Fanfiction is itself the same characters written and rewritten within a set time period over and over again to try and meet the perfect conclusion, only for every attempt to be reset by the forward march of the original work. The fulfilment that should end the loop is bulldozed by the alarm clock of the next chapter release denying everything you might have imagined taking place.
