Between (Fred Weasley x Slytherin Reader) - Part 2
PART 1
Synopsis: Y/N Y/L/N never quite understood why all these things always happen to her. Nobody understood why she was put in Slytherin. But in her fifth year at Hogwarts, many things were cleared up. Your parents, your friends and also, that one should not be named, all these things explained the why. Her blood was stained, but she could not disagree more with the philosophies that made it like this. Between blood and love. Y/N had to make a choice.
Warnings: angsty; flirty.
Reader: Female
Words Count: 2.6k
Author's Notes: I'm sorry for taking so long to post this chapter, now I promise I'll try to post a new one every Wednesday. And of course, if you want to be taged in the next chapter, just reblog this! Also, get a little inspiration from The Riot by @ickle-ronniekins, a amazing imagine from a amazing writer.
Finally the vacation was over, Y/N could be one of the few witches from that school who was happy to return to Hogwarts. The girl couldn't stand to spend another day at her home. Her parents had been getting more and more rigid since the Malfoys' visit, what Narcissa said made them think about how they were raising their daughter. And overnight, Y/N was forbidden to talk about her friends who were not pureblood, and along with this rule came some amendments, which included not being able to put pictures of them in her room, or send letters. Family dinners became a must, and at every dinner, there was always a topic about blood responsibilities and how important it was. The girl had been so irritated by her parents' attitudes that even Cedric's death prevented her from starting discussions with them. There were several during the weeks that passed until classes returned.
Y/N will never tidy up her stuff as much as she does now. The girl angrily stuffed her things into the suitcase. The reason was a comment from his cousin about Muggle-borns and how a pureblood wizard could have the courage to marry one. It seemed to Y/N that the frequency of commentary on this sort of thing had increased near her. She put her green scarf inside the suitcase, and then closed it. She had just finished packing all her things, she was ready to leave her home as soon as possible. Only Brownie was missing, her dark brown owl. The girl chose this name because she found the word play between the color of her owl and the food funny, since good, if one thing her owl liked to do was eat. Then Y/N went down the stairs towards the owlery at the bottom of her house, near the greenhouse.
"Where are you going?" Y/N heard her older cousin, Margot, calling. The girl had brown eyes and long, dark blonde hair, all in a very thin and very tall body, and now she was in her seventh year at Hogwarts, Slytherin too. Y/N always thought that her cousin was a bastard daughter of her uncle Hanz. Considering that his uncle had brown hair and his wife, Amelia, was a redhead, but he always preferred not to comment on the matter. "Going to feed the muggles that I hide from you in the basement" Y/N replied sarcastically without even looking at her cousin and went on her way to the owlery. As it was beginning to get dark, any light that was on was easily noticeable, so Y/N couldn't help seeing the stove lights on. The only person who went to that place was Grandma Harriet. And without thinking twice, he changed his course a little and entered the greenhouse. The place had a high rounded glass roof and followed a straight corridor, also made of glass, for at least 20 meters.
- Grandmother? - Y/N asked curiously entering the greenhouse.
- Close to the aconite, honey - A voice came from the bottom of the greenhouse.
Y/N walked to the place where her grandmother kept the aconite. Grandma Harriet was a very superstitious lady, in her granddaughter's opinion, she read The Quibbler a lot. So inside the greenhouse, she had plants to fight any kind of threats, from a huge craving for pumpkin juice, to a dangerous werewolf.
- Grandma, the only werewolf I've ever seen was not exactly what you could call bad people. - Y/N said when the grandmother goes to prune the seedlings of aconite (plant that leaves a tame werewolf).
- Worry is never too much, when will you understand that, Y/N? - Grandma replied without taking her eyes off the plant with a half smile on her face.
Y/N didn't answer anything, just crossed her arms and laughed through her nose.
- You know my love, I noticed that you are more impatient than usual lately - The grandmother said finally looking at her granddaughter.
- Yeah, I believe I am more out of patience than usual - Y/N replied sitting on one of the wooden stools nearby.
- Can you tell me why?
- Isn't it obvious, Grandma? Look how my parents are acting! As if having no muggle in the family makes us better than others! As if muggles were disgusting people! I don't understand, I don't agree, and I'm very, very angry! Damn it, Grandma! One of my best friends was born muggle! - Y/N calmed down and took a breath before speaking. - I'm not like our family, Grandma ... Right? I'm not, right? - She took a deep breath again - I know I'm not, but ... I was put in the Slytherin ... What does that mean?!
Grandma Harriet smiled sweetly, she was, until then, the only Hufflepuff of the family, since the first of her at Hogwarts, when the first Y/L/N was drawn in a house that was not a Slytherin, they practically aborted the girl of the family.
- A very wise man once told me that it is our choices that reveal who we really are, much more than our qualities. You know Y/N, you were drawn in the Slytherin, not because of the blood, but because you are selfish, a little manipulative, you go over everyone to get what you want and you can be quite cold.
- Thank you very much for the part that touches me. - Y/N replied sarcastically.
- Did I say sarcastic? - The two laughed - But you are also ambitious, you are not afraid to take risks, you are a born leader, and we know very well that you have a certain appreciation for breaking the rules. You are not bad, my love, you are by far the most admirable person in this family. You know what your faults are, and knowing that, you choose to go against your own nature, because you know that it is not always the best thing to do. This shows me how amazing you are and you couldn't be in another house.
Y/N couldn't hide the smile that went from ear to ear. That was why Grandma Harriet was the most knowledgeable person in this family.
***
Y/N had been on platform 9 3/4 for a while. She always arrived 20 minutes in advance, she thought it was safer, she didn't want to risk missing the train and not being able to go to school. Then, passing by the station wall, she saw the scene that she loved so much, parents saying goodbye to their children, several owl cages and cats passing by people's legs, first years with sparkles in their eyes. The first year was the part that she liked most of all, it is no wonder that Y/N was a Slytherin monitor. In the sea of black cloaks she managed to spot a short girl with armed hair, she knew exactly who she was. And she didn't think twice before running towards her friend.
- Hermione! - Y/N just screamed out of everyone there.
Hermione looked back to see her friend running with a huge smile on her face. He was happy to see that Y/N had not died during the holidays, as she simply stopped responding to her owls.
- Y/N! Where have you been? Didn't you receive my letters anymore? - Hermione said hugging her friend.
- Oh Mione, you have no idea how things are at home, my parents are still going to kill me smothered - She laughed letting go of her friend.
- Wow, Y/N, is it that bad?
- You have no idea.
The two had continued to talk while searching for the cabin where Harry and Ron were. The boys had come in earlier to get a good cabin. The two found them and sat down together, Y/N on Harry's side and Hermione on Ron's side, facing each other. The trip started as usual, Hermione talking about the new books, Harry very quiet, probably due to the events of last year and Ron? He stuffed himself with chocolate frogs. Y/N was listening to her friend while drinking a pumpkin juice that her grandmother had given her before leaving. It was all very common, until a couple of red-haired boys hurried down the hall and locked themselves in the cabin of the four.
- What is this?! - Ron said very angry because the knocking of the twins on the floor made him drop his chocolates.
- We threw a stink bomb in the cabin of some Slytherin boys - said George.
- And they are not very happy with the result - Completed Fred, now looking at Y/N, well, she was a Slytherin - No offense.
