[excerpt from] I know you (even if you don't want me to) - chapter seven
since I'm hearing how hungry y'all are (cough @aliyahtheghost + @breeleroux especially), here's the start of chapter seven of I know you (even if you don't want me to) -- Ryan's recovery period is nearly up, so Batwoman is (almost) back bbs. Read on for some roommate talk into some WildMoore texting goodness. This chapter is a true fav.
(includes some talk of police brutality / Crow brutality + violence)
Ryan hops from one foot to the other. She keeps the pressure mostly on the pads of her feet. Light and nimble. Finally back at full form with only one day left in her two week recovery period. She’d do a flip if it wouldn’t make Mary’s head explode. Or disrupt the perfect tuck of her Center Volunteer shirt. Then again, Mary does anxiously hover in the doorway of Ryan’s bathroom. Maybe she’ll explode on her own.
“Mary, seriously?” Ryan reaches for her favorite purple lipstick. “I’m making mocktails and guarding the punch bowl. I’m not even dancing. Doctor’s orders.”
The doctor in question stabs a finger out at Ryan. Mary manages to look menacing even in her little scrubs. “If you so much as think about doing the Wobble—” She stomps into the bathroom.
It’s truly one of the greatest dances of all mankind. Ryan crosses her lipstick tube across her heart.
Mary continues, “I’m leaving you to climb up the stairs on your own. No ice pack, or pain meds, or anything.” Mary takes a deep breath. “Fortunately for you….” She walks over to Ryan to adjust the hair on Ryan’s shoulder. “I know someone who might help you out. Depending on how well your side mission is going.”
If they can call Ryan talking to Sophie a side mission. Ryan applies her lipstick and rubs her lips together.
Mary bats expectant eyes towards the mirror. “You’ve been getting along. Can I draft up the offer letter?”
Ryan smacks her lips. “She’s still a Crow, Mary.”
“A Crow you spent, like, all of yesterday on the phone with.”
Ryan didn’t spend all of yesterday on the phone with Sophie. In the morning, they texted about how awful the playlist for the dance might be. Then they swapped bad songs in the afternoon. Ryan’s personal favorite was a religious remix of ‘The Thong Song’ that truly had to be a parody. (“That God, Go-God, God, God.”) Then they told their personal dance horror stories after Sophie was off work. There were breaks.
Before Ryan can defend herself, her phone lights up from beside the sink. Sophie’s name flashes, and Ryan’s got her phone in her hands in seconds. Mary snorts.
Crowphie to Ryan Have fun making Shirley Temples all night. Here’s hoping someone will forget their school ID so there’s some action at the ticket table
Ryan leans her hip into the sink as she types.
Ryan to Crowphie 👀 You’re looking for action at a school dance?
Crowphie to Ryan Oh yeah, fingers crossed my crush saves me a slow one.
It’s a joke. It has to be, but Ryan thinks back to each near moment between them and feels hope and heat in her cheeks.
Ryan to Crowphie Too bad Batwoman doesn’t do dances
Crowphie to Ryan That’s probably for the best. We’re not on the best terms right now.
Not since the night Sophie rejected Batwoman. The night of “Figure that out, and get back to me. Until you do, I’m done.” Did she really mean that?
Ryan to Crowphie What happened there? She miss a signal flip this week?
Crowphie to Ryan haven’t used it. I doubt she’d want me to. I think I hurt her feelings.
That’s an understatement.
Mary clears her throat behind Ryan. Ryan glances up into the mirror to see Mary’s reflection. The teasing grin matches the tilt in Mary’s voice as she says, “You were saying? About not texting Sophie all day?”
Ryan narrows her eyes as dramatically as she can. “Don’t you have lives to save?”
Mary backs away. “Fine, go back to texting, just think about how much fun you could have talking to Sophie on the comms if she were part of the team.”
Ryan can’t help the sarcasm. “Because me and Luke have so much fun?”
“Obviously it’d be a different kind of fun. Less brother-sister fighting and more….” Mary pauses to think and cringes at whatever she thinks of. Ryan turns around to gently push Mary out of her bathroom.
“Good night, Mary!” she says before closing the door behind her roommate. She probably should’ve stepped out there too, come to think of it. Her phone buzzes again though.
Crowphie to Ryan I do miss going up to the roof. You know, feeling like I’m a part of something, even if I never will be
Ryan drops down onto the stool in the bathroom. It’s an accessibility aid that’s kind of perfect for moments like this. She can take her time. Process without having to actually move around in here. Close her eyes and remember what the wind of the rooftop felt like against her cheeks. With the suit tight to her body and all of Gotham below them. Sophie looks amazing up there.
Ryan to Crowphie You could go flip the signal. Send out that city-wide ‘you up?’ Or an actual you up since you have her number.
Sophie hasn’t texted Batwoman once in the last two weeks.
Crowphie to Ryan You don’t understand.
Ryan chuckles. She’s the only other person that could.
Ryan to Crowphie No, I get it. You could text her if you wanted to talk. Going up there would mean that you want to see her. You want to be with her.
Want to touch her the way Ryan did that night on the roof. The pads of her fingers over Sophie’s waist, their faces so close that it’s a wonder Sophie hasn’t recognized her yet. It goes to show that Sophie’s not that into Ryan as Ryan. Hasn’t memorized the way her jaw sits, or the shade of her eyes.
Crowphie to Ryan yeah
Yeah what? Yeah which? Because Sophie didn’t say it back.
