life with an aging herding dog: she wakes up from a doze to find me gone and works her methodical search pattern of the house (bedroom, couch, back room, kitchen, bathroom, mud room) while I walk just behind her, giving a full commentary, waiting for her to turn around

#it’s like she’s the hapless protagonist of a cozy horror game #I finished my chore and now she’s asleep again #getting home from work now is fun #I make sure she’s breathing and then move the gate #then go do something else and see how long it takes her to notice I’m home #anyway I’m halfway through slowly moving bedrooms #all cat stuff except the tower and some toys have been transferred to their new homes (mostly the reptile room)#most craft stuff is in the reptile room (just have to figure out what to do with costumes until the yard sale frees up space)#I’ll need to switch living room furniture to accommodate the cat tower #and I think I’m gonna swap console-shelves