- I'm not offended, most of them deserve it - The girl laughed when she saw 3 huge slytherin boys very angry pass through the corridor.
- You are perfect, you know? - Fred completed smiling at the girl.
"I know," Y/N replied with a wink. Everyone felt something strange in the cabin, and it definitely wasn't the stink of the twins' bomb.
- Did you hear the rumors about the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? - Said Hermione.
- All I know is that the Ministry has been boiling after Dumbledore since ... - George started to say but did not want to be inconvenient with Harry or Y/N.
- Okay, you can tell what happened, everyone already knows the truth - Harry replied George somewhat dryly.
- Well, I heard that the ministry is going to send someone inside to Hogwarts this time. - Hermione concluded.
- I really hope not, Fudge is not what we can call a sensible person, he just denies the facts! - Y/N replied.
- I agree with you, Y/N, but I don't think Dumbledore would let anyone like that in - Ron replied, placing the last chocolate frog inside.
- That is not in his reach, Ron, as much as he is director, he still reports to the Ministry.
Sometimes Y/N was impressed about how much her friend knew. Not that what she said is absurd, but she speaks so naturally ... The girl was left wondering how breakfast conversations should be at her friend's house.
***
The rest of the way was as usual, unfortunately they had to split up when it was time to sit at the tables. Y/N then sat at the Slytherin table, alone, and in less than 5 minutes a blond boy and his entire troupe sat next to Y/N. The selection started, Y/N was happy to receive the new Slytherin students, especially one girl in particular who reminded her very much of herself. She had Y/H/C hair and Y/H/Cut, the only thing that differentiated Y/N from the girl, were the green eyes that the little one had, Y/N's eyes were Y/E/C, pulled from her mother. The two would easily pass for sisters. The ceremony followed, and it turns out that Hermione was right, Dumbledore introduced the new member of the teaching staff, a short, fat lady dressed in pink, who they discovered was Dolores Umbridge. She worked for the Ministry of Magic. Y/N was not much with the woman's face, she had a bad feeling about her.
At the Gryffindor table the feelings were the same, none of Y/N’s friends had liked the new teacher very much. But the thoughts of one of them were a little further away. Fred couldn't stop looking at Y/N, the two had been friends for years, ever since the girl entered Hogwarts, but this year, she had something different, she couldn't explain what it was.
- She will end up thinking that you will curse her if you continue to look at her like that, Fred - said George taking a piece of chicken.
- What? I ... Ah, I can't say, she is different this year, George - He finally answered stopping to face the girl and putting food on his plate.
- Yeah, she’s beautiful.
- Yeah ...She is, but that's not it yet. She looks ... distant. We have to do something, brother.
When dinner was over, Y/N was ready to escort her group of first year students to the common room. Leaving the room and heading towards the dungeons, where the Slytherin common room was located, Y/N was guiding the newcomers when Fred and George stopped her halfway.
- Darling, we have something for you - Fred said with a huge smile on his face.
- I think you will have to deliver me later, I'm kind of busy here - Said the girl pointing to the various little faces in front of her.
- How could I not notice before! George, we are facing customers right here - Fred smiled at the children in front of him.
- You are certain, my dear brother.
That said, the twins made as much propaganda as they could about their magic and different sweets, the children heard in wonder about the sweets that the boys talked about. Y/N has always admired how the twins had this gift, of making anything look enchanted. They spoke with passion.
- And I swear, it leaves you with pears to skip class! - George finished saying while Y/N waited.
- Can I take them to the common room now? - Y/N said impatient, or at least trying to pretend her best impatient face.
- Now ... You can, we'll give you your gift later. - George said. - Come on, Fred?
- Come on, George - Fred replied. - Ah, I almost forgot! - The redhead said and went to Y/N and kissed her on the cheek. - See you tomorrow, love.
Y/N was a little unresponsive, not what she felt when Fred gave her a simple kiss bye. The children giggled and some whispered things that Y/N couldn't understand. After the beautiful propagation of the Weasley twins, the girl finally took the children to the common room, and told them the password. Entering, the girl watched the faces of the children, it was always incredible to see her reaction when she saw that the windows looked out on the lake. He showed her where the female and male dorms were, and finally sat down in front of the fireplace, her job as a prefect was over.
“A lot of mess?” Y/N heard a familiar voice sit beside her on the couch.
- Not as much as I would like. - she replied, looking into Draco's beautiful gray eyes. - But the most beloved twins at this school did their advertising, and now the first year boys are dying to eat the gum that never ends.
Draco frowned, he didn't like the twins.
- I know you don't like them, Draco, but I do, they are amazing and very talented people - The girl continued to say looking at the friend beside her.
- They think Muggles are like us, Y/N! - Draco said impatiently without looking directly at his friend, stood up. - That's not how your parents raised you! You better than anyone should understand this! - The boy said and left his friend very angry and disappeared from view.
Y/N didn't understand, didn't understand why Draco was so submissive to his parents. The fact that the boy didn't argue with them, even when he didn't agree, drove her crazy. But no one, not even Draco Malfoy, spoke to her like that. The girl didn't wait twice and went up to her dorm, probably angrier than her friend. He lay in bed in anger that night. Who does he think he was to speak that way? Spoiled boy ... Fred would never do such a thing. Wait ...Fred? Since when did she compare Draco to Fred?.

Tatooine - Chapter 59
Link to the masterpost. Chapter 58. Chapter 60.
@marie39554 @averruncusho thank you for reading you get a tag
“Wow,” Carth says - and I wouldn’t know it was him if I didn’t know his voice because I can’t tell him apart from Juhani in these robes - “These things are a lot more breathable than I expected.”
“Statement: I have wiped the faces of the Sand People warriors from my memory, Master,” HK tells me.
“The desert will surely bury them for us,” Juhani says.
I finish uploading the map to the enclave into HK’s memory - the robe keeps me from accessing my back pocket and thus my datapad - and then I put the mask on my face. It’s kind of smelly. “Alright, HK,” I say to the droid, “lead the way.”
“Of course, master.” And we follow him.
“You don’t think they’ll find him suspicious, do you?” Carth asks, “I mean, an intact droid?”
“They’ll probably think we salvaged him,” I say, “I’m not worried. I’m a little concerned about the blaster scarring on the robes, but it was either this or robes with missing limbs.”
“Statement: Master, the fact that you are speaking Galactic Basic will surely clue in any Sand People that you are not one of them.”
“Are you trying to tell me to shut up, HK?” I mean, he’s right, but it’s a little funny.
“Retraction: Err, not quite, master. At least, I would put it more politely. Explanation: While I disagree with your efforts to make peace, it is not my place to openly voice my disagreement. You are my master, I am your droid. However, if you wish for your plan to succeed, then my advice is to end all verbal communication for the time being.”
“The droid has a point,” Juhani says.
“Yeah, I know,” I say, and that’s the last thing I say.
HK leads us to a path southeast of the sandcrawler. Surrounded by Sand People. Relax, Rena, relax. Just don’t say a word. You’re one of them. They’re just here to guard. They don’t blink at us - well, figuratively speaking. I have no way of knowing whether they’re literally blinking or not behind the masks. Whatever - they let us pass.
