I've got them | Wanda Maximoff
Tumblr media
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Summary: You offer to watch Billy and Tommy. When Wanda sees you interracting with her kids, she realises her feelings towards you might be more than just a simple crush.

“Come on Maximoff, you can't bail on Sunday brunch again.” Natasha shook her head, already knowing what her best friend was about to say. “You know I'd love nothing more than to join you guys, but I've got no one to watch the boys on Sundays since the weekend sitter moved away.” It was hard finding a sitter for the two energetic boys, especially when their mom was an Avenger.
You were walking into the room with mission debriefing rapports for the meeting the team was about to have and overheard the conversation. “I’m free Sunday, I don’t mind watching them.” Wanda’s eyes shoot up to you. “Oh that would be too much-” Natasha interrupts her. “That would be much appreciated.” With a nudge from her best friend Wanda agrees. “Alright then, I have to get these to Tony, but find me in my office later for the details?” You wave the stack of papers in the air. “Yeah, sure.” Wanda responds before you smile in her direction and are off again.
“Why did you do that?” Wanda shoves Natasha away from her. “Well, you clearly like y/n, and she’s met the boys before. See it as a way for them to bond, and then you can finally tell her how you feel.” Wanda’s cheeks turn a bright shade of red. “You really need to stop being my wing woman, and let me live my life.” Natasha sits down at the meeting table, as the rest of the team makes their way into the room. “Now what would be the fun in that?”
Once the meeting was done Wanda made her way over to the office wing of the Compound. Walking the familiar path to your office made her chest warm, Natasha’s words were true. Wanda had a crush on you for about three months now, never had she said those words out loud, but over time she would start spending more and more time with you. Did she need to be on this side of the Compound? No, not at all, but she grasped every opportunity to spend time with you. On the other hand, you were loving the frequent visits from Wanda, always reserving some time in your schedule to spend proper time with her when she would show up.
“Hi Wands, how was the meeting?” She shrugged her shoulders, “Nothing special. I do have these for you, though.” She hands you the file with meeting notes. It had been quite some time now that Wanda brought these to you, instead of Fury or Cap, you were more than happy to receive them from her though. “So, Sunday?” Wanda’s face turned serious quickly. “You really don’t have to watch the boys, it’s too much to ask anyways.” You smiled at her warmly, “First off, you didn’t ask, I offered. Second off, I would love to watch them, they seem like great kids.” You discuss further details until you both have to get back to work.
That’s how you found yourself on the doorstep of the Maximoff household on Sunday. Wanda let you in while the boys were running around the living room chasing each other. “Boy’s, y/n is here, can you please come say hi.” They came to a halt in front of you, “Hi.” They said simultaneously. “Hi kiddos, it's good to see you again.”
Wanda showed you around the house for a bit, so you knew where to find everything you might need. “Okay, and call me if anything is wrong, I can be back in 5 minutes.” You stopped her with your hands on her shoulders, “I’ve got them, Wands. Go have fun with your friends.” You didn’t miss the way her eyes widened slightly, and her breath hitched. “Alright, thank you again.” She turned to her kids, “Boy’s be nice, I’ll be back in around two hours. I love you both.” The boys both smiled her way and said, “We love you too.”
The boys were getting tired from running around and plopped down next to you on the couch. “Seems like you two are in need of food, what would you like?” They both wanted bagels with cream cheese, so you headed into the kitchen to get that ready for them as well as for yourself.
During lunch Billy and Tommy asked you all kinds of questions to get to know you better. Do you have superpowers? What do you do for the Avengers? How do you know our mom? You answered all of their questions happily. Tommy was up next with another question, “Who is your favourite Avenger?” You smiled, “That’s easy, your mom is my favourite Avenger.” They both shared a look and started giggling, “Why?” It didn’t take long for you to answer, “Well, your mom is really kind, and cares a lot about people. She always makes sure the rest of the Avengers are well taken care of. And of course her red wiggly woos are pretty cool.” The boys giggled at the last part of your reasoning. “Is your mom your favourite Avenger too?” Both boys nod their heads instantly, “Mom is the best.”
After the boys helped you clean up the lunch dishes all on their own, they seemed to have found their energy right back. At first they started chasing each other again, but you had an idea that wouldn’t end up with one of them getting hurt. You connected your phone with the speakers in the living room and started some music. The boys halted their running and looked your way at the first sound of music. “You’re not going to make me dance alone right?”
The three of you were jumping around to the music when Wanda came back home, none of you realised though. You were too busy singing along to the music and twirling around together. Wanda watched the scene from the side of the room, her smile wide, and her heart full. She realised in that moment, while you were interacting with her kids that her feelings for you far exceeded those of a simple crush, she was falling for you hard.
You saw Wanda from the corner of your eye and moved towards her. “Dance with us?” You ask her with your hand held out.She places her hand in yours and lets herself get dragged over to the makeshift dance floor. After twirling her towards the boys, the four of you jump around together. The happy smiles on her children’s faces meant the world to Wanda, and the smile on her face meant the world to you.
A slower song came on, and you took Billy’s hand to let him twirl you around, which isn’t very smooth with the height difference but it was the fun you were having that counted. “You should dance with mom.” He said, pushing you towards Wanda. You tap on Tommy’s shoulder. “Excuse me sir, do you mind if I steal the lady for a dance?” He happily hands over the dance to you. Behind your back the boys high five each other, with smug smiles on their faces.
You slow dance with Wanda all throughout the song. The soft hint of her perfume spread around you, as you spun her around. Once the song came to an end you separated again, but something felt different. Neither one of you could wipe the smile off of your face. That was until you checked the time, “This has been a lot of fun, but I should head home.” Both Billy and Tommy come running towards you and engulf you in a big hug, “Thank you for hanging out with us today.” You hug them back, “We had a lot of fun.” They step away again as you tell them that you had a great time as well.
Wanda walked you towards the door and stepped outside with you. “Again thank you so much for doing this. I don’t know how I can repay you.” You smiled at the idea that popped up in your head. “How about you let me take you out on a date?” A smile started playing on Wanda's lips, “I would love that, let’s do it.”
“Mooom.” Was heard from inside the house. “Duty calls, text me the details?” With a nod and a wave, you make your way back to your car. You weren’t able to wipe the smile off of your face the whole drive home, you were going to go on a date with Wanda.

Pay it no mind
Part VIII
In which reader confesses their feelings to Gojo, but it seems these are not returned (maybe?).
Warnings: reader is on the receiving end of rejection (kinda), and the fact that I'm obsessed with unrequited love is a warning itself.
Previous: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V, Part VI, Part VII
----------------------
“Don’t tell me you’re scared, Suguru.” Satoru smirked at his friend, who rolled his eyes in response.
“As if I would lose to you.” Suguru passed him the ball. “Give it your best.”
Satoru was aiming for the hoop when Shoko arrived at the basketball court just in time to see him miss the shot.
Geto laughed at him. “Yeah, I'm terrified,” he said sarcastically. “If you need support, maybe Shoko can join your team.”
“Heck no,” the girl said with a light smirk on her face as she sat down on the floor.
“It’s still a tie, isn’t it?” Gojo retrieved the ball and passed it back to Suguru. He then looked at Shoko. “Where is [name]?”
She lifted her gaze to meet Gojo’s easy smile. “I think they went out.”
Satoru knew you had plans, but he had figured you would come and check on him and Suguru before leaving. That was what you always did after they returned from a mission in which you had not been included, and he would do the same for you in the rare occasions you were not sent with him.
“With that guy from the coffee shop?” Gojo turned to Suguru’s voice. He had left the ball on the floor and joined Shoko.
Shoko nodded and another smaller, even softer smile started forming on her lips. “I think so.”
Geto had meant no malice with his question, but with the number of times you had escaped the school grounds to go to the city, and how often you had mentioned your new friend and talked about the many things you had in common, he had finally picked up on what all of Shoko’s teasing was about. To him, it looked like you were excited about your new friend, the same way kids in elementary school would be ecstatic every time they met someone who matched their likes and energy.
“Again, huh?” Satoru picked up the ball Suguru had abandoned, and threw it again. This time it went right through the hoop. He did not chase after it.
Unfortunately, Satoru was still much like a child as well, and he did not seem so happy about being detached of his position as your closest and most exciting friend. He was used to being the one you would go out with, laugh the most with and tell all the news about the things you liked, even if he did not share the same interests. Thinking about you doing that with someone else... it just did not feel right.
“I don’t get what's so great about him, though.” Suguru noticed how his friend's mood had changed by his tone.
Shoko saw the ball Satoru had thrown bounce away.
“They have a lot in common, and he is actually nice,” she commented.
Ieiri was not trying to be mean. In fact, she felt a bit bad for Gojo. Since Ikeda had entered your social circle, you had been spending a significant part of your free time with him. You would still spend time with her here and there, so it had not really been enough for her to miss you, but she realized that, for Gojo, who was used to being around you most of the time, that was probably not enough.
He's used to the whole feast, and you are feeding him crumbles.
“It’s good they are having fun,” Suguru supported.
“Yeah, I guess,” Satoru mumbled.
What Satoru had really wanted to say was that the four of you would always have the most fun together. You had other friends, he knew that, but you had never seemed so... captivated by any of them. Could it be you were not having fun with him anymore?
Suguru’s voice interrupted his thoughts. “Are they...dating?”
The question had been directed to Shoko, but it was Satoru the one who froze in place. That possibility had not crossed his mind.
"I mean, how do you know you like someone like... you know... romantically?" Your voice echoed in his head.
Had you been talking about that guy?
Ieiri shrugged. “It’s not my place to say. Wouldn’t Gojo know?” Her look in Satoru’s direction indicated she was passing the question to him.
“They are not,” the white-haired boy replied too quickly.
Maybe he had answered what he wanted to believe, but you would have told him if that were the case, right? Because you would not hide that from him, right?
***
“Satoru, do you remember Ikeda?”
You had held it in for too long. Once you started talking, the words burst out faster than you could think them through. You told him everything about how you had reencountered with Haruki; the shampoo, the store, him living abroad, Osaka, Tokyo, the book he had lent you, everything.
In a strange way, it felt as if you were coming clean about an infidelity, which did not make any sense, so you ignored that thought.
I didn't do anything wrong. Not telling him things makes me feel guilty, that's all.
But what was stranger was that Gojo listened to you in complete silence.
“...So that’s what I wanted to tell you.” You held your breath.
Satoru's expression was the perfect definition of poker face, and you felt like he was going to call all your bets off any second.
However, his reaction shocked you.
“I see... Well, then are you ready to go? The movie will start soon.” He stood up, still looking at you.
“What?” Did he even listen? “I mean, y-yes, I’m ready, but…” He was already marching away from you.
“Hm?” He tilted his head.
Was he really not going to say anything? You had said all of that aloud, had you not? You blinked once, twice.
“Nothing... Let’s go.” You followed after him.
***
Satoru had been rather quiet on your way to the theater, and even quieter during the movie, which, while being socially expected from the public during any type of performance, was unusual on him. And now, he was barely looking your way, fully devoted to his ice cream.
You held your own ice cream to your lips and kept an eye on the man sitting next to you.
He said nothing; yet why do I feel like we are not okay?
Satoru looked at you. “Not hungry?”
“Too much popcorn, I guess. Do you want it?” You offered him your ice cream and he took it with the same smile he would always have when accepting anything you had not eaten.
More silence followed.
Once he finished, he placed his hands on the table.
“What did you think about the movie?” you asked, itching for conversation. Quiet Satoru was a scary Satoru.
“It was good,” he replied without looking at you. His eyes were scanning the few other customers at the ice cream shop; a family ordering at the counter, two young girls at the next table, and a couple sitting farther away.
He wondered if you two also looked like a couple. Probably not now, he thought, we are not even talking much. If anything, we look like a couple having a silent fight.
He knew he was being stiff in comparison to what he was always like around you, but he could not help it. It was not only that Ikeda Haruki had returned unexpectedly or that you and he had been seeing each other over the past weeks. What truly disturbed Gojo was that you had not mentioned a word about it until now.
He did not want to think of what kind of relationship you had with Ikeda now, but he had thought you told each other pretty much everything. If you were ‘seeing’ someone, in whatever way it was, what did it mean that you had kept it from him for so long?
***
“Doesn’t he have to work or something?” Satoru was glaring at Ikeda, who was at another table and whose hand was resting too close to yours.
Your classmates had gone to pick you up to have dinner together, but when Shoko saw you sitting at a table for two with Haruki, she had pushed the boys to a different table.
“We are the only people here and we told the other waiter we would not order anything, so…”
“But shouldn’t we be leaving?”
From his angle, Suguru could peek at Satoru’s eyes narrowing behind his shades.
Suguru checked the time on his cellphone. “There is no rush, and it would be rude to interrupt them.” He looked at you then back at Gojo.
As time progressed, he had noticed Satoru growing more and more irritated whenever Haruki was mentioned, not to say the ready-to-kill look on his face at the sight of the poor guy.
If asked about it, Satoru would only say that he did not trust your 'friend', who had appeared from nowhere, who was a non-sorcerer, and who was obviously 'a player'. You were aware of Satoru’s opinions on Ikeda, but you had always dismissed his comments as friendly concern. Geto had thought so too at first, remembering how Satoru had also been a bit territorial when you and he first started hanging out. However, Satoru had eased on him sooner rather than later.
On the contrary, Gojo's attitude towards Ikeda was not improving; in fact, it was getting worse. Suguru was no longer sure there were no deeper feelings involved.
“Shoko?” Satoru looked at her, convinced that she would be reasonable and give him the green light to go there and take you home.
“No,” was all she said without even taking her eyes off her cellphone.
“He is going to talk their ears off,” Gojo murmured.
Shoko thought Gojo was no different. Yaga often scolded him for talking too much in class, and half of those times, it was you the one he had been talking to. However, Satoru would probably be offended if she dared compare him to Haruki out of all people.
“I don’t think they mind,” she only commented, because it seemed true. She had heard you praise Haruki’s sense of humor and conversation a handful of times. He was lively and always had something nice to say, or so was your opinion.
The three of them saw you get up and rush to them. “His break is over. Sorry I made you wait.”
“It’s fine." Suguru smiled and everyone stood up. "Satoru is in a bit of a hurry to get that pizza, though.”
“Let’s go,” Satoru said, casually wrapping an arm around your shoulders as he looked in Haruki’s direction once more.
One day, after you returned to the dorms, Satoru had been waiting for you, saying he wanted to borrow something, and he also took the opportunity to ask if you were dating ‘the flirty waiter guy’.
“Don’t call him that," you had told him. "And no, it’s not like that. We are just friends.”
If he has such pure intentions as [name] believes, he won’t mind.
But when Gojo looked at him, Haruki was no longer wearing that sweet smile that he despised so much. Their eyes locked.
You turned your head to wave goodbye to Ikeda once more and Satoru saw the boy's defying expression swiftly transform into that of the innocent friend you praised so much.
I knew it.
Satoru had never wanted to pull you away from someone faster.
***
Yeah, I remember him all too well.
Satoru was laying on his bed in the comfort of his home. After your little outing to the movies and the ice cream shop, he had walked you home but made no excuse to stay at your place.
He had felt bad for cutting all your conversation attempts short, but he had not been himself; just as he had not meant to completely ignore everything you said about Haruki at your home, but he had, and he understood he made you both uncomfortable in the process.
Of course that threw you off. You had spoken for a while, briefing him on all the events that had taken place in the last weeks concerning the guy that was back in your life, as if you were reporting the details of a mission to Yaga, and Satoru had just dismissed it as if you had told him you had seen a bird outside.
He had listened to every word you said, but...
“You don’t get to decide who I hang out with,” you had told him a long time ago.
If he voiced his thoughts, would that open a crack between you two again?
He tossed and turned all night. Your bed was definitely more comfortable.

