Cordelia’s been going through her own hell while Lucies barely been there for her lying to her, let’s not act like she’s much better and Alastairs done what he’s done and reaped the consequences for it unfortunately.

James disappointed since he and Cordelia reunited I don’t wish for Cordelia to be “called out by Lucie” because really she doesn’t have much right to and it’s wrong. Cordelia didn’t think he took the marriage seriously and Lucie knows it’s not official between them, but she goes and writes a childish book? yeah I’m not praising that I’m sorry ..

(I will like to preface this by saying it has been a while since I’ve read cog/coi and I’m little (read: very) hazy on many of the details atm)

I mean, Lucie and Cordelia have both been lying and keeping secrets for each other, and they’re not the only characters doing so. Cot is ultimately going to be a book where all these secrets start to (or continue to in some cases) catch up with them. The consequence of this is it’s going to cause a lot of tension between characters, as they react to what they now know.

The events of the leak are very obviously going to cause a lot of fallout when they (inevitably) are made known to the others. Lucie is probably going to have Opinions about it, given it involves her brother and best friend. Also we don't know what Lucie knows when she writes the Wicked Cordelia or any of the surrounding context to all of this. we only have random sentences and pieces of information that we can speculatively piece together; we can't really say who's right or wrong in a situation we know next to nothing about.

As for Alastair, he's been reaping the consequences for three books now for something that happened years ago. like maybe this is callous but I truly do not care about what happened at the academy anymore and would like for everyone to just move on 😭 I would honestly have more patience for the whole thing if they didn't just solely focus on the rumour. like yes, he did call Matthew Gideon's bastard, but the day before he nearly killed you so idk if that's what you should be focusing on :/ maybe that's just me tho
