Disney Descendants : The Peter Pan Doll

Summary: Peter finds out a secret his (younger?) sister has been hiding from him.

“Peter?” Hannah called out, bored (and a little bit nervous even if she'd never admit it). 

It was never a good sign when her brother was being that quiet. 

“Peter, I'm about to order lunch from Royalgrub. What are you feeling?”

The sixteen year old was once again met with silence. “Pete. Peter Pumpkin eater.  Come on! We don't have all day—why is my bedroom door open? Peter Elizabeth Maria Pan you better not be in my room!”

“Uh Hannah?” Peter asked. “ What’s This ?” He was holding out  a doll that looked like him in his hand.

A doll the pirate captain recognized immediately. Not that she'd admit to that, either. “I have never seen that thing before in my life.” “I don’t believe you–wait–are you secretly my biggest fan?!”

“No!” The brunette sputtered, crossing her fingers behind her back. Sending their oldest cousin Atticus a silent apology that she sincerely hoped he could hear, wherever he was. “I've seriously never seen that doll before in my life!” 

“Uh Huh, who does it belong to then?  Seriously Hannah it’s ok if you are ! All girls seem to like me ..”

“Fucking hell Peter, phrasing! I'm your sister!”  The teen groaned. “And how do you even know if that ugly ratty old thing is you? It looks nothing like you. The colors are all wrong.”

They weren't really: the colors. They had probably been at least a little closer to the true ones at some point—before they became more faded with time. It was thirteen years old, after all. It was bound to happen. 

Especially given that the materials Atticus had used to make it had been old to begin with. 

“Let’s See: Red Hair?”

“It's more pink actually—”

“Check! Green Outfit? Check!”

“It's more yellow to green, if you ask me—” Hannah was digging herself into a hole, wasn't she? Damn it, she should have just asked Luke for help babysitting. Sure, he probably would have teased her about something too but it would have been nowhere near as embarrassing as her brother finding that stupid doll. 

It wasn't like she'd known he was her brother back when she used to tote that thing around. And it wasn't like she was the only one to have a doll of her dad’s nemesis! CJ had a fucking Tinkerbell doll for Brizo’s sake!

Freddie used to carry around a Naveen voodoo doll!

Claudine Frollo even had a little Quasimodo doll in her bell tower when they were smaller. 

Why was it that Hannah always got the short end of the straw when it came to these things?

“Come on, Hannah. Who else do ya know dresses like me? And don’t say Lampwick. He and I dress completely differently!”

“Not really. But you and Robin Hood and Danny Darling all dress pretty similarly too if you ask me. I think the tweedle brothers and their kids even dress like that. You don't own the sole right to hideous all green outfits, red feathers, and red hair, little brother.” 

She had to keep lying till she found a way out of this. 

She was in too deep to admit the truth now. Even if Peter already basically knew it. 

“HEY! I think I look good in this get up and besides it’s not like you know about Robin Hood!”

“Actually I know an embarrassing amount about Mulan, Merida, and Robin Hood but go off, I guess, little brother.” That was it. 

She just had to get him so mad that he'd forget what he was teasing her about. 

Or at least get him to argue about who was actually the older sibling between them. Seeing as he liked trying to put her in time out as if she was the 12–13 year old, and not a sixteen year old Auradon Prep graduate.

“You know what Hannah, you can deny it all you want  but it’s pretty obvious you’re obsessed with me ! And Honestly who could blame you ? I’m Awesome!”

A loud wail broke out from the nursery where Anthony and Harriet’s new son was sleeping, causing Hannah to sigh. “If you're so awesome you can order your own lunch. I gotta go deal with Thomas before he wakes up our siblings.” 

Peter Pan shrugged. “Whatever makes you happy sis .”

With that, Hannah quickly snatched the doll from him and ran off to tend to the new Lord Tremaine.

Wedding Invitations

A/N: This ficlet is an unedited little thing I wrote last spring (almost a year ago exactly!) after watching "Enemies", when I started thinking about what everyone who knew them circa that time frame might think... this was the result (see! proof of life!)