Hey Pinkie,
Could you give me the basic gist of the NTT Team Dynamics, like the different relationships within the team?
Sorry if i'm bombarding you with these asks.
Oh, not at all! I realise I mainly covered individual characters in my previous post, mainly to cut down on time, so I’m happy to flesh things out a bit more! (I’m happy any time someone asks about my work, really 😊)
Okay, so I briefly mentioned Tim and Steph’s relationship, and there’s a lengthier post I did a while back about them, so I’ll link that at the bottom of this post.
Then there’s Tim and Conner. This one’s fun, because sometimes they get along great—Tim has a rebellious side to him, and kind of a skater boy thing going on—but he was also raised by very conservative parents and has Batman for a mentor, and he’s smart enough to know that doing something stupid will lead to stupid consequences, so sometimes (a lot of times) he winds up becoming the Mom™️ of the group. And when that happens, he and Conner come into conflict. Thing is, Conner’s smart in his own ways too, so when he gets into trouble, he’s really good at getting out of trouble, and… he knows how to spin his ideas to convince Tim to go along with them. Basically, it’s like a constant game of “join the dark side, Anakin… we have cookies!” And Steph is usually the one holding the cookies. Then Tim comes to his senses, or Batman shows up, and suddenly he’s all “of course, I—a responsible leader of this team—would never even consider doing the immature thing—cough cough!” But they become good friends. They poke fun at one another a lot, throwing zingers, and they enjoy talking when they get the chance. They just find it easy to vibe with one another.
Unlike…
Conner and Cassie! Now, this is all based off of one comic panel, but I just latched onto this idea like a barnacle to the hull of a crusty ship. Cassie did initially have a crush on Conner when they first met, but that was short-lived because she quickly discovered how annoying Conner can be sometimes. He’s like that little brother who just shows up and—for no reason—starts poking you, flipping the light switch, making noises, and generally just being a pain. Cassie was raised alone with her mother, traveling a bunch, meeting kids from a lot of other cultures, so she knows how to get along with a lot of very different people… she’s still never met someone as annoying as Conner. Plus, her moral compass points toward: being kind to people, being respectful, trying NOT to be annoying. You can see how Conner might just be pushing her buttons in a very specific way when he starts acting a little too much like Lex, and gets carried away. They’re like a cat and a dog. Chasing each other. Screaming at each other. Tim has to intervene. Sigh. But when it counts, of course they’ll always be there for one another… just for no longer than 30 seconds…
Cassie and the other two girls. Now, Cass isn’t particularly older than them by much, but it’s mostly because of her knowledge and confidence mixed with her moral compass that she (generally) is kind of looked at like the leader of the three. But only so much. Again, they’re all about the same age, so it doesn’t feel like she’s the “mom” it’s more like they’re sisters, and she’s the oldest sister… so naturally, Steph intentionally doesn’t listen sometimes. She believes that she’s got enough street smarts of her own (plus Batman’s training) that she and Cassie are on equal footing, which can sometimes lead to arguments, because Cassie feels like her world traveling and being mentored by Wonder Woman gives her more experience than Steph, so… you could say there’s some tension there… Both of them have more experience on Earth than M’gann, so she tends to look up to both of them, and often turns to them for advice. Steph loves playing “mentor” but sometimes Cassie feels like she’s giving the wrong advice (her father being a supervillain doesn’t help Cassie’s opinion, but over the course of the show, we find out that a lot of the members have villainous parents, so it becomes a moot point eventually). Now, it’s not as though Cassie enjoys being in this position of contention. She can be plenty impulsive and adventurous and is a bit of a dork, but it’s funny the way hanging out with certain people can bring out a part of you that you didn’t even know you had. Steph is such a firecracker that it’s impossible for someone not to feel a little apprehensive about what she does and says, but after the girls get to know one another better, their relationship turns from sort of a competition, to more like “partners in crime” almost. Cassie remains the moooore level headed of the two, but yeah… they can get up to trouble if left unsupervised. But with M’gann, Cassie is very sympathetic. She’s traveled, she’s felt like an alien before, she’s been the only white girl in a room before, she gets how M’gann must be feeling. (In truth, she doesn’t quite fully grasp the specifics of her situation, but to be fair, M’gann didn’t tell everyone the specifics up front, so…) Anyway, M’gann appreciates how thoughtful Cassie can be, and often looks to her for advice, especially when it comes to…
Conner and M’gann! Alright, don’t go running for the hills just yet. I know that the Young Justice cartoon scared a lot of us, but trust me when I say that these two characters are not the same ones from that show. Yes, M’gann does see Conner as fitting into the “ideal human boyfriend” category that she’s seen in all those Earth TV shows, but that image usually comes crashing down the minute Conner opens his mouth. Now, they both kinda liked the look of each other the moment they met, but keep in mind, Conner has only actually been alive for about a year or so. Maybe a year and a half—two tops. So, he’s never been in love before. It was never taught to him. He’s just a big ball of raging hormones with no guidance! yaaaaaay… Don’t worry, nothing bad happens, but imagine a six-year-old’s approach to girls… girls he likes… that more or less sums up how Conner first approached things. Very blunt, very innocent, not knowing what’s considered “too forward” or “rude” so he makes a lot of critical errors at first, which he doesn’t realise are errors until he talks to the other guys. Overall, though, his confidence levels remain relatively high, so he plans on adjusting his approach and going in for round two. M’gann feels awkward about the whole situation, like “is this how Earth boys actually are in real life? Is this just a Kryptonian thing? Am I missing something?” She’s overanalysing the situation something awful, and she wonders if it feels wrong because of something she’s doing, or not doing, and she talks to the other girls about it… When Conner actually gets it through his head how to talk to girls, that’s when their relationship starts. He can be very rough and playful, like a big golden retriever, but he’s learned that he needs to be careful with someone like M’gann, who’s more of a sweet little bunny who gets really excited about things, like “Earth Cooking” and “Vending Machines.” The two of them don’t always understand Earth things, or customs, but they’re relieved that the other doesn’t, so they kind of come up with their own private jokes, and it’s really sweet. The great difference between the two is that: Conner is super confident a lot of the time, especially about who he is and where he’s going, but M’gann is exactly the opposite. Over time, he helps her uncover the things that matter most to her, and therefore helps her understand what sort of person she is and who she wants to become.
Conner and Kaldur. Naturally, Kaldur didn’t get close to anyone at first, but after that whole adventure… he and Conner have a very specific relationship. Ever see a cub or a kitten or a puppy trying to play with their mother’s ear or tail or something, but the mom’s just sitting there, looking tired? That’s kinda it. Kaldur finds Conner’s antics amusing, up until they become irresponsible, at which point he shifts into Mom Mode.™️ He and Tim kinda share the title of “Team Mom.” Or maybe one of them’s more like “Team Dad?” You decide. (If everyone starts acting irresponsibly, Kaldur is usually the last adult standing.) Point is, Kaldur is still a battle hardened warrior, and even though he’s learning how to be more expressive, he still thinks Conner can be a bit of a drama queen, and a little too… much… at times. They’re almost a little like Jack O’Niell and Teal’c from Stargate SG-1, if anyone’s seen. But they’re cool, Kaldur doesn’t ever get annoyed with Conner, he simply handles Conner.
In general, Kaldur still has a hard time getting really, really close with the others, mainly just having serious heart-to-hearts or observing their hobbies and interests, but if there was one person on the team I would say he’s close with, it’s Tim. Tim does his best to check in with him and be there for him, as the team’s leader, and they tend to have a lot of very long, very deep conversations. They often go back and forth about battle strategy, they share the title of “Team Mom” a lot, being the two most responsible members, they’re both smart, and they’re both depressed a lot.
(Lol, just had a thought. Kaldur and Steph = Tigress and Po from Kung Fu Panda 2. *Kaldur catches Steph and flips her back around as if she were made of paper* Steph: “Did you guys see that? It’s called being awesome.”)
Now, Steph is the most extroverted in the group. She’s the one who always breaks the ice, who has no problem jumping straight into the deep end, and is the most comfortable chillin’ with the guys. Cassie never really did the whole “hanging with the guys” thing growing up, it was mostly “all the neighbourhood kids or nothing,” so, like, sort of adjacent, but not quite the same thing. Then M’gann never really hung out with guys ever, so Steph is kinda alone on that one. She and Conner are a dangerous duo. They require at least two babysitters. Then, once Bart comes along (post memory wipe, that is) their duo of chaos becomes a trio. NEVER LEAVE THESE THREE ALONE EVER. Steph tries to get close to Kaldur, and tries to introduce him to certain fun things, but for a long while she just can’t understand why they aren’t clicking, and why he and Tim do it so easily. Then, she realises that what Kaldur values is genuine conversation and connection, which is harder for her, but they wind up sharing a few moments together that help them bond a bit more.
Now Bart. I saved him for last because it’s a little confusing having to talk about two different versions of him. Pre-memory wipe, Bart is afraid, anxious, and thinks like a little kid. Being trapped in a computer for a year tends to stunt you like that. So when he first arrives, after the NTT’s initial suspicion subsides, they kinda adopt him. He’s never had his own bedroom, or owned normal civilian clothes, or eaten anything besides rations, (bacon was an eye opener), so the team can’t help but feel bad for him, though Conner specifically tends to feel like he’s a little bit like dead weight at times during their journey through time, because he’s too afraid to actually do anything for much of it. Put simply, the main form of bonding that happens with them all on that adventure is: trauma bonding. But then, there’s post-memory wipe Bart. After the wipe, his personality changed. He still naturally feels disquieted and repelled by tech, but beyond that, he’s more cheerful, funny, always moving too fast for his own good, forgetful, but with a bit of an attitude when he feels like it. Especially when people give him “the look.” Something he noticed after the memory wipe. People who knew him before sometimes look at him like he’s a wounded puppy, and he hates it. This is what eventually leads him to want to regain his memories, but that’s a story for another time. Like mentioned earlier, he gets along a little too well with Conner and Stephanie—he can drive Tim up a wall with how much he doesn’t sit still, or listen, or just… do the thing he asked him to do twenty minutes ago! But Bart’s a good kid, Tim can’t stay frustrated with him forever. Kaldur has another child to reign in. Cassie takes on an almost “big sister” role for him, and M’gann loves testing out new Earth recipes on him, because he’ll eat anything.
Alright, I think that’s everyone. Please don’t hesitate to ask more questions! Always love getting to share!

