enjoy a short snippet of some 19-20ish yr old linzin deciding to have sex for the first time lol. full fic coming eventually I hope.

“Is this the moment?” she says weakly. “Are you absolutely sure?”

“I almost lost you,” he whispers, and there's that desperate edge in his voice, again. “I've never been more sure.”

Her thoughts are all scrambled now, some complicated fever-rush of exhaustion and desire, but she tries desperately to hold it together.

“Your parents…?”

“Know I'm here waiting for you,” he confirms. “Won't notice I'm gone.”

“Are you ready?” she presses again. A deeply unsexy question, perhaps, but she knows him well enough to know she should ask.

“I…” and she swears he blushes, the idiot, “… may have read some scrolls on the subject.”

“Oh,” she says. “Did you, now?”

Teasing him is so easy. Lin steps closer, feeling bolder, lighter than before.

Tenzin, for his part, looks down at her in that incredibly specific way of his. That dark, intense gaze, saved for her and her alone, that leaves her heart stuttering in her chest.

The air that separates them -- the paltry space between their bodies -- feels electric. Like it’s just waiting to catch aflame.

So she lifts her chin oh-so-slightly in challenge. Meets his gaze with her own.

“Show me, then.”

In response, he -- well, he lifts her clear off the ground.

She yelps in surprise, but only for a moment, and then he's kissing her again, her back against the wall, legs firmly wrapped around him.

She comes back to herself and finds her bearings just long enough to wrap her fist in his robes and kiss him back, her movements hungry and frantic and desperate.

Tenzin groans at her ministrations, the rough sound sending heat right to her core, before he greedily parts her lips. He deepens the kiss, then, all while moving his hips against hers in a steady rhythm that leaves her moaning into his mouth.

13. How do you tend to approach nsfw scenes, if you write them? For the longest time, I avoided them. Now, I look to push myself to the challenge and write it. I have boundaries so I don't typically push myself out of my comfort zone. And unless the story I'm writing really demands these scenes, I don't write NSFW, of course, besides the few pwp fics I've written. I tend to cringe pretty easily, so thankfully that's a good radar for setting boundaries around writing nsfw. I need it to be extremeeeeely tasteful. If it at all reads icky, I do full rewrite.

14. What do you think your otp says about you? Haha, I think from all my otps: linzin, linumi, linzolt, linko, liniroh, and linkou (my OC), they're all wildly, insatiably in love with Lin. And I think that's the kinda love I crave irl- I love unconditionally and I expect to be loved in the same way. Linzin covers this bond-beyond-everything, while Linumi covers the more lightheartedness that comes from being with someone you trust. Linzolt is exciting, enthralling and sexy while Linko tells me I need to date an older woman. I'm literally so easy to read help lol.

No. I have a vague LOK and Fruits Basket crossover idea and there was fan comic of that was a crossover of LOK and MHA I saw that was cool. There's potential, but I don't think it would be something I could pull off.

If I have, it's not been to my face. I'm lucky to be in a small bubble of very kind people

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes? I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone in writing it. I think I've done better in writing the tension and buildup, alluding to it, not necessarily writing it explicitly.

I don't know, it all depends on the context and pair. Usually soft and romantic, I guess.

Hmm pass.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I think it may come off as boring? Writing is hard.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

This isn't something that I've done and the thing with it is how in some fics it is clear the author used GoogleTranslate for the dialogue. The problem with that is the dialogue doesn't come across as natural. Oftentimes it may not be the best phrasing a native speaker would use. If I was working on a fic where I thought it could add a creative flair to the story, I would reach out to someone who is more fluent in the language or do some research on my own instead of an online translator.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Legend of Korra

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

For the time being, I want to keep my writing to Legend of Korra and My Hero Academia. As with ships, the thing I like about these shows is how big the casts are, especially MHA, so you can do all sorts of combinations to get all the sparkly brained rare pairs lol

For Legend of Korra I want to try Amon/Kuvira. And My Hero Academia, Miruko/FatGum aka ChubbyBunny. They have the cutest ship name for a rare pair

Yes. Always. Sometimes it’s hard to not spoil the rest of the fic when I answer questions, but I love it when you guys ask questions. I respond to comments because I like to exchange thoughts with people who comment, or simply thank people who took the time to write something.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

@silv3reyedstranger I don’t like to copy but your answer is exactly what I think, so I’m mostly gonna keep what you said.

