAI/how I want her to be as Divine so it's more satisfying later on. yes I am intentionally interacting with these characters in a way that I can make tenuous connections to that mean literally nothing to anyone else but me in future games. HOWEVER, I also apparently upped our relationship too fast, or answered something wrong, because even though we maxed out I never got her singing cutscene or personal quest.
I had to break up with Zev twice even though I never actually locked anything in with him?? however in Alistair's defense I DID have a threesome with Zev and Isabela at the Pearl with him present.......anyways. I felt really bad because his "initiate romance" dialogue didn't actually trigger until AFTER I told him I was "breaking up" with him for Alistair so I lost like 30 total approval on that one. otherwise, he was the only one who was generally the same to Aedan and Neria other than his explicit dialogue abt elves and Neria being a woman. his personal quest also didn't trigger until so late in the game I thought I had bugged that one too!!
Morrigan was just as satisfying to befriend as she is to romance - I almost cried like three times when she called me a sister and told me how dear I was to her, even though it was basically the same dialogue as with Aedan LOL. also her chat with me after I locked in Alistair was SO fucking funny I took a screenshot of it. she is so perfect and I loved answering her sarcastically in that moment. I can picture my sweet lil mage girlies having a giggle in their tent over Neria's virgin boyfriend while he's just sitting by the fire trying not to eavesdrop when their laughter carries over to him - sure, they could magically dampen the sound, but why would they? I DIDN't kill Flemeth this time, just because Morrigan and I both know it isn't gonna do anything - warrior lover Aedan would kill anything Morrigan tells him to, mage sister Neria knows it's a waste of healing poultices.
Sten took FOREVER to gain his approval, which was truly the biggest difference between Neria and Aedan. I wasn't losing his approval, his gifts are just harder to find than everyone else's, Aedan got more approval for some of his answers than Neria did, and his cut scenes in camp took forever to trigger. I was like about to give up on him when he FINALLY asked me to look for his sword. that being said! it was much more satisfying to hear the switch to "kadan" and have him thank me/call me a great friend/worthy hero. it was also so funny to bring him around to stuff with a lot of cut scenes because he's so much bigger and i would honestly just put him in whatever armor I had so nothing ever matched. i pick him up too early and he doesn't already come with armor, and last time i just gave him whatever Aedan/Alistair weren't using. i know gender and race factor into your success at the game, but do we know for sure if it factors into companion approval?
Wynne is nice to have around, and I finally got her personal quest, which was cute and pretty satisfying. it's interesting that they push the mage Warden so hard to take over the Circle and rebuild it, even though Neria declined - she does really like being a Warden better than a Circle mage. everyone respects her more as a Warden even before she becomes the HoF. her mom chat about Alistair would've been a little more interesting if she hinted at knowing how the whole Warden/archdemon thing worked, but I guess they keep that shit locked down. maybe leaning into the whole "Alistair will more than likely become king whether he wants to or not and dump your elf mage ass girlfriend, please be smart" would've been interesting since no one else seemed to think that. I never brought her anywhere except Ostagar tbh
Oghren is even worse as a female Warden ugghhhh. and I have to bring him down in the Deep Roads of all places? I made the mistake of bringing Lelianna since I maxed out her lock picking and Oghren wouldn't leave my poor girl alone. luckily, I stacked up all his gifts and pushed through his personal quest fairly quickly since I saved Orzammar for last this time. truthfully, it just feels right story-wise - I like to think about the gang sitting around camp wondering how the fuck they're going to get into Orzammar and Neria just being like "guys we've literally gotten in everywhere so far when I pull the Warden card trust me." Neria's a little skeptical of helping Oghren get with a woman, but she's never one to stifle true love.
Alistair. oh my sweet baby boy. I knew he was a really popular romance option, but no one told me I would be literally kicking my feet screaming every single time i'd accidentally click on him while we're exploring. the Dorian romance is fantastic, of course, but this one is 100% for the girlies playing hetero. the rose was literally the cutest thing I think i've EVER seen. the "licking a lamppost in winter" conversation? I was literally dying. I manually saved before every time I intentionally talked to him in camp in case I fucked something up because he's so sensitive (I never had to reload, but still). he can't get me off his mind!!! i'm the first ever woman he's been with and if he has it his way i'll be his last!!!!! I went into this 100% okay with the angst of making him king, but honestly, once I started the actual romance and saw how much heart the writers put into his dialogue with a romanced Warden, I couldn't break them up. the angst behind asking him to impregnate my best friend was more than enough for me. HOWEVER. he said so much stuff about succession in that moment that I got really scared I messed up the Landsmeet and made him king instead of keeping him a Warden which made me anxious for the entire final battle because I would've had to go SOOOO far back to my last save before the Landsmeet. I wish he would be a companion in Awakenings instead of Oghren if you keep him a Warden - I miss dragging my hunky boyfriend around in his dead brother's armor. it's not like we get any real dialogue with companions in Vigil's Keep other than the affinity stuff anyway.
my head canon for these two? my sweet peas? obviously, Neria isn't thrilled to be assigned Warden Commander of Ferelden AND the Arl of Amaranthine, especially since she and Alistair have been more than happy assisting with rebuilding efforts in Redcliffe. she wasn't in this for the leadership role, anyway, but she knew Alistair would be even more unhappy in this position than her. besides, after the chaos in Denerim settled, she and Alistair had adopted a child - an orphan elf who took refuge in the branches of the Alienage tree to avoid the darkspawn hordes. someone has to be there to make sure she's doted on and spoiled while Mom's hard at work! (this will eventually be my Rook heheh). after dealing with even more dark spawn in Amaranthine, Neria leaves the estate in Nathaniel's capable hands and finally heads back to Redcliffe, where now-Arl Teagan has given her and Alistair their own roomy but modest estate. their child, named Lia'dan (an elvish (irl Irish) word for grey - good one, Neria), started showing signs of magic a few years later. since Aneirin, Wynne's friend, is now first enchanter at the Ferelden Circle, the pair felt Lia'dan was in good hands from there. Alistair's absolutely relieved to finally be able to live a life of obscurity with his true love, taking odd missions throughout Thedas for the Wardens (including one that brings him to Kirkwall), until corruption starts to seep through the Wardens' ranks and the two go into hiding... AND I WROTE THIS BEFORE THE EPILOGUE CARD FOR AWAKENING NOT REALIZING IT WOULD SAY EXACTLY THE SAME THING!!!!
anyway. now that i'm done thinking about these two weirdos. what else did I like about this playthrough? i'm procrastinating playing Awakening.
i tried to make as many different decisions as possible, but there are really some where any actual Hero of Ferelden would choose the same option every time - destroying the anvil, not defiling the ashes, stuff like that. I feel like the shitty options, like siding with the werewolves or Branka, just exist for people to do "evil" playthroughs. which i argue is more of an "asshole" playthrough than "evil" playthrough - why would the Hero of the game be evil? saving the mages felt better than the Rite of Annullment, but truthfully, the Templars were much more helpful in the final battle, LOL. I actually solved Kitty's puzzle this time, which felt pretty satisfying to do! last time I got myself tripped up and just left the basement. obviously for this playthrough, I couldn't conscript Loghain, but idk if i'll ever do that. I can't handle either being mean enough to Alistair than he becomes hardened, or him becoming a drunk :( he was Aedan's absolute bestest friend and Neria's true love!!! I wish I had tried the Circle option for Isolde/Connor, but I always just blindly listen to Alistair and go to Redwall first, so I didn't feel like being locked in the Circle to go through all that bullshit when Isolde was ready to die for it.
the most jarring difference between the two playthroughs was how entwined in the narrative Aedan Cousland was compared to Neria Surana. sure, Neria was hype to kill Rendon Howe, but mostly because he sucks, not because he killed her entire family like Aedan. Neria was happy to be Alistair's champion and kill Loghain for him and Duncan, but she wasn't really personally wronged by any of these events. Neria didn't really want her boyfriend and best friend to fuck, but it's a lot better than her or Alistair sacrificing themselves. Aedan, on the other hand, wanted to be with Morrigan more than anything and would've done this whether an Old God Baby happened or not. that's why he follows her into the eluvian - it wasn't about saving the world, it was about them. i was SO disappointed that Neria wasn't able to thank her for everything in Witch Hunt. Neria is our unlucky, unwilling hero, and Aedan is born for this. I would always have Neria question why everyone was asking her to make world-changing decisions, where Aedan would just jump right into it head first. I think that's why Awakening is still a pain in the ass for both of them - Aedan can't stop thinking about his baby, and Neria doesn't want to be there in the first place.
this post is WAAAYYY too long so i will sum up the DLCs quickly. Awakening was still a drag, but this time I focused more on my companions and the quests at the Keep and I found it much more enjoyable. the companions in this DLC are fantastic even though I would've loved the option for warden Alistair to be there. although i would like to state for the record that Awakening Anders after you give him the cat is the best character in the whole series - i love him in DA2 but it's almost a completely different guy. Witch Hunt is basically the same the whole way through, same with Soldier's Peak and Ostagar. i maybe only finished this playthrough 2 hours faster than my first one, which is crazy because i feel like i moved so much faster.
anyway, I'm obsessed with Neria and Alistair and haven't been able to stop thinking about them for the past week since i finished the base game. he just popped up in DA2 and the fucking DIALOGUE for the amulet scene glitched out so he didn't call her the "love of his life" >:( apparently that conversation broke during the very last patch they released for the game which makes me cry. i only googled it to make sure i didn't fuck up our relationship/save import.
i've already started my mage Garrett Hawke DA2 playthrough and I'm almost done with act 2 - stay tuned :)

