Internal States

A touring site-specific installation using a caravan as a vessel for current projects ‘Misguided’, raising questions around how we map ourselves and our  emotions. The caravan is a gigantic viewing box for looking both inwards and outwards. Themes of travel, neglect, anxiety and isolation inform the work and also a sense of being in place whether at home or away or travelling.

A project blog was produced and includes portraits of visitors to the caravan, and also a 'diary of emotion' to record audiences’ feelings, emotions and responses to the project. This took the form of a physical book with postcards written by participants -  images below and here:   http://internalstates.blogspot.com/ 

Caravan Re-purposed (2010) 1981 Alpine Sprite Caravan 12ft x 10ft (interior including seating, display cabinet and plinths) Interior - white walls, grey floor and dry transfer headings and postcard wallpaper reproduced from the Misguided book on walls/ceiling. Exterior – white walls and free standing signage  

Projects: Misguided Misguided artists' book (details here) and Misguided postcard boxed set (thirteen individual postcards reproduced from book presented in archive postal boxes wrapped in kraft paper, screen printed)

Yaay it's finally a sunny enough day to pop up the parasol!