It’s no surprise that George finds them in the backyard.
Summer is finally in full swing in the UK, and he knows Y/N likes to have Remi out in the fresh air as much as possible. The almost two year old has them on their toes, and spending the day out in the garden, running through the grass seems to be the only way to ensure Remi falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow. And George really does mean an actual pillow, since they recently upgraded the crib in her room to a toddler bed.
He has no idea where the time has gone.
He had hoped to sneak up on them, considering the fact that it’s the middle of the day on Tuesday and he’s supposed to be at work. But when he steps out onto the back porch he isn’t met with the sight of Y/N and Remi kicking a ball back and forth or blowing bubbles. No, the scene he walks in on is much more precious.
Y/N is laying in the hammock, one foot on the ground to slowly rock it back and forth while Remi lays on top of her chest, fast asleep. They’ve got matching white sundresses on, a gift for Mother’s Day from Molly. He figures Y/N is asleep too, but when the deck stairs creak under his weight her eyes open and a bright grin takes over her face.
“George,” she breathes, voice quiet so as to not wake their toddler. “You’re home early.”
“I missed my girls and I’ve been jealous of all the fun you two have been having together,” George explains as he approaches. “Besides, Fred has been having so much fun torturing the interns he won’t even notice that I’m gone.”
Y/N giggles and pats the empty netting beside her. “Here, come join us.” When George gives Remi a weary glance, she waves away his concerns. “She’s out cold and probably will be for another hour, Sandra next door’s St. Bernard chased her around the yard for over an hour this morning.”
George rounds the hammock, carefully easing himself down next to the girls so he doesn’t flip them. He lays down on his side facing Y/N, propping his head up with one hand while the other rests on Remi’s bum, just below where Y/N’s own hand is. He leans in and kisses his daughter’s messy curls, before placing one on his girlfriend’s temple.
He can’t believe that it’s been almost eighteen months since that day at the brownstone, when he opened up his front door to meet his new nanny only to fall head over heels in love with her instead. It’s hard to believe how much has changed in such a short time.
For starters he sold that stupid brownstone that he loved so much. As Remi got older it was clear his bachelor pad was not easily converted into a family home, and the pathetic stretch of grass he called a back yard was insufficient for his sweet summer child who loved running barefoot in the grass. Plus with Y/N in their lives, the possibility of someday growing their family was always in the back of George’s mind and a London townhome was barely big enough for the three of them.
So with a great return on his investment and a little dipping into his savings, George was able to buy a large family home in one of the uppity neighborhoods on the outskirts of London. Sure his commute every day is hell, but they’ve got a backyard big enough for them to add a dog or two, the best schools in the country are just a short walk away, and there’s plenty of room in case they decide to add to their family one day.
Which is something George hopes happens soon, one of the biggest changes that has happened since Y/N came into their lives. Before Remi George had a hard time imagining himself settling down, getting married and having some kids, and whenever he did it was far into the future by at least ten years. Once Remi was dropped into his lap that outlook had changed, but he always figured it would be just him and his daughter, something he was totally okay with.
Falling in love with Y/N totally changed all of those plans.
He didn’t want a life that was just him and Remi. He wanted one that included Y/N and the love and light she brings with her, with as many kids as she wants to give him. And he didn’t want that life years from now anymore, he wanted it as soon as she would allow him to stick a ring on her finger.
Hence the diamond ring tucked away in the safe at work. George doesn’t think she’s quite there yet, but as soon as she is he’ll be down on one knee and making her his wife.
But by far the biggest change that’s happened is the fact that he no longer has a nanny. Because now Y/N is a stay at home mum. So far that change has certainly been the most difficult, and it’s all thanks to the stubborn girl laying next to him.
Once their relationship became romantic George knew Y/N could no longer be his nanny. Simply for the fact that it felt wrong to hand her a paycheck on Friday morning only to have her underneath him in bed that night. Besides, once that line had been crossed they both considered Remi to be their daughter, not just George’s and he certainly wouldn’t pay his wife or the mother of his child to take care of them.
So he had proposed two possible paths to Y/N.
The first being that he would stop paying her to watch Remi, and in turn George would take over all financial responsibility in their home. His money would become their money, and George would take care of all of their bills while she stayed at home and took care of the house and Remi.
Y/N had flat out told him no. Which aggravated him and made him fall even more in love with her. But George had understood her response once she had explained that of course she considers Remi her daughter, the fact of the matter is she really isn’t Remi’s mum, and she’d feel weird taking on a role without having felt like she really earned it. Which George thought was total bullshit, he understood her point of view, but he thought it was bullshit.
Which led him to propose the second path. Y/N would no longer be Remi’s nanny, giving her the ability to seek a new, day time position with another family. She of course would still live at home with them, and George would find a new nanny to look after Remi during the day while they were both at work.
He figured that would be the perfect solution. Y/N would still be making her own money while getting to be with him and Remi, Remi would have still have that one on one care George wanted for her and he no longer had to pay his girlfriend to hang out with their kid.
Except her response to this proposition was the same as the first. Hell no.
Which had pissed George off to no end. He was trying to find a solution that would make their family work and keep all of them happy, and his sweet, stubborn girl shot him down. Twice. His anger had abated when during one of their arguments Y/N explained that the thought of another woman being in their home taking care of their daughter made her absolutely sick to her stomach. Because how the fuck could George be mad at her for being jealous at the thought of someone else being with Remi.
So for months George kept signing Y/N’s paychecks and they kept fighting about how best to handle things moving forward. And George uses the term fighting very loosely, considering the fact it was more him trying to convince Y/N to let him take care of her and her saying no.
It wasn’t until they moved into the new house, and their neighbor Sandra slapped George across the face and yelled about him being a dirty cheater, did they finally come to an agreement.
Because when Y/N took Remi to the park down the road she’d introduced herself as Remi’s nanny to the neighborhood moms and nannies that were there with their kids. Which normally wouldn’t have been a problem, except for the fact that they started to notice that when Remi called her Mama she never corrected her, and on the weekends it was always George and “the nanny” taking Remi to the park together and they always seemed to be so close.
So when Sandra saw them kiss in the driveway before George went off to work it seemed to confirm the neighborhood gossip that had been going around for weeks: George Weasley was screwing his nanny and was going to replace Remi’s biological mother with her.
Which explains why Sandra, a woman George had barely spoken to at that point, assaulted and confronted him on his own property. Thankfully Y/N had been able to calm Sandra down, and after awkwardly explaining to her that Y/N was both Remi’s nanny and George’s girlfriend and that there was no other woman involved, the rumor mill dried up and everything went back to normal.
But Y/N felt so terrible that she agreed to quit her job as Remi’s nanny, with the stipulation that George let her work a job that still allowed her to be home with their little girl during the day. So now she works for a few families in the neighborhood as a nanny part time, that way whether she’s working or not Y/N is still Remi’s full time caretaker and she can contribute to the house with her own money.
“Whatcha thinking about?” YN murmurs after they’ve been sitting in silence for a bit.
“You, Remi, life,” George answers simply.
“I can’t believe she’s almost two,” Y/N says wistfully, slowly rubbing Remi’s back. “I feel like just yesterday she was learning to crawl and asking for more juice by throwing her empty sippy cup at me,” she pauses as they both laugh. “Now she runs circles around me and says please and thank you.”
“It’s hard to believe that she used to be that tiny, fragile baby I found on my doorstep.”
Y/N stiffens next to him, just like she always does whenever Remi’s biological mother or how Remi came to be in George’s life is mentioned. She’s never even met the woman, but Y/N feels nothing but hatred towards her purely because of how carelessly she abandoned her little girl. There’s also a little jealousy there too, because as Remi gets older it is apparent that looks wise, she takes after the woman who provided the other half of her DNA, giving Remi a connection to her that Y/N will never have. She will love Remi with her whole heart until the moment she takes her last breath, but she will never be the woman that gave her life.
“Even though I hate the way she came into your life,” Y/N starts, tilting her head back so she can look up at George. “I’m really fucking glad she did.”
“Me too, baby,” George agrees, leaning in to kiss Y/N softly. “Me too.”
-
“What are the ethical and legal implications for fucking an intern?” Fred asks suddenly, making all of the men groan. “Hypothetically, of course.”
Every month the Weasley brothers get together for a guys night. They play poker, drink beer and just catch up with each other. They’re at Bill’s tonight, in a shed out in the garden that he converted into a man cave. It’s a full house tonight, with George, Fred, Ron, Bill, Charlie and Ginny’s fiancé Harry all in attendance, and all of them are looking at Fred with disappointment.
“Fred, you shouldn’t have fucked an intern,” Bill scolds, forever the responsible eldest brother.
“Hey, I never said I did. I said hypothetically speaking,” Fred points out. “And I’m a little hurt by all of the judgment boys. Georgie over here fucked his employee and all of you congratulated him. Not fair.”
George rolls his eyes, taking a sip from his beer. “First of all, fuck face, if you talk about my future wife like that ever again I’ll knock you on your ass. Second of all, what happened with Y/N and I is completely different than whatever you plan on doing with one of our interns.”
“Oh please brother, enlighten me,” Fred snaps.
“Well for one I’m not nearly a decade older than her,” George responds, narrowing his eyes as he glares at his brother. “Not to mention the second things turned romantic I tried to fire her, not my fault Y/N is the most stubborn woman on the planet. Any intern you hump and dump will still be our employee for at least two more months. And fraternization in that manner can certainly be construed as sexual harassment, which could end in a horrible, very public lawsuit that will ruin the company we worked so hard to build. Me kissing Y/N ended in a very happy, healthy, romantic relationship. We are not the same.”
Fred is silent for a few moments, and George is almost certain he’s gotten through to his twin. Until the other man opens his mouth.
“So what you’re saying is I should wait until August, once their internship has ended, to fuck them?”
“I need another fucking drink,” George grumbles, pushing away from the table before he heads towards the little bar Bill has set up in the corner. He drowns out the conversation Ron has started, since it’s mainly focused on which intern Fred has his eye on, so he’s surprised when Bill slides up next to him.
“Hey. I’ve got that number you asked Fleur for,” Bill murmurs, holding out a piece of paper for George to take.
He gives it a quick glance, noting it’s nothing but a phone number, no name or identifying information, before he slips it into his pocket. “Thanks man, I appreciate it.” Both the number Bill has given him and his discretion in how he chose to give it to him.
Because George isn’t one hundred percent certain what he’s doing is legal, and the less people that know about it the better.
It feels kind of silly, scolding Fred about ethics and legal ramifications when George finds himself in a similar position, but his motivation has nothing to do with getting his dick wet, so he feels like his pursuit is at least a little justified.
Six months ago he had his lawyer start looking into what’s legally required for Y/N to be able to adopt Remi once they get married. He knows it kills her that the only claim she has to Remi is the one in her heart and George wants to make sure that she has the legal rights to their daughter as well.
Unfortunately for George, the answer was far from simple. Because when Emily, Remi’s biological mother, dropped her on his doorstep there was no documentation that she was officially terminating her rights. Meaning that even though George has been her sole legal guardian for nearly 24 months at any moment in time Emily can reappear, demand custody and have it granted. It also means that Y/N can’t legally become Remi’s mother.
His lawyer had spent a few months trying to dig up any information, in the hopes that Emily had filed the paperwork to terminate her rights and they just didn’t know about it. When that search turned up empty their focus pivoted, and George had his attorney find out how to contact Emily, hoping that they could get her to agree to meet and come in to sign her rights away.
But so far every attempt has failed. Either the numbers his lawyer finds are out of service or no one returns their call. Places of employment claim to have no employees under that name and every address is outdated. It’s been months since their search began and they still have nothing.
Luckily for George his sister-in-law knows some interesting people. He doesn’t want or need to know why Fleur has the number for a private investigator who has a knack for hacking, he’s just thankful that she does.
Because there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his family.
But the blurred lines between right and wrong keep him from telling Y/N about the information Bill passed along to him when she asks him how boy’s night went as he slips into bed beside her that night. That way if this all ends up blowing up in his face George will be the only one hurt in the process.
At least he hopes.
-
The little family Y/N pulled together started on an unsuspecting Monday morning.
So it makes sense that it all starts to fall apart on one too.
-
“What did you forget this time?” Y/N teases as she pulls open the front door. George only left for work a few minutes ago, and after a weekend at home with their family it’s pretty typical for him to get on the road only to have to turn around to retrieve something he forgot. But the smile fades from her face when she realizes George isn’t the one who rang the bell, but a beautiful brunette woman.
A beautiful brunette woman who has soft curls falling down her back and a face shape that she would recognize anywhere considering the fact that she presses a kiss to that same arched brow every single night.
Nope, Remi’s Father is not standing on the porch - her Mother is.
The woman, Emily, smiles at Y/N either oblivious to the distress on her face or she simply does not care enough to react to it. “Is George home?”
“N-no,” Y/N stutters out, too stunned to say anything else. “He’s at work.”
Emily shakes her head, looking Y/N up and down in a way that’s anything but friendly. “Ah, you must be the nanny then.”
The way she says nanny creates a pit in Y/N’s stomach, and it takes all of her strength not to flinch. Because how fucking dare this woman who abandoned her child show up years later and be anything but thankful and appreciative for the woman who picked up her slack.
“Is there something I can help you with, Emily?” she asks after taking a moment to compose herself.
Because as much as she wants to give this woman a piece of her mind, Remi is just in the other room, and she has to keep her head on straight to make sure no harm comes to her daughter. No matter what this horrid woman thinks of Y/N, Remi is hers, and she’d do anything to keep that little girl safe.
If Emily is surprised to be recognized it doesn’t show on her face. She pulls a card out of her pocket, offering it to Y/N. “No, George will know why I was here. Have him give me a call.”
Y/N isn’t in control of her body as she reaches a shaky hand out and takes the proffered card, her mind numb. She watches as Emily turns on her heel and walks away without a care in the world. Like she didn’t just blow up Y/N’s life.
Because why the hell would George know why Emily came by the house?
And why the fuck doesn’t she?
-
George knows something is wrong the second he walks through the door that night.
Usually the house is filled with noise, Y/N almost always has music playing in the background as she cooks dinner and the sounds of her and Remi laughing echoes off the walls. But tonight when he swings the door open, his mouth opening to shout a greeting he’s met with dead silence.
He’s immediately on edge, worried something has happened to his girls.
“Y/N?” he calls out, voice frantic. “Where are you?”
He searches the bottom floor, switching between calling out for Y/N and Remi, his anxiety heightening each time he goes unanswered. His palms are sweating and he feels like he’s on the verge of a panic attack when he heads upstairs, his body moving without really being aware of where it’s going.
All George knows is that something is wrong and he needs to find Y/N and Remi before he loses his mind.
Finally he swings open Remi’s bedroom door and he takes his first deep breath in what feels like hours. Because Y/N is standing there, her back to the door as she gazes out the window. Her shoulders stiffen, so George knows she’s aware of his presence, but she doesn’t turn when he murmurs her name. It’s then that he finally notices a lack of their daughter, and the packed duffle bag sitting on the floor next to Y/N.
“Where’s Remi?”
“At Bill and Fleur’s,” Y/N answers, her voice flat as she still refuses to look at George.
Her lack of emotion and just general shitty behavior does nothing but piss George off, which is why his words come out sharper than he intends them to. “Y/N what the fuck is going on?”
She finally turns to look at George then, and her appearance has him stifling a gasp. While no tears fall from her eyes, they’re rimmed with red and slightly puffy - a tell-tale sign that she’s spent a good chunk of the day crying. Her body is stiff, her arms crossed like she needs to protect herself. And her eyes, those eyes that George loves so much, are filled with one emotion: betrayal.
“Why don’t you tell me?”
That isn’t what George expected her to say, and he feels a little lame that he doesn’t immediately have a response.
“Maybe you can start by telling me why the fuck, Emily showed up at our house today looking for you, and when I said you weren’t home she just left her number, claiming that you would know exactly why she was here.”
Oh fuck.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
George’s stomach is in knots and he feels like he’s going to throw up. He should have told Y/N that he was looking for Emily, he feels like such an idiot for keeping that from her. His lawyer has called several of her friends and family members to try and get a hold of her, of course one of them was sure to tell Emily George was looking for her. So it really isn’t a surprise that she decided to track him down instead.
Well at least, not a surprise to him. And why should Y/N have been expecting Emily to show up at their door after no contact for almost two years? He really, really fucked up.
“Baby, wait, it’s not what it looks like,” George starts to explain, taking a step towards her.
But Y/N takes a step back, holding up her hand to cut him off. “Really? Because it looks like you went behind my back and sought out the biological mother of the child you claim to be ours, after she abandoned her on a front porch no less.”
Fuck, it sounds even worse when she puts it like that.
“Please, just let me explain,” George pleads.
But Y/N just shakes her head. “The time for you to explain would have been before any of this shit started.” She picks her bag up and tears start to well in her eyes. “I need a second George, to think about things. To think about what Emily being back around means for me and us and this family. Fleur and Bill are going to keep Remi for tonight, and Sandra agreed to watch her while you’re at work for the next few days.”
As she walks out of the room Y/N pauses next to George. “Emily’s number is on the counter in the kitchen. You better have a damn good reason for needing it.”
George stands there alone in the middle of Remi’s bedroom until he hears the front door click shut behind Y/N. It’s only when he’s sure he’s alone does he allow himself to break down: tears rolling down his cheeks as he falls to his knees.
He thought keeping this secret was going to ensure Y/N felt secure in their family, but now it looks like he may have lost her for good.
-
Y/N plasters a fake smile on her face, not needing all of their friends and family to know how torn up her insides are. Because of course, the weekend after George’s betrayal is Remi’s second birthday, and despite the fact that they’re still not speaking and she’s still not sure where her place in their family is anymore Y/N will always show up for Remi. She’s already had one mother walk out, and Y/N is not about to be another. Emily’s reappearance be damned Y/N loves that little girl, and she’ll happily suffer in silence if it keeps a smile on her daughter’s face.
Despite George’s best efforts, she’s managed to stay away from him so far. Of course they need to have a conversation about what happened, but the middle of their backyard while celebrating their daughter’s birthday is not the time or the place. So she’s kept close to Remi, reveling in the feel of holding her tiny hand as the toddler dragged her around the yard to all of the different activities they have set up.
She’s standing outside the bounce house, watching Remi tumble around with her friends and her Uncle Fred, chatting with one of the Mum’s when she feels his presence behind her. The warmth of his body seeps into her skin, and Y/N’s eyes flutter shut as the scent of his cologne washes over her. Despite all of her hurt and her anger this week without George has been torture, and she’s afraid to admit how good it feels to be near him again.
“Hi,” he greets, leaning in to murmur in her ear. “I’m really fucking happy to see you. I was afraid you weren’t going to show up.”
The other Mum gives her a cheeky wink before wandering off, clearly thinking Y/N and George are reconnecting during a quiet moment of a hectic day. Her stomach drops, both in fear and excitement.
“It’s our daughter’s birthday, George,” Y/N responds once she’s composed herself, eyes reopening as she takes a deep breath. “If you think I’d miss it just because I’m pissed at you, you don’t know anything about me. I’m not Emily.”
Regret slaps George in the face, and he kicks himself for being so stupid. He hasn’t been able to think straight since Monday night, when he came home and his whole world fell apart. Life without Y/N is bleak, and if it weren’t for the little girl giggling wildly as she has fun with her friends, George is sure he would have given up by now.
“I’m sorry, I’m such a fucking idiot,” he apologizes, scrubbing a hand over his face. “Remi hasn’t been sleeping at night because she misses you and I haven’t been sleeping at night because I miss you and I feel so fucking terrible about everything and I can barely breathe let alone think straight.”
He pauses, taking a second to get his shit together.
“Of course I knew you would show up today, your love for Remi has always come first. That’s what I love most about you, how fiercely you love the people you care about.”
Y/N simply nods, to over run with emotion to trust her voice to come out clear and even. Knowing that Remi has been struggling during this time absolutely kills her, and she hates that she has brought her even an ounce of pain. But at least she’s young, and if this really is it for this relationship, Remi will never remember Y/N and the love and loss her brief stint in her  life caused.
That’s a thought Y/N has had many times over this past week, and it’s just as heart wrenching to think about as it was the first time. Remi will never remember Y/N, but she’ll spend the rest of her life loving and missing that little girl.
“Can we talk tonight?” George pleads. “I want to explain everything to you, like I should have done on Monday. Or rather even before that night. And if you still want to walk away from this relationship after that I will let you go. But please know that you will always be a part of Remi’s life, whether you and I are together or not. Remi may have come from Emily, but you are her Mother and you always will be.”
George walks away then, and Y/N furiously wipes at the tears leaking down her cheeks before anyone has the chance to notice.
-
Y/N decides to hear George out.
Because even though her heart is hurting and she feels like her trust has been broken, just being in his presence today has made her feel the most normal she has all week. Being by his side while they held Remi and everyone gathered around to sing her happy birthday just felt right, like she was just where she was supposed to be. There is no doubt in her mind that George is the love of her life, and Y/N knows deep down that she’ll always regret not fighting for their relationship. And when George had assured her that no matter their relationship status Y/N would always be in Remi’s life, she figured she had nothing to lose by sitting down and hearing George’s side of things.
Plus, sticking around until the last partygoers made their way out means she gets to put Remi to bed for the first time in almost a week.
Which is where she is now, laying on her side in Remi’s bed with the little girl snuggled up against her. They’ve just finished reading her favorite book ‘I love you to the moon and back’ and now Y/N is slowly stroking her soft curls as she watches Remi’s eyes flutter open and closed and she fights off sleep.
“Mama miss me?” Remi’s sweet voice mumbles, and it makes Y/N’s heart break.
She leans in, pressing her lips against Remi’s forehead. “Mama missed you so much, baby.”
“Miss Mama,” Remi agrees, her lips smacking together as she tries to stay awake. “Love you Mama.”
“I love you too, Rem-Dog. More than you’ll ever know,” Y/N promises. That reassurance must make Remi feel safe enough to fall asleep, and Y/N watches as her eyes finally flutter closed and once her daughter’s breaths have evened out she presses one more kiss to Remi’s forehead before extracting herself from the bed.
“Goodnight, baby,” she murmurs, taking a second to tuck the covers tightly over Remi’s body. She heads towards the door, taking one more look over her shoulder before she closes it behind her. Taking a deep breath Y/N steals herself, preparing for whatever conversation is awaiting her downstairs.
George nearly jumps out of his seat when Y/N comes down the stairs, furiously wiping the sweat from his palms on his trousers. He gestures towards the seat across from him, giving her a small smile. “Sit, please.”
Once she’s seated across from him George sits down too, awkwardly fidgeting in his chair. He crosses and uncrosses his legs several times, his hands wringing together as he tries to figure out where to start.
“Thank you for staying and agreeing to hear me out.”
Y/N gives a curt nod. “I’m not making any promises here, George. But I at least owe it to myself and our family to sit here and listen to what you have to say.”
She watches as George grabs a thick manilla envelope off the chair next to him, waiting with bated breath as he slides a document out of it. He places it on the table, slowly sliding it towards her so that she can see what it is.
Y/N takes a moment to read, her eyes scanning the words over and over again so there’s no doubt in her mind what she’s looking at. As the information soaks in, tears start to form in the corners of her eyes, and she presses a hand to her trembling lips.
“George these are,” she starts, eyes finally flicking up to meet him.
“Adoption papers,” George confirms with a nod. “I told you earlier that no matter what happens between us you’ll always be Remi’s Mum, so I figured this would be a good place to start. That way once this conversation is done you can be free to feel however you want to feel, and not make a decision based on your love for Remi. I love you, Y/N, and I want us to be a family. But I understand that you might not feel that way anymore. So all you have to do is sign on the places that are marked, I already did, file these with the court and Remi will legally be yours too.”
“George, I,” Y/N stumbles, unable to find the words. This is the last thing she imagined George would say to her. And she knows now that whatever awful things she thought George was doing behind her back were nothing more than her insecurities speaking out.
When Emily showed up on their porch it surprised Y/N to her core, and all of those negative thoughts she’s had about feeling like she could never measure up to Remi’s biological mother came rushing back to the forefront of her mind; only made worse by the fact that George had seemingly been trying to get in contact with Emily behind her back.
But sitting here, now, with George offering her a permanent place in Remi’s life even if she doesn’t want one in his - she knows. She knows that this is all just some stupid misunderstanding and she nearly let the best thing that’s ever happened to her slip away.
“What about Emily?” Y/N asks, voice shaking. “I mean, isn’t she technically still Remi’s Mother like, legally?” she clarifies. She remembers when they had to register Remi at their new pediatrician after they moved, and they needed her birth certificate for her file. Y/N had noticed that Emily was still listed there, and when she googled what that meant that night, she found out it meant Emily hadn’t ever signed her rights away, so she still, legally, had a claim to their daughter.
“She signed her rights away,” George explains, a small smile forming on his face when Y/N’s jaw drops. “That’s why she showed up that day. My lawyer has been trying to hunt her down for months, and she must have heard I was looking for her.”
“And she signed them away?” Y/N asks, still in disbelief. “Just like that?”
George nods before launching into the story of what happened.
-
“You’re a hard woman to track down,” Martin, George’s attorney, jokes as Emily and her attorney take seats at the conference table across from them. But the smile is wiped from his face when George gives him a glare.
This is not the time for joking. He’s barely been functioning since Y/N walked out two nights ago, and he just wants to get this shit over with so he can come clean to her and get on his knees to beg for forgiveness. And at least with Emily out of the way, even if Y/N doesn’t want to take him back she can still adopt Remi. He will deal with shared custody and watching Y/N fall in love with someone else as long as it means his girls are together and happy.
“That’s what happens when you don’t want to be found,” Emily replies dryly. Her eyes finally and on George and the smirk that appears on her face makes his stomach turn. “Weasley, long time no see.”
George huffs. “Can we just cut the shit and get this over with? I’d like to get home to my daughter.”
He can’t help but notice that Emily doesn’t react to him claiming Remi as only his, and it just solidifies that going through all this shit was a good decision. Clearly this woman doesn’t give a shit about the little girl they created together, because if he had said something like that in front of Y/N she would have slapped him upside the head and made him sleep on the couch for a week.
“I’m sure she’s doing just fine with the nanny.” Emily’s voice drips with condescension, and it pisses George off even more.
“Don’t talk about her like that,” he seethes. “Y/N is not Remi’s nanny, she’s her mother. And she’s a damn good one, which is something you know nothing about, so I’m not going to let you sit here and talk shit about the woman who has stepped up and done what you never had the balls to do.”
The room is silent, George’s words echoing around the room until Emily’s attorney clears his throat.
“Well now that we’ve gotten that out of the way,” he drawls. “Why are me and my client here?”
“Oh, right.” Martin grabs the manilla envelope sitting on the table, drawing a document out of it. He hands it to Emily’s attorney, giving him a moment to look it over before he speaks again. “We’d like for Emily to relinquish her rights to Remi. It’s been nearly two years since she abandoned the infant, and George would like for his partner to formally adopt their daughter.”
Every second Emily is silent makes George’s stomach sink further and further, and he can feel the bite of his nails digging into his palm from how hard his fists are clenched. Martin had assured George that even if Emily refuses to sign her rights away there were other ways to have them terminated, but it would be a lengthy process. Which George would absolutely not hesitate to pursue, but he wants this done as quickly as possible, which hinges on this right now going the way he wants.
“So I just sign and that’s it? The baby isn’t mine anymore?” Emily finally asks after she’s read the document.
Martin nods in confirmation. “Precisely. If you sign that today I’ll have it filed with the court this afternoon, and you will no longer have any legal rights or ties to Remi.”
“All right, do you have a pen?”
Not even a second of hesitation. The second her attorney puts a pen in her hand Emily is signing, double checking to make sure she hasn’t missed a spot. As soon as she’s satisfied that everything has been taken care of Emily slides the papers back over to Martin, and George feels as if a weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. Emily is finally out of the way, and he and Y/N are free to be a family in every way possible.
As long as she still wants him, that is. That part of the plan is still up in the air.
-
“So, yeah. That was that,” George trails off as his story comes to an end. He sits back in his chair, just watching Y/N as she takes everything in. There’s a few different emotions flitting across their face, but they’re gone before George can tell what they are. Her eyes look at everything in the room except for his face, and he can’t tell if that’s a good sign or not.
“She just signed them away? Just like that?” Y/N finally says, her voice thick with emotion.
“Yep. We were ready to file a lawsuit for abandonment to have them involuntarily terminated but she just picked up a pen and signed them away.”
Y/N shakes her head. “Wow. Fuck her.”
George can’t help but chuckle. “Yeah, I was pissed at first too, because Remi is fucking amazing and how dare her Mum not realize that and fight to be in her life. But then I realized it doesn’t matter, because Emily isn’t Remi’s Mum and never has been. From the second you walked into our lives you have been her Mum, and the reason why she’s such an amazing little girl is because of you and the love and attention you have shown her. It doesn’t matter that Emily gave Remi half of her DNA, you’ve given Remi everything a real Mother should and that’s what matters.”
She doesn’t even know she’s crying until a few tears drip off of her chin, and Y/N works to quickly wipe them away. Everything George has said just erased every single doubt she’s ever had in her mind. Y/N always felt like Remi and Emily would have some kind of bond due to the fact that they share DNA, but hearing George just now and knowing Emily signed her rights away as if it were nothing proves that it’s all bullshit.
The only woman Remi will ever have that bond with is Y/N, and it has nothing to do with blood.
“Why didn’t you just tell me you were looking for Emily, George?” Y/N finally asks. “I would have understood and supported you.”
“Because I’m a fucking idiot, for one,” George admits honestly. “When I first talked to Martin about the steps it would take for you to legally adopt Remi I wanted it to be a surprise. I bought a ring and had this whole plan to ask you to officially be a part of this family. But when we found out that Emily hadn’t signed away her rights I decided to keep it to myself. I didn’t want to get your hopes up if it wasn’t going to go the way we wanted it to.”
Y/N nods that she understands to encourage George to keep going. It’s actually kind of sweet that George had put so much thought into this whole thing, and she understands why he didn’t say anything. Clearly George was aware of the sore spot Y/N had regarding Emily, and she kind of loves him a bit more for trying to be sensitive to that.
“And then Martin’s search for her was going to shit. Every address we had was old or wrong, every phone number was out of service. Any employer we talked to just said she didn’t work there and any friends or family would ignore us. I was kind of starting to get a little desperate,” he admits sheepishly, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. “So I talked to Fleur and got the contact information for a guy with a, um, special set of skills.”
That gets Y/N curious. “What kind of skills?”
“Hacking, mostly,” George mumbles. “And I wasn’t one hundred percent sure that whatever he was going to do was totally legal, and I figured the less you knew about that the better. If it was all going to go to shit we both couldn’t be in jail. Remi would be left to Fred and we all know how that would end up.”
Once it’s clear George has said everything he needs to Y/N takes a deep breath, taking a second to just let everything sink in. Obviously George made a few mistakes in the way he went about things, she can’t deny how full her heart feels at his gestures. And it’s clear he feels absolutely terrible about how things came about and he regrets not being honest with her.
“That was really the only reason why you didn’t tell me you were looking for Emily? Because it was supposed to be a surprise and you didn’t want me to know about your potentially illegal activities?”
“I swear,” George promises, placing a hand over his heart. “I’m so sorry I kept it from you and I hurt you. I didn’t mean for that to happen and if I could go back and do things differently I would.”
Y/N nods in understanding. She brushes her fingers over the adoption papers, tapping them twice. “And no matter what happens between us you’ll let me sign these papers and legally become Remi’s Mum?”
“Of course. You’re her Mama, and I know how much you love her and she loves you just the same. We can go to court to figure out custody or we can just do it between us, whatever you want. But I will never stop you from being a part of our daughter’s life.”
“Well, I think I’ve heard everything I need to.” Y/N pushes away from the table, biting her lip to keep from grinning at the dejected look on George’s face. She stands, but instead of heading towards the door like he thinks, Y/N rounds the table, plopping herself right down into his lap.
“You got your chance to speak,” she starts, putting a finger to George’s lips to keep him from saying anything. “And now it’s my turn. I’m sorry too, for acting the way I did that night. Emily showing up shocked me, and brought all of these insecurities and negative thoughts to the forefront of my mind and I went spiraling down this dark path. I knew that there was a rational explanation for Emily being on our porch and I didn’t give you a chance to explain things. For that I’m sorry.”
“Apology accepted,” George responds once she lets him speak. “But just know I’m only saying that to appease you and not because I really think you owe me an apology.” Y/N finally breaks out into a full smile, and George feels the happiest he has all week.
“And you’ll never go behind my back ever again?”
“Never,” George answers honestly, his voice firm.
Before George has the opportunity to realize what’s happening Y/N leans in, pressing their lips together and pouring every emotion she’s felt over their separation into their kiss. George wraps his arms around her waist, absorbing every bit of hurt, pain, anger, longing and love she passes off to him. Even when their kiss breaks he keeps her pressed tightly to his chest, silently telling her that he plans on never letting go again.
“So,” Y/N starts, her voice teasing. “What’s that you said about buying a ring?”