They’re going over the guest list, sitting by the window so they can hear the distant waves crashing on the shore, when Danny decides to ask.

“Can I ask you something?”

CJ looks up at him, over the top of her reading glasses. “You just did.”

“CJ.”

“Danny, when have you ever held back on asking me something?” When she sees that he still looks uneasy, she takes off her glasses so she can fix him with a look. “What?”

“It’s just this thing I’ve been working over in my head, filling out these invitations… lot of former colleagues on this list.”

“Yours, mine and ours,” she says breezily, reaching over across the table and plucking the list from his hands. “They’re our friends, Danny, what’s so bad about that? I mean, I’m assuming we want people we care about at this thing, right?”

He laughs, some of the tension vanishing from his shoulders, the sun coming in the window catching the silver in his hair. “Right. This thing.”

“You… know what I mean.”

“I do.”

She points her glasses at him. “Remember those words.”

Danny chuckles, and something swells in CJ’s chest like a soap bubble, some glee that she’s tried to suppress time and again, knowing that this is something she’s allowed to have, allowed to keep.

Permanently, even.

“What was your question?”

“Huh?”

“You said you had a question, and then you actually clammed up for once, which I wasn’t sure was actually possible.”

Danny acknowledges the jab with a wry smile, but it fades as he glances back at the guest list. “I guess I just keep thinking about all the people we know who worked with us for years, and what they’re going to think when they get these invitations.”

“I imagine they’ll think we’re in love.”

“It doesn’t bother you?”

“Is that your question?”

“Yeah. All these people we’ve known, people who worked with us and saw us every day, people who will probably be wondering if everything they thought about us was true. Does it bother you?”

CJ thinks on it, pries deep into the archives of her emotions, way back in the day, sepia-toned memories of the first administration, the second, and it doesn’t take long to find the deep swirling black hole of fear.

The conflict of interest had loomed over their heads for years, the knowledge that her friends didn’t want her dating him, she didn’t want to ruin their lives by dating him, and the fact that no matter how much he flirted, Danny probably hadn’t wanted to date her.

But it feels remote now, irrelevant.

CJ smiles, realizing she’s been quiet a few seconds too long, Danny’s brow furrowed with concern as he watches her. “No.”

“No?”

“It doesn’t bother me.”

“… Really?”

“Yes. Really. Who cares?”

“People will think-”

“Really, Danny, I don’t care what they think. I know what happened, and so do you. Besides, it’s not like it’s a conflict of interest now.”

“That’s good, cause I got another question for you.”

“Shoot.”

“Marry me.”

“A, that’s not a question, B, shut up, and C, you already asked me, remember? Hence this veritable tome of a guest list.”

“Veritable tome?” Danny asks, delighted, and CJ rolls her eyes.

“Go away.”

“Only if you come too.”

“That’s called eloping, Daniel.”

“Okay.”

She reaches across the table, squeezing his hand as her engagement ring catches the light. “It really doesn’t bother me, Danny.”

“Okay.”

“Besides, you really think I’d give everyone the satisfaction of making it something tawdry? I’m marrying you. It’s all above board.”

“Sure.”

“What?”

There’s a stupid grin on Danny’s face. “I guess I’m just not used to it yet.”

“Well face the facts, buster. You got the girl.”

“I did. Although why I didn’t win you over the first hundred times…”

“I said yes when it counted, didn’t I?”

It’s a loaded question, one that hangs in the air between them.

Yes to going out with him.

Yes to making the leap together.

And Yes to the last, most important, most on the record question he could ever ask.

“It was the kayaking that got you, wasn’t it?”

“Shut up.”

“Okay.”

They turn back to the guest list, CJ smiling to herself.

“So that’s a no on the kayaking?”

heyy while on the hip hop + rap recommendations subject, ive always been interested but never really known where to start. right now all i listen to is CJ the x, quebrada queer (Brazilian!! super recommend), and definitely putting some more interest in Kendrick Lamar. anyone you'd recommend?