Ryan to Crowphie So you admit it? You want Batwoman?
The typing dots come and go, then come again. Maybe it’s not about Batwoman at all. Maybe Sophie just wants to make out on the roof and be a part of the team. She wants to be Batwoman’s friend with benefits and can’t bring herself to admit it. Fine. Don’t admit anything.
Ryan to Crowphie Can’t blame you. She looks good in the suit 😏 — probably looks good out of it too lol
A perfect cop out for the cop.
Crowphie to Ryan If I wanted to see her without the mask, I could have. We flew together, remember?
Ryan tenses. A painful chill zips down her spine. Does Sophie know? Has she known all this time?
Crowphie to Ryan I didn’t look then because it’s not about her looks or who’s behind the mask. She makes me think. Both Batwomen have. 1.0 got me suspended. It’s the closest I’ve ever come to leaving the Crows. But it wasn’t about everyone then, you know? Jacob Kane hated Batwoman, and I really liked her. Those couldn’t exist at the same time. Meanwhile, 2.0 will not remove her boots from my neck. She’s like you in that way. She takes every opportunity to question my loyalty to the Crows and the people of Gotham. I just wish I knew if I was doing the same. If I was more than just another compromise for her
Fuck, it’s a good thing that they’re texting. Ryan’s whole face burns with that message. Since when is Sophie questioning anything? She never wavers.
Ryan to Crowphie Your Crow-workers beat the shit out of Batwoman 1.0, and you stayed.
Crowphie to Ryan Where else was I supposed to go? The GCPD? I *HATE* what they did, but that will NEVER happen again.
Ryan to Sophie And if it does?
She’s being generous by not saying “when it does.”
Crowphie to Ryan Then I slap my resume on the Bat-signal and hope she doesn’t throw it in the shredder.
Ryan to Crowphie Much more fun to use it for target practice.
Crowphie to Ryan Throw a bunch of Batarangs at it?
Ryan to Crowphie See, you get it 😉
Crowphie to Ryan It’s important to me that little Black girls can see women like us in law enforcement and positions of powers. I want them to know that they can save the world if they want to. It’s not their responsibility, but if it’s their purpose? If protecting people makes them happy, then I want them to know that they are not alone out there. They can make a difference.
There are so many other ways to make a difference. Ryan might have to let Sophie have this for now though. Her heart’s in the right place at least.
Ryan to Crowphie And if that doesn’t work out, there’s always being a ticket taker for a community dance. Shine that flashlight. Ruin somebody’s night!
Crowphie to Ryan Wowww. Spoken like a trouble maker.
Ryan to Crowphie Trouble finds me, okay? No need to worry about me, Agent Moore.
Crowphie to Ryan You sure about that? Your kids might try to fight you, just to see if you’ve still got it.
Ryan to Crowphie Oh I’ve got it. They’ll be too busy following you around to even notice me. Ol’ “Miss Sophie, Miss Sophie” punk asses
Crowphie to Ryan LOL. Ten bucks says they ask me where Batwoman’s been hiding.
Ryan to Crowphie Twenty says they don’t.
Crowphie to Ryan Easy money. You can drop it off at the lobby on your way in 😉
.
.

Bulletproof
(So this turned out to be way longer than I originally planned. I wanted to do a take on what if Ryan had gotten shot instead of Luke and it was spurred from a prompt from Aliyahtheghost,)
Ryan and Sophie had decided to share an Uber when they left the jail. Luke was heading to the batcave but Ryan needed to go and check on The Hold up to grab something before heading to meet him. They walked in silence, both feeling self conscious and guilty about the conversation that they had earlier. They both had valid points, but how you handle a racist ass system that was a threat to you and anyone who looked like you would never have a clear and perfect answer. What was bothering Sophie recently was that she was starting to feel like Ryan might have been more right than she was willing to admit.
“For the record, again. I hope you know, I wasn’t saying that any of this was your fault Ryan…I wasn’t blaming you.”
Sophie wanted to make that clear as they reached the location the Uber was supposed to pick them up.
“Damn sure felt like it…”
She argued.
“If I hadn’t touched him, which was a direct reaction of him grabbing me like he was about to take out the afternoon trash...what was I supposed to do?”
Sophie stopped and turned around.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. Ryan I know this system is messed up but...”
They were interrupted by the sound of a woman screaming. From what they could tell, it was coming from an alley that was across the street. Of course they both sprang into action and immediately took off running in the direction of the screams which were followed by a gunshot. There was little time to react to the sound before they reached the entry of the alley. Ryan was almost knocked over when a man ran right into her, pushing past her and Sophie.
“Go help her! I’m going after him!”
Ryan pointed at the woman who was lying in the middle of the alley. There wasn’t any time for Sophie to object before Ryan took off after him.
“Be careful!”
Sophie yelled to her before she ran down the alley to assist the woman.
“Hey...Miss….hey stay with me!”
She knelt down, taking off her jacket to create a makeshift pillow for her head. Sophie pulled out her phone to call 9-1-1 but quickly realized that her phone had died while they were in lock up.
“Shit.”
She checked her pulse, it was weak but it was there if she didn’t get her help soon, she wasn’t going to make it. Not knowing what else to do, Sophie rose to her feet and ran back down the alley screaming for help, to find someone with a phone or at least Ryan. As she entered the street she spotted a large black SUV coming in her direction. The closer she got, she realized that it was a Crows issued vehicle.
“Hey! Stop, Help!”
