hand over some varian headcanons to me and the rest of tumblr dot com
OK SO, gonna be a mix of canon and modern au
disclaimer i have so many varian Thoughts but they're all so mixed up so pardon the disjointedness of it all
varian has a big sweet tooth. he's got a weakness for little treats and when he goes off on his adventure he's trying so hard to be a Responsible Adult and eat well balanced meals but sometimes there's a lil voice in his head going "...cupcakes could be dinner."
hugo knows of this weakness and exploits it, constantly. He'll piss varian off just a bit too much and then later that day he's like "oh? what's this? rock candy i made myself with my own alchemy equipment? dyed it blue too, wow, imagine that."
varian hates this bc he KNOWS what hugo is trying to do, he's aware that it's a bribe, and part of him is going 'candy is NOT an apology' meanwhile the other part of him is going 'but he made it himself. with his own stuff. and he made it blue, he wouldn't put that much work into something unless he was actually a little bit sorry deep down, right?'
just becomes a thing that they do later in their relationship where hugo will still make him a lil sweet if he makes him mad or annoyed
his favourite sweet though is candied rose petals
varian doesn't like the crusts on sandwiches. especially sour dough, too tough and chewy.
doesn't want to admit that though so he'll usually eat them anyways. or give them to ruddiger bc he hates wasting food
bites his hands a lot. chews on his knuckles, he's given himself a few scars like that. the gloves are there to protect his hands from himself as much as they are to protect him from fire hazards
OK SILLY GOOFY HEADCANON BUT MODERN VARIAN LOVES FNAF OK LISTEN LISTEN TO ME HIS FAVOURITE ANIMATRONIC IS CHICA, HE WOULD GET OBSESSED WITH THE LORE, PROBABLY MAKES SOME PROTOTYPES OF THE ANIMATRONICS BEFORE SOMEONE IS LIKE "hm. don't like that. don't care for this."
modern varian doesn't really dress that different from canon tbh. he likes the way vest make his chest flatter, sometimes he doesn't even have to wear a binder
he gets bullied for this during his younger teen years but then when he goes off to college no one gives a shit, ppl either think it's kind of cool or they mind their business. everyone is showing up to class in their pajamas anyways, no one cares about the one dude with custom cufflinks and arm bands.
god speaking of binders and shit i have so many thoughts about varian's relationship with gender (modern and canon) and especially with him going on t so if anyone wants to hear that mess lmk but the quick version is that he's nervous about it bc even if he has some dysphoria he's also Ok with how he looks and he's scared about it being such a big step for him
never gets top surgery (i do like drawing him with top surgery scars sometimes so awijf I Contradict Myself Constantly)
he's really good at bowling. just, for no reason. he's a fantastic bowler, if he were to actually try he could get perfect games every time.
He Hates Bowling.

Hai :3 do u have any wacky wild michael hcs
oh do i!
both adult and teen. loser has been on my mind again.
He gets super fucking cold for no reason and blamed it on ghosts until after fnaf 6 where he brought it up as a joke and the ghost kids were like "...none of us did that" and now he's convinced theres a whole extra ghost after him. (it was cc he didnt mean to initially but cassidy thought it was funny)
He talked to the animatronics all the fuckin time. like he just. chatted with them. especially the fnaf 2 ones. charlie had to sit there and watch him talk to actual robots thinking they were kids. they werent and she told him that in fnaf 6 because she found it so fucking funny
clumsy as HELL i know that man was banging his knee in the SL vents and swearing under his breath
teen mike was also clumsy. probably split his lip on concrete all the time as a kid.
he was also the kinda kid to say "nah, check this out!!" and wake up in the hospital
this is a gross one but. he dealt with bugs a lot post scoop (especially. flies. and what comes with them. iykyk). he'd come into work on mondays smelling like a can of bug repellant. you wont believe what he showers with instead of water.
