So you said realistically and I think I have a very different opinion on Noah and romance than seems to be the popular opinion on here, so like, disclaimer for that lmao also I definitely have familiarized myself with this man’s birth chart so if you don’t like astrology bs this might be annoying to you, anyways!!

I think he’d be sooooo charming, if he was interested in you in any way. Like, almost in a slimy way- you can’t tell if he speaks to all romantic prospects this way, or if it’s just you. I think Vincent would be quick to accept Ana into the family. He can see Ana is a skilled woman, so he'd respect her. Maybe there'd be a bit of wariness from him, because that's how he is, but even so, he knows Priscilla is smart, and if his little sister chose Ana, then surely he can trust her. Ana could take a liking to him as well; she'd definitely have fun teasing him. Plus, Ana calling Vincent "our brother" when talking to Priscilla would be cute.

As for Arakiya, perhaps she'd initially be a bit jealous of Ana. I think Ana would make attempts to approach Arakiya nonetheless, and even though Arakiya isn't very talkative, Ana, thanks to her natural skill with words, could find a way to interact with Arakiya that doesn't make the latter uncomfortable. And, feeling validated by this and also impressed by Ana's finesse overall, Arakiya could warm up to her.

Pris is almost definitely the type to brag about having a partner, if not to goad others and observe their reaction. I can see her using her relationship with Ana to torment an emotionally repressed Vincent whos still trying to beat all the thoughts of Chisha. Like “you couldnt kill me and you couldnt even beat me at getting into a relationship. and youre the emperor? lol. Lmao even.”

And 10000% I think you hit the nail on the head with Vincent in that he’d be wary, probably coming up with a bunch of escape plans for Pris if she somehow gets on the wrong side of the Iron Fang (or if he knew about Ana’s connection to Halibel), but would eventually warm up as she’s got that easygoing, business mentality that he can respect. I think he’d find it just as entertaining as Pris does when Ana backtalks them and slyly insults them.

Ana calling Vincent “our brother”,,,, thats so precious omg. Pris mocking her habits of collecting people and being a conniving fox while Ana’s like “I’m a greedy gal, course I’d monopolise my future wife’s family too. I aint exactly got one of my own.” and one hit KOing Pris.

god speaking of foxes I gotta wonder just how funny it’d be to Ana that Pris’ mother is a fox demihuman. Like theyre both fox women in a certain sense, even if Pris dismisses her whenever its brought up.

Arakiya is a difficult one because (at least current canon anya) shes very, very obsessed with Pris. That whole line of her being willing to dismember Pris just to keep her on the throne haunts me. So I imagine if she found out about Ana, she’d be furious at first. Pris has picked someone weak who cant protect her (abandoned Arakiya when she couldnt do the same, one of her biggest regrets) and Pris has actively picked someone as far removed from Vollachia as they come.

But I do think with time and character development, Arakiya would soften up a lot. Ana can’t protect her directly in the way Arakiya wants, but she has dozens of people capable of doing so for her. She’s good at negotiating, and eventually I imagine Arakiya will have to contend with the fact Pris is strong enough on her own. It’d take a long time for Arakiya to acknowledge Ana as worthy for the Princess, but I like to imagine her and Cecilus going to Kararagi for (his) clothes shopping and Ana tagging along to get to know Anya better.

Oh, oh and I cant forget how juicy the whole “Ana is on borrowed time” thing would be as a reveal to her inlaws. Pre them getting along I can see it be a huge reason for Vincent and Arakiya to oppose the relationship on account of their protectiveness of Pris. But after theyve got positive opinions of Ana? It’d be devastating. Poor Vincent reliving what happened with Chisha, expecting the reveal to crush Pris, while Pris insists on her world working in her favour mindset. Arakiya remembering Prisca’s reaction years back would cause her to really, really panic. She’s just gotten the princess back—would her partners untimely death break her worldview once more, or is there anything Arakiya can do to finally make it up to her?

At this place, the training was flippin’ HORRIFIC. Like I’ve played games like Resident Evil, watched anime like “Higurashi: When they Cry”, and this was worse. They forced up to swallow these pill things, I still don’t know what they did it what they were for, but we- everyone there did it without question, we’d be shot dead if we didn’t. 