Hey there, weird request but could you do maybe like I usually goth and quiet reader who seems like they'd hate white girl music, gets drunk, and starts Screaming/singing "call me maybe", and professes their love for Taylor Swift? Just a silly request from a silly delulu girl😍😋thanks babes👍
Tumblr media
─Strawhats, Kid Pirates & Whitebeard Pirates x reader
─Summary: You swear you hate white girl music and yet it only takes a little alcohol for you to know all the songs you swore you hated.
─Warnings: none
nahh it's okay, here we're all delulu (me too 😔🤌🏻)
Tumblr media
─ You spend a large part of the day listening to music, either in private or at a respectable volume in meetings so as not to disturb.
─ Everyone knows your tastes and how much you complain about music, especially if it's white girl music, they will never hear you listening to that kind of stuff.
─ You argue a lot with Brook about songs and sometimes Franky joins in, since they are both the ones who precede you in your obsession with listening to music at all hours.
─ Now, your sober and drunk side are different people, or at least, concepts of your personality that others should forget, we are not going to review all the embarrassing things you have done while drunk.
─ But something that they remind you constantly like breathing was that time you had too many drinks that your body couldn't handle.
─ It was in a bar while you were celebrating having liberated another island from some random tyrant, the atmosphere was great and you loved the music that accompanied it, but the moment you crossed that line, between sobriety and drunkenness, that's when you lost it.
─ You went crazy when “call me maybe” started playing, shouting at the top of your lungs, some of your comrades looked at you suspiciously, Luffy just followed you while Brook thought you were an imposter.
─ Robin had to take you to the boat that night while you ranted about your favorite artists, being the complete opposite of what you used to listen to on a daily basis, she wasn't the only one, because Nami ended up learning Taylor Swift's entire discography.
─ They asked Chopper for something to put you to sleep because you couldn't stop humming songs even with your eyes closed.
Tumblr media
─ Nobody, absolutely nobody except Heat, listened to that kind of music.
─ You expressed countless times your most sincere hatred towards white girl music, throwing hate at the main artists or songs in particular, everyone at Victoria Punk knew about your dislike towards the genre.
─ Maybe the only one who caught you listening to those songs was Wire, but you threatened to cut out his tongue if he said a single word about this.
─ Although it wasn't necessary, when in one of the many celebrations for defeating any strong opponent, you got drunk, putting aside your hatred and embracing your tastes closely that night.
─ Kid almost choked on his beer when he saw how both you and Heat started a dance battle that ended with both of you singing “Last Friday Night.”
─ Taking advantage of the fact that the next morning you would regret it, he recorded everything to show you, making fun of you was always fun for your captain, especially if it was his revenge for recording him canoodling with Killer at the previous party.
─ Even when most of the crew got tired or fainted from exhaustion, you continued giving your concert.
─ Killer had to drag you back to your bed after you vomited a couple of times on the way, listening to how you would describe fun facts from the album "1989", he patted you on the back and left you, hoping you wouldn't throw up again.
─ The next day you chased Kid all over the ship to erase that singing video from existence.
Tumblr media
─ Only Thatch knew about your guilty taste for that type of music, he was also a secret fan, since no one used to enter the kitchen apart from him and a couple of other people, you took advantage of that time to do private concerts.
─ The problem was that Ace discovered you while he was trying to steal food, and sometimes he has just enough neurons.
─ Probably not all the crew knew your musical tastes, but most definitely knew what kind of music you didn't like, because you were always complaining if any of those songs came on the radio.
─ Oh, everyone missed how you enjoyed the songs, moving your lips singing in silence.
─ The fact is that Ace, in one of his brilliant ideas, took you on stage in the middle of a party, although it wasn't something that caught everyone's attention, it definitely caught the attention of your closest people.
─ Not only were you drunk, but you also started singing “Don't let me down” with Thatch with everything you had, Ace joined in, slurring the lyrics but following the rhythm.
─ Izo knew it was time to get you off the stage when you started to wobble more than necessary, you hugged him to keep from falling, listing each of Taylor Swift's albums and each favorite song from her respective album.
─ The next morning you had completely forgotten what happened that night, more concerned with receiving Marco's hangover pills, he made fun of you for your performance but since you didn't remember it you just told him he dreamed it or something.
─ It was Whitebeard who made you remember what you had done that night, completely embarrassed not by singing those songs, but by the drunkenness you had gotten, you are glad to have such an understanding father right now.

The sandwich heist.
Shadow spent the next couple of days just vibing. His need to figure out how he got back quickly being exchanged for the pleasant surprise of people not completely hating him!
Sure, there were plenty of people who thought black cats were bad luck, but he had more than just black fur, and a lot of people saw that first.
He got lots of compliments for being pretty, and his ego couldn’t help but soak it all up like a sponge.
Besides that, he would walk in the light now! Sure it was uncomfortably warm and made him feel queasy if he did it for too long, but he still could! He counted that as a win.
Though he did panic a little when he figured it out at first, turns out the bench he had chosen to fall asleep under wasn’t as light proof as he had originally thought.
Hunting was fun too.
~~~~~
Alright, should I go for the obvious option and get the mouse? Or should I go for the fun option and steal the sandwich that guy left sitting beside him so he could read his book? Choices, choices.
Who am I kidding, I have to commit to the bit.
Alright.
I sit in a bush nearby and watch. He keeps taking a bite every three or so minutes, aka every time he turns a page. Slow ass reader, kinda like Vio…
Anyways.
The guy turns the page, his hand slowly reaching down for his sandwich. I ready myself to lunge. Oh a huge grin would've been on my face if I had a human one!
He takes a bite, crumbs falling on to his book, he sets the sandwich down quickly to dust them off, and-!
I lunge for the sandwich, the movement catching the eye of the teen who barely has time to respond before his sandwich is in my mouth and I am darting off with it.
“HEY, THAT’S MINE!” The guy yells, and holy shit! How did I not recognize him! Of course it was Vio, this makes it even better!!
Somebody laughs behind me as the sound of a very disgruntled person take off after me.
Does he really expect to catch up to a cat? Does he really want this back? Turns out the answer is yes to both because the chase is on!
I dive around people, duck under benches, and eventually manage to drag myself and the half of sandwich up a tree and out of his reach.
At some point the other three had joined the chase, pretty sure Red or Green was trying to get him to stop, Blue just seemed to be enjoying the whole ordeal.
Vio stood at the base of the tree, arms folded over his chest and a light glare on his face. Blue brightened, “hey Red, isn’t that the cat you were trying to make friends with the other night?” He asked, pointing up as though I wasn’t perfectly visible.
Red blinked up at me, clueless, until his eyes widened. “You’re right! It is!” He then looked so upset and betrayed, “you don’t think I taught him taking food from people was okay do you?”
“No, probably not, he looks like a general menace to society anyways. You obviously didn’t help but-” Green assured, and the grabbed Vio’s arm as he seemed to be trying to climb up after me.
“Vio just drop it. Do you really want that thing back at this point?” Oh cool he voiced my thought!
“It’s the principle of the matter, Green.” Vio stated hottily, continuing to try and climb up after me.
At this point I was eating the sandwich like it was popcorn, this is great! Like the good old days where I could watch these four be idiots from the relative safety of behind the dark mirror.
I didn’t actually miss those days, but it still made me nostalgic.
“Vio it’s really not worth it.” Green tried again, reaching out to stop Vio, but Blue put a hand on his arm.
“No, let him try, I have got to see this!”
Vio glared at him, clearly unimpressed, but then realization of what exactly he was doing dawned on his face. A bright red hue that I really wish I coulda gotten a picture of! He jumped off the tree from where he had barely gotten any height, and crossed his arms again.
“Never mind, it’s not worth the trouble anyways.” He admitted. Sadly, he would not be trying to recover his sandwich. Such a shame.
“Thank you.” Green looked exasperatedly up at the sky, like Hylia had finally given Vio a little bit of sense.
I gotta admit, I wasn’t expecting Vio to be the type to chase a cat up a tree over a sandwich, but it made sense. Him and Blue seemed to be the most prideful of the rainbow circus, it woulda been either of the two of them to do it.
~~~~~~~~~~
The four walked away, Red shooting a “bye bye kitty!” over his shoulder at him.
Shadow decided to be cheeky and wave back in a ‘bye bye’ motion. Much to Red’s pure joy.
He decided he liked this new life of his.

so uhh this is gonna be scatterbrained. but i'm gonna ramble about milo and (what little info we have on) colm. sorry in advance if it doesn’t make sense i just had to exorcise this demon 🫡
i believe "camping with your alpha boyfriend (2021)" is the earliest mention of colm in an audio. obviously we don't actually know milo's side of things because it's told from david's POV, but we still get the mental image of little thirteen year old milo sitting shotgun in his dad's pickup as they drive to their camping spot. gabe's goofing around in the truck bed to make david and asher laugh, and colm joins in the fun by swerving the truck to mess with gabe. very basic dad thing to do, my dad's done the exact same thing to me and my siblings. it feels familiar and silly, and david frames it as a good memory, so it feels like a good memory. which is important to the point of this post
in "celebrating the new house (2022)," we get a little more colm lore:
My dad was forever blowing any cash he made on fucking bets and gambling and shit, chasing some fucking high. My mom was the only reason we didn’t end up out on the fucking street. He didn’t pull his head out of his ass and get some help until after I’d already moved out. So I never got to have that feeling of being in a house that was actually ours, ya know?
already this is a stark contrast to what we've previously heard of colm (i don't think there's any real mention of him between sept 2021 and dec 2022?) and it kinda makes me look at that old memory in a different light, especially with regards to david saying marie was "nagging [colm's] ear off about being irresponsible and a bad example." like. ykwim? like i'm just thinking about that interaction and wondering how far along those problems were at the time, if they were present at all. was this a normal, fun family outing? or would milo have rather been in the truck bed with david, asher, and gabe?
(and the fact that it wasn't until after milo moved out that colm tried getting any help?? i could make a whole other post speculating about milo struggling with wanting to move out of that environment ASAP vs not wanting to leave marie on her own to deal with colm)
so then i'm re-listening to "your werewolf boyfriend is worried about you" and having a visceral reaction to (re-)learning that colm was also an alcoholic:
But what he chose to do with that frustration and that feeling of powerlessness was not his job’s fault, those were his choices. He’s the one who decided to lose himself in booze and gambling and never being home. Never being there for the people he said he loved but apparently couldn’t stand to be around.
the last sentence especially is just an absolute heartbreaker because milo's, what, thirty now? and he's been dealing with this since he was a kid. clearly he's not on great terms with colm. the only times he ever talks about him is when he's shit talking the department. that is a crazy weight for someone to carry their whole life. i don't have experience with the gambling side but i do have an alcoholic family member who i used to be really close to as a kid but grew up to intensely resent as a result of his actions, so it hits a little close to home to see that reflected in milo
but i digress. umm. i bring up the camping story to highlight the most recent mention of colm from milo and how there were good times and sometimes maybe it hurts to remember them when the person involved devastated you as you grew up because they weren't what you thought they were. and how these things follow you through life and impact how you approach certain things. milo has to live with the fact that the same system that royally fucked colm is potentially going to do the same thing to the love of his life; i never drink more than one shot or half a beer, if i drink at all, and i don't like being around drunk people. even though we don't hear about colm very often, his influence is still there whenever milo has to deal with the department in any way
anyway i guess TLDR; imagine living the majority of your thirty years of life feeling like your dad couldn't stand to be around you because he was too busy drinking himself stupid and gambling away every penny he had as a way to deal with the strain that his job put on him. imagine having to witness your mom struggle constantly to keep you cared for. imagine the few good childhood memories you have with your dad being overshadowed by thinking he didn't love you or your mom enough to change. imagine watching the department run your soulmate into the dirt physically and mentally the same way it did your father and wanting to be supportive of them but also being so worried for them. it's a really interesting situation for him to be in and i enjoy it but it hurts me. the end

JOE MOSCHEO (THE IMPERIALS) REMEMBERS ELVIS:
"THAT'S LOVE, YOU KNOW? 🥹"
Tumblr media
Elvis and The Imperials. L-R: Armond Morales, Jim Murray, Elvis Presley, Joe Moscheo and Terry Blackwood.
First of all, I can't say I'm shocked because I know enough of our man to believe he would go any different, but each story gets me more and more in love with his soul. You gotta listen to Joe Moscheo (The Imperials/Gospel Music Hall Of Fame artist) sharing this amazing story of one more time the greatest Elvis Presley did show his concern for others well-being, of one more time he used his influence and fortune to ease other people's burdens - when he could have simply turned his face the other way (and I mean it - the guy literally chased opportunities to help people... that's so surprising, OMG.) Elvis fans are familiar with each of his band members saying how humble and kind he was to them, specially (as some of them put) when it was so unusual for an artist as huge as Elvis Presley to even talk to the background singers, or the other musicians, at all. Kathy Westmoreland, for instance, shared in her book (Elvis and Kathy) that the musicians were pretty considered as "part of the furniture" onstage, nobody paid much attention to them - but it was different with Elvis. He made his musicians part of his shows, and it wasn't any different behind the cameras. He chatted with them, he gifted them, he offered help, he asked about their families. This story here, by the way, is especially touching when Moscheo mentions his four kids and what Elvis said to them on that night (Yes, Elvis left his hotel to meet Joe's family in a time of need!) This right here happened around 1970, according to Joe... Elvis was again on fire with his career... a documentary coming up, the Las Vegas engagements... life was fun and exciting... he could easily have cared less about others misfortunes... but he was Elvis. ⚡Just listen to this and cry with me:
WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW HERE (YOUTUBE)
A LITTLE SUMMARIZED STORY ON THE IMPERIALS AND ELVIS' ASSOCIATION The Imperials recorded with Elvis in sessions from May 1966 to June 1971 (formed in 1964, at the beginning the group was called Jake Hess and The Imperials, but that changed in 1967, as well as the group's formation). Among their contributions to Elvis' music, his last two Grammy Award-producing albums: How Great Thou Art and He Touched Me. In 1969, Elvis hired them to perform in concert with him after The Jordanaires, due to scheduling conflicts, refused his invitation. The Imperials are featured in Elvis' first music documentary, "Elvis: That's The Way It Is", taped in California and Las Vegas from July to August 1970, and released that same year on November 11, 1970 (U.S.). The Imperials' association with Elvis Presley lasted until November 1971, when schedule conflicts made the group decide not to perform with him anymore, and that's when the next (and last) male gospel quartet to join the TCB Band was JD Sumner and The Stamps, also performing in Presley's live concerts and working in recording sessions.