headcanon but not really it's just straight up facts: Cujo did nothing wrong he was just a poor puppy who died by circumstance and he's a good boy, and if he got to live longer with proper dog training and love and attention, he would've been the bestest boy. (- said by a dog lover who would've loved to adopt Cujo)
i agree. all he has ever done is puppy things with his slightly too large puppy dog body. i recognize why valerie is upset about her dad losing his job and the sudden change in life style she had to go through. i mean her friend group abandoned her and she had to get a minimum wage job. that sucks a lot. but her frustration and anger at her situation is aimed at the wrong things. danny was literally trying to help and prevent the damage, if he wasn't there cujo would have still torn the area apart because he was looking for his toy. and again cujo is just being a dog. dogs aren't intentionally malicious or evil. dogs are pure, good, and dumb. generally they only get dangerous when somethings wrong or they're trained to. so valerie is kind of off base. she saw the bad results and read it as bad intent, when reality it was all an accident.
but again, it's hard to face the reality that there's no one specific to blame for her situation. we could talk about how the security could have been better given the ghost problem. it the boss guys fault for having the poor puppies put down (actually yeah she should fight him), it's valerie's friends fault for being shallow, it's her dad's vault for not having savings or a plan for if he lost the job. there's a lot of directions she could point her anger outside of the dog and the ghost trying to catch him. but getting angry at them doesn't really change what happened or the current situation.
in a lot of ways anger is like a knife. powerful, dangerous, and capable of hurting people when you use it on them. it can be a fantastic tool when used carefully and rationally. but when used irrationally... well.
valerie hurts danny. while her feelings are valid, the way she acts them are irrational. i think its safe to say most people wouldn't become vigilantes because someone broke into the warehouse your dad was guarding and got him fired. she's lashing out a lot and in someways making her situation worse. danny and her were pretty good friends, but she chose to let her mission get between them. her unwillingness to listen to reason means danny cant trust her with his secret even when he wants too. she does good with her ghost hunting, but she also does harm
she's a flawed character. i actually like that about her.
but no, it was never cujo's fault - Hestia