The SUV stopped a few yards away from her once she was spotted which was bizarre to her but she didn’t have time to put much thought into it as the doors swung open and those who occupied it stepped out. All holding their weapons already as if they were ready for war. It was Tavaroff and his lackeys.
“Hey, stay right there!?”
He yelled at her with his hand already positioned on his gun.
“What the hell are you doing? It’s Sophie…”
She foolishly explained that although he wasn’t so far away from her he shouldn’t have recognized her, it was the automatic benefit of the doubt programming that had failed her common sense in that moment.
“I need you to call 9-1-1, there’s a woman that’s been shot.”
He reached for his dispatch communicator as if he was going to do what she asked but the message that he sent out was completely different than what the situation actually was.
“Tavaroff...I’m at the scene of a black female, covered in blood, seems to be having a mental break….a weapon has been spotted.”
“Wait...what?”
“PUT YOUR WEAPON DOWN MA’AM”
***
Ryan was making her way back to Sophie after not being able to catch the man that she was after, when she saw her standing in the middle of the street with her hands up and a gun point, her heart began to race. This was a scene that had been seen all too many times. She took off running toward Sophie.
“TAVAROFF, YOU WON’T GET AWAY WITH THIS! YOU’RE NOT THIS STUPID, DON’T DO THIS!”
His hatred for her ran deep. To him she and Jacob were the weaknesses that kept the Crows from being what he thought it should have been.
“OH BUT I WILL…”
Sophie’s heart was beating so fast as she watched his finger hug the trigger of his gun. Was this it, what she about to die at the hands of a soldier that she herself helped train that was supposed to represent an organization that she had spent the last 5 years defending to everyone around her. Was this her karma for being so naive and turning a blind eye to the corruption that she saw even if it was for the greater good. Was this it?”
Her eyes closed in preparation of feeling the hot steel piercing through her body, not knowing that she was about to be saved by the one person in the world that might have had a reason to hate her more than Tavaroff. She heard the pop of the gun.
“SOPHIE!”
At the sound of her name being so desperately screamed her eyes opened just as she felt a heavy impact into her body that forced her to the ground. Everything happened so fast that it took her a second to realize that she hadn’t been hit by a bullet because there was a body on top of her. Ryan’s body.
“Oh my god! Ryan!”
Frantically she turned over, laying Ryan’s body against the pavement. Panic set in from the sight of her blouse quickly becoming soaked in blood. The screech of tires forced her to look back and realize that Tavaroff and his goons were speeding off.
“Ryan, hold on!”
Ryan’s phone had fallen out of her pocket to the side of the when Sophie flipped her over, she grabbed it and called 9-1-1.
“Sophie?! Oh my god...Ryan….what happened?!”
Imani came out of nowhere, she was just now walking out of the jail because she had gotten a phone call that kept her behind.
“Where’s your car??!”
Sophie went past her question. Her only concern right now was getting Ryan to the hospital.
“It’s down the street…”
Sophie scooped her arm under Ryan’s neck and the other under her legs and lifted her up. She already knew that the woman in the alley was gone at this point, there was no way in hell she was going to lose Ryan too. She followed behind Imani holding an unconscious Ryan in her arms, she opened the door and Sophie carefully laid her in the back and told Imani to get in the back with her before taking her keys. She knew she could drive fast enough to get her to the hospital in time.
Within seconds they were speeding down the street, toward the hospital. You see shit like this everyday on TV, innocent black people getting shot down for no reason at all but it’s still unbelievable and a hard shock to your system when you find yourself on the receiving end of something like this. As she drove, all Sophie could hear was Ryan’s constant warnings to her about the Crows, that they were stone cold murderers. It made her sick to think about all the times that she opened her mouth to defend them, to skate around what she was trying to get her to see.
Ryan saved her life. She risked her life and could die because of her. Because of her constant defense of these monsters and she had no idea why. Why would she put herself in harm's way for her?
Imani’s 2019 Toyota Camry came to a screeching halt in front of the ER doors. Sophie jumped out, leaving the car door open and ran inside screaming for help. In minutes there were a team of doctors that were surrounding the car and transporting Ryan to a gurney before urgently rushing her inside. Sophie and Imani ran after them but were stopped before they could enter the doorway they had taken her though.
“You have to wait here!”
A nurse told them. They both stood there, covered in Ryan’s blood in a world of disbelief.
“What the hell happened?”
Imani wanted an answer this time.
“She saved my life…”
Those were her only words as anger began to course through her veins replaying the moment over again in her mind. She wasn’t going to let Tavaroff get away with this. He was going to pay for this and she was going to make sure that she took the entire Crows organization down in the process.
“I need to call Mary and Luke..”
She suddenly remembered. Imani pulled out her phone and handed it to her. As she called them and relayed the devastating news, she just couldn’t believe it. Naturally both were freaking out and on their way to the hospital in a hurry. In the hours that passed once Mary and Luke joined Sophie and Imani, there was a feeling of numbness that washed over them all. Even though Imani was still in the early stages of getting to know Ryan, it only took a few seconds of meeting her to know how special she was.
Sophie sat racked with guilt and grief of how she could have handled the situation differently, what she could have said or done. But there wasn’t anything, there was nothing that she could have said or done that would have changed Tavaroffs mind and made him put his gun down. That’s exactly what Ryan was trying to say earlier. A reason wasn’t needed. No matter how nice you played with a poisonous snake, it was going to bite you. That’s what they do.