He was williams least favorite but they had a weird relationship between him moving out and elizabeths death. like some days william despised him and michael just wanted to blow them both up with his mind and some days he comes home like "Hey mike whats up want some pizza for dinner tonight?" and michaels like "fuck yeah why not."
he's henrys favorite afton as a teen and he knows it. and he uses it. Henry fuckin loved that kid he had the man wrapped around his finger. William also notices it and he gets mad at henry over it.
in relation to that, henry was really gentle with michael which was. not helpful im sorry 😭
mike sleeps pretty casually. hes not a light sleeper but not a deep sleeper. unless hes tired. if he hasnt been getting enough sleep youll know because he sleeps like a ROCK.
he fucking loves italian food. for no reason. he just does
he unironically eats beans on toast. He tried it as a joke and then just. never stopped.
he still has his foxy mask it just doesnt fit him. he tries it on again and it hurts his head
cannot afford to go out to eat often and GOD does he complain about it. he is SO FUCKING LOUD when he complains about it. he wants his takeout man
Loves animals but they hate him. A crow tried to take a bite out of him post scoop once nad he had to fight for his life. bro saw his family for a moment there
he is so polite most of the time but if you talk to him after his shift he'll fuck you up. rudest bitch on the block and he was an asshole teen so he knows how to run his mouth
he plays solitaire.
does not know about the context but whenever hes depressed he says "tomorrow is another day" because time moves on anyways!!!! also idk i think its neat
he ate shit in the middle of his shift once and bashed his face on one of the counters and his coworker found the blood the next day and managed to start a rumor that someone died there until michael came in to work with his face bandaged up.
these are so rambly but funny so im gonna keep going
skateboards <3 totally tried to show off and ate shit until william told him if he went to the hospital again he'd take the skateboard. he still ate shit. just hid it better.
taught evan to do a lot. If he didnt feel like bullying him (for an array of reasons, but the biggest is just. boredom. or loneliness. or a mix) he'd teach him something just because he could. skipping rocks, flying a kite. michael doesnt remember it very well but evan does
cassidy kicked him in the knee so hard he was limping for an hour and so he found the golden freddy suit and kicked it too at one point. she didnt feel it tho. and jumpscared him out of spite.
he loves dogs and once brought evan to see one because his friends were busy and he hates being alone and the dog bit the shit out of evan. foreshadowing.
oh yeah i totally think he gets lonely btw. do not leave that guy alone he will get very sad and pathetic!!!
im capping myself here because jesus christ.

"Help Wanted 2" Theory About the Player Character
I don't play the games (or any games, really, if we're being completely honest) but I like watching playthroughs and listening to theories, and I had a sudden realization of my own while watching a playthrough. So, without further ado, please join me while I throw spaghetti at the wall and let's see what sticks.
Theory Premise: the player character of "Help Wanted 2", Luis from "FNAF AR", the Bonnie Mask Bully from FNAF 4, and Cassie's dad are all the same character… and is haunting Glamrock Freddy in "Security Breach."
That's a big claim to make, so let me explain. And, since it's also a lot of claims to make simultaneously, let's break that down into smaller, more bite-sized chunks.
Let's start with the easy to swallow ones…
First off: Cassie's dad is the Bonnie Mask bully from "FNAF 4."
If you engage with the FNAF theory space at all, you've definitely seen this idea floating around. The colors of Cassie's model are similar to those of the Bonnie Mask Bully sprite, with blue shorts, a red shirt, and brown skin. Obviously, these are superficial similarities that may or may not mean anything at the end of the day, but they're a good starting point -- especially in a franchise when characters are sometimes visually linked together via color palettes.
Tumblr media
Cassie's dialogue throughout "Ruin" also tell us a few details about her dad, such as him being a technician who works for Fazbear's, Bonnie being his favorite character, and the fact that he was a fan of the Freddy Fazbear's franchise as a child -- so much so that he still has his childhood lunchbox, which is a classic "Freddy and Friends" lunchbox from the 1980s.
"Freddy and Friends" is a in-universe cartoon that we were originally introduced to in "FNAF 4." While it's been used heavily in relation to "Security Breach" and the first "Help Wanted" game, it's still largely associated with "FNAF 4." And, in "FNAF 4," we see the Bonnie Mask Bully as a kid, presumably in his early teens. While not a little kid during this time or anything, he's definitely a kid, and would likely refer to this era of his life as a 'part of his childhood' as he gets older. Also, obviously Bonnie is his favorite character.