I'm really not the biggest fan of angsty endings (because it makes me sad), so I don't write them. I'd much prefer piling on the angst throughout and giving them a happy ending. There's too much sadness and grief in the world already, I feel like everyone should get a happy ending.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I don’t know, they all end well, but since I need to choose one I'd say Don’t Leave Me because of what happens in the fic

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I did, on Change my Direction a few chapters ago (which is basically a year and a half ago.). People(who had never commented before on this fic) had a lot to say about how I handled a specific chapter.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yes I do (I think most of my stuff is rated E on Ao3 lol). I’d say mostly fluff. And…what would you call Kara and Lena have been longing for each other for years and finally decide to…? 

I wrote more kinky stuff I haven’t posted yet. There’s angry sex in a fic I’m working on

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I did. Harry Potter and Charmed, City Hunter and Cat’s eyes (1980s and early 1990s mangas by the same author). I used to draw crossovers a lot which was a lot easier than trying to figure out how some characters could meet. I don’t think any of my written crossovers were too far-fetched, but my art on the other hand…I had the Golden trio from Harry Potter meet Naruto characters, and Outfit exchanges(with Naruto and other mangas) a few times in my art.

“Recently” I had Kate Kane and her step-sister visit Kara and Lena in Suddenly I’m in too deep. And I will write crossovers again with other characters from the Arrowverse

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I hope not.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

No one’s ever asked, so not that I know of. I’ve tried translating my own fics once upon a time, but what a hassle lol. Although that was back when I was writing in French so translating to English was harder (and my English was not what it is today), maybe it would be easier to translate my current fics in French, but I don’t really see the point lol

13. have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Yes 2 with @lenaralanvers. One is Let’s let go of our Broken Hearts (she did the actual writing but we took decisions together) and the second we haven’t posted yet.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

My OTP? I don’t know. I’ve loved all my ships with passion, still do. I think RonMione, Linzin, Korrasami and of course Supercorp will always hold a very special place in my heart.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I hope I’ll be able to finish all of my Supercorp ones in any shape or form. Sometimes I just write down a short idea and it turns into a multi chapter fic. Or sometimes I write something I think could be huge, but it turns out to be a few paragraphs and it’s just as finished as the fics I post online. 

16. What are your writing strengths?

I’m not good at knowing what I’m good at lol. I think I’m good with fluff scenes and how people react with their senses (sight, touch etc)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptions. Which is all the more frustrating because I usually get a very precise picture in my head but I can rarely show it with words.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I don’t write entire dialogues in another language, just a few foreign sentences or words here and there. I like to keep it organic for the reader and this method is easier when it comes to including translation

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter. I was desperately waiting for Book 5, and after theorizing for a while about serious plot points, one day I sat down to write goofy interviews given by the Golden trio to the Daily Prophet. The funny thing is, fanfiction came naturally to me, and I’m not sure I even knew the name of what I was writing then.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Oh that’s a tough one, because favorites tend to change. I can list a few that I love in chronological order (each one of these marked a milestone of some kind in my writing journey):

3. Have you ever written a soulmate AU? If you haven't, why would/wouldn't you write one?

The closest thing to this I've ever written was probably Aang joking about Lin and Tenzin being the same soul split into two bodies in Gone, Not Forgotten which was really just his monk way of saying they were two peas in a pod.

I haven't written any specific soulmate stories mostly because I just personally don't believe in soulmates lol. It's a very sweet fic genre tho. 6. Have you ever started to write a relationship and had it develop differently than you expected? How so? LOL I would say actually writing platonic linzin almost always veers into romantic territory without my consent, but I can usually rein it back in. Otherwise, Lin and Kazuo would fit the bill here. He was really intended to be a one-off character in a onshot story, but he wouldn't leave me alone and now he has his own backstory and a handful of other OCs that sprung up around him.

9. When you write, do you plan out the stages of a relationship, or just let it flow? Do you have any works where the characters seem to "write themselves"?

It depends. I usually make a loose outline if it's a multi-chapter fic. If it's a oneshot I just write and see where it takes me. As for characters writing themselves I think I have the easiest time writing Toph because they did such a good job developing her in ATLA I can hear her dialogue clearly without putting in any effort. She's by far the easiest character to write. This would go for any fic she's in, really.