Okay first of all CJ the X is a badass name and second of all I listened to some of his music and I’m definitely getting some Rav vibes! I’d recommend trying a lot of Ravs music but especially listen to ‘Put it Down’ ‘Cinnabar’ and really the entire album ‘Solar Flare’ ! :D

But if you wanna branch out to more rap music then Kendrick lamar is definitely a good start! I suggest listening to the albums I recommended in my last post!! ‘DAMN.’ ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ ‘good kid m.A.A.d. city’ ‘Section.80’ ‘Untitled unmastered’ ect ect. JUST LISTEN TO KENDRICK HES GREAT!!!

Another great artist that I love with all my heart is Danny Brown! His writing is incredible and his beats are so unique! ‘XXX’ was definitely my favourite, but ‘uknowwhatimsayin¿’ ‘The Hybrid’ and ‘Quaranta’ are also amazing and worth listening to! He’s got some weird lyrics but shh just focus on the beat trust me!

I’ve been waiting this whole rant to mention this but if you wanna get into rap PLEASE TRY THE OLDER STUFF!!! 70s-90s!!! There are so many tracks from back then that I’d say still rival the quality of most rap today! One of my favourite albums from back then (which is turning 34 in 2 weeks <3) is ‘Amerikkkas Most Wanted’ By Ice Cube! The storytelling is phenomenal, clear political commentary, amazing yet simple beats, it’s got EVERYTHING a hip hop album should have! It’s everything hip hop should BE! 100% worth listening to, even if you’re not into rap.

I also want to mention this one hip hop group that I absolutely LOVE!!! A Tribe Called Quest! Their music has more of a jazz-y vibe than someone like Ice Cube or Kendrick but nonetheless, still amazing! I’m sure Q-tip and Phife Dawgs unique voices will get you hooked instantly! ‘Midnight Marauders’ and ‘The Low End Theory’ are such incredible albums with every track having a unique beat, yet still keeping the same feel and vibe!

Theres so so so many artists I could go on about for hours, but I’m just gonna keep it short and give you a list of a bunch of pre-2000s songs from my playlist! :)

Cartoon characters you think had the biggest fall off in terms of writing?

Well, can think of a few examples

Vlad Masters from Danny Phantom

This one is quite obvious: He was a pretty interesting villain with unique motivations in the first two seasons and had a specific relationship with Danny that moved his character arc forward. He was a really good foil for Danny in the way their morals clashed.

Then Season 3 comes and sends most of that characterization to the trash, leaving a superficial version of him. He acts more as a generic villain, his motivations seem to change every episode he shows up. He is introduced as main antagonist in the season and barely does anything, with D-Stabilized being the closest you get to that, etc.

I would include Valerie Gray in the spot as well, but honestly i feel like she was more mistreated than her writing ¨fell off¨. She still acts like her usual self in D-Stabilized and it is probably her best episode along with Flirting With Disaster.

2- Marco Diaz from Star vs The Forces of Evil

Marco is a character that was having some pretty solid development in the first two seasons. He even forgave and befriended Star ex-boyfriend who only saw him as a rival. He learned to overcome his own insecurities and date a girl he really liked since he was like 10.

...And around Season 3 he like... started to flirt or date with half of the teenager girl cast. He almost started to gain a harem for all the girls that were into him. Not to mention that he kissed Star when she was dating Tom... after he spent a lot of time trying to be in good terms with him and telling him that he wasn't a thing with Star. That's not to say Star didn't mess it up big but at least she was improving in other areas like helping the monsters.

The writers took a character that was overall likable and turned him into harem dude. It was like they didn't know what to do with him after Season 2 and just matched him with every girl they could think off.

3-Mordecai from Regular Show

This case is well known and self explanatory. He was in general a good character in the first seasons. Then he got tangled in all this romance between Margaret and CJ, he messed it up so badly that CJ never spoke to him again and she didn't appear in the series later on.

The irony is that while Mordecai was getting worse, Rigby was improving in some ways by taking classes and finally graduating from school. He grows into someone more mature and responsible.