There are mines all over. I can see them, but I have no idea if anyone else can. And I can’t do anything about getting rid of them, that’s not a skill I have, really. Mines aren’t like droids or computers. But I don’t see any Sand People nearby, so I think I can speak if I’m quiet. “HK, keep behind me,” I whisper to the droid, and then I whisper it to Carth and Juhani as well. And silence falls again.
The walk feels agonizingly long. I feel like at any moment, someone is going to realize we aren’t actually Sand People - by something in our walk, our way, our manner - and attack us, and we won’t be able to escape very easily if that happens. We’ll get buried by the desert. And with so much left unsaid. I haven’t actually told Carth that I forgive him. There’s so much we haven’t said to each other. I still don’t know if he’s really a dad or just protective. And Juhani. I barely know a thing about her. She’s beautiful to me. And I know little more than her name.
Wow, Rena, what’s with all the reflection. This… is really not the time for that. Any of that.
A door. Must be the enclave. Guarded by four turrets. That don’t react to us. Whoo, I’m tense. The door to the enclave opens with a pulley, and I pull it open and we all step inside.
Okay, Rena, you’re in, how are we going to do this? What do you have to do? Find Griff for Mission. Find the Jawas for Iziz. Fuck Czerka. Get the information about the Star Map from Iziz. Would it be nice to stop the attacks? Yeah, and that’s why I brought HK. But now that I’m actually in here, I feel I may have bit off more than I can chew. That’s low on my list of priorities right now. If it happens, great. If not, fuck Czerka. I just want to get out of here alive, if only to see if Bastila and Canderous get together. What can I say? I’m a simple girl. Trying to laugh in the face of death.
We walk past a Sand Person and two banthas. No reaction.
Wait.
Double take.
What does he see?
I don’t like that sound. That’s rage. And surprise, probably that we got as far as we did. I don’t know how he knows we’re not Sand People - whether it’s something about the way we hold ourselves, or if the robes aren’t as convincing close up - but that’s hardly relevant right now. I reach for my lightsaber.
“Interjection: One moment…” HK says, and to my surprise the Sand Person stops, too. “I believe I understood that, master.” Thank fuck, Yuka Laka did not lie to me! “It may not have been his intention, but he did actually communicate something.”
“Quickly, say we’re not a threat!”
HK translates, quite effectively and unnervingly imitating the sounds the Sand People make. “Result:” he says, “I believe I have succeeded in confusing him, master. We have shown an interest not common among outsiders.”
Thank God. “Apologize for being here,” I tell him, “Say we want peace.”
HK says as much - those noises really… I don’t like them. “Translation: He is expressing disbelief, but his duty requires that he report to the Chieftain. Extrapolation: It would seem that we are at least worthy of curiosity, for the moment. I would much rather this get bloody, master, but it is your call.”
The guard indicates for us to follow him - that gesture is surprisingly universal - and we do. He leads us to the chieftain’s hall, past several Sand People who, if I had to guess from their body language, are both angry and confused to see us. The Sand People Chieftain feels similarly. The words he says to me are beyond my understanding, but his tone is obvious. He very clearly hates me. Through HK, he “asks” - it’s less of a question, more of a demand - that we remove the robes, and a guard takes them from us. Then the Chieftain speaks again. “Translation: I can translate with some guarantee of accuracy that he is demanding to know why he should let us survive this encounter, master.”
“Tell him we want a peaceful solution,” I say, and HK does. There’s something… repulsive about hearing their language coming out of HK’s droid chassis. Not the language itself, although that does send a chill through me, but the sound: it makes the metal vibrate in such a way that makes my ears hurt, combined with the tinny sound that accompanies even the Basic he utters.
“Translation:” HK says to the Chieftain’s response, “He claims he has no reason to believe you, master. Your kind have tainted this land with machines and uncaring ignorant feet.” Not me personally, but… No, hang on, Rena, don’t go doing a “not all humans”, you came here in a ship. Not like I could’ve walked, but that’s beside the point. I’m as guilty as Czerka, which I hate. “He requires proof of good faith. We must make a contribution to his people that shows we are not a threat. Shall I blast him now, master?”
I sigh at the droid and ignore his request. “What is it they want?”
“Translation: He plans to move his people farther from Anchorhead, but they need to build up stores of water first. He says you must aid him. He wants moisture vaporators from the Czerka. If you deliver them, he will order that his people reduce their attacks on miners.”
“Czerka wants the attacks to stop altogether,” I say, and HK tells him.
“Translation: He says that will never happen, master. Ignorant outsiders continually desecrate their most reverential customs. This will always demand a response... an attitude I can respect. Protocol: From his perspective, a reduction is already a large step. It is doubtful you will get agreement on much more than that.”
“Fair enough,” I say, “Tell him we’ll get his vaporators.”
“Translation: Hmph. He does not believe you, master. We will only be allowed to reenter the enclave when we have the vaporators with us. We are to be escorted outside. He will wait, but he doesn't believe we are coming back.”
Oh, I’ll be back. If only for Griff and the Jawas. As we’re led out, I raise Bastila on comms. “Bastila, it’s Rena. I need you to go to the Czerka office and see about purchasing some moisture vaporators. I’ll meet you there.”
“What do you want with moisture vaporators?” she asks.
“The Sand People want them in exchange for reducing their attacks. The price of peace is apparently water.”
“I will make the purchase then. See you soon.”
Ugh, all the way back to Anchorhead in the sand.

pokemon thoughts idk
DISCLAIMER: this is just an opinion, holy hell those are a thing on the internet steve
so this is just me having collected my thoughts, because uh, i took my own advice and waited for more information - or a response from GF - in regards to decisions made with Pokemon Sword and Shield.
and quick disclaimer numero dos, i don’t doubt that there may very well be a select few people who are taking their outrage way, way, way too far by being toxic/bullying others/sending personal insults or death threats to GF employees on twitter. i’ve watched fandoms from the sidelines long enough to see how crazy they can get, soooo yeah. i. do not. condone. this. nope nope nope if you’re doing that shit please stop because that crosses a ton of lines that should not be crossed, and it’s not how you voice an opinion like a civilized human being. be civil, be reasonable, don’t be a dick. the end.
with that out of the way, on the flip side of that coin? just... getting a bit sick of seeing people with calm and valid criticisms of game freak’s decisions being talked down to/talked over/shot down with screams of “TOXIC/CRYBABY/SO ENTITLED!!!!” because guys, a lot of the criticisms i’ve seen are actually perfectly valid. like, seriously, stop.
and no, i’m not speaking from perfect neutrality here. because no, i don’t agree with the national dex decision. i don’t. because i personally think the reasons we’ve been given - as well as the generic/corporate PR non-response from masuda on the matter - are overall... they leave much to be desired, let’s put it that way.
now, i’m not an expert on technical specs and limitations, admittedly. but i just find it difficult to believe that a console like the Switch, that can run huge games such as Skyrim, Monster Hunter World, and Breath of the Wild (all games that are infinitely more complex when it comes to animation and storage), would have a hard time accommodating every pokemon.
that’s a lot of pokemon, yes, i am aware, but given the simplicity of the overworld as well as the rather limited range of animations for each pokemon? yeah, between a Pokemon game with every pokemon and Skyrim, my money says that Skyrim will still be the much bigger game. by leagues. that’s just my take on it for the ‘technical’ reasons we were given, idk.