If you could rewrite yashahime what would you change as far as the plot and storylines?
OH BOY THE QUESTION THAT LITERALLY EVERYONE IN THIS FANBASE HAS WONDERED SINCE S1
and this is like. actually hard for me. which is odd bc i'm so invested in Towa Higurashi's character in general and like to think a lot of her but i've never done an extensive AU idea of how to rewrite Yashahime, bc until the clustfuck of the Grim Comet Arc at the very end of S2 i was mostly fine with things i just wished they had did it better, but
Towa not bringing back Setsuna right away. i may be biased but i fucking HATE when storylines do this. when a character dies at the end of an episode or story chapter, and we don't get the next one for MONTHS later, and they're immediately brought back. Guild Wars 2 did this shit too and i HAAAATE it. i feel like it should've been active endeavor, something that should've taken 4-6 episodes to complete. there should have been a mini arc that focused on Towa's efforts to make Tenseiga truly her own sword (like Inuyasha did with Tessaiga with slaying Ryukotsusei) to be able to bring back Setsuna and allow Towa to retain ownership of Tenseiga, a sword which suits her nature more than Sesshomaru's, a sword that Sesshomaru no longer needs. Rin, Tenseiga, and Kagura were the instrumental catalysts of Sesshomaru's growth: i think it would've been incredibly fitting for his daughter, who is more oriented on helping people in general compared to her father to have proven she is a worthy holder of the sword and for it to be her's. i REALLY like Zanseiken but i think her relying primarily on Kikujumonji would've been just fine. this one gets me heated and it's not even Yashahime's fault specifically this is just a trope in writing i fucking hate. don't kill off a character at the end of a book then next year when the next book comes out they're healed in chapter 1. if i ever do this as an author i will consider this my ultimate failing
delve more into Towa's mental health. i fucking LOVED when they actually addressed "hey Towa. you're traumatized and your obsession with protecting Setsuna when she really doesn't need it and has told you that to your face is a direct result of your coping with trauma and that's not really good." i always have this little ritowa scene in my head revolving around Towa like "I want to protect everyone. That is my goal... so... why don't we compromise, Riku-kun? I'll protect everyone... and you'll protect me." like, Towa finding a more healthy middle ground for her ambitions, although i DO love that by the end, during the Grim Comet, it's explicitly clear she wants to protect everyone. maybe this was bc of the rumors of s3 getting axed but i sincerely love how we saw Towa's desires to protect evolve from just Setsuna to the whole world.
keep Kirinmaru's personality more aligned with his S1 personality, although i still like the idea of using Zanseiken or something else as a trap to kill Towa to resurrect Rion. i really love Rion and i really love how much of a dark parallel to Sesshomaru that Kirinmaru was and his own willingness to essentially betray his sense of pride and honor for his daughter, but i still think IN GENERAL AS A WHOLE he should've kept his more prideful and honorable personality. i would've loved to see him clearly disgusted with himself for how cowardly his own plan is with Towa while also refusing to stop
do more with Rion i fucking love Rion so much DO MORE WITH RION. NOBODY EVER DRAWS TOWA/RION. I WANT MORE RION CONTENT IDK WHAT IT WOULD'VE BEEN BUT I WANTED MOR RION.
give Osamu Kirin a consistent ideology and ultimate master plan. him being Towa's final boss and ultimate personal ultimate enemy when Sesshomaru deals with Kirinmaru. that fight when she has to take him on in human form was great, i just think Osamu really needed his. own ideology to be consistent (i still don't mind him having gone back on his own goals in favor of making Rion the new King however)
keep Rin's general writing more in-line with her scenes of holding Bakusaiga to her neck and standing up to Kirinmaru for the sake of the kids. idk what exactly but i would've done SOMETHING that gave her an important job that she pulled off, like something that if not done would've fucked everyone over
actually have Meido Zangetsuha be plot relevant and used once Inuyasha gets out of the pearl like Jaken said it would back in S1
Moroha getting Meido Zangetsuha somehow. Meido Zangetsuha is cool. Moroha is cool. Moroha using Meido Zangetsuha would've been really cool. it could've played into the theme of inheritance from your parents, i think!
honestly Rion being a more proper conflict as a final conflict if they delved into her personality more also would've been good, even if Osamu was the true final villain
the Tree of Ages being a villain like what was apparently originally planned. i remember once during S1 i had this entire deal where Sesshomaru had made a pact with the Tree to take both twins to the modern era in safety only for Treekyo to completely fuck him over and only do it with Towa and telling Towa to her face that in her eyes she was just a backup in case things went wrong and she always meant for Setsuna to do this shit alone basically
so yeah- i don't know how much i would absolutely rewrite, i'd just want more focus on things