And this drama romance in the end didn't seem to have importance later on since Mordecai didn't end up with Margaret, instead he ends up with a bat girl he meets in the time skip montage.

4-Morty Smith from Rick and Morty

This is a bit weird because it isn't that his character got ruined but it feels like in some ways he has regressed to the way he was on Season 1 and Season 2.

I feel like the main issues that many have pointed out is that Rick is allowed to get better, while Morty can't. He can't process his own trauma and the way he is treated by his own family (yes, it isn't only Rick the problem). So he is stuck going back and forth with his evolution as character.

My theory is that, because the show has this thing of trying to keep the status quo, changing Morty too much would mean that the writers have to change his dynamic with Rick and... that would mean the show changing its status quo as well.

5-Charmcaster from the original Ben 10 series

I don't recall that much about her but i do remember she was someone who practiced dark magic and was mistreated by her uncle in the original show. Then in the series that followed she became someone a lot worse?? Like she started killing a lot of people for some reason. It was super weird.

6- Nine from Sonic Prime

I wouldn't call it character assassination. However, he feels like he becomes a very different character from who he was in Season 1 and Season 2.

In Season 1 and 2 he was someone who was looking out for himself. He didn't want to cause harm on purpose and just wished to live in a place he could be safe. He is just a kid who hasn't had the best life and wants someone that can be his friend.

Then in Season 3 he starts putting people in danger intentionally? He actually attacks people and threatens others. There isn't exactly a proper build up to this character change. It just happens.

It doesn't help that he doesn't have that many moments he seems to regret his actions. He just keeps going and going. So when his heel turn comes it feels... cheap, again because there wasn't enough build up to that.

I would include Chloe from Miraculous Ladybug but i haven't watched that series so..

These are the ones that come to my mind at the moment. Maybe there are others that i'm not able to recall at the moment.

Imagining WW Characters being introduced to Noah Kahan’s music:

Likely story is that Gus is the one who hears the songs first and he and Zoey absolutely love them and just know it’ll fit their weird and wonderful family.

Zoey gets some interest first from Ellie, Liz & CJ but it’s when she tells Josh & her dad about the line: “I’m mean because I grew up in New England”, they start listening as a joke fully intending to be insufferable about it and with one song it cuts through quicker and more accurately than any of their therapy

(Which Zoey knew would happen and was biding her time because she loves them but also wants to hit them over the head with a frying pan with how stubborn they can be.)

Then everyone gets in on it (they all should be in therapy lbr) and absolutely relate too hard but love it anyways. Jed grudgingly admits people from Vermont can actually do good things. Abbey never lets him live it down.

Thus follows my interpretation of the characters as songs/what I think they’d resonate with the most. If you can guess my top 5 characters, who are basically all tied, you get a cookie:

How can there be just one? As for who would write it best, me, almost always. That sounds egotistical but I'm just a neurotic control freak who doesn't trust anyone with my vision. That doesn't mean I'm not happy when other people write fics I want to read lol I just can't say someone would be the best. One thought I've had is a houlihawk fic where Margaret volunteers as a nurse in Vietnam because she thinks she can help (supposedly Loretta Swit said she thought Margaret would do that) and comes back all messed up and traumatized and has nowhere to go so she shows up at Hawkeye's door and he balances caring about her while also disagreeing with her volunteering and they navigate their philosophical differences and also have sex.

i'd love to hear any behind the scenes you have on 'say it's here where our pieces fall in place' bc i read it and loved it and i want to know about it 💜

Welp, I've been thinking about this since you sent it and I feel I won't do it justice! I feel like I could say a lot if I went chapter by chapter, but many tabs of unread fics stare back at me. I'll skim and try to say something, though.

Some commentary on say it's here where our pieces fall in place under the cut! I am sick and rambly. And lbr I can never shut up anyway, but this might be too incoherent even for me. (Original ask post here)

It was sort of an unofficial NaNoWriMo project, in that I set myself a goal to tackle “longer fics” or ideas I wanted to cover but hadn't. From my notes, I had this idea to write a ficlet per year because I always enjoy this kind of story, and I know I'd tried to approach different ones in the past. I started writing in late October/finished in Nov 2021. (The other fic I started was never finished, even if dammit, it hits.) I posted it in January, so it wasn't that bad, considering I'll often take months.