13. Are there any consistent trends when you write a budding relationship, or does it vary by character? If there are trends, what are they?

I think it varies by relationship- for instance when I write Lin and Tenzin's early stages in Push & Pull it's extremely different from Lin and Kazuo in The Rebound or Spirit of Change. Even though Lin is part of both, she's a different age and carrying around a lot more history later in life so I think the development is completely different. If y'all see trends in my writing I'd love to know because I don't see them!

15. Are there any relationship dynamics/tropes you would never write?

Never say never! I'm open to anything that catches my interest.

21. Not all relationships are romantic. What's your favorite non-romantic relationship that you've written about?

My favorite non-romantic relationship I've written in fic is without a doubt Lin and Toph. I'm so obsessed with their dynamic.

Would you ship Linzin, if Toph were in a relationship with Sokka, since Lin was a baby?

Hi Anon, thank you for the ask! And good question, I honestly don't know what LOK ships I actually ship for this reason LOL. I guess for me, the Gaang and their relationship when they're adults and have kids seems a little more family-oriented than friend, so sometimes I struggle to actually look into or appreciate LOK ships involving the Gaang's kids.

Anyway, to your actual question LMAO.

I feel like if Toph and Sokka were in a relationship when Lin was a baby, I'm not sure if Lin or Tenzin would see each other in a romantic setting anyway. If they did have feelings for each other, there isn't any blood relation, so it's technically not weird at all. It just may feel weird for the parties affected.

Like, I can see teenagers bullying Lin and Tenzin, and perhaps there are still a lot of public opposition that spread rumors and speculate that Lin is actually Sokka's child. So in that sense, I feel like them trying to be together would create more harm than good and until they're much older, I feel like any romantic relationship with a cloudbaby wouldn't be worth it, at least to Lin.

But if we take all of that out of the equation and look strictly at Tokka and Linzin in the same setting where Sokka basically raises Lin as his daughter... I probably wouldn't ship Linzin. Seems a little too familial for my liking. Tenzin literally calls Sokka "Uncle" and Lin is about a form of papers away from calling Sokka "Dad," it's just complicated LOL. Honestly though, if anyone does ship both in the same universe/AU, I don't think it's a problem. There are plenty of fics where this is basically the case, and it's not a big deal. I just don't really vibe with it lol. Also, I haven't really taken the time to look at Lin's romantic ships (or any LOK ships), I mainly like to look at her relationship with her mother and the Gaang, specifically, her upbringing. I think those headcanons are my favorite with lil' Lin :)

So this was a long winded way of saying that I personally wouldn't ship both Tokka and Linzin in an AU where Sokka practically raises Lin with Toph, but I don't hate it. Would love to hear your thoughts, though!

Hi angel!

My answer is probably very obvious lol it's Choices, Chances, Changes. When the idea came to me, it felt so divinely guided and I had never felt such a powerful urge to write. It was like something possessed me bc I was uploading a new chapter every 2-3 days.

I've never done that before.

If I wrote it again, I'd make a few edits and shifts in details. But I'm very happy with it, the journey and process of telling the story, and sharing the love for Linzin with other fans 💕

All the fics that I'm embarrassed about (that I wrote) are mostly gone from public view. They're either deleted or abandoned 🥲

Hi! What do you think Tenzin’s reaction would be to the white lotus trying meddle with his life with lin? They want more airbenders and bring up leaving Lin or taking another girl (?). Could also be a fic where as soon as Jin is of age, they start pressuring him as well.

I think there are different stages to Tenzin's reactions and interactions with the White Lotus regarding his relationship with Lin.

Teen - The White Lotus is planting seeds in his brain upon finding out that Tenzin is dating Lin. They're telling him the importance and benefits of a huge family, and the implication is that he'll need 10 kids bc 6 of them will prob be earthbenders. At this time, Tenzin is feisty and also trying to get his tattoos and not let his temper fly off the handle. So he's not speaking up as much because he's trying to be like Avatar Aang, even tho he rants and airbends and kicks some rocks with Lin a few hours later.

Early 20s - Now that he's past 18, White Lotus starts to put more pressure on him to have children. Tenzin politely tells them that he and Lin are still focusing on themselves before they talk about marriage and a family. The pressure is building in the back of his head, but not to the point where he's consumed by it.