It's the Perry-is-a-robot idea anon again! That idea was just a spur of the moment thing and I knew that whatever you came up with would be way better than what I would've come to mind. The implication that the boys gave Perry his human-like AI never even crossed my mind but I absolutely love it, so please, anyone go full ham on this AU!
Wait really oh my god then do I have some Ideas™ for this
First of all I want to preface this by saying that I will literally never have enough time to write all these aus so if you (or anyone else) wants to take that idea (or any of these ideas tbh) and run with it I would so read it and be eternally in your debt
Okay so OWCA has all these animal-looking robots, and they’re basically built to fight and kill and feel no emotions and all that. And idk why but I feel like Perry should still be an exceptionally good agent despite in theory being programmed the same way, so he still gets the hard cases in addition to taking on Heinz as a nemesis (which, for the record, Heinz does not enjoy; Perry the Platypus just stares at him while he’s monologuing and he’s not even sure the guy’s listening and he doesn’t ever feel any remorse when he breaks down all Heinz’s doors and walls and destroys his inators and ugh why is this platypus so cold and unfeeling).
And then like the og post’s “read more” tab says, Perry is coming home from a case (but probably not with Heinz; it’s probably with someone far more dangerous) and he’s pretty badly injured. Fortunately, being a platypus, he doesn’t really feel it; he just knows it’s there and he should do something about it. He’s passing by the Flynn-Fletcher house, Phineas and Ferb notice he’s a robot and he’s hurt, yada yada yada, y’all probably already saw this bc it’s in the og post.
While they’re fixing him up, Perry is just lying there because what does he do, right? At least they seem to know what they’re doing, because he can feel a few select functions that had shut down start up again. But they don’t really process that he’s a conscious platyperson, so they don’t think too much about it when they’re messing around a little and rewiring a few things. Perry has absolutely no idea that they’re doing that until they rewire just the wrong (right?) thing, and Perry’s hit with a huge wave of almost human emotion, and it scares him. He’s never felt emotion before, and to be hit with it all at once is disconcerting, to say the least.
And, as a platypus with nearly-human emotion, he experiences the very real reaction of “fight or flight.” He doesn’t even realize until he’s on the other side of the room that he’s a literal secret agent killer robot, and when he panicked -- which is not something a secret agent killer robot should do, by the way -- he chose to run instead of fight.
And Phineas is immediately freaking out because this platypus did not seem this human a few seconds ago and he would never have played around with his wiring if he knew. But he doesn’t want to spook the little guy any more than he already has, so he kneels down on the ground (and then learns that when he’s kneeling, he’s shorter than a platypus that stands on his hind legs. who would’ve guessed?) and holds out a hand almost like he’s coaxing a cat. And he’s not quite sure how humanlike this bipedal platypus robot is, so he tries talking to him, with something like, “Hey, buddy, are you okay? I didn’t mean to hurt you,” but in that voice you only use with cats you find on the street or little kids that are on the verge of a mental breakdown because they miss their mommy.
And Perry’s still a little wary because he doesn’t know what’s going on with himself, but he has to admit, this kid seems nice? He doesn’t feel safe, but he doesn’t feel like he’s in danger, either. There’s not a malicious bone in either of these kids’ bodies, and he knows that.
So maybe Perry drops down on all fours to prove that he’s not a threat, too, because that’s a piece of OWCA programming that hasn’t been messed with. It’s all part of the undercover thing that’s supposed to keep attention off him, not that it worked today.
And Phineas takes it as a good sign so he’s like, “Hey, little guy. Can you understand what I’m saying?”
And because it’s my self indulgent ask response, Perry nods. They already know he’s a robot, so this can’t be any more against protocol than this entire experience was.
And maybe Phineas asks if he can talk, and Perry shakes his head because OWCA didn’t give their agents that much freedom. They would never willingly let their agents talk back.
And Phineas makes some remark about how he’ll get along really well with Ferb then (and then Ferb waves because wholesome babie) and Perry finds himself kinda smiling which is really weird because he never smiles unless he’s about to kick someone’s ass and they don’t know it yet, but he’s decently sure that’s not what’s happening here?
And they just start talking and Phineas asks a bunch of yes-or-no questions and Perry finds himself answering as many as he can without, you know, incurring the death penalty if OWCA finds out or whatever, and he’s pretty sure he shouldn’t be answering these questions but he can’t help it? And then kinda like these posts (tw for abuse, esp with the first one) said, this is his first experience with compassion, but instead of it being his first time receiving compassion, it’s his first time feeling compassion for someone else (and also his first time receiving it so it’s a whole lot of firsts in this area I guess lol). And he’s still not entirely sure what’s going on with him, but he likes these kids regardless.
And then it starts getting late and Candace pops in and freaks out because ooh you have a platypus in your room you are so busted! and Perry takes that a little too harshly because he hops up on his hind legs and pulls out a knife or whatever because his automatic response when he doesn’t like where a situation is heading is to kill whatever’s making him uncomfortable. Candace, who definitely thought he was just an ordinary platypus -- they don’t do much, you know -- freaks out and runs downstairs to tell her mom, and Phineas has to give Perry a stern-but-not-unkind talking to about threatening his sister with a knife. But it is getting late, and does he have somewhere to be? (nod) And he should probably get going but maybe he can come back tomorrow? (shrug) And if not, hopefully they’ll see each other soon, and that he’s welcome back any time. So he heads out just before Candace drags Linda to the boys’ room, only to find a mysterious lack of anthropomorphic platypuses.
I haven’t thought much beyond their first meeting yet and tbh as I was writing this I realized it would probably be quicker and more efficient to write it out as a real fanfic anyway, but basically I guess the general idea once this is done is that Perry has to figure out how to hide the fact that he has feelings from his superiors? And sure, maybe OWCA is a little too busy to pick up on it right away, but Heinz is the loneliest son of a bitch on the planet so he realizes something is off with his nemesis immediately. And now Perry’s trying to juggle his more emotional nemesisship with Heinz, his newfound friendship with the kids, and his increasingly difficult secret to keep from his bosses? Idk what the climax of the story would be tho so I’m gonna have to think a little more on that but the beginning would probably be mostly just Perry making friends and learning social norms and bein cute and all that :,)

