Friday’s gonna be my alnst post day. Like I’m gonna spam about “Blink Gone” and also spill the tea on Ruby and Xinyi’s relationship/past. Be prepared for chaos.

The Past

Xinyi hurriedly walked down the hallway. No. No. No. Don’t interact. You’ll only hurt her again. Pretend she isn’t there. It’s for her own good. She repeated the same mantra that had played over and over in her head since that day.

“Xinyi! Wait!”

Ruby.

Xinyi sped up. She didn’t want to talk to her right now. After all, it was Xinyi’s fault for what happened. It was fine if she ignored Ruby for another day. Heck, it was probably for the best. That was precisely why Xinyi had been distancing herself from Ruby for the past 3 years.

“Xinyi, just talk to me, damn it!” Ruby yelled, picking up the pace to catch up.

“Ruby, it’s better if you stay away,” Xinyi said.

“It wasn’t your fault.”

Xinyi froze. She knows.

How was it not her fault though? She was the one who let Ruby get hurt trying to defend Xinyi from her guardian. Xinyi’s guardian had been beating her, which, sadly wasn’t uncommon, and Ruby saw it and stepped in. Ruby’s right eye was sliced open, causing her to lose vision in it completely.

Xinyi never forgave herself for what happened. Ruby was always going to stand up for her, and she was just going to get more hurt. That’s why Xinyi couldn’t keep Ruby close. She had to protect her. Because she couldn’t that day.

Little did Xinyi know, she only hurt Ruby more with her actions.

“Can we please talk again?”

Ruby was crying. Xinyi felt tears well up in her own eyes at the thought of seeing her beloved Ruby cry.

Xinyi turned her head slightly.

“I’m sorry.”

Xinyi ran. Ruby punched the wall in anger.

“Damn it, Xinyi.”

I am rwbyofmyheart, but the names you can call me are Ruby or Elle. (Obviously neither is my actual name, but they are what I will be using for this tumblr blog to protect my privacy.)