Sibling Headcanons!
Back on it with my headcanons once again, this time with all the kiddos. (and no, you didn't see that post that I surreptitiously deleted I've no idea what you're talking about)
Spider and Neteyam are both opposites. Spider is the reckless, adventure seeking older brother, whilst Neteyam is the responsible thinks before he acts older brother. So if they're spending the day together in the forest, Spider is likely to go climbing up a tree, whilst Neteyam calls up to him from its roots to be careful.
It's the same when you add in the younger siblings. Spider feeds on their chaotic energy, usually playing games of chase, or hide and seek when they're meant to be getting ready for bed. Whilst Neteyam sits quietly, either with Lo'ak or Tuk in his lap.
When Lo'ak was born, it took a while for Spider to grow used to him, and even longer for Lo'ak to like Spider. It was often Neteyam who would hold the baby, and Spider would mind Kiri because they bonded quickly. But then, at the age of 4 Lo'ak (stupidly) gets lost in the forest, and Spider is the first to find him - mostly because he thought to look in the roots of the great trees rather than under bushes.
Kiri and Spider have a special relationship, in the sense that when you get them together in one room, the energy levels will climb exponentially until their smiles are so wide their cheeks hurt, and their laughter so loud it can be heard at the bottom of Hometree. They can have their quiet moments too; when they're tired, they can often be found sat together braiding each others hair, or napping with Spider wrapped around Kiri's spread eagled form.
Tuk, when she's old enough, refuses to be treated as a baby. Even though she's the youngest. She talks back to Neteyam when he suggests something, teases Spider as much as he does her, even treats Lo'ak as her personal pillow. But, she still loves her older siblings; she will happily sit quietly with Kiri in the company of the forest, joins Neteyam on his ikran for a short flight, goes with Spider to see [spoilers], and badgers Lo'ak to play with her daily.
When their parents are out on date night, it is usually Spider and Neteyam who mind the younger ones. Although, again, that turns into chaos. Mealtime becomes a mess, because neither boy knows how to heat the food their mum left behind so they end up going to Mo'at. Washing up takes an age, because Spider finds it great fun to splash his siblings and start a water fight. And bedtime almost takes an hour. However, by the time Jake and Neytiri return home, it's to the adorable sight of the kids tangled together in a cuddle pile like nantang pups, their arms and legs tangled and Neteyam stuck at the bottom.

headcanon: Kiyi and Tom-Tom help Maiko get back together after Smoke and Shadow
(this post doubles as sort of a director's commentary on my latest fic that literally no one asked for, but I thought it would be fun to do! LOL)
So we all know that Mai and Zuko broke up in the comics... but their last panel together in Smoke and Shadow Part 3 is them holding their younger siblings, which we can argue leaves things on a pretty hopeful note
(and if we REALLY want to push the Maiko agenda, dare I say it's a foreshadowing of some sorts?)
Tumblr media
Additionally, at Emerald City Comic Con 2017 (timestamp 17:52), Gene Luen Yang implied that the breakup is only temporary.
Anyway, shipping aside, I love this part in Smoke and Shadow where Zuko worries about Tom-Tom losing his innocence after getting kidnapped by the 'Kemurikage'. We also find out that him and Mai babysat Tom-Tom on one of their picnic dates.
Tumblr media
Going off of this, I have a headcanon that the abducted kids would occasionally gather at the palace after the Kemurikage incident to essentially have group therapy sessions (an initiative by the Fire Lord, because he's worried that the kids might be traumatized). This is how Tom-Tom and Kiyi became friends.
One day, they heard that Mai and Zuko are 'boyfriend-girlfriend'. Here's how it went down on my fic:
“You know, I heard from Dad who heard from other guards who heard from the kitchen ladies that the Fire Lord and Tom-Tom’s sis are boyfriend-girlfriend.”  Hearing Guri, Constable Sung’s son, join in on the conversation made Tom-Tom hyper-aware that he probably shouldn’t say anything bad about Zuko, especially now after knowing that he’s the Fire Lord.
Between the events of the ATLA finale and The Promise Part 2 (which is where Mai breaks up with Zuko in the throne room), I think it's safe to say that Mai would be at the palace for a considerable amount of time. I think it would be funny if the news of their breakup didn't reach ALL of the palace employees---so Kiyi and Tom-Tom took it upon themselves to have their siblings spend more time together.
Another thing I had so much fun writing is this interaction between Mai and Kiyi:
“We already met before. That night in the graveyard,” Mai stated matter-of-factly, causing Kiyi to whip her head up with stuffed cheeks, noodle broth dribbling down her chin. She felt her previously strained smile give way to something more genuine, imagining her younger self.     Instead of scolding her for poor table manners like what her own mother would have done, Mai took out a handkerchief. And, driven by instinct, she wiped the girl’s face—the movements gentle and unhurried.
Meanwhile, here's my favorite exchange between Zuko and Tom-Tom:
“Do you like my sister, Mister Fire Lord?”  The question took him by great surprise, the fact that Tom-Tom still refused to drop his title never even registered. But despite the unprompted nature of the question, it was one that he could give an answer to at any time of day—and at any stage of his life. “I like your sister very much,” he declared, staring straight into Tom-Tom’s eyes. It was a truth that he has stood by since he was twelve, deeply rooted in the fiber of his being. It was an innate warmth that he believed he would carry forever—one that beats in tandem with his inner fire.
Near the end of the fic, Mai and Zuko also have a conversation about Azula, and how their messed-up nation didn't give her a normal childhood, while Kiyi and Tom-Tom happily chase glow moths in the background:
“Do you ever look at Kiyi and wonder whether Azula would have been as happy if this country wasn't so messed up?” Mai asked, her gaze curious.  “Every day,” he replied, and generations of siblings being pitted against each other flashed through his mind. “That's why I'm doing my best to give her a normal childhood—with a country that hopefully isn't as messed up.”  “I’m glad that kids today can at least have that much.” She looked at Kiyi and Tom-Tom who were laughing as they continued to chase glow moths, then turned to Zuko with a smirk. “Era of love and peace and all.”
If you've read my rambling all the way to the end, thank you! Here's the link to the fic if you wanna read (please give it some love)

I just got Clausten lovechildren on the brain~
(I also have a whole idea on how love children are created so- if you’re interested feel free to read here)
Now introducing! ✨ The Bois ✨
I imagine Claus and Ninten having twins. With Claus being a twin and Ninten having twin sisters it just makes sense to me (plus I love twin characters haha)
And thus, Tess and Jesse!
Tumblr media
Tess is named after Tessie (from Tazmily, I love the hc that she really looked after the boys after their mother passed away), when Claus and Ninten did their name reveal however, Jeff whole-heartedly thought the pair were cryptid fans, doesn’t help that the baby inherited purple hair from Nin’s side.
Jesse is a rhyming name with Tess which Ninten was super excited to incorporate lol. Other name options were Lincoln and Collinn (yes, with two N’s, as an anagram like Lucas and Claus’), and Nolan and Dolan (which was more of a joke made by Claus, which Ninten in return was going to take 100% seriously)
Their “baby/childhood’ nicknames are Tessie and Jessie.
More info:
Parenthood
For the first couple of days when they were born, Claus was a bit reluctant to touch them- scared he was gonna hurt them. Ninten would then go and take his left hand, gently guide it to one of the sleeping babes and press his hand on one of the babies, telling him not to worry and that he shouldn’t be scared, since he’s their father after all. (This did in fact made Claus, and I, cry)
Clausten adjusted into parenthood fairly easily, something about them being responsible older brothers making them pretty ok dads. They’re a little messy, but most first time parents are. (Especially with twins haha) Claus and Ninten take turns disciplining and teaching the kids, Ninten being the more stern parent than Claus. (Definitely the perks of being the older big brother and ‘man of his house’ at a young age). Claus is a bit scared to discipline his kids, but he does a great job teaching them about good morals and about the world. They go exploring on ‘mini expeditions’ bringing back nature scrapbooks and rocks to decorate the windowsills and shelves at home.
Ninten ended up being a lot more motherly than he would’ve imagined as a parent, very caring towards the boys and always thinking of things to do for their needs. He’s always singing and dancing with his boys. Making everyday very fun and whimsical, providing fun make-believe scenarios about fairytales and fantasy.
Claus on the other hand, grows to be a lot like his dad. This is actually something Lucas caught earlier on once the brothers became more like adults. Claus is very quiet when parenting, much more happy to just watch his lover and his kids playing, rather than joining them. When he watches the boys however, he does it quietly, telling them about things if they point it out and eagerly responds but with a calm demeanor.
Personality
When the boys reach more into a toddler age, it is very noticeable that Tess is a LOT more energetic than his twin. Jesse is a daddy’s boy, so he is constantly being cuddled and held. On family outings, it’s common to find Claus chasing Tess around aimlessly, while Ninten has Jesse practically glued to his chest, face not even facing other people, just pressed into his dad.
Tess acts a lot like younger Claus, just more giggly and optimistic (I imagine baby Claus was more energetic and hot-headed, but Tess is here to have a good time) Tess is a YAPPER, however, constantly just babbling on and on about the randomest things, “Oh? It’s a bird! 🐦 ☺️ hi Mr. Birdie! Daddy, Mr. Birdie is blue! Daddy, is Mr. Birdie going home? Daddy? Daddy! Look! Look!”
Jesse acts like a younger Lucas and Ninten. He’s a quiet kid with separation anxiety. Pretty much refuses to talk unless he thinks it’s absolutely necessary, like saying good night to his dads or telling on his brother who ate all his cheerios. He also idolizes Ninten, and wishes to be just like him!
*Tying scarf around his neck* Nin + Claus: “Jessie what are you doing baby?”
Jesse turns around, proud of his work, the scarf was roughly tied, but it is still held together, the toddler stands in a hero pose tiny hands on his hips, eyes gleaming, and spoken in a little raspy voice, “Look. Jessie look like daddy!” 😊 He stands proudly.
————————————————————
AHHHH - I got art coming soon- so I hope you like the little sketch of the boys as toddlers for now!!! ((And feel free to ask any questions about the kids I’m more than happy to answer!!))

why would thalia want to join the hunters? before unhappy tree times, i think that it was about the idea of family and safety. she and annabeth could have found somewhere to belong where they weren't chased by monsters the whole time, because being part of artemis's chosen would have made hades stop sending his monsters after them. they would have been safe and free and had fun and sisterhood! but thalia cared way too much about luke to leave him out to dry, and with zoe's original Men Are the Worst stance, thalia was going to stay out of it on principal.
with the combination of her "dead" baby brother and her current best friend, thalia wasn't going to swear off the company of men at that time, even if she thought luke was going to be safe because it felt cowardly and like a betrayal of not just her friend, but her family. so she was going to fight and get her friends back to camp, which was supposed to be this haven for kids like them.
then she dies, becomes a tree, and wakes up in a world where everything is just... different. a little too far to the left. her best friend's betrayed this place where she's never going to fit in, her little sister's almost the same age as her, and now there's this... guy. who's so similar to her! he's strong too! he's dear to annabeth! he's a big three kid who thinks he knows best about everything and they clash-get along- clash- get along. and he's already spread his roots all throughout this place and all over her little sister's heart.
there's not really ROOM for her here. she should be eighteen. she SHOULD be one of the oldest members of this camp with all these roots and relationships and ways to make it work.. but she's not. she was a tree. and even with a camp full of demigods... that's really weird. that's a hard thing to explain and get people to understand. on top of that, she's a forbidden daughter of zeus, she knows things that none of them could or would and annabeth chase looks at her with sad starry eyes but she's still just.. fifteen? and no one really knows her and no one really wants to, because that's weird and freaky and hard to adjust to, especially when she can go toe to toe with percy but doesn't have his Super Chill Guy Aura.
so that's isolating, but what else can she do? she's now got this well established grudge against the hunters because she and zoe had a fight when thalia turned down the offer that first time. zoe nightshade, who's thousands of years old. these few years that thalia's been a tree? that's nothing for her. the old argument is as fresh for her as it is for thalia. and that's GREAT for thalia! someone who hasn't moved on from everything the way that it was before she got tree-d. she and zoe fight, but it's in a way that works well for her and they grow through these relationships that they have with the others... and we don't get to see a lot of it since it's percy's point of view, but you can still feel it. the way that they're working through things, the way that thalia's thoughts are changing as she watches zoe's change too, and then she's ready to take on this wonderful, confusing immortality with a group of girls who will welcome and understand her!
they're used to weird, confusing time stuff. they're used to difficult relationships with people outside of the hunters. and they might be surprised and a little put off by how friendly thalia still is with boys outside the group, but she just swore off the COMPANY of men. she's not going to date them or hang out with them all the time. she can still like and respect some of them. (that's what her issue was the first time, really. feeling like she had to accept zoe's EVERY SINGLE MAN WILL HURT YOU AND IS NOT WORTH IT!) but now that thalia's got her own system worked out for how to deal with it... she's gonna really belong with the hunters, and it's going to be a good thing for her: not just a plot device.

