random thing, kinda a headcanon bit about Rupert and fossil dig ceo. I think they're dinaurians. idk if the Fandom has gone over this already, I'm not active, but the dinaurians never are mentioned, to my knowledge, outside of the original ff, so my theory is that they integrated into society with their holographic tech. I think Fossil CEO is one of them, as he totally dresses the part and his son has freaky yellow eyes, and he totally could have gotten rich off his super fancy dinaurian technology. Just a random headcanon that I think patches up some of the dinaurian gaps. I miss them </3

also if you have any info on the dinaurians or what happened to them I would love to know, thag bonus bit in ffc where you get to fight duna raptin and dynal did nothing to explain where they went and I'm desperate for understanding

I don't think Rupert and his dad are dinaurians, however Rupert could pass as a dinaurian in disguise. His yellow eyes are very reminiscent of the dinaurians, you're right. Honestly with his sharp yellow eyes and white hair he could easily pass as Dynal's son. Maybe in the future I'll play around with this idea, could be interesting!

I think most dinaurians stuck around Vivosaur Island and the mothership for a while after the events of FF. I imagine they would be hesitant to spread out, and they don't know if humans will accept them. At the point Champions takes place, they aren't widespread yet.

I don't consider their appearance in FFC canon, it's clear they were just added after the fact and Champions was not made with them in mind. Also their characterization was a bit scuffed imo, I can sort of understand Raptin still being a pissbaby, he'll always be a bit of a hater, but all of them still talk about humans as though they are lesser, their character arcs forgotten. Dynal especially was way too aggressive towards this random kid for no reason. I went on a mini rant a while back about this but good luck finding that post.

If I made Champions there'd be dinaurians around as normal npcs, just to show that they are there and becoming accustomed to earth life. Maybe have them talk about the king and his elites, give hints to the player that they are there on the islands somewhere and that they are interested in Caliosteo's fossil battling scene. Idk, something other than them just appearing out of nowhere.
