The morning of the Fourth dawned bright and clear, and like at Thanksgiving, chores and breakfast were completed early and quickly. Instead of people being conscripted to KP, we all loaded into vehicles and drove into town for the Fourth of July parade. Everyone was dressed in some patriotic outfit for the day. ... Aunt Josephine set up her baked goods stand, where the bounty of goodies baked and bagged the day before would be given out ... Almost before I knew it, the parade was over, and we packed up to caravan back to the farm, with some additional cars behind us as Asami and some locals who’d been invited to the cookout. ... Every year, it turned into a sort of grilling contest between the different Dads, but that wouldn’t be for a little bit. First, everyone dispersed to the different games that were set up.  ... My dress was a strapless ballgown with a yellow brocade bodice that stopped just before hitting my hips, with a pattern of flowers woven in the fabric. The flower theme continued as a print on the skirt, a collection of red, blue and yellow wildflowers hanging down from my waist to halfway down the skirt. At my waist was a wide blue silk ribbon that made a bow with long trails down the back, and on my right hip was a large broach of yellow and red flowers. ... Her dress was also a strapless ballgown with flower patterns, but that’s where the similarities ended. Her dress was mostly white, with a pattern of bunches of red roses. Draped on one half of the bodice was a large piece of red tulle, which wrapped around the top half of the skirt and was cinched in at the waist by a silver ribbon. ... Squad Prowl was a team with a lot of fluctuation. Though Chief Tactician Prowl and Chief Scientist Wheeljack remained on the team for its whole duration, its other members changed as mecha were rotated in and out of Ark Base. ...
