probably an unpopular opinion but even though I'm super pissed at Aveline for not keeping me as Hawke abreast of the circumstances behind the Arishok providing political sanctuary to the murder elves in Demand of the Qun and letting me know that it was likely a revenge killing against a rapist Guardsman- I do think it's a really bad look on Hawke that Aveline asked Hawke to go in there as part of a united front in dealing with a foreign dignitary - something Aveline has definitely returned the favour on in Hawke's business dealings - and Hawke in the middle of that very tense and volitile negotiation can turn on Aveline and dress her down right in front of the Arishok. But also if you don't call her out on her shit then, you lose your chace forever in the parlance of the game so... :/
Guess it's one of those things I think the average Hawke - entrenched in Kirkwall politics, aware that Aveline is one of their only high ranking allies, aware of the safety risk to themself in socially humiliating one of said allies - should probably have a different view on compared to your average player - who has way more reason to prioritise their emotional outrage and betrayal.