and as for ‘balancing the meta’, lmfao. no, i’m not saying Game Freak can’t suddenly care about balance, that’s not what i’m saying at all, game developers can change their approach to certain aspects of their games, no problem. but uh, if balancing meta/competitive was their sole reasoning here, there’s a... very simple solution.
just... make and enforce... rules?
make a rule for VGC that only pokes in the galar pokedex can be used in competitive.
there. i balanced the gen 8 meta and i did it without cutting any pokemon. that was easy, lmao.
with my personal skepticism out of the way, i guess i’ll say that i’m a sentimental dumb with personal reasons for my disappointment, too.
because i have pokes that have been with me for years (lmao it legit makes me laugh to think that some of my treasured pokes are actually older than some children in today’s age), and i’m a bit disappointed that i might not be able to bring them with me to the Galar region. a really good friend of mine that i got back into contact with a while back? after getting him Ultra Moon for a late birthday present, i decided to surprise him with a shiny Treecko i bred to be on his team, because i knew Sceptile was one of his all-time favorite pokemon. he’s in the process of trying to ‘surprise’ me with a shiny (he won’t tell me which one so i can’t say for sure if it’s galar-dex, but still :IIII ) and just... these pokemon that we exchange as gifts to one another mean a lot to both of us, cheesy as that sounds.
so i guess we’re mutually disappointed that we might not be able to bring these little gifts we’ve given each other into the Galar region, where our friendly rivalry would continue.
and yeah, there’s a bit of salt to be had on my end that the kanto starters will likely be in the galar dex, while all the other past-gen starters have a decent chance of just getting shafted. it DOES burn my biscuits, just a little, because if that turns out to be the case, then just... wow. more pandering to gen 1 after they literally just got a pair of Yellow remakes especially for them. okay Game Freak, we get it, you hate everyone else. lmfao. guess i can sit back and just pray that my serperior will be transferable, but ‘eeeey not like anyone actually likes gen 5 mons, amirite. n_n
...my salt kinda derailed my thoughts a little, sorry.
anyway! guys, some pokemon mean a lot to certain people, and that’s just the bottom line. people are allowed to be upset that they can’t bring over pokemon with sentimental value to them, lmao for fuck’s sake. maybe some of those pokemon were on their team while they were playing the game to get through a really difficult time, and that’s why those pokemon mean so much to them. pokemon mean different things to people, and in fact that’s a huge part of what makes pokemon appealing!! there are different pokemon to suit different tastes!! you like big badass dragons, you got it, you like fluffy pink puffballs that use sparkles in battle, you got it, you like living flowers/keychains/machines, you got it, you like lizard or snake children, you got it, you like big fluffy doggos, you got it, you like cats, you got it, you like spoopy ghosts, you got it, the list goes on!
when you cut into that variety that’s been such a big selling point of the series? yeah, just... i don’t know, i don’t see how this isn’t going to hurt Game Freak and, in turn, hurt a franchise that i’ve come to love for a very long time.
i’m not voicing my opinions or disappointment here because i HATE Game Freak or because i’m determined to see nothing but the BAD things about Pokemon. it’s just the opposite! i really love these games and the vibrant, wonderful world they’ve created and how far they’ve come! i love the memories and friends i’ve made with these games! i want the games to be the best they can be, and sometimes... that means tough honesty over blind devotion. and i just can’t pretend that i’m 100% behind Game Freak in everything they do.
tl;dr, screaming “ENTITLED CRYBABY LOL Y’ALL GROWN ASS ADULTS THROWING A TANTRUM OVER A GAAAAAAME LULZ!!!” doesn’t make people who are upset or frustrated “””see the light”””. it just makes you look like an asshole. people are allowed to criticize these games and the decisions that have been made with them, especially if they voice their opinion in a reasonable, civil way that doesn’t harm or invoke harassment on anyone.
and i’m.... pretty disappointed that there are big name pokemon content creators who have apparently been mocking their own audiences for being upset about this. lmao wow, man. yeah, how about no and let people speak their goddamn minds without fear of being ripped apart.
in b4 “but we’re allowed to be supportive of Game Freak and we’re allowed to enjoy these games despite all the naysayers!!!”
being respectful should go
for
both
sides.
so yeah, just speaking my mind for a bit, here. it’s okay to disagree with each other, mang. and hell it’s perfectly 100% okay to disagree with me!! you don’t have to share my disappointment with these decisions, it’s all good, man. you do you and whatever makes you happy, i still wish you the best and hope you have a great day!!
but jesus, lmao just... some folks on BOTH SIDES need to have a little respect.
peace y’all, sylvie out

Well, started Chapter 5 and... this is a LOT to take in.
So we start out with awkwardness between Shuichi and Kaito over the last chapter. Maki can tell there’s awkwardness, but Shuichi lacks the confidence to know what to say.
So one of the new rooms we discover is Kaito’s lab, which is pretty cool. Kaito’s also still dying it seems.
We see a weird new electronic place with a room that houses the Exisals.
We get a tease of Rantaro’s lab... and it’s locked. If someone dies, the lab is locked.
So we only find a file on the Gofer project using Ultimates as its participants and no memory flashlight.
Kaito requests to look in Maki’s lab, and he becomes really insistent on getting out (which we see is because he’s dying). I thought he was maybe planning to kill Kokichi, but as we see later, it’s not the case. Maki’s disappointed we failed to make up though.
Okay holy shit, Shuichi seeing Kaito and Maki together reminds him of him and Kaede. Great job hitting me in the feels, game.
Speaking of Maki, I was able to succeed in two free time events with her (I botched two others lol). So it turns out the group she was hired for was a cult organisation that neither her nor anyone in it, they just were hired to kill people. She also talked about one of her first missions where she had to kill the daughter of some Yakuza guy because she was feared to gain power, and they talk about how she was unfortunately hired to do the job even as she technically did nothing wrong.
So Kaito’s plan wasn’t a killing... but way more befitting of Kaito: he and the others team up to escape and fight Monokuma if necessary. Mysteriously, Kokichi FINALLY appears after being missing for so long, and gives them electric weapons created by Miu to neutralise the obstacles in the escape tunnel. Kaito doesn’t trust him and Maki has a go at him, but eventually they agree they have to take the chance.
So they make it out and... Earth is even more fucked than before. Everyone is dead. :v Kokichi then explains everything: the disaster regarding the meteorites caused a virus that was wiping out humanity. The last survivors of humanity were the 16 students in this game, and the Gofer Project was to send them all into basically an ark to salvage humanity. However... one of the students wanted the project to fail, being part of the cult organisation who believed humankind deserved to die out. And to the surprise of... pretty much nobody, the mastermind behind this killing game is Kokichi Oma.
Honestly Kokichi being the mastermind isn’t that surprising, but the way he reveals himself is pretty dramatic. He just emanates evil. And “the world is mine” is pretty much his admission that since everyone else is dead, he pretty much runs the show now.
I love how he mentions that Kaede had the right idea just to rub their defeat into them. If she was able to get Kokichi instead of Rantaro, they could’ve ended things it seems... though as I’ll say later, I think there’s still more to come.
Kaito tries to fight back, but he’s powerless against the Exisals: Kokichi, being the mastermind, doesn’t need the Monokubs to control them. He’s captured which really upsets Maki, especially as Shuichi is forced to hand over the Exisal shutdown remote to stop Kokichi from killing Kaito.