Mid-20s - He's convinced the love of his life to marry him and he couldn't be happier about it. Tenzin feels like he's in heaven and every day is a wonderful day. As soon as the White Lotus hears about this, they sit the couple down and tell them what is expected of them. Also tell Tenzin that they will assist with finding a fertility specialist to ensure that Lin will bear airbenders. Lin has never seen him so intense and passionately rageful towards respectable members of a secret society. Tenzin doesn't care bc they're ruining his celebration and disrespecting Lin. All of his suppressed emotions come out and he furiously tells them off. He grabs Lin's hand and they storm out of the room.

WL immediately conclude that Lin is a horrible influence on Tenzin bc he's never been like this before.

They bring this to Aang's attention and he shuts it down on them lol

White Lotus waits several months later to approach Tenzin about it. In private. They tell him that it's okay for him to have multiple wives in case Lin is unsuccessful in having airbenders, and it only sets him off again. Tenzin tells them to never bring the subject up again to him or Lin. Whenever Tenzin is with Lin and they notice the WL coming, Tenzin pushes Lin against the wall and makes out with her hard. In front of them. And if they can't get the hint, Tenzin starts to pull at the sash around Lin's waist.

With Lin's first pregnancy, WL is thrilled because this child could obviously revive the Air Nation. But once they find out she's an earthbender, they already start asking about the next child and when they will try for another. Tenzin tells Aang that the WL cannot step foot on the island to discuss anything related to his family and their bending, unless life or death. He will not tolerate that kind of talk around his wife postpartum, and Tenzin is upset with himself for not doing this earlier.

Early 30s - Lin and Tenzin now feel complete as a family with four young children all relatively close in age. Regardless of bending, Linzin doesn't feel like they need anymore children and want to be able to raise them properly. By now, Tenzin is extremely protective over how the WL addresses him and Lin about airbenders. He doesn't care about his temper. The WL repeats what they say over the years and he's so over it.

With Jin, the WL heavily takes advantage of his complicated relationship with Tenzin and try to influence him. They speak to him about it without his parents around to yell at them. The WL tries to switch up their tactics on how to get through to him, compared to how it went with Tenzin.

It backfires.

In front of the White Lotus, his siblings and parents, Jin declares he has no desire to have kids. Generally speaking, he has very little desire to perpetuate the Air Nation's traditional culture and wants to help the nation progress forward in a modernizing society.

His parents are shocked by the public declaration, and Lin is supportive because she understands why he's not interested in having children. Tenzin assumes this is a joke to get the WL to shut up. He's proud of his boy for standing up to them like he did. But then Jin tells him that he's serious about it. While Tenzin voices his support for Jin, it's still obvious that he's bothered by it.

In Jin's mind, he assumes if Dad isn't happy, then that means he's disappointed in him. Jin takes this as the truth, even though Tenzin really just needs time to process it and accept that that's what his son wants (with Lin's support and help).

I'm currently brainstorming/writing that teacher Linzin AU 😝 I've never done a project like this, so I'm taking it one step at a time lol

One struggle: I've created this new pressure on myself since I wrote "Choices, Chances, Changes." I was able to write the entire story in 6 months, and then also post super consistently following that. Nowadays, I feel like I'm in this cycle of trying to be productive and crank out new chapters/stories. Much like how I'm constantly hustling in my work life, now I'm experiencing it creatively--and I need to learn how to rest without feeling guilt.

I definitely try to respond to comments! The fact that someone spent time and energy to comment means so much to me, and I want to acknowledge that. I'm not the best at leaving comments, but I'm trying to do it more often as a reader bc I, too, am often dying at how awesome fics are

It's probably Meant To Be. Now that I think about it, I might write an extra piece for this fic just bc I feel like being salty lol

The Only Light We'll See - The whole fic was just an excuse to write steamy, smutty Linzin and let them have a happy life together. I guess you could argue that the main Linzin and family AU I write could also be one of them, but I haven't completed their story yet in this universe. Tbf, I don't think my Linzin AU has an "ending" but whatever happens, Linzin gets their happy ever after

Right now, I don't. But I was more open to writing crossovers when I was a kid.

Probably Olvídame y Pega La Vuelta just bc I lost the vision for it

I think emotions are a big part of my writing process and it comes through in my fics. I channel my own emotions into my writing and it does leave a more profound impression.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Sometimes I want my writing perfect in the first draft, and it stops me from just enjoying the process. Recently, I've been wanting to write and that has manifested into writing for "results" rather than quality. I mean, I still try to write my best and for the fun of it. It's just that work sucks my energy and the time I have left for myself is recharging 😭

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I need more context with this question. Does this mean if I do something like this:

Lin and Tenzin raised their brows at the girl with the electronic device.

