Also… the Decamerone has at its core a hopeful message, that one can overcome any adversity…not that everybody bloody dies!
Not to mention the message on the respect of women… not even a footnote in the show…
Did they even skim the book?! Probably less than a 13 years old Italian kid that just gets interested when erotica is mentioned about it in school…
Funniest thing is how I remember the two themes…because Boccaccio bloody tells what they are in the end. No need to paraphrase, he literally wrote it down!
Basically they took the name, a few (few) of the names of the characters and the villa’s location…
They could have at least taught the actors ( don’t get me started about their nationality…seriously a fucking Irish one?) to bloody pronounce padrone/a right!
It wasn’t even 10 episodes!
I should have trusted my instinct…