“I can’t just sit here, we have to do something…”
Luke finally spoke up.
“They said it would be hours before we knew anything, maybe we should go to the batcave and figure out how to make the Crows pay for this…”
Mary suggested. She had repeatedly tried to reach her father but had been unsuccessful which further infuriated both her and Sophie and left them to wonder if he was somehow going to help cover this up, like everything else.
“Look!”
Imani pointed at a small screen within the waiting area. Ryans face was plastered on the screen.
“How the hell did it reach the news already?”
They all knew the answer to that already. The Crows were getting ahead of the story before any of them would have the chance to even think about breathing the truth. The story that the news was spinning was that Ryan was suspected of being high on Snakebite and pulled a weapon and was then shot. It didn’t make any sense being that she was shot in the back but of course the footage wasn’t currently available and all they had to go on was the word of the Crows. They were all enraged.
“This is not happening…”
Luke shook in frustration before turning to Sophie.
“Ryan was right, but they’re not going to get away with this, not this time!”
“Where are you going?”
Mary asked, becoming worried because of the look on his face as he snatched up his coat.
“To suit up..”
His tone was full of vengeance as he rushed out of the hospital waiting room. Mary didn’t know what to do, she didn’t want him going and getting himself hurt but she didn’t want to leave without knowing what was going on with Ryan. Sophie touched her shoulder, being able to read the confusion in her face.
“Go after him, I’m not leaving here. I won’t leave her side, I promise.”
She wasn’t going to be able to step foot outside of that hospital until she knew that Ryan was going to be okay, and then she would deal with The Crows and specifically Tavaroff.
***
“Ryan Wilder, how is she?!”
Sophie leapt to her feet as soon as she saw the doctor that had gone back with Ryan when they first brought her in.
“She’s stable. The bullet missed all major organs. She’s a lucky girl, an inch to the left and we’d be having an entirely different conversation.”
The breath that she didn’t even realize she had been holding was finally relieved.
“Can I see her?”
“In a few hours, she’s not awake yet, but we 'll send a nurse for you as soon as she's awake.”
The doctor excused himself and gave Sophie an opportunity to call Mary and Luke to update them. When she reached them, Mary had managed to talk Luke down temporarily until they found out how Ryan was.
“Tell Luke, to just get information on Tavaroff. I am going to handle him. That bullet was meant for me, I want to be the one to take him down. It needs to me.”
Sophie stressed. Luker conceded in the background allowing her to take the reins on dealing with Tavaroff and the Crows. It was another hour before Ryan was awake and as promised a nurse came to get her and Imani once she was. Sophie went in first. Walking in, she’d never been so grateful for the glare that she was receiving. Although it was only out of the pain that she was in. She stood next to Ryan’s bed struggling to find the word to really convey how sorry that she was that this happened but how insanely happy and relieved she was that she was okay.
“Thank you.”
That needed to be said before anything..
“I couldn’t let anything happen to you...I wanted the rest of my apology.”
A weak smile curled on her lips and accompanied her strained voice, a result of the tube that had been down her throat earlier. Sophie couldn’t understand how she even could think to smile, after what happened to her, let alone joke.
“Ryan, you could have died. Don’t you understand that? Why did you jump in front of that bullet...for me?”
There was a pause for her to clear her throat. As fast as everything happened she knew she couldn’t just stand by and let something happen to Sophie and as terrified as she was, there was one thought that gave her a moment's comfort as she jumped in front of her.
“I was okay with the idea of seeing my mom again…”
She confessed.
“But I also knew that even if Batwoman was no longer around, Gotham city still had a superhero that would make sure the city would be okay and she didn’t need a mask…”
She heard what Sophie was saying earlier. Sophie cupped Ryan’s hand in hers, while she continued.
“We don’t agree 90% of the time, and we don’t have too but I do consider you a friend at this point Sophie. You’ve been helping the bat team, I know I can trust you. I told you months ago, that I fight for the people I care about and sometimes that looks like me fighting with them or taking a bullet for them”
Words had left her. If you would have told her that Ryan would go from despising her very existence to putting her life on the line to protect it, she would have been sure that you were drinking Snakebite by the gallons. But it was true.
“I’m not going to let Tavaroff get away with this? And whatever you need when you get out of here, I got you. I’m going to take care of you”
She promised her.
“Because believe it or I fight for the people I care about Ryan. And it’s not just because I know now that you’re Batwoman. I was wrong about you, but I saw that before I ever found out that you were behind that mask. That only confirmed what I had already figured out and it made so much sense. Ryan Wilder is willing to do anything to protect someone that she feels needs her or can’t protect themselves, of course she would be Batwoman.”
Softly she smiled. They held a gaze that was filled with too many emotions to be deciphered in that moment, neither knowing that Imani was standing in the doorway watching them. She was unable to hear what they were saying but even without the words she could see the chemistry that Jordan warned her about. The hopes that she might have had about Ryan coming around later on and being willing to have something more with her were quickly dashed.
They seemed so different from what she knew of the both of them, especially with Sophie being a Crow but watching them now though she knew Jordan was right. Maybe they couldn’t see it yet, but whatever their differences were it gave them an energy that you had to take notice of when they were around each other. The saying opposites attract was a thing for a reason. Quietly since she could see that Ryan was okay and in good hands she made her exit.