So a whole lot of nothing for a while, huh? It really does give you a feeling of despair, lol.
Okay so now things get REALLY interesting: as if Kokichi’s bombshell wasn’t enough, a flashback light is left for the remaining students (presumably by Kokichi, which is really suspect). It then finally connects everything to the rest of the series: it recaps the first game and the tragedy, but then it gets deeper.
So basically, Danganronpa 2 and 3 are summarised by explaining the battle between hope and despair raging across the globe (apparently half the world was destroyed). Of course we ended with Danganronpa 3 ending the Remnants of Despair and Hope’s Peak being rebuilt (a story decision I disagree with because Hope’s Peak is fucked up as seen in DR2 but that’s 3′s fault, not V3′s... wow this could get confusing)... but this is where things get interesting. This is how V3 comes into existance.
So basically, we get the threat of the meteorites and the virus they carry that wipes out humanity. Just as we think the Remnants of Despair are over, this apocalyptic event causes a spike in them and they make a massive comeback, overwhelming the Future Foundation. It turns out Makoto Naegi, the remaining Future Foundation members and the revived Hope’s Peak are the ones behind the Gofer Project, and of course the plan to salvage humanity hinged on... literally the only 16 students alive, who just so happened to be immune to the virus. Problem is... these students didn’t want to abandon everything, all their lives and loved ones, so they fled the Gofer Project. They had their memories wiped so they would live normal lives. Problem is... as they were seen as humanity’s salvation, the Remnants of Despair began the Ultimate Hunt to find and eliminate them. This lead to their deaths being faked by the Gofer Protect, and the students then had no choice but to participate.
Then Kokichi brought in Monokuma and fucked it all up, because nobody realised the leader of the Remnants of Despair would be one of the sixteen students (that’s a pretty big oversight, I guess Kokichi was able to outsmart Kirigiri and all the other super geniuses, lol). Monokuma brought the ship to Earth (it sounds like he can work on his own now, tech advancing and all, lol) and this awakened the 16 students from cryosleep... and this is when the killing game in V3 began, apparently centuries after the extinction of humanity. Kokichi really wanted to end humanity in the worst way possible: by having humanity’s survivors kill each other.
So this is a lot to take in... but I still have questions. First of all, we don’t know how Rantaro fits into all of this. Monokuma implies his ultimate talent is a big deal, so it’s definitely going to fit into things somehow. There’s also his really mysterious message, with the words “you wanted this killing game” particularly sticking out. It seems like the “wanting to die with everyone else” refers to the students wanting to stay on Earth, but we still can’t rule out Rantaro’s line.
Okay... so who were the people who kidnapped them at the start? Why did they awaken as their fake identities as normal students? Did cryosleep fuck with their memories? I mean, their memories were obviously wiped relating to the Ultimate Hunt, so maybe some weird mix-up occured, and that’s why the Monokubs had to make them remember their talents.
So Maki stole one of the electric grenades from Kokichi as she threatened him, nice. Also she’s REALLY concerned about Kaito. She totally likes him, Himiko even points out she’s clearly concerned and she gets all flustered. :P They then plan to stage an attack on Kokichi and rescue Kaito, but they have to wait first (even if Maki wants to go in... wow, she’s picking up Kaito’s headstrong recklessness lmao) to recharge the hammers to break into the Exisal room where Kaito is held.
Tsumugi is mentioning Gonta a lot... yeah, I think she has a thing for him :v
Okay, so it’s obvious Kokichi let them see the flashlight connecting everything, so it seems like he’s got a bigger game in mind. He claims to have gotten bored of the killing game, but I feel like he’s not done yet. Also... this supposed big reveal is in Chapter 5 and not 6, so clearly something deeper is going on. Besides Rantaro, we still don’t know why Kokichi has the rule about the game ending when two students are left.
Look even if I’m not a fan of Hope’s Peak being rebuilt I’d love the idea of Kyoko being Shuichi’s mentor. :P And then her and Makoto see Shuichi and Kaede and they’re all “aww they remind me of us when we were younger”. Okay, I bet something will come and ruin this.
I’m not sure who’s gonna die at this point. It will either be Kokichi, Kaito or Maki at how this is going. Guess I’m gonna need to keep playing, heh.

My thoughts on Episode 16
Just my thoughts about last weeks episode - it’s kind of a writing while watching piece so my apologies: - Betty freaking out about Chic not having Blossom blood - Hal isn’t his father. I don’t think it’s FP either. I’m surprised Betty didn’t figure that one out quicker. - What was up with Hal interviewing Hermione. - I hate Veronica right now. She’s disappointing me so very much. I honestly thought that way back when this started, that Veronica was going to secretly bring her parents down because she disagreed with them. Disappointed to see that’s not the case at all. She’s quickly reverting back to her NYC ways. - The Lodges donating revenue to riverside high? Seriously? I find that very hard to believe. - Veronica and Hermione sound as fake during that interview as Hal did introducing Andy Cohen. I’m fine with those cheesy bits but PLEASE stop making them so painful! Almost as bad as the Bughead/Vughead piece in the hot tub. - Kevin taking photos with Andy was the only thing believable on that scene. - Andy Chohen is a celebrity endorsement - wow. I’m sure you could have found someone better Hermione... - Archie is an idiot. Just putting that out that. He has continually made bad decisions all season and is now, officially, worse than Jughead earlier in the season. - Did no one notice the Veronica/Archie looks at lunch? Thank you Jughead for actually speaking up. Glad someone is willing to voice their honest opinions and not support the crap! - Ethel throwing a milkshake on Veronica - priceless. What a way to bring your character back into the series! - Josie snickering next to kevin - she is my hero. I did the same exact thing watching that scene! - Betty doesn’t seem completely believable when she’s listening to/watching Veronica clean up. - Wow Reggie is still here? Haven’t seen him in ages! - Betty totally rubbing off on Veronica with that punch. Justified and glad to see Veronica’s perfect composure breaking a little bit. - I hate Penelope. I hate her as a parent and as a person. She’s just horrid. - Claudius is totally Clifford. I’m calling it now. I think the body hanging was Claudius and this was their plan all along. Why else would he be working with her to remove everyone else?
- Is Penelope still sleeping with people now that Claudius/Clifford is back?