Bonnie Mask Bully is shown witnessing the death of a child he bullied while at Fazbear's, and likely harbors some sort of guilt over the incident. He's also shown to be friends with Foxy Mask Bro, who many speculate to be Michael Afton. This means that, in addition to his own mixed feelings about Fazbear's, Bonnie Mask Bully would also see his good buddy Michael grow up in the shadow of the Fazbear's franchise, and may notice when Michael suddenly goes missing to the outside world (which it's implied he does after "Sister Location"). So it's not too much of a stretch to say that, as a grown man, Bonnie Mask Bully ends up working at Fazbear's, the franchise he loved as a kid, the place where he accidentally caused another kid's death, and the franchise that stole one of his friends away. It's a place that means a lot to him, both good and bad, and hey, they're a big business and they're always hiring!
Second: the player character in "Help Wanted 2" is Cassie's dad.
This is also a theory that's gaining some traction throughout the theory space. Primary evidence pointing to this includes:
the player character appears to be a Fazbear's technician who works at the Pizzaplex, like Cassie's dad is. They're adult-sized, they have access to the Pizzaplex, the HandUnit voice recognizes them as someone who belongs there (i.e., an employee), and they have access to a V.A.N.N.I. mask, a FazWrench, and a computer console that we know from "Ruin" are used by the tech and security team at Fazbear's. While there's always the possibility that the player character is just someone who broke into the Pizzaplex and is using stolen tech, the game seems to pretty heavily imply that they are an actual employee in the system.
throughout the various minigames, different animatronic characters ask the player character "What makes you so special?" Sometimes it's said sarcastically and sometimes it's asked like a genuine question, but, either way, it implies that the player character is special in some way, and likely someone the player/audience/fandom is already familiar with.
the player character gets taken deep into the world of "Princess Quest," and goes so deep that they seem to forget who they are for a bit. When shown an image of a Bonnie mask while in this state, the player character says that the mask is familiar to them, implying a strong personal connection to it.
during one of the minigames, an animatronic remarks that the player character "looks like they have kids," and proceeds to heckle them about this supposed child. Since only one animatronic does this and since it's done in a heckling manner, it's hard to tell if it means anything. Is the player character a parent? Are they working on something at Fazbear's when they could be at home, spending time with their kid? Who knows. But, if that's the case, we do know one character who has worked at the Pizzaplex and has a child at home, who he sometimes fails to spend time with.
the main ending of the full game puts a special emphasis on Cassie, and what will happen to her in "Ruin." Why is her presence given such emphasis? Why is she apparently more special to the player character than any of the other human characters? If the player character is Cassie's father, then the emphasis put on her would make sense -- she's his daughter who he wanted to protect and failed to.
Third: the player character in "Help Wanted 2" is Luis from "FNAF AR: Special Delivery"
This one is a little more complicated, and involves us making a stop in "Security Breach" with an unnamed technician. I'll try to explain my reasoning one game at a time.
(And I'mma keep it real, folks: I never played FNAF AR, and my knowledge of what goes on in that game is pretty limited. So this section is largely based off of what I've heard/seen about the game from other people… who may or may not have ever played the game themselves.)
In "FNAF AR," there's a character named Luis, who is a technician who works for Fazbear's and is Vanessa's coworker. He tries to either befriend Vanessa or flirt with her, but fails miserably, getting lightly shot down each time. Eventually, Vanessa starts acting strangely, spending more time chatting with Luis, taking up new hobbies in her spare time and making a fursuit, and typing bizarre questions in internet searches like "how to escape mind control" and "what do you do if you think you killed someone?" (Wording is different but you get the idea.)
Luis becomes aware of Vanessa's new habits and behaviors and grows concerned, and starts asking her more and more questions.