***
Sophie sat with Ryan until Mary came to be with her and then she and Luke went to handle Tavaroff and the Crows. Sophie knew that Tavaroff probably erased the footage from his physical body cam but there was a backup file that would be stored for a certain amount of time within an internal system for a short amount of time and they had to get to it. They came up with a plan for her and Luke to retrieve that footage before it was too late.
“I’ll watch for Tavaroff”
She told Luke. They were standing outside of the operations room that was located in the basement, it was also where she knew Tavaroff and his buddies liked to have secret meetings so she was sure that he was probably around somewhere.
“We have 12 minutes.”
She told him. He set his watch and went inside. Not even a second after he went inside she spotted Tavaroff going into a room. She tapped on the door, that was a signal that she came up with. If she stepped away she would tap on the door so he knew to be on alert and she would tap it twice if he needed to hurry up. Sophie cautiously made her way down the hall toward the room she spotted him going into. She placed her hand on the knob and looked back to make sure that no one was around before turning and peaking inside. He was alone.
“I told you, you wouldn’t get away with it.”
Her voice surprised him as she shut the door behind her and locked it. He turned around, a smug grin sitting on his face.
“Nobody is going to believe you. Your little girlfriend already had a record and had just been released from jail. Who do you think they're going to believe, me or a nobody?”
That pissed her off. Sophie had grabbed her gun from home in case she needed it but this, she was going to take her time and enjoy it. He watched her as she pulled it out of her holster and sat it on the table. He smirked at her confidence that she could stand a chance against him, forgetting that she was who trained him. Tavaroff removed his gun as well. His arrogance would be his downfall.
“I’ve been waiting on this..bitch”
He said as he moved the table out of the way. She looked at her watch. She had 10 minutes, that was enough time. He lunged at her, to grab her by her neck. Sophie brought her arms up, sending her elbows crashing down into his arms to break the brief hold that he held. She took the heel of her hand and drove it into his face causing him to stumble backwards. Blood spilled from his nose from her hit. Angrily he charged forward, pushing her into a wall. Her knee came up and checked him in his groin, before her elbow connected with the side of his face again this time sending him to the floor. Sophie jumped on top of him, the emotion of the past few hours, being the driving force behind the repeated bunches he received to his face. Somehow he managed to reach for a trash can that was on the floor next to them and swung it, hitting her in the side and knocking her off of him. Quickly he scrambled to his feet and grabbed Sophie by her arms. He yanked her up off the ground and pinned her to the table with his hands around her throat. For a moment she struggled to get free under the weight of his body before pushing the thumbs of her hands into his eyes. He screamed, loosening his grip and that gave her the opportunity to get free, punching him in the face, knocking him back and grabbing a metal chair that sat near them.
“Enjoy your vacation in Blackgate.”
She told him before she swung around and hit him, knocking him out cold.
“Bitch”
The blood that had pooled in her mouth, she spit it out and looked at her watch. 3 minutes to spare. Quickly she made her way out the room just as Luke was coming out as well.
“I got it!”
He told her.
“Good now let’s get outta here”
She said before anyone came and saw them. As soon as they made their way out of there, Sophie called the hospital to let Ryan know that they had succeeded and that she was going to make sure that the Crows were over for good.
“I took a bullet for you, I never doubted you for a second.”
Ryan’s told her.
“I still expect you to take care of me though..”
She teased which just made Sophie smile but she was going to be more than happy to do it.
(I REALLY wanted Sophie to be able to kick Tavaroff’s ass too lol)

If I ever see Walrus, it’s on sight.
What’s really getting me is how not even 24 hours after Javicia shares with us those heartfelt, honest, raw, and emotional things about her experience so far on Batwoman, that fukin Mayo Monster just has to come insert herself into the conversation AGAIN and basically show us EXACTLY what Javicia was talking about. We’d all started to pick up on it already and obviously Javicia had too. She literally had to get off socials, unfollow Walter to distance herself from the unsupportive posts she kept sharing and then Waldo decides to still get on twitter not even 24 hours later and run her fuckin mouth. Like it’s the Caucasity for me!!!
She mocked the whole situation like it was a big fukin joke, NOBODY else got on socials to do that shit but her. If anyone did get it on it was to support Javica and the other Black women, or it was to share the video they made. But no this bish just had to once again make it about herself and egg on her fans to CONTIUNE to post nonsense about Javicia and try to gaslight us all in the process. Like bish it’s actually quite simple. If you actually cared for Javicia you would be outraged by the accusations, you wouldn’t laugh about it and block everyone who called you out. ANYONE defending her can have a seat right next to her on the racist train. Javicia doesn’t deserve this!! Like fukin get over it Walmart. You’re not Batwoman, you were NOT the first choice or even the fukin second choice. Figure out how to keep a job instead of worrying about what Javicia is doing.
Yall what we not finna do is sit by while Walnut (thanks @aliyahtheghost )keeps bullying Javicia and harassing her and trying to make her leave. WE WILL stand up for Javicia any chance we get, we will support her, show her love, and continue to call out the racist bullshit.
#walnut got the right ones tonight honey#javicia leslie#cw racism#ryan wilder#fandom racism#candice patton#anna diop

@aliyahtheghost @thundergrace Apparently the cast didn't talk about S3 at the panel. They all were speaking about how important the lgbt rep is for them, and Meagan in particular was very vocal and passionate about its importance.
Rachel also spoke about the challenges of handling Alice's mental illness with care.