-Wow. Dad “no no no, we tell you what to do. Before your head gets cut off.“
- Jughead’s reaction to Veronica running is priceless. I love him. - Betty, you need to not say who people are going to vote for. Obviously Jughead isn’t voting for her. - Jughead’s face when Veronica asks Betty to run with her. Priceless when paused. - Toni’s dance. Surprised but also not, that she’d go for the team now that she and Cheryl are a thing. Very reminiscent of the Cheryl/Veronica dance off Season 1. - Inner circle vixens. Nice Cheryl. I also don’t remember there being that many of them in the past. - Glad Fred is getting out while he still can. Smart man. - Archie is such an idiot. How can he not tell he’s being used. I know he’s 16 but seriously? Is he that dumb? And he and Veronica are such shitty friends. - How can Archie forget that Jughead was raised in and still lives in the south side. Of course he cares - even if he only went there for “4 minutes.” He went there long enough to break up with Betty several times over! - Jugheads story about the two trains - once again foreshadowing - just like in the woods. - Why do the girls all look bored brushing one another’s hair? Such a freaking weird scene. - “Inner circle, cousin Betty.” Damn girl. Way to be harsh! - Toni is TT now? - Betty sharing her story was weird - almost as weird as Cheryl. - And so none of the girls think it’s weird that only Toni is sleeping in Cheryl’s bed while they are all relegated to the floor?? - Nana Rose falling down the stairs like it’s a VC Andrews novel. - Does Mary always show up at her ex’s house unannounced?? Do they always decide not to tell Archie so he can be surprised like a little kid? Also, she’s staying there? Fred looks a little too happy and we know she moved on before he did. That could mean something down the line. - Thank you Mary for calling your son out for disrespecting his dad. - How is that kiss and cupcake allowed? Esp at school? Come on Whetherbee! - Thank you Ethel for calling Veronica out for specializing the election. So loving Ethel this episode!! She’s my spirit animal right now! Glad the serpents are still having their meetings. I’ve missed Fangs and Sweet Pea. - Thank God Mary is being a voice of reason!! - Chic and Kevin are so gross. Not a fan of that pairing. I want Kevin with Fangs.. Fingers crossed a connection happens during Carrie! - Betty and Chic together are so creepy together. Not a fan of her threats either. I get the reason why but she’s acting like a lunatic. - Josie selling herself for a vote. Ugh. - Is Archie Hiram’s new go to guy? Again, he’s 16!! - Jughead and the boys chaining themselves to south side. Sweet gesture and I like the non-violent part of it. - Not sure how I feel about the “who is crazier” game she’s playing with chic. A lot too weird. Not liking the death threat. - They would be more wet in this rain. Glad the parents are there to watch over them. - Singing about women’s rights. Wow. Riverdale... you never cease to amaze me! - Veronica asking where Ethel got the info? Hello guilty. And then “I told you we were making amends” um... that’s not how that works. Way to call her on her bribe Ethel! - Glad Betty is finally calling her out. You should have stopped trusting her after she put your sex life out there for Archie!!! - You are a criminal when you are supporting your criminal parents. - I’m in love with the FP/jughead relationship now. They’ve grown so much. - Archie is so far up Hiram’s ass he can’t even see his friends and fathers feelings. Go Mary! Tell your spoiled son off. - Glad Alice asked if they were being safe. And her honesty about FP. I love some old school Falice! - The chat between Betty and Alice helped me a little with Alice’s crazy over Chic. And she agreed he wasn’t FPs kid (good!) but whose is he?? - How did chic know she went to the sewer pipe with the body? Was he following her? I’m so over the Chic is - Hiram is acting like Jughead is his arch nemesis. He’s a 16 year old boy. Using Archie to to go against his best friend - gross. Archie is a dumb ass. - Thank you FP!! Glad you have your sons back especially when his best friend doesn’t seem to. - Disappointing Archie. And then to push Jughead at the end. What is his problem? - Betty living with Jughead and FP - that will be interesting. Could make or break them. Goes back to when he almost lived with her in season 1 before they deleted that scene. - Fred running against the lodges will be awesome. Same with Bughead being co-presidents!! - Penelope sending Cheryl to boarding school. That’s actually comic book canon and an interesting bit to put out there to see who was paying attention. - Conversion therapy with what seems to be the Sister’s of Mercy?? Wow. What’s with those pig tails anyway? This is going to be a very interesting story line and seriously reminds me of one of my favorite fan fics - “Haunted.”

Criminal Minds s05e01 “Faceless, Nameless” review - or more aptly named, SOMEBODY KILL GEORGE FOYET ALREADY!
Episode 01- Faceless, Nameless
Oh boy. Okay, I’m beyond excited about this, let’s not waste too much time on superfluous words and let’s get straight to it.
Season five, here we go.
Let’s see what happens.
Well, obviously there’s the ‘previously on Criminal Minds part’.
And I’m eating soup and getting better while watching my babies.
Now let’s see how they help Hotch.
“We’re not working a case. Why call us to a crime scene?”
“I was hoping you knew.”
Oh boy.
“Four hours of sleep after what we went through in Canada, it better be.”
So sleep-deprived Derek is not fun. Good to know.
Wait. So a doctor gets a note saying that if he didn’t relinquish his son to be killed, one person would die every day? Oh my god.
“Where’s Hotch?”
About time someone asked that.
Go looking for him.
So the dad told him the threat is against him, and that he should stay inside as a precaution. Who’s a good daddy? Yes, you are.
And I totally thought it in the way I talk to my puppy XD I’m bad. Well, sick, but same difference.
Wait. So the kid listened in on them? Oh boy. That’s not good.
Wait. Hold up. That’s Zoey’s brother from Zoey 101! Oh my god! Look how he’s grown!!!!! So awesome! And so hot… and I know he’s like four years my junior, so make that really creepy, but whatever.
Wait. Why would the kid go to school even though his dad told him it’s dangerous? A kid literally defying his father, to go to school. Oh god, this is seriously the most weird thing I’ve ever heard of. What kid wants to go to school?
Karl Krauss: “A weak man has doubts before a decision. A strong man has them afterwards.” I slightly disagree, I mean sure, you have to reach a decision, then doubt what’s going to happen if you go through with it, but shouldn’t you calculate all of your options before reaching a decision? I don’t know what went through this Krauss guy’s head.
“You need to go back inside.”
Okay! No need to get yelly.
“Sir, right now nobody is getting your son.”
Wait, what?
“You need to listen right now.”
Okay! I told you, no need to get yelly!
“We can control access in an out. Detective Walker will organize an evacuation as soon as the school day is done.”
Awesome.
“I think he’s just trying to do the right thing. He sees what his father does for a living. This is his way of trying to save lives, too.”
Aw, honey, I love how awesome you are, Derek. But honestly, this is the dumbest thing Jeffrey has done so far.
“Can you get the full medical charts?”
“You know, for a smart boy, you still ask a lot of dumb questions.”
Aw, honey.
I love it when she teases Reid.
“Hey, Garcia.”
“Yes, my love.”
XD
“Has Hotch checked in with you?”
“He’s not with you?”
Whoops. She’s been giving out information without the boss’s okay? Naughty!
Yeah, if you alert the parents and take the kids out now, then the fucker will know they’re onto him and he will start shooting in whichever direction he can point that stupid thing at and cause a riot. And that’s the last thing my babies want.
So hush.
So they’re going to lock every entry point except the front door. Oh boy.
And they need to take Jeffrey out of class to brief him. Oh boy.
Oh my god, I love this class. The principal calls Jeffrey out and everyone’s like ‘ooh he’s in trouble now’ hahaha classy.
Yay! Derek interacting with kids! Well, teenagers, but still, little people XD
“And you’re also gonna have to trust me.”
Easy thing to do, let’s be honest.
“Now, it’s gonna look like I’m just another adult in the hallway with Principal Findlay …”
Um, since when is Shemar Moore ‘just another adult’? That dude can stand in a crowd and I would zero in on him just because he’s so fucking hot.
I love how honest Derek is with him. Damn.
“For starters, we know that he’s male.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Women tend to add adjectives and very specific details to their notes. This has none of those.”
So basically, we’re wordy and more attentive to details, good to know.
“Males are also more direct.”
So my hints at how Shemar makes me cream my panties wasn’t direct? Wait, I wrote hints, never mind.
So it’s a dad who lost his son and he’s trying to make this doctor pay for it? Oh boy.