Long Live the King
Chapter 8: Under Elder Wings
Read Fantasy Masks | Read Swapboys | Read the first FM adventure | Other Multiverse Adventures | Read on AO3
The first day on the ship passes without much fuss.
Until, that is, the time the Swaps sat with the Phantoms to make their masks late on the first day.
It was a bit chaotic, trying to hold a bucket of water still on a shifting and ever swaying deck. But that’s how you make the plaster, after all. Mixing the dried plaster with water, The boys all take turns holding the bucket still.
The Swaps wanted to be a bit more unique with their masks, but also stick with the Phantoms’ rules. Dr. J ends up making a dove mask, though he uses a base from the Phantom’s to do so. It’s plain and simple, which suits him just fine.
Jackieboy thinks back to his childhood in Ireland and decides to make pine marten- or how his mam used to call them ‘cat crainn’. He remembers begging his mam to have one as a kid!
Henny decides to get very creative and makes a hedgehog- mostly because Alt and Bro had shown him that hedgehog game they loved so much and he thought they were adorable! And his friends thought he was too!
There was a scary moment where Henny thought to mold the masks to fit their faces he’d need to squeeze the wet plaster onto his own face. Luckily, everyone rushed to stop him and they all had a great laugh, much to Henny’s embarrassment.
Bro watches and helps his friends make their masks, but can’t help feeling a bit sad. Alt really would have enjoyed this…
Once the masks are dry, the fantasy boys tell the Swaps what their symbols mean. Marvin encourages Henny to put the magician suits on his mask for his magic. Dr. J, already sticking with a bird to fit the theme the doctors had, is proud to add the healer symbol to his mask. And Jackieboy adds the fighter symbol, like his other self and Bro. He might not be the best fighter yet- but he had time to learn.
The second day passes by with even more ease.
Until, about two hours before sunset, the sound of a bell rings out.
"Land ho!" one of the crew members shouts. In the distance there are tall cliffs overlooking a slight pebbly beach. Waves lap at the shore and the rocks surrounding the cliffs. And perched on the top is a camp made of many, many canvas tents of varying colors. It stays about fifty to a hundred feet away from the edge, but as beautiful as the location is, it still seems a bit risky.
Jackieboy looks from where he was lounging on some of the rigging and then excitedly stands up and looks out. “Yahoo!” He says and then scales down to join his friends. He’s had a lot of practice the past few days.
Henny had run over the look out the side of the ship and grins wide as he sees the landscape. “Oh wow! So pretty!!”
“…and dangerous- why are the tents so close to the cliff??” Dr. J mutters in confusion.
"They're not that close," Jackie says defensively.
"They're pretty close," Chase says.
Jackie hesitates. "Look, I wasn't actually there when they decided where the camp would go. Me and Henrik were sort of... wandering through the foothills... heading here slowly."
Bro looks up from where he was training, as he’s been doing most days. Then, Jackieboy lands beside him and Bro grins. “You’re getting pretty good at that!”
Jackieboy laughs, “I gotta see if I can rent a boat back home and do some videos on one man- it’s been so much fun!”
Marvin comes up from below deck. He looks a bit pale, but not really sick. "I heard the bell. Are we there?"
"Yes," Jackie says.
"Finally!"
Are you okay, Marvin? Jameson asks.
"I just... still don't like ships, I think," Marvin mutters. "Not like some people." He looks at Jackieboy.
Henny tries to give Marvin a gentle smile. “It’s good to see you though!”
Dr. J nods with Marvin, “The tonic made it easier but yeah… I think I much prefer dry land… or at least easier waters…”
"I think if you were from this world, Vsevna would be begging you to join his crew." Marvin tells Jackieboy.
Jackieboy grins wide at Marvin and laughs, “If I was from this world, I’d probably join! Maybe I was meant to be a sailor in another life!”
"Where are he and Henrik, anyway?" Jackie asks.
"Cabin," Chase says. When Jackie and Marvin laugh, he shakes his head. "Don't think like that. I think it's something serious."
Jackie becomes serious in turn. "Maybe he's telling Vsevna about his curse."
"Hope that goes well," Marvin mutters. "If it doesn't, I'm going to hex Vsevna."
Dr. J looks towards the cabin with concern, “Oh yes… his curse. …Vsenva is a good man, I’m sure he’ll understand.”
Henny agrees, nodding. “Yes! And he cares for other me so much! I see it in his eyes- it is very sweet!”
Jackie chuckles. "Yea, Henrik probably has nothing to worry about with Vsevna. He just... worries too much."
"Well, let's give him time," Marvin says.
Is there anything we can do to help the crew? Jameson asks.
"I don't think I've learned much about all the ship stuff," Chase says slowly. "Not enough to help."
"Have you actually learned anything about the ship while climbing all over it, Jackieboy?" Jackie asks. "Or do you just like climbing?"
Jackieboy beams, “Actually! I learned a ton! The lads working up there taught me a bunch! Like the ropes that hold each mast up are called the shrouds- and the ladders hung between shrouds are called rat lines! And you should try to have a least 3 parts of your body touching or you could fall- and you go up there to either tie the gaskets or pack it up! Or use the crow’s nest to see land!”
Dr. J stares, his mouth a bit agape. “you learned all that in two days?!”
“Wasn't hard! And it was interesting!”
“That is so cool, Jackie!!” Henny says excitedly.
“That was way too many words for me to process but proud of you, man!” Bro laughs.
As the crew runs around unloading things and preparing the rowboats, the guys from this world listen, impressed, to Jackieboy.
"He's like you," Jackie says, nudging Marvin.
"Huh? He's literally you."
"No, I mean, you can learn so fast about magic and stuff."
"You can learn so fast about combat and stuff."
"Okay, okay, fine."
Jackieboy laughs, “I can learn lots of things if I hyperfixate! The downside is I usually can’t focus on anything else.”
“And yet you got C’s in college-“ JJ says with a laugh and shake of his head, “Jackie Mann, you are a wonder.”
Jackie grins, “I try!”
Chase tilts his head. "What's, um... 'kahlledsh'?"
I don't think that's how you say it at all, Jameson says, grinning.
Dr. J blinks then hides his laugh behind his hand, “College” he repeats slowly, “Usually we call it university or uni. It’s a school, typically for younger adults who go to learn about things they wanna pursue later in life. Bro, Jackie and I all went to the same one.”
“That’s how we met!” Jackieboy smiles, “Though- I didn’t become good friends with Bro until he saved me from a bad fall.”
Bro grins and brings Jackieboy in to noogie him. “You’re so lucky you didn’t break your neck!”
At that very moment, Henrik appears seemingly out of nowhere. "I've heard there are higher schools like that all across the southern continent."
"Holy Elders' flame!" Jackie gasps, hand instinctively going to his sword before he quickly lets go. "Where did you come from?!"
"Somewhere else," Henrik says vaguely. If they look closely, they might notice that his eyes are a bit red.
"Everything... doing fine?" Chase asks.
Henrik smiles. "Yes, everything is fine, thank you. Great, in fact."
Marvin relaxes. "Good to hear. So... there are these kallesh--k-kollesh--kolledzh--schools on other continents?"
"Yes, I hear there are some in Saelas too," Henrik says. "Though Saelas is fond of its philosophy and such, so all the schools there will be devoted to that. In the south you can have a great time learning about whatever knowledge you want. History, art, medicine, maths, magic. They are very well-learned down there. Nemet told me once that they have a great library in her home country of Kha'Nephthys, one where a copy of every book is stored. Not sure how true that can be, but it is what she claimed."
“Ah like the library of Alexandria!” Dr. J says with sparkling eyes, “Oh… that would be a sight to see…” But, he looks back to the others and smiles, “But yes, the southern schools Henrik described are like our universities. There’s a lot of different subjects to study- which is how the three of us ended up at the same school despite our different life paths.”
Henny sighs, “I wish I could have studied at university! We could not afford it in my time.”
"That would be a nice place to go," Marvin says, eyes lighting up.
"Sounds boring," Jackie says.
"I'd be a bit curious..." Chase says.
I always wanted to learn more music, do you think I could learn music there? Jameson wonders.
Henrik chuckles. "Yes, you could learn music there. You could learn just about anything."
Meanwhile, the crew is lowering one of the boats into the water. Vsevna approaches the group. "Would you all like to row out first, again?" he asks the swaps. "Ankhi and Felicia would be happy to help."
It's obvious that he starts holding Henrik's hand as soon as he walks over, their pinkies hooked together. Literally everyone notices.
Henny sees them holding hands and he gasps lightly, putting his hands on his cheeks in exaggerated glee. Jackieboy notices Henny getting too excited and drags him over, “Yeah, that sounds good! Wouldn’t wanna get in the way!”
Bro blinks, “I can help unload if you all need again-“
"Your help was greatly appreciated, if you would like," Vsevna says to Bro.
Bro grins, “It’s no problem!” He hurries off to go help.
“And the rest of you." Vsevna gestures at the boat. "I suggest you get in a rowboat now if you are afraid of heights and do not want to climb down the side."
Marvin raises his hand. "Can I--"
Let's help unload, Marvin, Jameson interrupts, then starts pulling him off.
"Oh! Alright, Jair, fine."
The other swaps laugh a bit at Marvin being dragged away. “We’ll head to the rowboats then, see you all on land!” Dr. J says cheerfully.
"I'll come with you guys," Chase says. "Make sure they know you're all friendly."
Jackieboy looks at the rigging sadly and pats some of the ropes. “It was fun while it lasted-“
“Oh don’t be dramatic, Jackie, c’mon-“ JJ sighs and starts dragging Jackieboy towards the rowboats. Henny giggles and waves to the others before following after them.
The two sailors, Ankhi and Felicia, greet them warmly, and soon the group is in the rowboat and heading towards the cliffs. It's a bit more of a rocky ride than the one coming to the ship, but still tolerable. They touch down on the pebbly beach and Felicia points out a steep path up to the tops. "We'll stay until we see you reach there," she says.
Dr. J smiles, “Thank you!” He’s so thankful to be back on dry land but when they step off- he and Henny seem to wobble- like they can still feel the waves. They unfortunately cling to Jackieboy, who tries to help them up the path towards the top of the cliff.
Henny seems to get his land legs back pretty quickly, much to his relief. But, after a near face plant and tons of intense swaying, Dr. J is practically plastered to Jackie’s side as they make their way up.
Chase isn't doing much better than JJ, clinging to the rock wall of the cliffs. "Oh thank the Elders," he breathes once they reach the top.
A woman in a bear mask walks over. "Who--oh, Chase!"
"Hey Holly." Chase gives her a weak smile.
"Still on your sea legs, I see?" Holly chuckles. "Who're these guys?"
"Visitors. The me from another world is here, too, but he's still on the boat. These are his friends." Chase gestures at them. "Jackieboy, JJ, and Henny."
"Dyakibadh, Dayday, Henni?" Holly shakes her head. "I'll get used to those names eventually." She smiles at them. "Welcome to the Cliffs of Feall, boys."
Henny smiles wide at Holly, “Hello Miss Holly! Thank you for the warm welcome!”
Dr. J wobbles in Jackieboy’s grip and he has to grab the doctor before he falls, “Careful doc- not so fast…”
“I am never going on a boat again…” JJ moans, looking nauseous.
Holly chuckles. "Not a fan of them myself. I'm guessing they're unloading right now. Here, come sit down. We have a central fire up."
It is a bit chilly out here, with the wind from the sea.
“Ah… thank you…” Dr. J breathes, suppressing a shiver from the cold air. Jackieboy also tries not to show he’s cold as they eagerly head towards the fire.
As the first group closes the distance to camp, the rowboats back at the ship set off. Henrik stays on deck for a moment, then quickly joins Bro and the others in the boat, his face very red. Back on deck there's an audible "Oooooo!" like a sitcom laugh track, followed by Vsevna yelling defensively. Henrik's face gets more red.
"Let's not say anything for once," Marvin mutters to Jackie, who nods. Jameson gives Henrik a supportive smile.
Bro looks back at that boat and Henrik’s expression before he grins. But he doesn’t poke fun, just claps Henrik on the shoulder.
"Um... does the rest of the camp know about our... quest?" Chase asks as they walk, Jackieboy and Dr. J just slightly ahead.
"Marvin told everyone. Or, he told some of us and it spread from there. And we've had bags of supplies packed for you all when you return, in case you wanted to head out immediately."
Chase smiles. "Thank you. But I think we'll need some time. And these four are coming with us, too, so we'll need more than whatever you've already packed."
Holly nods. "Got it. I'll tell Ana and her guys."
Henny stays closer to Chase in case he needs help over to the fire- but also to talk more with Holly. “You are all so prepared! But I guess that does make sense since this is an important quest you are going on.”
Holly nods. "Indeed! I've never heard of anything like this happening out of stories."
"Me neither," Chase mutters. "I can't believe King Samuel and the Elder Horned One have gotten together to get me into the Wyldwood."
"It's wild, isn't it? You, from the other worlds, have you learned about our King Samuel?"
Henny blinks, “King Samuel? I do not believe we have heard anything about him yet…” He looks to JJ to confirm. Dr. J shakes his head, then regrets it.
"Oh, I can take it from here," Chase says to Holly. "King Samuel the Green-Eyed was the first King of Glasúil. A long time ago, there were seven clans on the island. Samuel was of the Seipteach clan. He became its leader and then, through both combat and negotiation, he united all the others. The kingdom is called Glasúil because it means 'green eyes' in an older version of our language." He laughs. "And that man's ghost wants to see me."
Dr. J chuckles, “I did wonder where the name Glasuil came from… now I know!”
Henny seems enthralled by the story, “Oh! His ghost is still around?? He must want to help you with that spirit!”
Chase laughs a bit. “I guess so. We didn’t even know he was a ghost until he appeared to Marvin. Maybe this spirit is making such a mess of things that he returned from after life.”
As he explains, the group arrives in the camp. It's bustling, with people rushing about, all of them having a white Phantom mask somewhere on their person. They glance at the swaps as they appear, but dismiss them when they see they have masks as well.
Jackieboy glances at everyone as he helps lead Dr. J in and then grins, flicking the pine marten mask around his neck. “Man- these things are handy~!”
“Only if you don’t have glasses to wear-“ Dr. J mutters, his own dove mask clipped to his belt.
“Well it sure beats all the stares we got when we first got onto the Serpent’s Wake!”
Soon they reach a central fire. Flat stones have been piled up in a low wall around a large fire. A cauldron hands on a spit nearby ready for dinnertime. Chests and boxes serve as seats.
Jackie helps Dr. J to sit down before sitting down next to him on a larger chest. JJ lightly lays his head against him. “My mask is very cute… but yes the glasses do make it tricky…” Henny says with a light frown, fidgeting with his hedgehog mask as he takes a seat by his friends.
Meanwhile, the rest of the rowboats have finally landed. Jackie gets out first, looks at the steep path, and shakes his head. “Even with us leaving some supplies behind, I don’t know how we’re getting everything back up. I don’t know how we got it down in the first place.”
“Very carefully,” Henrik says. “And with some lightening charms.”
Bro looks at the cliff and then scoffs with a sly grin. He looks to the others and points his thumb at himself, "Also before- you didn't have Bro Fantastic to help! This is no big~!"
Jackie laughs. "That's true. If you're able to fly some stuff up the side of the cliffs, that would be great."
"We can carry the stuff we took down in the first place," Marvin says, securing the straps on his bag.
Bro grins wide and give a two fingered salute to the others, "No problem!" He flies off to start grabbing the heavy stuff to fly up to the cliff side.
“Thank you!” Jackie shouts. He turns back to the others. “Everyone else, grab at least one thing.”
Bro grabs as much as he can carry and flies up to the edge of the cliff, looking around to find a good empty place to put them. He’s balancing things a bit precariously in his arms.
“Bro! There!” Jackie gestures to a clear spot—looking like one of those airline workers with the glowing stick. Marvin grabs his focus and prepares a levitation spell to help out Bro.
Bro laughs at the sight of Jackie and then hurries to place the stuff where he pointed. Then, he dives back down to get any more supplies and repeats as many time as they need.
Some time later, everything is up on the top of the cliffs. I can’t wait to see the others, Jameson says. It feels like it’s been forever.
“Let’s go to it, then!” Henrik says cheerfully. Him and Jameson start to make their way up to camp as Bro lands once more by Jackie and Marvin.
"Thank you so much, Bro," Jackie says. "We can bring this all closer later. For now, I want to catch up with the others."
"You know we'll probably be making the others move the supplies," Marvin says. "After all, we were planning on going to the Wyldwood as soon as we can."
"Eh, we'll work something out."
Bro grins and nods, "Yeah- you all have been away for a while huh? I really only remember properly meeting Anna... but i wonder if anyone else remembers me!" He laughs and floats back up, "I'll catch you guys up there!"
Back at camp, Holly begins talking to other Phantoms, asking them to gather more supplies. As she does, a dark-skinned woman with a long-beaked bird mask runs up to the fire. “Hen—! Oh.” She stops, confused, looking between Henny and JJ. “I’m sorry. I thought one of you was someone else.”
Henny jumps slightly as the dark-skinned woman runs up, and Dr. J blinks a bit in surprise. Then, Henny laughs and waves his hand, "It is okay! I am sure seeing me and expecting the other-me would be confusing! I am also Henrik- but you can call me Henny!"
“Hey Nemet!” Chase brightens. “You’re okay! Henrik’s on another row boat, he’ll be so glad to see you! Guys, this is Nemet, she’s one of our doctors.”
“Good to meet you,” she says, smiling.
Dr. J smiles, "Nice to meet you, Nemet."
Jackieboy waves a hand, "Yo~!"
"Hanny--no, Henny," Nemet repeats, giving a small laugh. "I have it. And you two?"
"That's JJ and that's Jackieboy," Chase explains. "Jameson and Jackie from this other world. The other me is here, too."
"Jaijai, Jahkiboh--Jahkiboi." Nemet nods. "Have those, too. I see you have masks already. They're very nice. I think we still have other Chase's, too. Holly?!" She turns back towards her. "It might be in storage!"
Holly shouts back. "Have it!"
"Oh 'cool,' so Bro will have his mask again, soon!" Chase says cheerfully.
Henny claps with a bright smile, "Oh yay! He will be so happy to hear that!"
Jackieboy giggles, "Listening to everyone try to say our names is kinda entertaining-"
"Don't be rude!" Dr. J whispers to Jackie, hitting him slightly. Jackieboy just laughs some more.
Nemet laughs. “It is fine, don’t worry. I speak many languages, I know how silly it can sound to try and say something from one with the sounds of another. Not everyone will be such good spirits, though.”
“We’re extremely lucky we have the opportunity to understand and speak with you all, despite our language barriers,” Dr. J says with a kind smile.
“Yea, that translation spell is really helpful,” Chase agrees.
“Oh, does it work on any language?” Nemet wonders. The guys then perceive her switching languages, but still hear it in English. “Can you understand me right now?”
Dr. J laughs and nods, “Yes! It’s very handy. Alt really did his research. Henny looks thoughtful, “Does it work in reverse for you all? I wonder if you would understand if I spoke German…” he thinks of something to say and then looks to Nemet, “Ich mag deine Maske! Es ist sehr schön. genau wie du bist!” he gives Nemet a little wink after saying this. …which would be lost if it doesn’t translate...
Nemet grins. "Yes, I can understand that!" She laughs a little. "And thank you. This is an ibis, it is a river bird from my home."
"I still wonder if the beak gets in the way," Chase mutters.
"Not enough to change it. And look at your antlers."
"That's fair."
The swaps laugh at this exchange.
Dr. J shakes his head, "I wonder how you're able to walk around with that on... I feel like they would catch on so many things!"
At that moment, there's a shout. Henrik rushes over and immediately tackles Nemet in a hug--an uncharacteristic gesture that shows just how joyful he is. "You're alright! Nemet, you're alright! I cannot believe it! Thank the stars, thank the sun and moon!"
Nemet stumbles backwards from the force of it and then laughs. "Good to see you, Henrik!"
The swaps all jump at Henrik rushing and then look at each other and smile. Henny awws and holds his cheeks.
"Yes, it has been a while," Henrik says, letting go of Nemet. "Last I saw you you were fighting Thalia Tinechroi. I-I was so worried something had happened."
"Well, it was not an easy fight." Nemet shakes her head. "I have some scars from it. But I am glad Holly was around to get me here and help treat the wounds." Is there a little bit of a blush beneath her mask?
Dr. J tilts his head at the bit of blush beneath Nemet's mask. Hm...
And then, Bro is landing by the fire pit, wiping sweat off his brow and grinning at the others, "Hey! What'd I miss?"
”Oh!" Henrik jumps in surprise. "Hello, Bro! Y-you scared me a little, hah."
"Sorry!" Bro laughs timidly, messing with the back of his hair.
"Hello, other Chase," Nemet says.
In the distance, Holly shouts out a greeting and waves at Bro. "Hi!" Chase waves. "You didn't miss much. We were testing the translation spell and its limits."
Hello, Bro, JJ says, who's been standing quietly in the background while Henrik reunites with Nemet.
Bro brightens up as he sees the others greeting him and waves at them, "Hey! uh... what was it...? Oh! Hwaet!"
Henrik, Jameson, and Chase all chuckle hearing Bro say their greeting.
"You're getting very good at that," Chase says, smiling.
"Though it was strange, you were speaking Glasish for a while before you regained your memories," Henrik says. "Wonder why that is."
While we wait for Jackie and Marvin, let's warm up a bit, it's chilly, Jameson says, sitting down on one of the boxes.
"Yes, we should rest a while before we head out again."
Bro blinks in surprise, "I was??" He looks shocked and tries to search through his memories, "...that's so weird...! I was just- racking my brain to try to remember that one but... I-I guess it did come easier to me then I thought it would..."
"I thought the way you and Alt were talking was weird!" Jackieboy says, connecting the dots, "I mean- we still heard it in English but you were all talking so- fancy-like... or something."
"Just like a royal knight in a fairytale," Henny agrees.
Bro frowns at this and goes to sit by the fire, "Hm... I guess... that has to do with the TRVLR messing with my memories too then...? I mean... if I believed I was from here... I'd have to speak the language too...?" He laughs bitterly, "But now I... I don't think I could speak Glasish if I wanted to..."
Dr. J hums, "Maybe it had something to do with Alt's magic from the translation spell too...? But- I wouldn't know... magic is already strange to me and this whole situation just makes it all the more confusing."
"You're telling me..." Bro mutters with another bitter laugh.
The world is confusing, Jameson agrees. Let alone all the collections of other worlds as well. But Marvin knows a lot about magic, maybe he has some ideas? Let's wait for him.
Not long after, Marvin and Jackie appear. The others, except Bro, all look up and smile at Jackie and Marvin's return. Bro is staring at the fire, lost in thought.
"Nemet!" Jackie gasps. "Hey!" He drops the bag he's carrying and rushes over, giving her a side hug.
"Nemet!" Marvin gives an uncharacteristic smile. "They were worried about you! I was too, of course, but I didn't see what happened--"
Nemet laughs. "I will explain later. The others have questions about magic."
"Yea, do you remember how Bro and Alt were speaking Glasish before?" Chase says. "Why do you think that is?"
Marvin frowns. "It could be that when Magnificent attacked them the magic from whatever translation spell they're using got mixed up in the magic suppressing their memories. Or maybe when they appeared with no memories, the world's magic flowed in to fill in the empty spots. Or maybe it's something we can't know about, something from the other worlds."
Bro comes back from his thoughts when he hears his name and listens to Marvin's explanation. He shrugs, "... yeah... Any of those makes sense..." He sighs and rubs the back of his neck before laughing quietly, but its a sad laugh. "... I don't know why cuz I won't like... use it regularly but... I'm bummed that I can't still speak it... I barely even remember being able to!"
"Well- it seems to remember some words..." Dr. J says gently, "That's something."
Bro chuckles and nods, "Yeah I do... there's Hwaet- which is like hey- um... dia duhai- means good day, and Duhai is just hello... anddd-"
For a second, Bro seems to stiffen, the slightest flicker of green in his eyes as he whispers, "...mu Rith-"
The guys from this world all stiffen in unison.
"That's, um... not a phrase most people use..." Marvin says slowly.
"It's pretty much only used by those serving the crown in some way," Jackie mutters. "When I was a royal warrior everyone referred to the King by that."
I suppose he would have made sure that stuck, Jameson says slowly.
The swaps also stiffen, looking at Bro with apprehension.
Bro, for a second, is unresponsive, a dazed look in his eyes. Then, he shakes it off and holds his head, suddenly feeling dizzy. "...he... he also called us... a-a klaíoh.... my knight..."
"Chase..." Jackieboy says quietly, slowly going to put his hand on his friend's shoulder.
Bro jolts a bit at first but then he seems to relax and come back to himself, gently putting his hand on top of Jackie's. He gives him a weak smile, "I-I'm okay... sorry..."
"W-well, um, we can teach you guys some new words in addition to that!" Chase hurriedly says. "Like, um--I'm not sure if the translation will pick this up, but I think intent matters--like, um, 'friend' is 'kara.' A-and 'brother' is 'deathár' but 'sister' is 'deirthúr' and 'sibling' is 'daefor' and '[sibling]' is 'deifára'--they all sound kind of similar so it's hard..."
Bro smiles at Chase trying to teach them new words, looking grateful. "...t-thanks Chase..."
Henny brightens, "Kara...! We are all Kara! I like that word very much!"
Jackie laughs a little. "Y-yes, we're all 'kara'--or 'kairde', to use the plural."
"Ka-ir-de!" Henny tries out, beaming. "We are all Kairde!"
Jackie’s smile fades a bit as he looks at Bro. "Don't worry, It's probably hard to shake off. And... you want to know something interesting? Warriors in squads together sometimes call each other 'klaídafár.'"
"Sword sibling," Henrik mutters, translating.
"It's not something that us Phantoms often do, since not all of us are warriors," Jackie continues. "But... I think you and Alt could be our klaídafárea. If that helps at all."
Bro looks up at Jackie and actually feels slight tears brimming in his eyes. He smiles, touched, as he grips over his heart. "...klaídafárea... y-yeah..." He chokes a bit and hides his face, "...i... I really like that, Jackie... thank you..."
Jackie smiles. He reaches over to give Bro a side hug. “Not a problem.” Bro leans into Jackie's hug and smiles, wiping at his face.
“Speaking of Alt, when are we leaving to find him?” Chase asks.
Bro's expression falls to something serious as his eyes shine with blue light. "As soon as possible."
The other swaps exchange looks but then they nod. "We shouldn't delay if we can help it... who knows what Magnificent has done to him by now..." Dr. J says quietly.
“We have supplies ready for you,” Nemet says.
Jackie nods, eyes shining with determination. "Alright, then. Nemet, where are those supplies?"
"Anna has them outside the storage tent," she says, pointing. "Holly also asked to see if Bro's mask was in there, so if it is, he will be able to grab it then. I hope we packed enough."
Bro lights up slightly at the mention of his mask, "Y-You guys still have it?" He looks touched again and he smiles, getting to his feet.
"We need lots of food and water, that's the most important thing," Marvin says. "The plants growing in the Wyldwood aren't all safe to eat. Then we need weapons, and then anything that you think might help with magical creatures."
Jackieboy comes up besides him and knocks his shoulder and grins at him. "We'll be able to put all our training to test, huh?"
"Yeah I guess so," Bro chuckles.
Nemet nods. "You all should go check it, then. To be sure."
Chase takes a deep breath. "Let's go, then." He stands up and starts walking in that direction. The others quickly follow. Henny helps Dr. J up, but the good doctor seems to have recovered. He smiles warmly at his friend. Then, all the swaps follow after the others to storage.
They do, indeed, still have Bro’s mask. “Here you go, other me,” Chase says, handing it to him.”
Bro smiles wide at seeing the mask and takes it gently, swiping his finger over the surface. Then, he puts it on, wearing it proudly.
"You look just like Sahne, Chase!!" Henny gasps in delight.
The others laugh.
“Alright, there’s a bag for everyone, it looks like,” Jackie says, picking up one of them. “Marvin, any advice on how to carry them? Is it okay to keep everything in the bag or will we need easy access to anything?”
The swaps grab their weapons, Henny and Dr. J grab bows, Jackie grabs a knife and Bro grabs a sword and a bow, just in case.
Marvin pauses, thinking. “Weapons should be in easy reach. So you might want to keep your other sword on your hip instead of back. No need to hang the lanterns on the outside like usual, it’s always light enough to see in there, even during night. Keep flasks in easy reach for if you get thirsty. Though you probably won’t. I didn’t, only hungry, but that could have been some magic thing. Other than all that, up to you.”
Where are we going again? Jameson asks. The direction?
“That way.” Henrik points. “It’s a short walk to a normal forest, then through that for two hours before we reach the border. Supposedly. Few have gone there.”
“Guess we’ll join the few, then.” Chase pulls on his bag. “Let’s go.”
◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈
The two hours pass as Henrik said it would. They reach the forest quickly. It’s normal and gloomy, with the faint sound of birdsong and animals rustling through the leaves. But that slowly fades over the course of the next couple hours. And up ahead, there’s a faint glow through the trees.
Bro looks around cautiously as the birdsong fades, "...why is it so... quiet?"
"Look! There is glowys up ahead! I do not think it is our firebug friends?" Henny says, pointing.
"That's the Wyldwood," Marvin confirms in answer to both Bro and Henny's reactions. "Normal animals tend to avoid it, so you won't hear any sounds of them nearby. And there are so many glowing things in the Wyldwood. Plants, usually. Or bugs."
Chase swallows a nervous lump in his throat. "Let's hurry up then."
It's strange how solid of a border there is between the normal forest and the Wyldwood. Like an invisible wall is dividing them. Soon the guys come across a solid line where the regular grass and underbrush stops, replaced by waist-high ferns. Bell-shaped yellow flowers give off an interior glow and red mushrooms, fitting the white-spotted stereotype, also help light up the area. The trees are somehow more... swirly, bending and twisting in exaggerated shapes. Their bark resembles aspen trees, but the saturation is brought up so the white bark is whiter and the dark stripes are darker.
Bro gapes at the sight of the forest as they reach the border. “woahhh… this place is insane looking-“
“But it’s also so pretty!” Henny laughs, looking at all the glowing flowers and mushrooms.
“Looks can be deceiving…” Dr. J mutters, holding his bag and shuffling nervously.
“Welp- can’t find out much just- standing here.” Jackieboy says, cracking his neck- and he tries to cross into the border between the forests.
Jackieboy is able to step over the line without any issue. And with him going first, everyone else follows.
"Try not to investigate anything too strange," Marvin says, eyes darting around. "You don't know what it could be."
Draco walks around his ankles and strides confidently forward into the woods.
"Yea, yea," Marvin mutters, following him.
"Do we know where we are going?" Henrik asks.
Marvin's eyes narrow as he stares through the forest. "I think forward. I think we follow Draco until I begin to recognize stuff. But again, we're not just looking for that blasted heath King Sam showed me. We're looking for Alt, too. And I don't know where he could be."
Around them, the forest rustles, leaves moving despite the lack of wind.
Bro nods, scanning the area as he keeps his hand on the hilt of his sword. "Could we use our bracelets...?"
"No... Magnificent managed to cut Alt's off when they escaped..." Dr. J sighs.
"Fuck-" Bro bites out, eyes glowing in anger.
"M-Maybe the forest will be nice to us...? Because it must know we are nice... yes? And maybe it will help us!" Henny tries to say hopefully.
"I dunno if a forest cares about moralities, Hen..." Jackie mutters.
Draco circles back around and rubs his face against Henny's legs.
The rustling sound in the forest gets louder, a ripple of leaves coming from the distance towards the group. It seems to be coming from almost straight ahead; there's a slight diagonal to the right.
Jameson laughs silently. I think Henny is right, actually.
Henny brightens and gives the others a big smile. "See!! The forest and magic can also be our 'Kara' too!!"
Jackieboy blinks then chuckles, "Well I'll be-"
"This forest has a mind of its own, and it wants us here," Marvin says. "We just have to worry about all the things in the forest."
"Like what?" Henrik asks.
"Probably all the creatures from the stories," Chase says. "Kelpies, banshees, dullahans, pookas, dearg due--not to mention any Fair Folk who might have stayed behind. Oo, have you guys heard the story of Lasta and Caba? It's said that if you see two strange people playing a card game in the woods, you can try to win a prize by joining in. But watch out, because time around you will pass more quickly than time in the game."
Dr. J nervously fidgets with his pocket watch, but seems interested in Chase's story, "Huh... that seems to happen a lot of time in stories- time passing by so fast."
"Wonder if they give out any good prizes," Bro mumbles.
"In the stories the prizes are always minor boons," Chase explains as they want. "Things that you don't think would be helpful, but in the stories they always come in to help at the last moment. Lasta and Caba are a leprechaun and bodacha, so they can be tricky, but they reward you with minor wealth or things like luck and guidance."
"I've never heard of a bodacha before..." Dr. J muses, "But... sounds frightening.
"I thought bodachaed were like the bogeymen," Henrik says slowly. "Haunting you at night."
"They seem scarier than they are," Chase says.
Jackie raises an eyebrow. "My parents told me they had no faces. Is that true?"
Chase hesitates for a bit too long. "Well they have hoods and long hair so it doesn't really matter. The point is they're sort of a 'scare you straight' type of creature, while leprechauns are in it for mischief and fun."
"I've at least heard of Leprechauns...." Bro says.
"How do you know so much about all these different creatures, Chase?" Henny asks with a tilt of his head, "Is that what you like to learn? Like Marvin with his magic? Or Jackie with his- rope swinging?"
"Yeah I don't know what to call it either," Jackieboy laughs.
Chase grins. "I guess so. My parents loved to tell me stories, and so I like to tell them to my kids. I also had a lot of time on my hands while hunting in the woods. Hunting is much more waiting than action. So I... keep note of the stories I hear."
Like the ones about leprechauns? Jameson asks, jerking his head towards Bro's mention about them.
"Among others, yes. Do you have those in your world, too? They're very small Fair Folk, about tthe size of an eight year old. And if you manage to trick them instead of letting them trick you, it's said they reward you with gold that shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow."
"Oh, that's fancy. Our are just on like... cereal boxes and stuff." Jackieboy laughs.
Bro smirks, "My aunts had stories like that. Emmy was deeply Irish- she loved the folklore and telling me and Alt about them. Mostly like... stories about Changelings or... there was a guy with a magic harp I think...? But for leprechauns... I think there was a story about... someone catching one and trying to dig up his treasure but he didn't have a shovel- so he marked the spot on the tree with... something red? And when he returned the next day- every tree had that red thing." He fluffs up the back of his hair and grins bashfully, "It's been a while since I've heard the stories... so- I don't remember them too well..."
"Oh! That actually sounds familiar- I think my mam used to tell us a story like that," Jackieboy grins. Bro and him high five.
Chase's eyes widen and he nods. "Yes! We have a story like that too! The red marks on the trees! My mom told me that one, and I told Quinten. He loved it."
"Whoa, really?" Jackie laughs. "I suppose some things are consistent between worlds."
Bro looks surprised by this but smiles, "Damn- maybe... the magic between our worlds is like- linked somehow- in some ways." Then he makes a face before laughing to himself quietly. "ha... I sound like Alt."
As they continue to walk, the Wyldwood dims, but it doesn't fully go dark. Small moths appear, their wings glowing a gentle yellow-green. It's much easier to walk through the Wyldwood than a normal forest since it has no undergrowth, just grass and flowers, and somehow the roots are never in their way.
Henny is enamored by all the moths and flowers and looks around curiously.
The sound of running water comes from up ahead, and Marvin stops, holding up a hand. "I think we should stop here," he says. "I don't think it's a good idea to get too close to water. Things might be there."
"Things as in... creatures?" Dr. J asks quietly.
Jackieboy tilts his head, "...I'm no survivalist- but i thought travelling towards water was like- a good thing. Leads you places... or something- or is that moss?"
"No, you're right, water is... usually a good idea..." Chase looks at Marvin worriedly.
Marvin glances back at the others. "Last time I was here, I saw some sort of... reptilian face in the water. Like a lizard, but this big." He holds his hands about two feet apart from each other. "I don't really want to find that again. It didn't notice me last time, but something like that might notice if there's more of us."
Henrik goes a bit pale. "We can camp here for the night, then," he says, taking off his bag. "One or two of us should keep watch."
"I'll take the first watch, then," Marvin says.
"I'll take a watch," Bro says almost immediately after. "Won't really be able to sleep anyways..."
"Alright- it has been a long day...." Jackieboy yawns, sitting down and putting his bag down too.
Henny looks out at the forest with a concerned look but eventually sighs and starts to settle in.
Dr. J anxiously bounces on his feet, looking around. "It is... safe to camp here... right?"
Marvin looks at Draco. He is making biscuits on a patch of flowers. Then he curls up. "Yes, I think so," Marvin says slowly.
"So we're trusting the cat, then," Jackie mutters.
A cat made of magic, Jameson adds.
"I know, it just seems absurd."
"Animals have very good instincts, actually," Chase says.
Dr. J looks equally skeptical but eventually he's tugged down to sit by Henny and he relents. "I trust Draco!" Henny laughs, "I know our friends back home are very sensitive to danger. Sahne saved me from Magnificent once!"
"Don't worry, Doc, we won't let the scary forest getcha~" Jackieboy grins.
Dr. J makes a face at him.
As they all talk, they sit down on the ground and start getting ready to eat and rest. The earth is surprisingly soft.
Bro smiles lightly before sitting against a tree and watching the surroundings... there had to be some sign of Alt around... right? ... but it was a big forest... he just hopes he's okay.
◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈━◈
The King, Magnificent, and Alt are woken up by the sound of the forest groaning once again. They had been walking through the Wyldwood for a fully day and night. During that walk, they had seen and heard things, mostly things that the King explained were illusions. More fear-causing screams, distant lights, the sound of a party that wouldn't get closer no matter how much they walked in that direction. But no actual creatures. Not since Lasta and Caba. Even so, the forest itself has not given up on occasionally blocking their way with roots or branches.
This morning, as they wake up in a section of the forest with red-barked trees and purple glowing flowers, Magnificent finds a vine wrapped around his ankle.
Magnificent startles awake at the vine wrapping around him and growls, trying to flick a flame at it to get to go away, "Fuck off!"
At Mag's exclamation, Alt startles awake, looking around for danger.
The vine catches quickly and withdraws, flailing, into the ground. Another vine starts to sprout up but Aneirin lunges forward and grabs it, throwing it to the side where it withers and dies. "It's getting desperate," he mutters. "We might have to start taking watches." By which he means Alt will, of course.
Magnificent growls, "Fucking... fine. I'm not letting this shitty ass forest best us."
Alt sinks back to where he was resting, his eyes wanting to shut again. He's so tired... resting doesn't even feel like it helps. But, it won't be long until he's ordered to move again... maybe a few more seconds will help.
Aneirin reaches for the food bag and rummages through it. He takes some bread and meat, then finds the fruit and berries from the day before. Somehow still fresh. "A klaíoh," he says, getting Alt's attention. He throws half the food he took towards him. "Eat. Then we'll head on out."
Alt slowly blinks open his eyes, wincing slightly as he takes in the command. But, he pushes himself up and starts to eat tiredly.
Magnificent walks along the perimeter of their camp, stomping and blasting magic at anything else that tries to sprout, cursing quietly to himself.
Luckily for Magnificent, the forest seems to get the point quickly, and the vines and roots stop appearing. In fact, it seems like the grass and flowers lean a bit away from him. Magnificent snorts at the sight of this, smirking.
Soon, Aneirin stands up. He walks around for a bit, reminding himself of the terrain. "I believe we're out of the foothills," he says. "I've been trying to remember what the Wyldwood looked like around our destination, and I believe the trees were light-colored, thin as a man's arm. Though that last part may be memory's exaggeration." He looks around, taking note of any direction that feels more promising. "What do you think of that way?" He points in a direction where the red bark of the trees seems to pale.
Mag looks towards the King and then studies the landscape. He eventually hums and shrugs, "Seems a good place to start at least- if you remember the trees being lighter."
"A good place to start indeed," Aneirin says. "Come on. Let's go." And he starts off, leading the way.
The trees do get lighter in color, a dusty brown, but their trunks remain wide and their leaves and branches droop downwards. The glowing purple flowers are replaces by bushes of roses that glow in every color imaginable. It's stunning.
Alt dazedly walks behind Mag and the King, just as he's done for the past few days. But, slowly he takes in the gorgeous scene around them and looks around with slight wonder. Magnificent doesn't seem phased, pushing leaves and branches out of his way as they walk.
But as Magnificent steadily pushes past, he hears something. There is a movement in the corner of his vision.
Magnificent stills, glancing quickly towards the movement, magic bright and ready in his hand.
And when he turns towards it, he sees... someone. Is that... Jackie? He looks so young. That's impossible, isn't it? He grins and waves.
Magnificent growls- about ready to shoot first and ask questions later when he pauses. His eyes widen. "...Jackie...?" He breathes. He looks like how he did in their uni days. Before... everything.
Mag isn't quite sure when he started moving but- he's moving towards him. He wants to see him. He starts to run-
Aneirin's head snaps towards him. "Mag--!" he shouts, reaching out. And then he stops. Because there's another figure in the trees. Someone wearing a green cloak with a sword by his side.
Aneirin's face darkens. "You," he growls, and rushes after the figure. It turns and heads off.
Jackie meanwhile, beckons for Magnificent to come closer. Magnificent doesn't understand the feeling in his chest- or why it hurts- or why he feels so desperate. It's a feeling that he hasn't felt in years. But, seeing his friend again... exactly how he remembers him... happy to see him... Magnificent needs to be there- if only for a moment. Pretending everything was different. He reaches out, wanting to pull Jackie closer to him.
Alt looks back, seeing the King and Mag running in opposite directions. His eyes widen as he tries to call out after them, "M-Magnificent! Mu Rith!" He then backs up, shakily putting his hand on his weapon, looking around with frantic eyes.
And yet, when he reaches for his weapon, his hand brushes against leaves. Before he can really process this, the trees move, the trunks themselves bending down as the roots and branches wrap together in a wall blocking Alt from the other two.
Once Alt has realized what has happened he panics and throws himself at the wall, “No!!” He tries to find a way through- but it’s solid. He takes shaky steps back away from the wall and sucks in breath after anxious breath. He- he doesn’t know where to go- he has no one to lead him.
He’s… alone.
And then there's a sound--a chirping sort of call. Something brown swoops right past Alt--feathers just an inch from his face--and lands on the side of the new tree wall, clinging to the vertical surface.
It's a bird.
A swift.
Alt cries out and glitches away from the feathers, landing in a crouched position on the ground like a cat. Alt blinks up and feels his breath leave him The swift…! His eyes flicker with green as he struggles to remember why this bird suddenly felt so important.
And… in its beak is the leafy thing Alt felt near his weapon--the twig he won in that game with the Fair Folk. And then the swift launches off the wall and flies away.
His eyes widen. “H-Hey!” He shouts after it and when it flies off, he quickly goes to follow it, half-glitching, half-running.
The swift is fast, and yet through his glitching he's able to keep up well enough. It helps that there's barely any undergrowth, and the trees are spreading out, though the canopy overhead remains thick with the branches interwoven. The trees get taller, as well, until--between how far the trees are from each other and how high the canopy is above--it almost feels like the Wyldwood is fading away.
And the bird itself... looks different. Is its color changing?
Alt glances at the changing landscape briefly as he follows the swift. He feels like- like he has to follow it. But.,, what was happening to the woods…? And the swift… its colors felt… Trying to think about that drives a heavy spike of pain into his head.
forget forget forget.
He stumbles for a second, having to catch himself on a tree to shake off the pain. Then he panics, bursting to start running again, worried he’s fallen behind.
The ground slopes slightly. The swift moves a bit faster, lightning and squares of harsh light trailing from the ends of its wings.
Alt uses the slope to try to slide down, gaining speed. He sees the swift flying with harsh light and he glitches more to meet its speed, even if spots start to dance in his vision.
And then the trees fall back a bit. The branches still form a ceiling high above, but natural sunlight leaks through holes in the canopy. There's a depression in the ground. In it is an old, gnarled tree with a lattice of roots that crosses over a hole in the earth. The swift flies towards the tree and drops the twig a few feet away from it. Then it circles the trunk a couple times before landing, clinging, on the vertical surface of the trunk. Its colors have definitely shifted, now shades of blue with the tinge of sunset orange and pinks on the edge of its feathers.
As Alt enters the clearing, he winces a bit at the sunlight shining through, so used to the dim light of the woods. Once he’s adjusted he takes in the scene before him. And his breath hitches, his eyes widening.
This is all so familiar...He… he’s seen this be-
More bursts of pain assault his head as he crashes to his knees, crying out. He grips tightly at his head as agony pulses through his mind, his eyes trying to fill with green light.
forget forget forget f o r g e t
The swift cocks it’s head, watching Alt with… well it’s hard to read emotions in its bird face, but it almost seems concerned. It lets out another call, like a beckon for Alt to come closer. The sound is beautiful, cutting through the noise in his head. The swift’s call feels like fresh water against the knight’s burning mind.
The twig is still on the ground. It’s moving slightly down the faint slope towards the tree.
Alt looks up and gasps slightly at the twig moving- he can’t lose that! He shakily pushes himself up and rushes to try to grab the stick. In his desperation he glitches then crashes to the ground right by the lattice of roots, blinking spots and pain back from his eyes.
He can remember the twig was important-
it was for his masters-!
no no- it was his…! He won it!
The twig slides right up to the edge of the roots before Alt can grab it. He winces at the conflicting thoughts in his head, His fingers just touching the twig’s surface.
The moment he does, voices seem to come from it, far away and echoey.
“The arrogance of Hunger has no bounds it seems.”
Alt blinks blearily and looks at the stick with wide eyes, "...Lasta and Caba...?" He whispers.
“Indeed! Did we say that the one holding the twig would be guided? No!”
“No indeed! It was for the young lad, not for anyone else!”
“Did they think they could take a blessing?”
“Seems so!”
“Seems so. Now, where has he reached?”
“Where indeed?” The voices fade away.
Alt feels a sense of warmth from listening to their voices. Then, he senses movement beneath the roots of the tree He pushes to look through, but he shudders as a faint sense of dread flows through him.
And beneath the roots he sees himself. Caught in the middle of a glitch, purple wrapped around his wrists.
Suddenly, memory returns. The dream!
How could he have forgotten?!
Alt’s eyes widen and he almost pushes himself away- until he winces as his mind is cleared.
That dream…! ….The king made him forget it. Why? This… this seemed important.
Alt hardly hesitates this time- he reaches through the roots towards the other him, offering his hand.
His other self reaches up and grasps his hand, looking grateful.
The moment the contact is made, the other Alt disappears, turning into lightning that races up Alt’s arm and into his core. He gasps, the sound soon becoming a yell.
Memories and images flash in his head. Impossibly tall buildings, glowing squares of metal and glass, people who look like those rebels from the boat, a cat, more people—they all feel so familiar. Has he… been here before? Does he know these people?
Why, when Magnificent flashes through his memories, does he feel dread?
Alt curls up, gripping at his heart. His eyes flash with a mixture of colors: green, purple, colored static, green-blue.
Over and over in a confusing array as images flash painfully through his head.
What… are all these things? The- the rebels… they’re similar- but different. They’re so… warm, in these images. Their presence feels comforting.
Why? Why- when he sees Magnificent, his liege- does he feel… fear? Dread? …anger?
He gasps and pants, trembling on the ground as he tries to make sense through the pain.
What… what does all of this mean…?
As he falls to the ground he notices… the tree is gone. So are its roots and the hole in the ground. There is a tree, but it’s not the gnarled black one, just a normal one. Maybe… it was never there in the first place?
But the swift is still there. It clings to the side of the tree, then pushes off and circles around the tree. Lightning trails from its wings and it glows brighter and brighter—until it lands on one of the tree’s branches.
Pushing through the pulsing pain, Alt pushes himself up just enough to see the swift circle the new tree before him. His eyes widen.
it’s not a swift anymore. It’s a larger bird. An eagle, maybe.
<Concern. A warm worry directed at him.>
<Empathy. The knowledge of confusion, the shared feeling of his pain.>
<Reassurance. This is supposed to happen. It will be better soon.>
As those new feelings wash over him, Alt tries to stagger to his feet, approaching the mighty bird. “…who… are you…?” He asks in a quiet voice.
The eagle ruffles it’s feathers. There’s a sound like distant thunder.
<Knowledge. You know already.>
A memory comes to Alt. Conjuring wings of green lightning, his new friends in awe, saying it was like he was blessed by the Winged Elder One themself.
Alt’s eyes for a second flood with white as the memory comes. He stumbles back slightly, “…t-the Winged Elder…!”
<Kinship. Though we are distant, we are the same while you are close.>
<Sadness. Empathy for your loss.>
<Hope. Will this be enough for you to regain what was mistakenly buried?>
Another memory plays in his head, Alt’s own voice echoing angrily- staring down at the terrified face of the his King.
“You and every other fucking Anti out there has hurt me- hurt my friends- hurt my brother… for the last f̶̧̏u̶͙͐c̸͚̽k̶͙͊ì̸̧n̷͍͐g̶͘ TIME!”
Alt gasps again and then shuts his eyes in pain, digging fingers into his hair. These memories are so clear- unlike everything else he can remember. Why?
None of those words made sense…!
The king hasn’t hurt him!
Yes he has! He stole so much from me!
Who’s Anti?
I am! I Chose that name before this one!
who’s his brother?
Chase chase chase!
His brother… betrayed them… didn’t he?
no no no! He’s coming- he’s coming to save me. I know it!
Alt crashes back down to his knees, crying out as his mind burns more and more.
What did he lose? Why… did he need to be saved? His mind still feels so- empty. So lost… like he was. Everything is buzzing, deafening white noise.
The eagle swoops down from the branch and lands in front of him.
Alt struggles to open his flickering eyes as the eagle lands in front of him. It’s all such a strong haze of confusing emotions and feelings he doesn’t even feel shocked at seeing it so close.
Its eyes are the color of storm clouds as it stares up into his.
<Sympathy. A deep sadness that this is happening to him.> It leans closer to him.
<An offer. Tentative comfort.>
Alt stares at it and then at its offer, he shakily reaches out a hand.
The eagle presses its head into his hand. It’s feathers are soft, but also give off this buzzing feeling. Like holding your hand to an old CRT television… whatever that is.
Alt relaxes as the eagle presses its head against his hand. It's so warm... He closes his eyes, a vision forming.
<A group of birds swoops through the sky. Riding the winds, soaring through the clouds, dancing around each other in joy. Each one is different but they are all the same, too. They speak in chirps and calls, a song they all know and join in on.>
<Two of the birds fall suddenly. The wind stops supporting them and then arrows pierce their wings. They are hurtling towards the ground. But immediately the other birds dive after them. There is not a moment where they hesitate. They dive the instant they notice. They seek to reach their falling flock members.>
<One is caught from its fall, the arrow disappearing from its wing. Though it is still hurt, the others support it, and it joins them in the dive towards the last bird. Even as clouds cover the sky, they continue to dive, reaching out.>
<And soon they will catch up. Soon they will dance around their fallen flock member, soon they will remove the arrow. The clouds rumble with lightning but the wind blows them away, just as the wind reaches up to support the hurt bird, to push it back to the flock that dances around it in joy. They will dance together, and ride the wind on to their home.>
Alt feels tears falling down his face as he opens his eyes. He touches his cheek and then studies his hand in slight confusion. He lets out a shuddery breath and whispers, "...my... my friends-"
The images of the not-rebels flood his head again, circling in a dance like the birds.
Henny. Jackie. Jay. Chase.
When his eyes start to flicker and their names seem enveloped by static, he furrows his brow and thinks harder, willing the names to become solid.
Henny. Jackie. Jay. Chase.
Blue-green swirls bright and powerful in his eyes and he chokes on a quiet sob, the relief of remembering overwhelming him.
His flock... His friends. His family.
He looks back towards the eagle and whispers through choked breaths, "m...my friends... a-are they here...?"
The eagle tilts its head. It turns around and does a funny little hop away from Alt before launching itself into the air. It’s a swift again.
<Guidance. A direction to follow.>
It flies into the trees to the left, expertly weaving around them.
Alt watches for a second before shakily pushing himself up. His eyes glow with determination.
He starts to run after it.

