Took Pixie on our last big wood walk together before she heads to her forever home tomorrow. It’s been a whirlwind month or so together and I’m going to miss my lil’ lodger so much. But, it’s time for her to begin her new life with a new family who will hopefully love her as much as I have. I’m going to take a break from dog fostering for a few weeks to catch up with friends, family and work and maybe do a bit of travel (Pixie’s least favourite thing). Then, I’ll probably be ready for another dog friend to come and stay with me for a while. 🐕 💕. Ok, this may not look like much but it’s a tiny, perfectly formed fungi from my bucket list, I’ve never seen before in real life - a scarlet elf cup. It’s about the size of the tip of my finger and I only just spotted it while heading to look at the bad boys in the next photo - a plethora of stump puffball mushrooms. Took a morning walk to the strange sound of seagulls today. We’re about an hour or so from the coast in the car so it felt a little odd but welcome. Photos from yesterday’s long walk in the woods. Funny how Jeanie looks like she’s smelling the flowers. We saw lots of wild flowers including Scilla, daffodils, violets and blackthorn blossom. One of the pathways along the field at the back of Alma Woods has been overtaken by Queen Anne’s lace or cow parsley or wild carrot or some such. It’s taller than me which gave great covering to watch the hawks lark around in the nearby trees.
