Do you have any advice how to draw as fluidly and free handedly like you? You art feels very "free" in a way

hii this is one of the best compliments I’ve gotten because I’m always so worried about my art looking stiff <3 I wish I could give you a lot of Good Advice but mostly I’m doing processes I don’t understand.

Mostly I think of things as Basic Shapes and Lines. Usually not refined at all because I don’t worry about any details until later.

That’s why a lot of my sketches look like this. No worrying about correctness or detail or anything. These are my Form Creatures. I am getting down a Pose as quickly and messily as possible

ALSO. A lot of the time my first sketch is actually my lineart I just clean it up a bit. But also a lot of the time I do a Second Sketch, which is NOT lineart because it’s just as loose-handed and messy, but I can comfortably clean it up along the way. I don’t know if that makes sense though.

and. If I’m doing poses I’ve never done before I go through the extremely tedious process of literally drawing them over and over and over again until I finally feel like the result is not stiff enough. I frequently draw the same drawing/pose 3-5 different times. It helps me get more used to it so it’ll come more naturally, I guess??

I’m really sorry I wish I could give more advice but again I’m Mostly fucking around. I would say Be Messy with it. Also sometimes I do gesture drawings or form studies and I think those probably help. But who is to say