They put us in shooting training, and hand to hand combat, technology stuff, as if I didn’t know how to use a Personal Computer or a handheld gun already.. 

And the highlight of it all, it was never safe. They ENCOURAGED shooting and killing your “classmates” in order to proceed up the ranks and eventually graduate. They starved us too, it was kinda scary, always having to be alert, but fr tho, COME AT ME BRO. Sorry the brainrot got to me, anyways, we got any food and our sleeping quarters was like a jail, like seriously if you want us to be productive then maybe give us an actual room?? Tf??

The food I could eat, I had to be really careful, another classmate could have poisoned it or something with hopes of offing me so they would be one point up the leaderboard, so I just didn’t eat, I ate like.. a thing or two that I was 10000% sure was safe. That’s about it. 

They sent us to these.. surgeries? Yeah, surgeries, one person would get certain things implanted or removed, like I remember seeing some string-like thing being removed from a classmate’s brain, maybe a worm?? I dunno, but like.. brother euuugghhhhhhhh.

 While a classmate was operated on, the rest of us watched. I remember people dropping like flies during the procedures, only to be dragged off and never seen or heard from again..

I’ll spare you, and myself because I don’t think I wanna talk about it anymore.

~MEETING KARINA~

I will say that there was this girl, uhh… Karina Siling, she had already graduated from the academy, I guess that what you could call it. She was already like a teacher, I remember the first time I had a solo class with her, whenever I saw her around the academy, like passed by her, I always got such a weird vibe about her, like she was some anime villain or something, maybe it’s just because she’d been through a lot. Or maybe it was my head telling me to stay the hell away from her, either way, we met. Tbh, I was gonna say I was injured or sick or something so I couldn’t go, but I went anyways, and honestly, I’m glad I did!~ 

Karina was actually SHOCKINGLY kind, drastically different from the other instructors. She was in charge of one on one combat training, she was really good at her job, no wonder she already had a callsign, “Black Swan” is what they called her. But she said I could just call her “Karina” when around other people, and “unnie*” when it was just us. When I went to her class injured or malnourished or something, she’d give me a break and when asked about it, she’d tell the higher ups that I had been helping her.

Karina made my time at Prestige Academy much more bearable.. until she just.. disappeared???? Like what the flip Karina where did you go?? If you didn’t wanna teach me anymore you coulda just said so lmaoooo‼️‼️‼️

KABOOM. I FUCKIN’ SURVIVED‼️‼️

Insert several years later, when was 18, I finally graduated from that hellhole, I still didn’t know what happened to Karina, but I didn’t have time to worry about that, I was FREE!-

Until I was assigned to literally LEAVE my HOME UNIVERSE and go to some place called “Yokohama”, in Japan, in a completely different universe! Like what the fuck man, you’re gonna send a 18 year old who only knows a lab and a shitty learning environment to a different universe??? Alone??? No wonder most of the instructors ain’t got families, they were fucking idiots! 

Anyways, since I didn’t have a choice because free will? What’s that? I was sent to Japan. I was supposed to like… scout the area for other LITERAL CHILDREN to bring back to Prestige Academy. 

Jokes on them because I just faked my death, found a video of some poor dude dying in a explosion and used some AI to replace the dude with myself and sent it back to base with a fake “Yo if you’re seeing this I fucking DIED because of a damn unsafe work environment. THIS IS ON YALL FRFR.”

Very convincing, right? AND YAY GOD IS REAL THEY FELL FOR IT‼️‼️

I was officially signed off as dead in Anti-Entropy’s eyes and I moved locations and decided to do whatever the heck I wanted in order to get money and such. I made my own new identity, and hacked government files in order to make myself a “actual person” in Japan, an Immigrant I guess you could say lmaoooo-

My government file had stuff like my name “Winter Volkova”, yes, my real name “Snezhana” is NON-EXISTENT BRO. I don’t want ANYONEEE to call me that name. You better address me as Winter or I’m leaving you on delivered lol

~Life in Yokohama~

Aight, so time skip a while, I set up a place for myself in an old warehouse on a part of town no one ever goes to and set up my PC, some RGBY lights and made the warehouse into a slay asf gaming/living place for myself. 