It's maybe important to note that I had only finished writing “The Monster (affectionate)” (aka the 148k-ish word IM AU) in early September and I felt a bit burned out after spending five months writing that (would’ve been less but the struggle was real for the last third of the story. Oddly reminiscing of you-know-what story these days). This arbitrary deadline helped me get back into writing. Granted, I wrote a couple of fics in those five months, but I wanted to try another multichapter.

Anyway. I picked some random, perhaps not obvious choices for the vignettes. It was partly to avoid writing something I might have potentially covered at one point, and also a challenge. Some are also strange (the dream!), but I kinda loved it? (Fun fact: the fic references the Sherry-Netherland, whose exterior is the establishing shot in Internal Displacement. I swear there is some thought put into my writing.) And as the A/N I wrote to myself, I definitely wrote and rewrote bits and pieces of this on my way to and from therapy, haha.

Let me find a fun fact about each of the chapters, if I can think of any.

1998: actually repurposed some campaign fic idea I distinctly remember writing in spring 2018, while I was still in uni. It also has GLOVES. I live for that.

1999: I like the idea of exploring Danny and Abbey's relationship! They presumably have a good one and yet, I don't think we ever see them interact. (And god. Danny's recent, pre-campaign breakup is a recurring theme in my campaign stories too, loool.)

2000: Danny and Josh are an underrated friendship, and I like the references to Rosslyn. There was so much in those months in Midterms that we didn't see, and I like thinking Danny visited his friend.

We also got two back-to-back chapters focused on Danny - I remember trying to make it even, so that the focus was more or less evenly split.

2001: the Manchester fuckup! And it's one of the dream chapters! There were two of them? (We're 3 out of 4 in which I was surprised by the focus, but now I kinda want to re-read it all properly?) I'll say that I can see some vague, unconscious inspo from Freefall by KadeeFalls in this chapter (esp since I was just talking to you about it)... But I'm mostly obsessed with the magical realism (there's another term that my foggy brain cannot think of rn) of dreams, and how it can help us clear our heads.

2002: I remembered this was set after Simon! I know it's probably an odd, controversial choice but they both tried to move on (at least, we know CJ did), and it felt disingenuous not to include it. There are moments when she almost admits to her previous (?) feelings for Danny, but stops.

As with most thus far, there were fluffier and probably better choices for 2002 (Christmas!!), but... My brain wanted it to appear like CJ couldn't really bring herself to think about Danny.

2003: Aw, the specialty store is inspired by a franchise over here that had Goldfish (not many flavors) and I took a dramatic license and added it over there. I also added a small flashback because I love thinking Danny doesn't think they're all that but likes them. (But will tease CJ about it.) Plus, some more resolution to moving on!

2004: Yeah, the formatting is weird. (This is one I'd have to go back and do a blockquote or something.) Danny winning a Pulitzer for the Shareef stuff is a mostly accepted headcanon. CJ seeing his picture on the paper and having feels is just something I love, especially if he mentions someone else. (Look. I'm all for letting him pine, but he deserves to move on and fail too.) Plus Josh teasing her!

2005: The Sherry-Netherland! fwiw, I'm sure I had finally figured out this was the place and decided it would be so cheeky to add it here. I'm so sMaRt. Flowers when she gets promoted! And my spin (in this story) of CJ vaguely shunning him. This is the angst before the fluff.

2006: I remembered this one was a dream at some restaurant! (Again the formatting is not great, but I didn't want to tip my obvious hand.) The same way I think CJ's dream in 2001 was about her wondering how Danny would have reacted, this is about Danny realizing he needs to reach out to her... But with the added family ~tale~. Def inspired by that lyric in "Sad Beautiful Tragic."