In "Security Breach," it's made clear that the "Princess Quest" arcade games have an affect on Vanessa's mental state, and it's implied that the Glitchtrap virus, having a connection both to her and to the arcade games, among other things, has locked away some of her memories and personality traits inside the "Princess Quest" games. This is largely implied via one of the game's possible endings, where the player (as Gregory) plays and completes all three "Princess Quest" games, and Vanessa is freed from Glitchtrap's control.
But, throughout "Security Breach," there are also several notes left by Pizzaplex employees. And one particular technician expresses interest in the "Princess Quest" games, saying that they want to find, play, and complete all of them, but that "the princess doesn't think this technician is worthy." These notes are written in a strange, almost desperate way, and read a little bit like someone who's been jilted by a potential lover.
The notes Luis sends to and writes about Vanessa are written in a similar manner to the notes left by this nameless technician about the "Princess Quest" games. Since we know the PG games are related to Vanessa's headspace, and we know Luis is Vanessa's coworker who expresses concern about her headspace, and that he works as a technician at Fazbear's, the same job that the mysterious note-leaver has, it's not a stretch to ask if that's Luis who's searching for the PG games in some kind of effort to help his coworker.
Okay, but why would I say that he's also the player character in "Help Wanted 2?" Well, because the main goal of the game is to gain access to "Princess Quest 4," a cabinet that was previously hidden. Gregory never found this particular cabinet and never played it, so, if Vanessa is truly freed from Glitchtrap's influence after Gregory only plays the other three PG games, that means someone else had to have played this fourth game sometime before "Security Breach."
So, our player character for "Help Wanted 2" is a Fazbear's Pizzaplex technician who is trying to access a "Princess Quest" game cabinet, and is so desperate to do so that they're willing to hang out in the ruined basement level of the Pizzaplex and play increasingly dangerous minigames for an extended period of time? Such a long time in fact, that even the animatronics question that they're shirking other responsibilities?
That sounds like our unnamed technician, who in turn sounds like Luis.
So, going off of these tenuous strands of connections, here's what the picture of our character looks like:
His name is Luis. As a child, he was friends with Michael Afton, and spent many long hours at Freddy Fazbear's, and enjoyed wearing a Bonnie mask and watching the "Freddy and Friends" cartoon. As an adult, he ends up working for Fazbear's, becoming a technician and working to bring his childhood favorites to life for a whole new generation, and he has a daughter named Cassie who shares his love for Freddy's. Luis also has a coworker named Vanessa, who he tries to get close to and becomes alarmed when he realizes someone else is manipulating her. Knowing some of the bad things that go down at Fazbear's (and maybe still harboring some guilt about it), Luis decides to help Vanessa in any way he can. He realizes that there's a connection between her, her manipulator, and the "Princess Quest" arcade games, so he decides to sever the connection between them, saving Vanessa; this leads to a lot of long hours of sneaking around the Pizzaplex, and results in him spending more time trying to save Vanessa and spending less time with Cassie. He tells himself that it will all be worth it in the end, and that Cassie will understand, only to lose himself in the game, being haunted by memories that aren't his, and likely being killed by Glitchtrap as it tries to preserve itself.
Hmm… wait. What was that last part? Killed by Glitchtrap in the ruined basement below the Pizzaplex?
And now we've come to the final stretch of this theory: Cassie's dad (Luis) is haunting Glamrock Freddy in "Security Breach."
It's hard to say when exactly "Help Wanted 2" takes place in relation to the other games. We're shown versions of the Pizzaplex rooms and animatronics both before and after the destruction of "Security Breach," and we specifically see Shattered Glamrock Chica, Roxy, and the Music Man when the player character isn't wearing the V.A.N.N.I. mask, implying that those are the true reality around the player character. We also see Eclipse, a character that may only exist after "Ruin," but we also see a version of Roxy that could only exist before "Ruin." Needless to say, it's all very confusing.