"어머, 죽겠다! 린베이퐁과 텐진 진짜 앞에 있다," she said aloud, though the language is not her mother tongue. "어떡해...인스타로 올리겠지"

In general, I would be open to it because it can open up new pathways for writing

I don't think I have one. For the most part, if I want to write for a fandom, I just do it lol

Choices, Chances, Changes. I swear a divine force guided me into writing this bc I was so compelled to bring it to life. The updates were posted every few days, and the story was completely written in 6 months.

There were 21 chapters.

Also, it was the first fic I completed in like 14 years (omg I sound old now 💀)

You are all about the self-love and self-worth, and I'm so here for it love. Anyway, hmmm....

I've been so productive this year in terms of writing fics, and I'm so proud and happy of myself for that. With the start of a new job coming up, I hope that I can still maintain that strong sense of creative motivation.

For writing, I guess love that my writing style is evolving still and growing 💞 Not every piece has to be the same, and that's what makes it special (even if I may be critical about it).

💋 First kiss fics. Love em or hate em?

Def love them!! There are so many ways you can go about it, but I especially love when there's a huge build-up toward it. The mutual or one-sided pining, and sexual tension 🥵🥵🔥 Or even the wholesome and cute scenarios.

Tbh I did get kinda tired of reading the pre-canon Linzin fics (between 2012-2014) bc they all had redundant themes/scenes and i lost interest. Not many people did AUs at the time, so there wasn't a lot of variety that stood out to me.

Hello Anon I am running out of fics to recommend. I've done some here and here but I will try one more time.

1) The Pledge: But mostly just for the first chapter- I'll probably delete the the other two and let it be a standalone one-shot. It's a Linzin fic where Tenzin basically screws up royally and let's his Linzin show instead of Pemzin lol. I think just for the way the fic flows, it deserves to be on this list.

2) Yearbooks: A rare, rare pairing of Lin Beifong and Hiroshi Sato- the two people in their cohort with last names. It is the last day of their preppy high school before Lin joins the police academy and Hiroshi joins his father in business. This is based one of my OG favorite ships- before I ever knew what it meant to ship two people. If you get it, I'll grant you wish.

3) Great Balls of Fire: Drunken night- Bumi plays the piano- Iroh dishes on the commander- Lin has some serious thinking to do. That's all I'm going to say. The fic/title is inspired by this scene.

4) Ghost of Weddings: Probably one of my longest oneshots ever. It's Lin x Zolt with Lin processing all her past relationships at Varrick's wedding with the help of a spirit who needs Lin to sort her romantic life out to maintain balance in the universe. High stakes yet, perfect fruit.

5) Drizzly Mistakes: It's cutesy Linko one shot with the prompt "keys". There isn't very much to say except that Lin would straight up walk home in the pouring Lin than talk about her romantic life.

Okay phew. I had a hard time coming up with these.

Oooh goodness....Baby girl, you always put your heart and love into everything you write, and that's what gives your writing life. Some pieces aren't for everyone, but what's important is that you write for you 🩵

🍭 Why did you start writing?

Tbh i don't know how to answer this one because I've been writing fics since I was about 9 or 10. I don't remember clearly what compelled me to start doing it, but probably the fact that I was so obsessed with Meet The Robinsons around that time and I needed to channel that into something lol By fate, I discovered fanfiction and I guess one thing led to another and I just started writing my make-believe scenarios for that fandom.

(i deleted all my MTR fics bc honey whew it was so cringe and defied the laws of physics 🤣)

I never really stopped writing after that haha

🎈Describe your style as a writer; is it fixed? does it change?

Before I started writing for LOK, I would say that my writing style was fixed. Lots of purple prose and pretty writing, no matter if it's a long fic or oneshot.

Now my writing style has def changed since I did "Choices, Chances, Changes." It's more simplified in areas that don't require lots of thought. I will say that with each new story or oneshot, I slightly change my style and that's mostly me experimenting. A great example is that arranged marriage AU for Linzin: there's more narration than any of my other writing I've ever done.

I think with my future writing, it will def continue to change and evolve 💞