2007: I feel like having it at some random dinner with Josh and Donna was an odd choice, but I loved the idea of a double date! The scarf scene is just so! And the chaos siblings energy is great. It was a reprieve from the angst.

Meeting at LAX was right there! I had written a story or two trying to do it justice, so I'm guessing that's why it's not. And fwiw the airport story I wrote shortly after that is the one being posted ~soon~. (A rewritten, slightly expanded version.)

2008: Pregnancy mood swings! It hurt to make them fight, but it's so fluffy otherwise. From what I remember, it has various references to things that happen in the story (particularly from the first two chapters) but it still manages to close it rather nicely, showing how strong their marriage is. I hope.

Okay. This has gotten way too long and it's probably useless.

I've always said I could have written another 11 chapters using different scenes, because there are just so many, even outside the obvious ones... Though I feel I wouldn't be able to recapture the magic.

I do definitely want to reread this for real. As with many fics, it's one of those I used to reread often before posting it (especially the last quarter/third) and then just ignored after. See some other recent examples, such as memoir fic, Portland fic.

The character I first fell in love with:  President Josiah Barlet... I mean fuck is that the greatest introduction to a character ever on a show... Yes, yes I think it is.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:  Toby Ziegler. I WAY underestimated him when I first watched this show. I adore his character his demeanor, his expectations of everyone and how let down he always is. "Plus he has one of the greatest lines ever from a TV show"

The dream is for Yuta to walk out with two belts. Realistically, never gonna happen. Hook has never lost clean and after the last loss he shouldn’t lose to shenanigans again. What I do want is for Yuta to bring the monster out of hook. I want this to be a blood bath and for both of them to get the crowd on their feet and chanting fight forever. I want when this match is over for the ftw belt to mean the bloodiest hardcore shit in aew. Hook is most likely winning this but I want it to feel deserved.

Andrade lost the c2 and with CJ still gone after the infection/surgery it would make sense for him to lose because she’s not around to cheer him on and manage him to greatness. This should be miros match to win but it would be great if Andrade mimicked some of miros moves making it seem like CJ might have taught Andrade her own husbands stuff. That’s for commentary to put over but if it’s the usual folks I doubt they’d do that and will most likely be talking about what they had for lunch 🙄

So originally it was gonna be Kyle but I guess now we’re getting Takeshita. Which to me means they didn’t want the losing team to be3 people with belts so they moved him out. Hopefully it’s that and not an injury. Either way fuck this match Takeshita shoulda been in the battle royale. The only good thing about this match is Ricky and Will (Hobbs) being on the same team again and it could be interesting seeing them move fluidly together and Bill like 👀 are you trying to take a big booty princess???? Especially when Ricky makes it such a point that he and bill don’t know each other aren’t close aren’t friends and don’t even have a tag name and it’s all on purpose and by design. 6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Uhhh. That is a good question, because even if I write in angsty/bittersweet scenes, the endings are usually more hopeful or happy.

I guess my best answer to that is "let's do some living (after we die)" only because it's immediately followed by canonical character death. lmao.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? There are any number of stories you could pick for this one, haha. But I guess if I had to pick (twist my arm, why don't you!), then it's probably either "ye who are weary, come home" (OT3 Endgame!!!), OR "Make the Leap" (this one takes place on January 21st, 2007, so that and the title should make it self explanatory 😉)

8. do you get hate on fic? Not... really? Sometimes I'd get comments complaining that I should be writing a different pairing 🤷🏻‍♀️ (which..???) but I don't get much "engagement" to begin with usually, so I'm grateful that what I do get is for the most part positive. 🥰

9. do you write smut? Yep. Nothing super hardcore and not very often (because I am a self-conscious girlie haha) but I will write it. Posting it is another story. I want to do more, it's just getting over myself to do it. (if anyone has advice on how to proceed with getting over my self-consciousness, I'm ALL ears).

10. craziest cross over? I once, in my misspent youth, wrote a crossover between Downton Abbey and Titanic (it's still buried in the depths of my FFN page, alas it is unfinished.)

11. have you ever had a fic stolen? Not as far as I know, no.