It Was Worth Trying by MidnightLightHowlite | Art by Misa
Rating: General Audiences
Seeing Dazai float face down in a river was not all that unusual. True, it hadn't happened in four years, but the view was not exactly a foreign one. No, what was foreign was the fact that Dazai seemed to be shorter. And younger. And didn't remember him. In retrospect, Chuuya probably shouldn't have let the boy call Mori because that allowed his boss to put him on babysitting duty.
(Or Dazai gets deaged. No romance will happen till they are both the same age again.)
Bandaged Sheep by MidnightLightHowlite | Art by Abel
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
There had been something very weird, very off about the new recruit. He had popped up out of thin air a few months ago, wrapped from head to toe in bandages. Not a word of what he did before, saying he wanted to join the sheep. He wasn't strong or skilled, and truly, there was no logical reason for Chuuya to pay him any mind.
But then the Port Mafia put a huge bounty on his head and things started to get interesting
these days, you’re fine by AquarianTwin | Art by Nella
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Fifth-grade classmates Q and Aya are convinced that their older brothers would make a perfect pair if they’d just stop fighting for five minutes. Dazai and Chuuya, who have been dating for over a year, find this too funny to correct them.
Dazai takes in his younger sibling, Q, after they’re removed from their father’s home. Overwhelmed by the responsibility of raising of a child when he can barely keep himself alive some days, Dazai leans on his partner, Chuuya, to help lead him through. It’s a good thing Q gets along so well with Chuuya’s younger sister, but Dazai thinks he might die of laughter if the pair try to “secretly” set him up on another date with his own boyfriend.