However, at least one of the endings of "Help Wanted 2" (the ending where the player character is killed by the Staff 'bots) seems like it had to happen before "Security Breach," so let's place it there in the timeline, just for this thought experiment. Our new pal Luis, aka Cassie's dad, has found a PG arcade game hidden in the basement, and tries to play it in order to save Vanessa. This ends up working to some extent, but also alerts Glitchtrap to his actions, and Glitchtrap sends several Staff 'bots to, ahem, disassemble Luis, and Luis dies in the Pizza Simulator basement, right next to the hole that leads even further down.
Now an untethered spirit, Luis ricochets through the V.A.N.N.I. mask, entering the complex computer system that controls the Pizzaplex, only to ultimately end up in the body of Glamrock Freddy. Since his mind could have been uploaded to the system by the V.A.N.N.I. mask technology, he's not so much a regular ghost as he is a sentient computer code, much like Glitchtrap. And, with Luis taking up so much space on Freddy's hard drive, this could explain why the Glitchtrap virus didn't take hold in Freddy like it did the others -- there simply wasn't enough space for the virus to load.
Luis is at home in Glamrock Freddy, bringing the Dad Energy™️ to the robotic character (assuming that wasn't already programmed in) and potentially affecting Freddy's feelings about Gregory, Vanessa, or Bonnie. Freddy wants desperately to protect Gregory, which could be caused by Luis recognizing Gregory as his daughter's friend. Freddy trusts Vanessa, even when she isn't behaving in a very trustworthy manner, and doesn't see her as a threat, possibly because Luis sees her as his friend and as a victim. Freddy misses Bonnie dearly, which could be affected by Luis' age old love for the character.
(Of course, all of these could simply be traits that were programmed into Freddy. But, for the sake of arguing this theory, let's say Freddy was already programmed with those behaviors in mind, and Luis' presence just amplifies them.)
In the Afton ending of "Security Breach," Gregory takes Glamrock Freddy down into the Pizza Simulator basement of the Pizzaplex. Once there, Freddy says a lot of cryptic things, including "she brought me down here," "I've been here before," and "this is where I found myself… I am not me." (Wording is slightly different, but you get the gist.) Many people have pointed to these voice lines before, citing them as evidence that Freddy is haunted by someone, usually saying that he's haunted by Michael Afton or someone else who died at the end of "FNAF 6." After all, Freddy is talking about "finding himself" and "not being himself" while in the Pizza Simulator, so if he's saying he's possessed by a spirit, it would have to be a spirit who died in the Pizza Simulator, i.e. the cast of "FNAF 6."
But, based on the ending of "Help Wanted 2," they aren't the only ones who died down here. Luis died in the Pizza Simulator, and is just as likely a spirit to be possessing Freddy.
And people have been assuming the line "she brought me down here" related to Vanessa/Vanny, and that she was ordering the Glamrock animatronics to dig to the lower basement levels to get to Afton's remains. But what if the "she" in question isn't Vanessa, but the Princess? Those notes left from our unnamed technician all fanatically refer to the Princess as "she," speaking as if she's someone they've spoken to, who directly told them they aren't worthy of playing her games.
What if Luis approached one of the PG games, only to be turned away from it by Glitchtrap pretending to be the Princess? What if, disguised as the Princess, Glitchtrap sent Luis to the ruined basement levels of the Pizzaplex to play a hidden PG arcade cabinet to "prove his worthiness?" When, in actuality, it was nothing more than a way to stall Luis, preventing him from completing the PG games, and then a trap to kill him?
What if Luis was sent to the basement, lured there with false promises of heroically defeating an evil monster, only to die there, be uploaded into the Fazbear system, find himself possessing Glamrock Freddy, and is now acting as Gregory's protector?
While personally, I still don't think Glamrock Freddy is haunted at all (his character reads like a robust AI to me), I do like the idea of him being haunted by Cassie's dad. It's a very interesting idea and there's a certain amount of evidence suggesting that it's at least possible.
So, there you have it. We know who the player character is in "Help Wanted 2," and it's someone we've known for awhile now, someone who's been with us almost every step of the way since the early days of the franchise.
Or, at least, that's the idea I had. It's not perfect and I'm sure there are holes in it, but I had a series of thoughts and I wanted to toss them out into the Fazbear Theory aether.