12. have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! My one M*A*S*H Fic, "Here's Hoping We Meet Now and Then" (aka BJ puts the "GOODBYE" stones together with the help of the rest of the 4077) was translated into German by a dear friend of mine, Pat. And you can read that here.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before? A few times in the distant past. Once recently (I'm sure you'll all see it soon enough!!) 😈... in general, I love the idea of getting to write with my fellow ficcers whom I cherish and admire, so I'd love to do more co-written fics.

14. all time favorite ship? I'm not picking one lmao. But if I had to? Probably CJ/Danny. They had everything. the chemistry. the will they/won't they. the yearnnnning. (Close runners-up are BJ/Peg/Hawkeye, Anna/Bates, Spirk... and Kate/Gibbs because I don't forget my roots).

15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Triad Wedding. 😬 I got kinda burnt out and (at the time I finished it) went "eh no one will want to read this anyway" so now I have a 125k MASH draft on my desktop. It has... well, everything. Bisexual OT3 wedding. Mucho smut (more than I've ever published in one story before in my LIFE). Communication ✨. etc. It's been two years now, so even though there's a full draft, I don't want to promise that it'll ever be done. It needs a lot of work.

16. what are your writing strengths? Dialogue. I used to be terrified of writing dialogue, and now I think I'm decent at it. Staying in character, maybe?

17. what are your writing weaknesses? Pacing! Ask me why the 125k draft mentioned above is only seven days of in-universe time.

Also I could be better at worldbuilding. I know many authors who flesh out the whole universe and make it feel so breathable and lived in (Mia for example, she's a champ at that!) but that's still a work in progress for me. AND smut. I need to get better/more confident at that, but I've yet to learn how after six-odd years of writing it. 😐

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language? I don't speak enough languages for that. Other authors can do it and do it convincingly. Not me tho.

19. first fandom you wrote in? Lost (baby's first fanfic, still buried in the depths of my FFN page); but I really got into it with Downton Abbey.

20. favorite fic you've written? I could give one of my usual answers about "ye who are weary" (because of the technical achievement of covering so many characters in one story), or "Don't Bet Your Future" (probably my MOST self-indulgent) but instead...

I really enjoyed writing "None of Us Are More Than Caretakers", guys. The season 7 secret relationship is one of my favourite time periods to cover for CJ and Danny, and getting to write this little "missing episode" between Last Hurrah and Institutional Memory was so much fun, and a great technical challenge. Plus it WAS self-indulgent because I got to write all the post-coital scenes we were robbed of in canon AND build up to the events of IM.

Do you have any headcanons about Wendy Darling (and her daughter Jane) in the Descendants universe?

Full disclosure, I don't like Peter Pan. The story and the character. Don't ask me why, I just don't. Same with Pinocchio. Funnily enough, one of my favourite Italian singers, Edoardo Bennato, made an album for each so my ideas of the characters tend to be influenced by his view. I don't know if it's good or bad. Also, I don't remember the second movie at all, except the fact Jane was a relatable character although annoying at first.

Anyway, Wendy Darling.

The Darling siblings put aside their adventure in Neverland after going back home. It was like a weird dream to them, it didn't quite feel real. It taught them a lot and they remember it all happening, but they left it behind, as children often do with formative experiences.

Peter stopped wanting to see her when she became taller than him, he took it as a sign she was a grown-up and was outraged Wendy chose that. She was sad for a while but decided it was okay. Peter would never grow, but she was ready to.

The second movie didn't happen, the war that took Wendy's husband away for a long time did neither. The Darling siblings were marginally involved in the Great Auradon Conflict after the Villains were revived, but that was before Jane was born. Hook saw that Peter didn't care about the Darlings anymore so he let them go after kidnapping them once. After, Wendy still volunteered to help during the conflict, but from the sidelines. This earned her a place among the Heroes, although she isn't considered one of the major ones, and attended Auradon Prep with the princesses.

So! Wendy grew up, became a novelist, and got married to a man who accepted her unusual way of being a lady, because Wendy never quite became like other young ladies of Little London, even if she was greatly respected thanks to her reputation.