What kept the youngest mafia executive alive enough was a new file, on a newly-acquired powerful cyborg. It started as a project to keep a cyborg a boy. It became more than he expected.

Chuuya laid in the hospital bed, his consciousness slipping away slowly as he patiently awaited his demise. The doctors had assured him he wouldn't feel a thing but for some reason he couldn't shake this feeling his chest. An subtle pain which at this point had coaxed his stomach into a frenzy. Something was wrong but there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it.
In Isolation He Thrived by Maddy | Art by Leo

All his life Dazai felt like a tool, a pawn that was just tossed aside when not needed. He was looked down on and felt useless, so slowly a fire ignited within him and turned him into a merciless person also well known as a "Soulless Demon".
He always believed he was destined to do wrong until one day when he finds Chuuya who proves him wrong.

“I used Corruption because I trusted you,” Chuuya gasps out, and the words leave a hole the size of Yokohama in his chest. He punches Dazai right where that hole is and hopes it hurts him just as much as it hurts Chuuya.
Dazai smiles. He catches him when his vision finally goes dark and the next thing Chuuya wakes to is emptiness in his heart and a stack of neatly folded clothes.
In one universe, they’re partners-turned enemies, the former Double Black, the most fearsome duo in Port Mafia history. They’re Soukoku and they’re spiteful and they’re tangled up in one another more than they’d care to admit.

In Blood we are Sealed by Chaosia | Art by RedZeverin
Dazai stared at his subordinate and the white tiger passed out on the ground, dismayed. It almost worked. This was the fourth person they've went to. There was one more person Dazai could take Atsushi to but he had enough reason to guess that it wouldn't work.
Dazai made a face.
There was one person Dazai knew who could do the job. He'd successfully commit suicide though before that gremlin ever found out he had such thoughts. The taste of metallic filled his mouth. He held in the urge to spit it out.
His ears rang as he imagined a shrieking voice yelling his name like it was the worst insult one could come up with and the mirage of fire that surrounded those blue eyes and foul mouth. Ugh, he was so annoying even in his imagination...and short.
Sticking a pinky into his ear to clear out the haunting voice, Dazai went about gathering up his apprentice and the tiger. Maybe fate would take pity on him and this next trip would solve their problem...
He could feel the cursed blood laughing at him all the way back to their hotel room.
Or a magical AU where Dazai inadvertently gets Atsushi cursed and they have to go to Chuuya, a powerful witch in his own right, to break it.

Quatervois (n.) a crossroads; a critical decision or turning point in one's life
Chuuya didn't expect to see a man hanging from a tree.
Chuuya didn't expect to meet the man again.
Chuuya certainly didn't expect the man to be the crown prince of the kingdom.
...or cardverse au where Dazai is an asshole and Chuuya just wants to have a peaceful life. Is that too much to ask?
flaws and all by alli | Art by phryn
The transition Dazai and Chuuya routinely make between their heated arguing and completely seamless teamwork is being disrupted by their changing relationship. Which is an issue, because the two of them have been assigned to what could possibly be the most important undercover mission of their careers. Will they be able to strengthen their partnership for the better, or will it crack under the ever growing pressure?

In a bid to save their continent from destruction, the kingdoms of Ada and the Port Mafia must put aside their years of tension to form an uneasy alliance. An act of holy matrimony unites Princes Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya, marking the beginning of an infamous partnership.
The affair is strictly political, and perhaps for the better. The two hate each other from the beginning.

Sixteen women have been killed by a vicious serial killer haunting Yokohama’s streets.
Dazai has been chosen to become a part of the elite Bloody Valentine Task Force, even if he personally thinks that it’d be a lot more fun to stay at home with his boyfriend. Especially since it took years to convince Chuuya to finally move in with him.
It’s just a coincidence that Chuuya’s agreed to move in with him the moment he’s been chosen to become a part of the Task Force, right?