Ryan 👀 jk jk jk 😅
My word is: Eyes
(It is very easy to find these in the same sentence lol)
Ryan x Sophie excerpt from more like mud cute (an AU where Ryan never got arrested and she finds Sophie in the mud; I'm still debating if this will be a multi-chap or just cover the early parts of their interactions).
send me a word, and I'll post part of a draft that has it. [challenge now done]
A screech of tires draws Ryan's eyes up. She has the sound off in her van most nights. It's less about conserving power and more about keeping the Wonderland and False Face gangs from sneaking up on her. Or worse, the state sanctioned gangs, like the Crows and GCPD.
She sinks lower onto her bed to peer out the window as an unmarked van rips into the quarry. The van never even stops. A masked False Face member opens the back doors and shoves a person out into the mud. They yank the doors closed and peel off without a second wasted.
"Shit." Ryan gives it a moment to make sure they're not coming back before pushing open her doors and running towards the abandoned body. "Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead."
The person's got long, black hair. Formal clothes. Possibly Black, but it's hard to tell until Ryan gets over to them. They're curled on their side -- probably a last move to protect themself. Ryan refuses to squat down and come face to face with a dead body right now, so she gives a little kick to the person's leg.
Immediately, they give a sharp cry and attempt to roll over. The shift from their side to their back reveals that the formal wear is a Crows uniform. Their ridiculous pin glints under the moonlight. Even worse, Ryan recognizes the person too. Agent Sophie Moore. Their second-in-command who personally arrested Ryan's ex last year.
Long story short: Angelique -- her addict ex -- had a very bad night where Ryan took off with her stash to try and keep it under control. Angelique went out to try and find Ryan. Ran into Agent Moore, resisted arrest, and got brought in to 'sober up.' The only sobering thing about it was that Angelique broke up with Ryan the moment Ryan bailed her out. Something about needing someone who wouldn't put her in this position again.
Ryan huffs at the memory, then kicks Agent Moore’s leg again. Moore groans, but her eyes actually open this time. She croaks out, “Help… me.”
Ryan rolls her eyes. “You think I walked over here to watch?”
Moore tries to sit up, but she cries out the moment she does. Clearly the guys roughed her up before tossing her out of a moving vehicle.
Ryan squats down to her level, careful to keep at least a bit of distance from her.“Do Crows have fleas? I’m just wondering if it’s safe for me to carry you back to my van.”
Moore actually glares at Ryan. Ryan glares right back and says, “There’s a clinic not too far from here, but I’m only taking you if you promise not to shut it down. Otherwise, I’ll do like your buddies there and drop you at Gotham General all the way across town. You hear me?”
“I… promise….”
Ryan goes to stand, and Moore’s hand jumps out for hers. She misses, grasping onto Ryan’s fingers with her own cold ones. Is she anemic or just dying? There’s a panic in her eyes as they lock onto Ryan’s.
Ryan softens her tone. “I’m not leaving. I just need to move my van closer. I can’t carry you all the way over without upsetting all of… that.” She also needs to lie some towels down. Try calling ahead if the clinic number is still working. “Just wait. I’ll be back. I promise.”
Moore does not want to let go. Ryan has to pry Moore’s fingers off, and okay, the spike of urgency kicks in for her a lot stronger after that too. Mama Cora didn’t get to go to the clinic. Her mama couldn’t — she didn’t even make it out of the apartment. Ryan’s breath shakes as she tries to keep her pulse steady. Keep it together. No panic. Not now. Somebody needs her.
“I’ll be right back.”

Full of shit and in too deep. A Wildmoore fic
This is a prompt request that I got from @aliyahtheghost : “Sophie and Ryan have been messing around for a couple months when Kate Kane returns. Sophie basically breaks up with Ryan. Ryan is heartbroken while Sophie can’t stop thinking about Ryan while with Kate. What will Sophie do?.” So I didn’t completely fulfill this because I do not want Sophie breaking up with Ryan for Kate and also didn’t want to write Sophie and Kate being romantic. I tired to make it similar to what you asked. <3 If y’all like imagine me and you please read to the end I know it’s long ish but I’m geeked about the ending.
Ryan lets out a soft whimper as she feels Sophie pepper delicate kisses onto her neck. Ryan tilts her head back against the pillow and then drops her right hand into Sophie’s hair to keep Sophie’s head and lips in place against her neck. She runs her fingers through Sophie’s hair while Sophie darts out her tongue against Ryan’s throat. She licks and then sucks Ryan’s skin; leaving wet marks and eventual hickeys in her wake.
“FUCK, Sophie!” Ryan mutters while biting her own lip to keep from yelling out again. Sophie chuckles against Ryan’s throat and the vibration of her laugh nearly sends Ryan over the edge. Ryan and Sophie were playing one of Ryan’s favorite games. It was sort of like too hot, where they see who can get the other hot before they have to just rip each others clothes off. Ryan always loses and starts unbuttoning Sophie’s pants or trying to take off Sophie’s top within minutes. Sophie thinks Ryan doesn’t even try very hard to win.
Sophie feels Ryan start to move her hands towards Sophie’s button on her pants. Instead of letting Ryan have her way, Sophie takes Ryan’s hands and pins them over the top of Ryan’s head. Sophie looks down into Ryan’s eyes and Ryan gazes back up at Sophie’s almond hues. When this happens, it’s not just lust, rawness, and sex anymore; It’s passion, love, trust, and care. Sometimes Ryan and Sophie kid themselves. They pretend that what they’re doing is just casual, light, fun. No feelings. No, “where is this going, what are we” questions. When they hold each others gazes in this way however, they both know they are full of shit and in too deep.