Being a Daddy to a special needs kiddo; more reflections on being a Daddy
If you caught our other posts about @squirtdaboi day out with me, the end of the day ended with Riley becoming over stimulated.
We had decided to sleep separately to reduce as much sensory input as possible, something that was challenging for both of us.
The next morning Riley was very little when he woke up, and in a much calmer place, mission success!
Whilst I got him changed from his night nappy we decided that he was going to chill for a couple hours whilst I went to work and he would join me later, ( I recently gave him a few hours in my shop a month).
I went back and got him a few hours later, we had a great afternoon, lots of fun and laughter, lots of banter with my other employee.
Towards the end of the day Riley started to complain that he was very cold, and was sat over the heater. I was so wrapped up in my work that I totally missed the warning signs that he was overwhelmed and over stimulated. To which I'm totally gutted at!
We left, grabbed food for dinner and went home, I sprung into action, started turning down lights, wrapping him in a big blanket, closing doors and putting on the heating.
He snuggled in, put his hood up as I gently rubbed circles on his chest and within minutes he was asleep.
When he woke up a short while later we did a nappy change, and into a jogging suit, added blankers, quilt, Chase, warm bottle of coffee.
We watched movies and talked lots!
He shared some very deep fears and worries, we even discussed him having a drawer for his things at mine (I recently bought him a paw patrol toothbrush and toothpaste). So now there feels like some permanence to our relationship.
He asked for a treat and tbh he deserved one, so I went off to the shop and bought him some jelly babies and kids magazine - seeing his little face light up was just magic!
We ended the night with me giving him a massage that put him into a deeply relaxed state. We got him changed for bed, all snuggly and warm and snuggled in for sleepies!
Being a full time Daddy is one thing, being a full time Daddy to a kiddo with special needs is a whole other ball game!
It's challenging, but ultimately rewarding, deep and fulfilling!
So here's to all the Caregivers that adopt little ones who need a little extra help and aren't phased by it!
We are big legends to these beautiful little ones, and their happy smiley faces light out world up!
Or it certainly does for this Daddy!