Dazai's boring, everyday life ends in an accidental double suicide, but instead of facing the sweet release of endless sleep, Dazai finds himself in the Spirit World, where nothing is familiar and dangerous, soul-eating spirits lurk behind every corner. It all started with diamonds.
Chuuya thinks he would've been just as attracted to it if it wasn't for the equally shiny police badge in his pocket.
It all ends with a silver bullet.
For someone as talented in the dance of crime, Dazai has developed quite a bias about the jewels that would catch anybody's fancy.
Diamonds? They're overrated. Old. Boring.
Rubies? Sapphires?

Avatar The Last Airbender/Korra AU: The world has changed. Technology can meet nearly every need, to the point where bending is considered a relic of the past, and with it, the Avatar. In fact, no one has seen the Avatar for nearly 100 years, and most people prefer to keep it that way.
Nakahara Chuuya, Prince of the Fire Nation, more than understands what it's like to be considered a relic. After the Fire nation moved to a parliamentary system, the title of Fire Lord is a largely ceremonial one, and Chuuya struggles under the burden of an office that restricts his every move without giving him any actual power to enact change.
When he runs away, intent on finding his own path, it seems like fate when he runs into Dazai Osamu, a mysterious man who claims he has a way to cure the unexplained illness Chuuya has suffered from his whole life.

If you venture into the slums of Suribachi City, you’ll find the witch Dazai Osamu, known as the Necromancer, and his barely tamed beast, Arahabaki. Did you get your wish, or dig your own grave? These are the grim tales of a witch and a creature, trying to figure out their humanity, overseeing the consequences of taking death too lightly.

fire and calamity by Jasmine | Art by Zen
Arahabaki has left its vessel, leaving Chuuya in a comatose state. Dazai and the rest of the ADA now have to track the god down and capture it for two reasons. One, because Chuuya knows the whereabouts of the Book. Two, because if they don't, they lose him forever. (ADA!Chuuya, established!SKK)

to the deep shadow where the dead dwell,
but ever a voice that I knew well,

enchanted drew me back to the light!"
Nakahara Chuuya, the elven lord commander of the kingsguard of kingdom of Mirkwood, singing in the woods. With a sudden intervention from Dazai Osamu, a mysterious being that was caught in between his tunes, they became best friends afterwards. Or perhaps it is more than that?
Time to time, one story comes with another. The truth finally unveils, and the clock is ticking faster. What exactly is Dazai? Why does he act so familiarly to Chuuya? And perhaps the biggest question we need the answer is: What makes them always connected, even for thousands of years?

“Oh, really?” Tachihara says, sounding disappointed. He pauses for a second, clearly processing what Chuuya’s just told him, and then says, “Who is it?”
Chuuya certainly hadn’t budgeted for this.
Panicking, he tries to think of the people that he knows that are single, and before he knows it, the first name that comes to mind is slipping out of his mouth. “With Dazai.” / After a momentary lapse in judgment, high school student Chuuya ends up having to pretend to date his enemy Dazai to get Tachihara off of his back - and quickly finds it's nowhere as bad as he'd imagined.

Crimson Memoirs by Luneath & Abel | Art by lefterstein

By the power of great ancient magic, supernatural beings are aptly hidden just behind the eyelids of humans. Vampires, witches, weres, faeries – all of them live and exist out of the fairy tales books.
Humans' eyes are just shielded into not comprehending their true nature, their magic, and their trickery. To protect them, the Gods say. But Dazai has always known that he’s no ordinary human. From the gift of seeing beyond the magic veil to the peculiar dreams to the aching, hollow feeling hugging his chest in a tight embrace – he knows he’s different.
What Dazai doesn’t know is that this isn’t the start of his story and the stranger with glowing blue eyes that have always been the center of his recurring dreams. What Dazai doesn’t know is that this is not exactly his first life. Dazai doesn't know a lot of things. But with time, he will come to know that he doesn't mind dying the second time for Chuuya.

Not everyone has a destined partner. Theoretically, even Dazai and Chuuya aren't supposed to. Are being programmed not to, even.
But whether they're "meant" to be together or not is irrelevant. Dazai wants Chuuya to be his, and so Chuuya will be his.
... If only it were actually that simple.
pointless by Lua | Art by Behax

It was an annoyance after everything that happened, and yet, Chuuya found himself on the doorsteps of a man that he had more than enough reasons to kill. He could come up with excuses, but he was not in the habit of lying to himself. At times, Chuuya would describe their relationship as an addiction he couldn't get rid of. This was ridiculous. Dazai was now a traitor and a coward; what did that make of Chuuya himself to know where to find him and keep that a secret?

