Lines and Veils (Triggerlist)

Upon reading other RP blogs, I have noticed many have posted a triggerlist for themselves and I have realized it might be wise to do the same here.

I have some squicks and triggers; I will separate them here so you can see here what may be workable but is not preferred, and what subjects are hardline no's. I like the term "lines and veils" as used by one of my TTRPG friends, as it well describes how I interact with various subjects. If one of my veils (handle with care but can be alluded to or fade to black) is a line for you, just message me and tell me during the planning stage or if need be, after. Please respect my lines (hardcore off-limits subjects). I will respect yours.

For those who may be unfamiliar with this concept, here is an excellent explanation.

Veils (Sensitive Subjects)

Sexual content. I prefer to avoid NSFW RP and generally do not engage in it; if I were to do so, however, I am comfortable with fade-to-black only. I'm not aroace, just trying to protect myself professionally.

Physical torture. Not a fan, but don't mind alluding to it having had occurred.

Memory loss/dementia. This is a trigger to some extent, but sometimes engaging in RP involving it can be cathartic for me.

Adult death. Off-screen is preferred for me.

Child abuse. This has to be strictly alluded to as I absolutely cannot handle RPing this at all, not even rescuing a child from being abused right in front of my character.

Backstories involving past toxic/abusive romantic relationships (Girasol has this in her past, so it's a veil and definitely workable, just handle with care pls).

Infertility (this may turn out to be a line, but I don't know that it is yet).

Abduction (this is not too strong of a veil but still needs to be handled with care).

Psychological manipulation/psychological abuse in backstories and possibly to other characters mentioned (not PCs)

Ableism experienced in character backstories.

Lines (Strictly Off-Limits)

Child death.

School or other mass shootings.

SA/non-con of any kind against anyone.

Active yandere (toxic/abusive) romantic relationships.

Elder abuse.

Psychotic breaks/people losing their minds.

Active psychological manipulation/abuse against either your PC or my own PC. (Backstory mentions are okay.)

Active ableism.

Lines and veils may be added or removed at my discretion. If you have questions or need clarification, just ask.