“Who’s that?” (about Hotch)
“He’s our supervisor. We weren’t supposed to work today. We’re having trouble getting a hold of him.”
Sweetie, why divulge that information to your client? Huh?
Suspicious/vigilant Derek. Hot.
Wait. So Hotch isn’t answering the door, but his phone is ringing from the inside? Whoops.
Not good.
Keys and briefcase still there. Okay.
Big fucking hole in the wall. Shit.
Blood on the carpet. Fuck.
And that’s Hotch’s phone. Double fuck.
“Overtime shift. Penelope speaking.”
Aw cutie.
“Something’s happened to Hotch.”
“What do you mean, something?”
Yeah, you can’t just drop that bomb on my cutie and not expect her to react.
“I don’t know. I’m in his place. He’s not here, but there’s blood.”
“Oh, my god.”
Definitely.
“Do we need an APB?”
I love how she goes technical so she doesn’t have to deal with the emotional level.
And then, fuck.
“Someone took him?”
“Okay, I’m sending an army.”
Hell yes.
“But you cannot tell the others. They cannot be distracted.”
So she’s supposed to lie to hot stuff? Oh boy.
Concerned poodle.
“What could be more important than my son right now?”
Uh, maybe their supervisor is missing and there’s blood in his apartment and he’s like a daddy to all of them?
“Agent Prentiss has been called away on an emergency.”
Well, lovely. Now there’s one less working the case, when the supervisor wasn’t there to begin with. Oh boy.
Wait. The B page in his address book is missing? Oh boy.
Jeez. I came to this show because it didn’t deal with medical shit. Why do this to me?
“The key is to keep Jeffrey isolated and avoid panic with the other students. If we can do that, everybody gets out of here safe.”
I love you, gorgeous.
“Emily.”
“No. Sorry, baby girl, just little old me. You’re out of luck.”
Oh my god, I’m dead.
“Right. Sorry.”
“All right. Be safe.”
Well, that was short.
“Hey. Everything okay?”
“Yeah. I’m just tired.”
Nice try.
“Yeah, I hear you. Let’s just get this home safe and we can all sleep.”
Nice save, Penelope.
“Right.”
Crap. She’s calling hospitals to check on Hotch. Oh god.
“What …”
What’s going on?
“When was that?”
I need more information here.
“Okay. Thank you. Oh my god.”
What? Talk to me, baby girl!
“He’s not listed as a patient, but someone dropped a John Doe off at St. Sebastian Hospital, and that someone’s name was FBI Agent Derek Morgan.”
Wait what??
But hot stuff is at the school thing. Right?
RIGHT?!
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“I know. Do you think they got their credentials mixed up.”
FINALLY.
“The Reaper. Foyet took Morgan’s creds.”
“Why would he drop him off at the ER?”
That’s true. It don’t make much sense to me either.
Again with the medical bit. Fuck.
At least he fucking remembers at last.
Wait. So the dad is the dude who got angry because the doctor wouldn’t operate on his dead son? Oh honey.
And by the way, this review is going to be fucking long as hell, just so you know!
Foyet stabbed him nine times but didn’t hit any major arteries? Well, that’s beyond lucky, that’s fucking intentional.
Wait. Why does Hotch’s chart have ‘L.C.” on it too?
“Come on, no pushing. One at a time.”
Oh god, I can’t with Derek directing children. It’s so cute!
LC stands for living children. But I still didn’t get one bit of that last sentence of Emily’s. I don’t get medical. Sorry.
“What if the unsub was trying to tell Dr. Barton that he is actually the target and that he’s gonna leave his son without a father?”
Oh god.
Did he just fucking shoot my poodle?
My poodle protecting the doc even though my poodle is wounded? Oh honey.
My poodle shot the bad guy.
Wow.
If he wasn’t wounded, this would be hot as fuck.
The bullet went clean through. Thank fuck.
“You might have just saved his life.”
So what? You are hurt, poodle!
“I’m good, I’m fine. Go to your son.”
Wait. So now poodle is turning into the hero? What?
So he’s only filling them in now? Damn.
And just so you know, I’m only at the 27:23 time mark, and this is already four pages in Word. I’m so sorry, you guys….
At least Hotch’s finally awake.
Aw, concerned Derek.
“Where am I?”
“The hospital.”
Well thanks, ray of sunshine, for stating the obvious.
“How did I get here?”
“Foyet drove you.”
Well, that’s just a bundle of good news right there.
Sorry, I’m sarcastic as fuck here. Don’t know what came over me.
“What did he take?”
“What do you mean?”
It’s so obvious Rossi still thinks he’s drowsy form the medication dawww
Shit. Foyet knows where Hayley lives now. Fuck.
“Garcia.”
“Right here.”
You betcha.
“I need FBI’s SWAT deployed to Hotch’s hold address. Do it now.”
“Oh god, do you think he’s going after Hayley and Jack?”
Oh god.
“I don’t know. Just send a SWAT team.”
“Consider them there.”
Hells yeah.
“If you don’t see fear, maybe it’s because I’m not afraid of you.”
Oh wow. I’d be shitting my pants if I came across a psycho asshole like Foyet.
“Are you here to kill me, or are you here to play games?”
Oh god, how can he have that fucking poker face while staring at death?
You know, if he wasn’t so psycho, Foyet could actually be a hottie.
Oh god, it’s so awful to think they have to converge on Hotch’s old place to see if they are okay. Oh god.
Oh this girl is good. She was so fucking terrified out of her wits. I love this lady! Oh my god. Hahaha, sorry, I know it’s serious. But I’m thinking of this in the real world where they had to shoot this several times from different angles and she had to be this freaked out every time. Awesome.
At least Jack isn’t in the house. But he needs to be there so they know where he is. Fudge.
Aw, my pretty baby is going to pick up the Hotchners’ pretty baby XD
“They will kill you.”
For you? Of course!
“I don’t want to brag.”
Seriously? Fuck you, Foyet!
Oh god, this asshole seriously gives me the creeps.
One heck of a season premiere episode, guys.
Have I mentioned how much I can’t handle hot people with kids? I have? Well, I’m reiterating this for the hundredth time. Stop forcing me into a premature cardiac arrest.
“They let me turn on the siren!”
You perfect man, you.
Oh my god, four-year-old Jack is the cutest!!
So Jack and Hayley have to go into protective custody now? Oh dear.
Oh god, my heart is breaking at how cute this kid is and how sad this scene is. Oh god.
Does this dude play a marshal agent in every show about cops and feds? Cuz he’s been one in Castle. Just IMDB’d him. Holy shit, he’s really a theatre dude! How did I not know this? Wow.
At least Spencer is fine.
“He’s gonna have to be on crutches for a while, but he said kicking down doors is Morgan’s job, anyway.”
Oh you cutie.
“He was hoping to watch me fall apart, and now he wants to destroy Hotch.”
And you’re not gonna let him, sweetie. Because you’re a tough cookie.
Rossi filling Hotch in on the case is so weird, cuz you know he has a reason for telling him this.
“It was a happy ending.”
Wait. So my poodle getting shot in the leg is a happy ending? Fuck you, Rossi!
“Do you know why I’m telling you this?” KNEW IT!
“No other group in the world could have pulled off what your team did in a matter of hours.”
So true.