I made money by doing a bunch of jobs for people like making better filing softwares for some “Armed Detective Agency” and straight up faking or destroying government files or tracking down targets for a certain mafia.

One day, I was walking through the city headed back from buying my usual several gallons of banana milk and ramyeon and other foods, when I bumped into someone…

FUCKING KARINA SILING?? WTF ARE YOU DOING HERE?? OMGGG-

It was Karina‼️‼️ Turns out she had faked her death too and left Anti-Entropy, but she wasn’t able to tell me, she had joined some organization called the “World Serpent”, and she wanted me to join her, claiming that I could do whatever I wanted, like I’ve always been doing, but instead of living in a warehouse, I’d get to have my own room in a place where I’d get to come and go as I wanted, whenever I wanted. Seemed like a pretty sweet deal to be honest.. 

It was a pretty sweet deal, but giiiirrrll-

I’ve been living fine on my own, why would I WANT to tie myself down to a single organization? 

Karina said I could have some time to think about it, then I could call her. 

Throughout that week, she kept visiting me and bringing other members of this World Serpent to meet me, a young dude named Yuta Maus Sakuya, he was originally from where I am too, where he was a level 7 Hollow Guide with the callsign “Helix”, and then Karina brought a man named Vega Chase. He was the leader of the Yokohama branch of the World Serpent, and a Hollow Guide himself, he didn’t have a callsign though, he just called himself “Vega”, I guess because no one in their right mind would think a guy with a name like that was ACTUALLY named like that. 

A week after all that, I was like “yk what, YOLO.” And I joined the World Serpent!!! Yay‼️‼️‼️

As promised, I was allowed to come and go whenever I want, I did have to go through Hollow Guide training, but it was fun— and EASY. I got my own callsign, ‘Virtual Angel’ literally so slay, right? 

I guess that’s everything up to now. Damn, looking back, I only have one thing to say… Miss Creator, WHAT THE FLIP MAN?? WHO HURT YOU????

ok final thots. thank you to those who supported me liveblogging both those episodes i love doctor who so much. i also unfortunately love being a critic

all three dw episodes seem to be engaging heavily in this new folklore-ish lean that was established in wild blue yonder - the goblin stealing children, the bogeyman, the fiddle battle with the devil. im interested to see where it goes bc i think its a compelling throughline and one thing rtd lovessss is creating episodic stories that resolve into an overarching narrative. I do think DW seems to be pivoting towards its more family-centric roots, which is fine i guess. I am aware im not the target audience of doctor who but i do love her for her darker moments so ill always be a little sad

i think its kind of funny that the bbc lied in their marketing a little? like space babies was not about the first 5 second butterfly thing and the beatles were barely in the devils chord. actually really funny i literally cant be mad

ncuti is literally electrifying every time hes on camera. i believe he's the doctor 10000% and he really brings that combination of whimsy and sadness to the role that makes me want to see more of 15. ruby i find....less compelling. at least as of rn. I think the main point of interest for her is the mystery of her origin but as a character she's kind of a non-entity in the same way i found many of 13s companions. she almost reminds me of early season Clara in that she's just kinda Mystery Twee Girl but Clara ended up as one of my favorites because she became the most sick and twisted woman on planet earth over the course of 3 beautiful seasons so I have not lost hope yet.

However I do think the companion-doctor relationship is the thing the entire show runs on and I'm not, AS OF YET, super compelled by what 15 and ruby have going on. Hitting a lot of the same notes as rose/9 without the emotional follow-through and DISAGREEMENTS that really made that relationship interesting to watch. I think that's the main thing is I need to see some kind of conflict. 15 is a lot more open than any previous doctor by a LONG shot, presumably because of 14s off-screen therapy LMAO. There's a lot on the table up front in terms of backstory and personality (which i get helps set up new fans) but that also means a lot of the narrative tension created by that kind of inside information is lost. We need something else to replace it and make that dynamic interesting! For me doctor who maintains its narrative momentum through character relationships, i'm not particularly interested in just seeing Space Adventures without that kind of meat behind it idk. it makes them feel a little hollow to me

Even though I was used to the melodramatic soap opera that is the Marguerite show my jaw dropped when they showed billy fully drinking in the finale lmao they truly missed the mark on almost every aspect of the book it’s almost impressive

