Oh, also unrelated, but I always went by that choice too! And same, for me it was mercy to take the rose - I'm with you on that one, I think it is cruel to let her suffer like that. But on the other hand Iris seems to be so afraid of vanishing once and for all and kinda holds on to the rose? I thought it could lead them to feel differnt about this scenario. With Jaskier wanting to offer immediate comfort (not taking it, not making her even sadder, not scaring her) and Geralt wanting to help her in the long run (letting her rest).