Sophie rolls off the top of Ryan and then lies on her side. Ryan immediately rolls over and spoons Sophie from behind, snaking her arm around Sophie’s midsection. Sophie thinks it’s funny that Ryan is so small but loves to be the big spoon. They do this often too. Lie in stillness with each other. Their breathing and heartbeats slowly synch up and dance in a melodic rhythm, and it’s the only sound in the room.
Suddenly there is a knock at Sophie’s front door. Sophie untangles herself from Ryan and shuts the bedroom door behind her as she goes to see who the visitor is. Sophie is happy that she is still fully clothed so that whoever is at the door isn’t kept waiting.
Sophie opens the door and her breath catches, she puts her hand to her chest instinctively.
“Kate.” Sophie says. Sophie looks back to the room that Ryan is currently occupying. Then she looks back to Kate who is standing in her doorway with her motorcycle helmet under one arm. Sophie runs a hand through her hair, attempting to nonchalantly fix up her appearance so she doesn’t look like she was just fooling around with someone. Not that it would be Kate’s business if she was. Kate left.
“Hi Sophie.” Kate says.
Sophie and Kate stand like this for what feels like several minutes. Sophie, not moving to let Kate in, and Kate seeming unsure of what to do as she stands across from Sophie in the doorway.
“I uh, I would invite you in but now is not a good time.” Sophie says. Sophie doesn’t want to tell Kate that she has company. She prays that Ryan stays in the room and doesn’t come out to see who is at the door. They aren’t hiding their— whatever they are. No they aren’t hiding but now is not the time to tell Kate that she is messing around with Ryan. How would Kate even react.
“I’m sorry, I should have called first. That was rude of me.” Kate offers.
“Why are here, Kate?” Sophie doesn’t mean for this to sound so sharp. But she also offers no apology for her tone.
“I made a mistake leaving you the way I did. It was stupid. I don’t know if we can, perhaps, I don’t know, maybe start over? Or we could pick up where we left off? You thought I was dead Sophie, and then it turns out I’m not dead and instead of staying I rush off to go find Bruce. That was a dick move.” Kate finishes. She shifts on her feet. Sophie can tell she wants to be invited in.
“Yeah.” Sophie says. What else is she supposed to say. Kate ripped out her heart and yeah it was a dick move.
“Ok... I’m gonna go see if I can stay with Mary for the night. Hopefully it will be ok with Ryan, I don’t want to impose. Maybe we can get coffee tomorrow?” Kate says, seeming to finally get the hint that Sophie is not going to let her in tonight. Sophie’s heart picks up at the mention of Ryan’s name.
“Ryan’s not over there.” Sophie says quickly. Then she immediately regrets saying anything. Kate gives her a look. Sophie tries to explain.
“I mean, I uh, I think she said she was gonna be out tonight. Doing bat stuff or something.” Sophie was never that great of a liar. Kate gives her another look. Sophie tries to breathe.
“So you two are pretty close then huh?” Kate randomly says.
Sophie sputters. “Um oh, yeah, no. I mean yeah, Ryan’s cool. We didn’t get along at first but, yeah. I like her now. I mean she likes me now. I mean like we are friends now because I’m not with the Crows trying to arrest her and she’s well, you know, she’s Batwoman.” Sophie let’s out a forced raspy laugh, feeling mortified at her explanation of Ryan.
“Ok well, I’ll uh, I’ll text you tomorrow morning when I get up and we can grab that coffee.” Kate says. She hovers at the door and then she lunges forward and wraps Sophie in a hug. Sophie returns the hug. Kate steps back, waves goodbye, and then she is gone. Sophie closes the door and leans her head against it.
“So, Kate’s back.” Ryan says. Sophie jumps and then whips her head around to see a sleepy looking Ryan who has changed into sleep shorts and one of Sophie’s old military shirts. The shirt is too small on Ryan’s shorter muscular frame, it rides up and has turned into some what of a crop top on her.
“Are you ok?” Ryan asks. Sophie’s heart melts just a bit. Instead of Ryan being accusatory, or being upset with Sophie, her first thought is worry and concern over Sophie’s well being.
“Yeah. Yeah, I’m ok. That was just, weird.” Sophie says. Sophie walks towards Ryan and stands in front of her. She reaches out and lightly tugs down on the shirt Ryan is wearing. Then she goes to the couch and Ryan follows her.
“So what did she want?” Ryan asks.
Sophie sighs. “She wants to get coffee I guess. Says she misses me.”
“I can imagine.” Ryan says softly. Sophie looks up at Ryan and then tucks a strand of hair behind Ryan’s ear. She brings her hand down and let’s her thumb lazily touch Ryan’s bottom lip in the process.
“Should I go? Should I go have coffee with her? I told her I would but—” Sophie trails off.
“Why not?” Ryan says. Sophie eyes Ryan.
“I don’t really have anything to say to her, Ryan. I mean, I can’t have her coming in and out of my life whenever she pleases.” Sophie says. Ryan puts her hand on Sophie’s shoulder and then starts rubbing Sophie’s back.
“Maybe just see what she wants, get closure or something? I don’t know.” Ryan says. She then stops rubbing Sophie’s back and adjusts her body so that she is lying down with her head resting in Sophie’s lap. Sophie’s hand immediately drops to Ryan’s head to play with her hair.