Jane (and Danny) grew up with a genuine fear of pirates but that was about it. Her mother's stories were like those of everyone else in Auradon, comforted by the fact all Villains were on the Isle of the Lost. She ended up on Neverland, at some point, but only because Peter heard of her existence and was curious, hence "invited" Jane and Danny - it was more a kidnapping - to Neverland, where she met the fairies and Lost Boys.

When that happened, Wendy rushed to Neverland to take back her kids, she scolded Peter very hard and tried to make him understand how his actions were wrong. Now that she was older and with children of her own, it was easier to find the right words to make him understand stuff he never learned of. She figured out his abandonment issues and promised to go visit him from time to time. Jane, who started to like him too, in a way, did the same.

Jane went to school with the first wave of Hero Kids (Li'l, Derek, Arabella...), not the current one. It means, by the time the VKs arrive, she's not at Auradon Prep anymore.

Jane and Wendy butted heads about Ben's decree at first because of their opposite ideas on nature vs nurture. Wendy thought all kids only need someone to teach them, Jane saw that no matter how hard they all tried to reign in Peter, he never got better. In fact, Jane may be the only one who recognizes the mean streak inside Peter and thinks he's not the hero everyone thinks he is. She's his friend in a more genuine, less idealistic way than any of Peter's other friends ever was. If Peter will ever choose to grow up, it will be because (or for) of Jane.

That said, Jane isn't against the VKs, in general, or them coming to Auradon. She only thinks if some of them are genuinely mean-spirited, they'll stay so even in a better place, but she also thinks they deserve a chance to show who they are before they are judged.

Jane will get along with Harriet quite fine, as Harriet is the proof she needed that not all people are doomed by their character. If she had met Harry first, she may have never changed her mind, though.

Also, she thinks CJ is as mental as Peter and is glad the two of them don't like each other because Auradon would be doomed if they paired up.

Ones True Self

Sergio very early in season one learns about his biological father's past learning his biological father was a thief. This makes him feel like he may turn into his father, though never really knowing his father. He spirals and his best friend Jackson Pax makes time to talk with Sergio about the ongoing story a different journalist is plotting to get Sergio removed from the White House but with the help of CJ Cregg the story is snuffed out.

Adoption and Mental Health

Sergio at the start of season three is adopted by Leo McGarry as their father and son bond is strong, Leo gave this surprise on Sergio's birthday. Though very excited that he'll be a part of a good family, he tries to be Roman Catholic but some of his views points do not follow that religion. So after a few months of emotion and spiritual stress he and Leo have a very long and emotional conversation about how Sergio needs to find what's best for him not to try to do something that he thinks would just make Leo proud.

The Fist Fight

When he, Donna, Josh and Toby are stuck/lost, he and Toby talking about religion and he started to think Judaism may be the best religion for him. Toby on the other hand doesn't think that Sergio's religious choice should be in a spur of the choice this leads to a poor attempt of them getting into a fist fight causing Sergio to miss a call from Sam Seaborn.

It is later when they are in the bar, Sergio listens to Sam's voicemail -

“Jackson is gone...he...he, he's dead...I tried Toby and Josh but they didn't answer...I just please call me when you get a chance...„ Sam's voice was full of emotion in the voicemail...Sergio turns his head about call over Josh and Toby but stops himself and calls Sam back as he headed outside

The Loss of Jackson Pax

Sergio's newspaper wants him to write a story about Jackson Pax's untimely passing. Sergio writes drafts and drafts of articles and he hates every single one of them. He asks Danny Concannon for help with how to write the memorial article but it is ultimately CJ Cregg who truly helps Sergio out.

The loss of Leo McGarry

Sergio loses his phone and is uninformed of Leo's heart attack for most of the day. He doesn't get to see Leo in the hospital at all, he finds his phone and calls Molly and is told that Leo is gone. He lets his anger over take him in that moment and he hangs up and screams, just screams so loud that his neighbors call the police.