Regretavator headcanons: Spud part 2
Sarah has seamlessly slid into the role of helping take care of Spud. Spud is now pretty much attached to her hip and they even just share a bed. In a completely platonic way Spud loves to sleep at the very foot of Sarah's bunk while Sarah herself buries herself under like 6 blankets. This not because Spud struggles to take care of himself it's just that she helps a lot with his trauma and his flashbacks. She does a great job of keeping him grounded and to chase away the nightmares. She's always there to comfort him through flashbacks. That's all she has to do, Spud can cook, drive, walk, run, whatever on his own. Spud just can't be alone with himself anymore after whats happened to him.
Yes he has been kicked off the bed on accident by Sarah a few times. The thudding of his body hitting the floor always wakes her up.
The Two Stud camp was originally created for youth recreation. Youth aged 11 to 17. The camp is still up and running even after Spud's grusom abduction. There's no hiding what happened to Spud but the staff still tries to avoid the conversation about it. The kids are often scared of Spud because of his appearance when they first arrive at the camp but they quickly grow to find him fun. He tends to join in on games or create games to keep the kids entertained. He's still quite silly, goofy, dorky but he's fun. Sometimes teens don't want to immerse in the games and would rather text or just be alone. That's ok, sometimes people just aren't in a good place and he's been a great leaning ear to these teens as well. He's just good to vent to.
He meditates. He goes through breathing exercises and just blanks his mind for about 30 minutes every other day
He's slow sitting down. He lowers one side onto his elbow then lowers to the other elbow then just plops his torso down after that with a dad groan. He relaxes his shoulders to and sighs.
Spud has taken Sarah on the elevator with him before. Of course who's the first person she meets?.....Bive. Bive scared her and Unpleasant made her cling to Spud out of discomfort.
He still has the same voice and pitch as he did before his abduction but He does have a lisp now. The shape of his mouth and the sharp teeth inside cause the lisp.
He has regular doctors appointments to check up on his status. His GP is super cool and loves talking with Spud about all sorts of things. It was difficult but Spud's GP knows about what's happened that caused Spud's appearance.
He can now move his eyes in their own independent directions. His eyes are not exactly in tune with each other and can look and move in different directions like a chameleon.
He has a nasty habit of popping his knuckles and his neck. His knuckles pop the loudest sense he uses his hands to walk and it puts strain on the joints.
He does drink, he's an adult after all. He once ended up getting so drunk at one point he couldn't walk back to the cabins without falling over so someone had to carry him. Yea he woke up grouchy and debridden with a nasty hangover. He shut the bathroom door in someone's face when they went to check on him while he was throwing up.
He likes to gamble and bet money. He's really good at cards to, his poker face is amazing. He's pretty good at limiting himself but he has blown a good amount of money in the past when he let it slip him.
Spud and Party Noob have regular contact. Spud is not a fan of Party Noob's parties and does not attend them but they do have nights where Party Noob will have a small gathering at their place to have some drinks and play some poker or board games. Split and DrRETRO are often in attendance in these gatherings. Sarah has been to a couple with Spud. The strange creatures freak her out but she became fast friends with Split and has her phone number.
He gets nasty when he's angry or gouchy. He can get grouchy pretty easily. It's cannon he has some anger issues. He doesn't exactly scream/yell, but rather gets snippy with people. There are times were he’s thrown things or hit objects. He’s swatted at people before but never more than open hands swats or nudges/shoves with his shoulders
His memory is bad. He often forgets things or people he hasn't known long.
He's mildly allergic to nuts. He gets hives and it gets a bit hard to breathe.
He loves this one game console thats a lot like a Switch. He doesn't have one of his own but one of the other staff members has one and lets him borrow it. It’s a bit shocking to know someone so sweet plays some pretty violent games. He likes the games like GTA or fighting games where he can just beat the devil out of digital people, he does play them on mute though.
Car rides cause him to fall asleep. He just zaps out after about 20 minutes. His blinking gets slower and slower until his head starts to slump and bam, he’s asleep. When he’s out, he’s OUT and drools on himself. He's always fallen asleep in cars.

Movie!au Christmas headcannons
Movie!Ninjago Christmas and New Years with the Montgomery-Garmadon family headcannons!!
Montgomery-Garmadon Christmases are HUGE
Everyone gathers at Koko’s parents for a week and even though it’s a massive house, people end up sharing with like three other people in one room
Wu, Morro and Tay are invited because Grandma Montgomery is a huge mama bear and everyone is welcome
Lord G is invited once he redeems himself lol
Lloyd ends up sharing a room with Morro and his 8 year old twin cousins because Koko has like five siblings and they all pumped out kids like it was a hobby
Tay sharing with Koko and Lloyd’s two aunts, and she’s super uncomfortable at first but they include her in the their sibling traditions.
Taylor sucks at baking but they’re impressed by her cooking skills. They also realise how terrible she is at buying Christmas gifts because she always used to only spend Christmas with Skylor, but they end up showing her how to buy and wrap presents (especially for Lloyd)
Lloyd interacting with his younger cousins ^^
Putting Christmas decorations up are always a job for the uncles and dads, except Lloyd, Morro and a couple of his other older cousins are recruited and one of them always ends up falling out of a tree putting up Christmas lights
GINGERBREAD HOUSE COMPETITIONS
One of Lloyd’s uncles and his wife always win because they own a bakery and it drives Taylor insane
Always getting asked by great aunts and aunts and wives of uncles if they’re dating and it’s awkward until one year they shrug it off and say yes. No one believes them until they kiss under the mistletoe
Great Nana Mary (the mother of Lloyd’s grandfather on Koko’s side) hides mistletoe everywhere and Taylor would avoid walking with anyone else, especially Lloyd, underneath it
Taylor spending her birthday driving down with Koko, Wu, Lloyd and Morro for the first time and not expecting anything from anyone
getting surprised by Lloyd’s extended family with a cake and a necklace from Lloyd which she wears every Christmas (and a lot more than she admits)
One year when they’re older, one of Lloyd’s uncles and his family go on holiday and Grandma Montgomery assigns a room to Taylor and Lloyd
“don’t have too much fun” and a wiggle of her eye brows
they end up binging Starfarer
DINNER OMG
The first year Tay goes, they’re still considered children and they realise how much the team reminds them of Lloyd’s cousins and second cousins
FAMILY GAME NIGHT OMG
everyone teaming up to play monopoly after the kids go to bed. Taylor doesn’t understand the game but Lloyd picks her everytime and she enjoys watching Lloyd interact with his family
Playing in the snow!!!
Building snow men!!
Lloyd teaching her how to build them and how his uncles would always steal his snow balls
FAMILY SNOW BALL FIGHT!! The strongest teams are guys vs gals
the guys only win because they tackle their wives and children into defeat
lloyd has done this once to Taylor and it didn’t work because she kicked him in the stomach
DOOZING BY THE FIREPLACE?!? Taylor snuggled against (or on, it depends on the year and the day) Lloyd, regardless of whether they’re together or not, on the floor nestled within blankets and pillows, and a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows
ROASTING MARSHMELLOWS IN THE BACKYARD
Lloyd’s younger cousins going nuts from the sugar and Taylor watching him chase them around to wear them down
she eventually joins in after a couple years after chasing four year old Lara who is a massive fan of the ninja
specifically the green ninja
but purple is her favourite colour
only Taylor knows that
family uno that shouldn’t take three hours but does anyway
Taylor being included in secret Santa by her second year attending and she cried when she got the text
Taylor joining in with the women as they’re cooking and baking
Taylor noticing how the older girls are cooking with their mothers and how close they all are
she realises how deep womanhood runs through this family and wishes she had this kind of relationship with her family
Koko notices and practically decides that Taylor is now her daughter
she does this because as much as she loves Lloyd with all her heart, she always wanted to have more children with Garm, especially to have a little girl that could join in with these traditions
the women also go do the last minute shopping and Lloyd and Taylor always get dragged into it by Koko
Taylor deduces that Lloyd is totally considered one of the girls because he loves joining in in everything his mother does
he also secretly loves joining in cooking. Not necessarily the meats or barbecues which his uncles do, but he enjoys baking the desserts and cooking anything else
UGLY SWEATERS!!! Great Nana Mary and Grandma Montgomery spending all of their year knitting Christmas sweaters and it eventually gets divided out onto the aunts and wives
Taylor gets one too and she almost cried
singing Christmas songs!!
KARAOKE
They slay in All I Want For Christmas and they practice leading up to Christmas
Boxing Day where everyone’s a little hungover, a little cold so they watch movies and entertain the children with their new toys
Spending the days between Christmas and new years eating left overs and binging movies
they do go ice skating every year at a lake behind the house
Taylor had no idea how to skate and Lloyd had to teach her
she did get a whole lot of help from the others
Family hockey games!!!
Koko was an ex-hockey player and all of her siblings used to play so every year they have a competition
Taylor never plays and always cheers Lloyd on when he does
New Year’s Fireworks!