He could deny it however many times he wanted to, but Dazai could see through it every time. The lies over his lips, the false smiles and misleading words. When Dazai betrays the ADA for the Port Mafia, he’s greeted as the prodigal son. That doesn’t mean he’s trusted, however, and now that he’s betrayed the Port Mafia and ADA alike, he has far more enemies than friends. As Dazai works to survive the heart of the viper’s nest, it quickly becomes clear that Chuuya will save him - or be the reason he fails.
Chuuya, meanwhile, knows Dazai too well to trust that his cards are on the table. But as he finds himself at Dazai’s mercy, and caught between loyalties, he realizes there’s no other option but to master the god that lives beneath his skin and hope he survives long enough to protect the organization to whom he’s sworn his life.
But first they both must realize that a mighty long fall awaits.

Note
I imagine that her fate at the end of season one would have been even more impactful if her character had been more like Redbeard's. If she had been the one calling the shots, bossing them around, beating their asses in fights, I feel like her fate at the end would be even more crushing. It would have also made Furia and Dianite seem like that much more of a threat.
We could have also gotten her telling Sparklez what other Ianite followers are like. To me, Sparklez is chaotic neutral. He seeks balance for the sake of his own self interest. If Tom and the other Dianite devotees are leaving him alone then he acts more chaotically. He's only reigned in by his own sense of self preservation because if he acts on his impulses then that would only allow Tom to take it one step further until Dianite got his way and the whole land of Mianite would be plunged into anarchy.
So yeah, Sparklez kept the peace and largely aligned with Mianite. But I think it was mostly for selfish rather than altruistic reasons (unlike what I headcanon Spark Plug to have been like). We see a bit more of this in season two when Tom isn't around as much and as a result Sparklez goes a bit more buck wild. He also knew the mods the best so who could really even stop him when he went all chaotic prankster.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. The idea of the pirates being Ianite followers is really interesting to me. We got to see how greedy they were for gold, and how they weren't afraid to blow shit up to get it. They were even more chaotic than Sparklez which is really intriguing because to me Sparklez is already on the outer boundary of what could be considered "balanced".
I would've loved to see Capsize and Sparklez talk about Ianite, and have her share what it means for the pirates to follow the goddess. Even just one or two conversations like that would have made her a much stronger character. Not to mention Sparklez assumed he made Ianite up, and that he was the only follower. To suddenly learn that there are others that follow your deity must've been nuts and I wished they had leant in with that and made Sparklez and Captain Capsize more "Ianite buddies who are also both captains that butt heads sometimes" rather than poorly done love interests.
And I haven't even talked about Tom yet. I already mentioned how the pirates are way more chaotic than Sparklez (who is our only reference for what an Ianite follower should be like up until that point). They exhibit a lot of traits I associate with Dianite followers actually.
I think it would have made the ending a lot more cohesive if Tom and Capsize bonded over that. If Tom and Capsize hung out and blew shit up and caused general pirate-esque chaos, I think he would have had a much better reason for turning on Dianite in the end.
Tom was the most loyal of the champions. He was a dedicated Dianitee up until he basically had to choose between being left out of all the plot the Mianite/Ianite alliance was cooking up, or betraying his god to be allowed in on the story.
Even when he was working with Tucker, Sonja, and Sparklez, near the end he always seemed conflicted about whether he should be trying to kill the goddess they just rescued or not. And don't get me wrong, I loved the distressed confliction he went through after killing Dianite, but I also think it wasn't led up to very well.
Tom joined the rest of them because if he hadn't then he wouldn't have gotten to participate in a bunch of stuff. Furia betraying Dianite helped him be able to join in but after they died there wasn't much reason for his continued alliance with Mianite and Ianite.
If Captain Capsize spent more time with him as a friend, showing him that he could still be chaotic and have fun as an Ianite devotee, then maybe he would have considered switching. Maybe he would have had more of a reason to betray Dianite. His friends were important to him, it's why he chose them in the end. But it would have been an added bonus if Capsize had taught him that he didn't have to sacrifice his nature to get along with Maintie and Ianite followers.
Overall I feel like Captain Capsize had a lot of wasted potential.
But the good thing about Mianite being such a small fandom is we can all talk about these characters and change them in our own fan works and stuff. So rest assured, if I ever draw or write anything with Capsize in it, it will be with the version of her that I proposed above. Anyone else is free to use or change my concept for her as well!
2 unpopular opinion (cause I’m just full of those today) if Capsize was written by a woman that “romance” with Jordan wouldn’t have happened + even the Mianite wiki is unsure whether she liked anyway
Riiiiight, I would have loved it if her character didn’t revolve around her playing hot and cold with Jordan and Tom
She could have been so coooooool