“We’ll get Foyet.”
So stop torturing yourself, you dick. Hayley and Jack are safe with the marshal dude, so focus on catching him. Stop it.
oh my goodness gracious, this episode was rough... and well spaced. They dealt with a regular case, all the while focusing on a matter that wasn’t closed last season with Foyet, and managed to put it all together and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo we have one of the best episodes yet to open a season. Well, excluding season four because I thought Derek was gonna die and that wasn’t cool. Overall, amazing start to a season, and cannot wait to see how this develops. I’ll see you all next time, to see how they fucking kill Foyet already, because they wouldn’t leave me hanging like this, right? RIGHT?
Again, so humbled by all the likes and follows, guys! It’s seriously amazing to me that you take your time to read this crazy word vomit of mine. <3

how does 13rw spread a dangerous message?
Discussion of suicide and 13 Reasons Why tw! Not gonna be graphic or anything, but I will be talking about suicide a lot.
also this is LONG I have Opinions (and honestly I think a lot of this is really important so)
Okay anon, I’ve been trying to phrase this all day, so here goes. I have a LOT of issues with it, sooo we’ll see what this looks like. And like, I say this as a person who has attempted suicide, so please consider that I have personal knowledge of this kind of thing. I don’t speak for all suicidal people, of course, but my experiences and feelings are relevant to the topic.
1. I totally disagree with the premise that the people Hannah to whom sent the tapes were responsible for her suicide. Certainly people’s actions can contribute to a person’s pain. But no one is responsible for someone else’s suicide. As someone who experiences suicidal thoughts regularly, I would never, ever want anyone I know to feel responsible for my death.
Part of where I’m coming from on this is a friendship of mine that was very unhealthy for about a year. This was tied up in my severe depression. My friend felt responsible for my life. It was hell for her. If I had died, the guilt would have destroyed her. And we were both wildly imperfect. I was manipulative. I was irresponsible. She was too. She said things that triggered my suicidal thoughts. But she wasn’t responsible for them. If she hadn’t said things like that, I could very well have been suicidal anyway because I saw a story I wrote as a kid lying on the floor. Because I had a different breakfast than I wanted. Heck, because the sky was blue.
I don’t mean to devalue suicide, but when you are intensely suicidal day in, day out, it becomes your natural response to *any negative emotion/event*. It’s that whole creating neuropathways in your brain thing, which was compounded by the fact that I was 17 and my brain still developing (sigh).
The point is that while certain things may trigger suicidal thoughts and contribute to a person’s pain, they do not cause a suicide or force a person into a situation where they have no other choice but to commit suicide. Your actions do not take that plunge for me. Whether the suicidal person is totally responsible for their actions is up for debate (I have mixed feelings on that one), but you do not cause a certain outcome.
It’s important to understand that suicidal thoughts occur in the context of mental illness. If your brain was well, you would not react to these events by wanting to die. Although there are certainly traumatic events to which suicidal ideation is a natural response, the key point is that they *traumatize* you and mess with your brain.
I also disagree that other people’s actions can cause suicide because there is no clear point when a specific action is bad enough that it will push someone over the edge. Something you say to person A, who has suicidal ideation, might not trigger them at all, but saying that same thing to person B, who also has suicidal ideation, might be very triggering. Or maybe one day you say something to person A and it hurts them but the saying it the next day wouldn’t hurt them at all. Where is the line? Sometimes honesty hurts. Saying that makes me sound like a jerk, but you should be able to tell someone that they are hurting you without being afraid that you will kill them. Obviously there are some things you should not say or do to someone, but there are others that are just not clearly black or white. I’m concerned by the idea that certain actions can cause suicide because there is no way to know what actions those are. Until we can read minds, the argument fails.
To be clear, I find it absolutely horrific to blame individual people for a person’s death. Placing the responsibility on them is in my opinion an act of violence.
2. I find it deeply concerning that the show is about suicide, but they never mention depression or mental illness once. I’m not the first to say this, but how can you make a tv show about suicide and not talk about mental illness at all? And to be honest, avoiding discussing mental illness outright only contributes to the stigma surrounding it and suicide.
3. It is morally disgusting and artistically terrible to show the suicide onscreen. First off, this is lazy writing. What was the point? Shock value? They couldn’t communicate the stakes with the rest of the show? To show how horrific suicide can be? They had to actually show it onscreen to communicate that? If you have to actually show it graphically onscreen to communicate that suicide is bad, you’ve got a pretty terrible show.
And showing it onscreen does not communicate that suicide is bad. Honestly, many suicidal people frequently and graphically fantasize about their own deaths. They don’t see this and think, “Oh wow, that’s absolutely horrific and I will never want to die again.” Some suicidal people may see it and think this way! But others will see it and think, “Oh, this is what it looks like. I could do this to myself.” Showing it onscreen doesn’t condemn suicide, it asks the viewer to be fascinated by it. It says, “Here, look at how horrifying this girl’s death was.” It turns her death into a spectacle. That’s disgusting. (Also, to reduce her life to her death and the way in which she died is pretty terrible??)
To be clear, I don’t think potentially triggering media shouldn’t exist. There is graphic content that can be very important. But in this case, I think it was beyond distasteful and morally reprehensible, even with trigger warnings.
And as my friend @theletterem said, “Who sits there and thinks, ‘It would be an awesome idea to show potentially suicidal teens how to kill themselves,’?”
4. This leads me into my next issue with it. 13 Reasons Why is a warning to friends and acquaintances of suicidal people. Everyone talks about how the message of the show is that our words and actions matter. Its audience is the people around potentially suicidal folks, but it completely disregards that suicidal people will watch it. I think there is a place for media focused on friends and relatives of suicidal people! But you have to acknowledge and understand that suicidal people will consume it. You have to think carefully about the messages it sends to us. I dislike 13 Reasons Why because it ignores the impact it may have on suicidal viewers.
I think it’s most concisely said like this (although of course I couldn’t be concise; I had to talk as much as possible): I find it appalling and shameful to create media that relies on suicidal people’s experiences and then to ignore its potential effects on those very people.
4a. This is a personal pet peeve, but I am so sick of centering friends and relatives in suicidal people’s stories. We should be showing hope and pain, giving meaning to the experiences suicidal people have, instead of providing watered-down messages for the people around them. (I mean seriously, “be nice”? you needed the threat of responsibility for someone’s death to tell you that?)
Here’s where this becomes less about 13 Reasons Why and more about what I’d like to see in media/change in society.
I’m really sick of stories that come at it sideways via the people they know instead of reaching out to the suicidal person and saying, “Hey, you matter.” By focusing on the people around them, you devalue suicidal people’s lives. When every depiction of people like me in media focuses on the pain I may cause in other people, you are saying my life doesn’t matter. Really: why are my experiences about how much they’ll make other people hurt? Why not talk about the value in my life? It implies I don’t have any.
Let me repeat myself just to be perfectly clear. When you turn the value of someone’s life into the pain they could potentially cause someone else, you are saying they don’t actually matter. You are saying you don’t believe their life has worth – you believe the wellbeing of the people around them does. Suicidal people deserve better. We do matter. We are valuable. I want to see that reflected in discussions of suicide. I want to see that reflected in media discussing suicide. I want to see media that focuses on the suicidal person and says their life is valuable. Their experiences are meaningful.
Because they are.
