With stunning views of the Tokyo Tower, lunch at Pierre Gagnaire in Tokyo was the perfect way to close out my Asia trip! As expected given its 2 Michelin stars, the cuisine, presentation, service, and plush decor were all top notch! . This meal focused heavily on beautifully-presented, local Japanese ingredients. The amuse course, for example, has to be seen to be believed! (Pic 2). The appetizer included my two favorite items in the entire meal - a spectacular coconut soup and a succulent sashimi course that included sea urchin! (Pic 3). This was followed by a whitefish entree (video pic 4), a dessert trio that included a delicious hazelnut ice cream, and later a fourth dessert (pics 5-8)! . I paired the food with a dry vodka martini (or two) and then switched to coffee for the dessert courses.