I was... blown away by how rough those final episodes were. Biggest complaints, though I have many:

--The way Camila was just shuffled out of importance in the narrative is... staggering. And sad. This really was just Daisy and Billy Fanservice: The Show. Camila dies two decades earlier than she should, she has two fewer kids than she should, she's treated worse by Daisy and Billy yet tells them to get together, basically, and she loses one of her most powerful moments in the book. The moment where SHE tells Daisy that Billy is in love with her, and it doesn't matter, because nothing will tear Billy and Camila apart. Her ownership of that moment is given to Daisy, a woman who has been a piece of shit to her through the entire show, despite the fact that Camila has been nothing but kind and gracious to her. She's given one moment to tell Daisy what's up, and even that is muted (though I liked how Camila Morrone played it; she's one of the cast standouts for me).

The thing is that if you read interviews, they say they made these changes to give Daisy power, as if they're striking out on this feminist creed lmao, but in doing so they deprive Camila of all the power and agency she had in the book. And Daisy has power. She's single, she's independently wealthy, she's successful, she's adored, she's talented. Her biggest enemy is herself. Camila's power is meant to be this internal strength--despite on the surface seeming like a stereotypical housewife financially dependent on her man, she's got a willpower and a determination to not give up control of her life, and to not let Daisy and Billy and their bullshit wreck the life she wants. They absolutely took that away from her. I fucking hate it.

--By girlbossifying Daisy you basically undermine exactly how much of a mess she was. The show already portrays addiction in an extremely fluffy way. It's so dumb lmao. Have Riley Keough hop around in circles a lot, that is THE FACE OF ADDICTION. Have Sam Claflin be basically obnoxious, that is WHAT ADDICTION LOOKS LIKE. Give me a break. The fact that Daisy had to be shaken into recognizing how bad shit got by other people was... honestly? Kinda real in the book. Like, yeah, she made her final decision to leave, and that was the first step of her claiming power. But she basically had to be slapped into reality by Camila because she was unable to see clearly through this cloud of drugs, and also frankly a life in which, though she worked hard, she did often stumble into success and was born into money.

--Billy falling off the wagon... and not because Teddy died? Lmao? Was HILARIOUS. In the book Teddy dies and Billy I think like, sips a drink; he almost totally relapses, and then he doesn't, and it's very intense. Here, for some reason Teddy lives... The tension of which they totally undermined by showing that he was alive in the 80s, by the way, great writing choice there... and Billy falls off the wagon because his baby, who he previously seemed to give zero fucks about, left his ass. And then we see Sam Claflin give a truly... interesting... off the wagon performance. I say this as someone who thinks Sam CAN act--if I wanted to see a man demonstrate "I'm off the wagon and you can tell because I'm doing crazy eyes on stage", I would've watched Walk The Line.

Fuck, if I wanted to watch "two performers make eyes at each other while the wife glares in the audience", I would've watched Walk the Line. I have issues with Walk The Line, but for real, JUST WATCH WALK THE LINE. The music is much better and it won Reese Witherspoon an Oscar. (REESE. GIRL. WHAT EVEN WAS THIS SHOW. PUT THE NFTS DOWN SLOWLY.) Reese going "YOU CAN'T WALK NO DAMN LINE" in Walk The Line was 10000% more subtle and engaging than anything this show gave me, ever.

--Warren remains great. The standout of this show.

--Karen being all sads face about Graham I... Lol, the point in the book is that Karen looked back on that shit with some fond wistfulness but lived a banger of a life because she ultimately loved herself and her career more than she loved Graham, and she was mature enough to realize that and to realize that she and Graham could not POSSIBLY make each other happy. I just wish we could have a story about a woman who had an abortion and went "no regrets". Camila supporting her was lovely, but that was a blink and you miss it abortion story in a time where we need good abortion stories onscreen.

Maybe they would've had more time for it if we hadn't had as many shots of Daisy hopping around like an energizer bunny. DON'T DO DRUGS KIDS, YOU BECOME A POGO STICK.

"Let's be broken together" and then she realizes it's a bad relationship so she sloughs him back to his wife. Lol I can't.