“I know what she wants, Ryan. She wants to get back together. I mean I really think she thought she could just waltz back in here and come into my life again; as if I’ve just been frozen in time waiting for her, like some lap dog. Sometimes I think that’s what she thinks of me. The girl who is just going to wait around for Kate Kane to come riding back on her white knight motorcycle and save everybody. I’m not that girl anymore, Ryan. I mean, I quit the Crows. She didn’t even ask me about that. She didn’t ask me about my life at all. Does she care what I’ve been up to, what I’ve been through? What we have all been through?” Sophie waits for an answer from Ryan. When no answer comes, she looks down and see’s Ryan’s eyes are closed and she’s breathing slow, deep and steady. She’s fallen asleep. Sophie smiles to herself and continues running her fingers through Ryan’s tresses. She pulls a near by blanket over them and then reaches for a book that is on her coffee table. She tries to focus on her book but all she can think about is Kate’s impromptu visit and whether or not she should grab coffee with her extremely flighty ex.
“I’m glad you decided to meet me Sophie. I was worried you would back out.” Kate says as she brings their coffees to a table that Sophie is leading them to. Kate sets the drinks down and her and Sophie sit in their respective chairs across from one another. As soon as they sit, Sophie bites down on the blueberry muffin that she ordered so that she doesn’t have to answer Kate right away. She watches as Kate blows on her coffee and takes a timid sip.
“Ok Sophie, I’m just going to say it. I want you back. I want us back. I’m really sorry for the way that I left. I had so much on my mind and I didn’t know how to handle it. I had to get away to process everything.” Kate said.
Sophie takes a deep breath. “I understand that Kate. But, you can’t just keep coming and going. I want closure. I want to move on from this time in my life. I want to close up these wounds and you, you just keep pouring salt on them.” Sophie looks up to see Kate’s reaction to her words. Kate looks taken aback.
“Sophie–” Kate starts.
“Look, Kate. I know it is not your fault, what happened to you, and what they did to you. And I’d love to be here for you as a, as a friend but I’m not ready to be with— no. It’s not that I’m not ready. I don’t want to be with you in that way, Kate.” Sophie says. Sophie looks apologetic, but she also looks determined, fierce, confident, older. This Sophie was different from the one that Kate knew.
“It’s Ryan isn’t it.” Kate says suddenly. Sophie’s heart leaps out of her chest. How the hell did Kate put that one together.
“What’s Ryan?” Sophie says, not wanting to offer anything up and waiting to see what else Kate was going to say.
“Come on Sophie, you know you’ve always been an awful liar. She was there with you last night wasn’t she.” Kate says. It wasn’t a question. Sophie shifts in her chair and looks out the window. None of this was Kate’s business.
“Do you love her?” Kate asks. Sophie stays quiet. Her and Ryan hadn’t even discussed what they were yet, no way was she going to be giving Kate this tea.
“Ok, you don’t have to tell me.” Kate says in that smug way she always says and does everything. Like she knows better than everyone, like she knows people better than they know themselves. “I guess that’s what Ryan meant when she said her and I had more in common than I knew.” Kate says.
“I’m a different person than I was when I was with you Kate. I’m not going to get into what is going on with me and Ryan because that’s not any of your business, but I’m not going to hurt Ryan, I refuse to hurt her actually, and I would never betray her trust. Even if it wasn’t for Ryan, you and me just can’t work out. We want different things and we are at extremely different points in our lives. I can’t keep living in the past. I want to move forward. You’re my past Kate, and it is something that is part of me, but it’s not my story. You know, you’ve not asked me once about what has been going on since you’ve been gone. It doesn’t feel like you want to know the new me, it feels like you want to hang onto the old me. But the old me wasn’t happy, the old me was hiding in the closet, scared to be out, scared to tell my mom who I really was. The old me was sneaking around, scared to be myself. The old me was stupidly dedicated to the Crows, so much so that it almost got me and my friends killed!” Sophie says the last parts of her speech breathlessly. Kate looks shocked and confused.
“See, you don’t even know all the things that have happened. And again, I don’t blame you Kate. You came back from the dead, you had other fish to fry. But that’s just it. Us and timing. Even with you coming back now. It was not good timing, and I don’t think it ever will be.” Sophie says. She starts sipping her coffee now that she was sure it had cooled down. She watches Kate.
“Well that settles it then, doesn’t it.” Kate says.
“Kate—” Sophie tries, she doesn’t want to end on a sour note.
“No, no I’m not mad Sophie. I appreciate your honesty.” Kate gulps the last of her coffee and stands up. Sophie takes this as her que to stand as well. Sophie cleans up her crumbs into a napkin and crumples it in her hand. Kate takes their empty coffee mugs up to the front counter. They walk out to the parking lot. Sophie looks around for Kate’s motorcycle and then sees it parked some feet away, sun glistening on the handle bars. Sophie puts her hand above her eyes to shield the sun.
“Ryan is lucky to have you, kid.” Kate says. She regards Sophie with a look and then starts off towards her motorcycle.
“I’m pretty lucky myself, actually.” Sophie says to Kate and then smiles to herself.
“You always did like your women in suits.” Kate says. She continues walking towards her motorcycle and then turns around and gives Sophie the two finger salute. Sophie smiles and watches as Kate gets on her bike, puts her helmet over her head, revves up the engine and then takes off. Sophie hates to admit it but she hopes it’s the last time that she sees Kate. at least for a while. She wasn’t lying when she said they could be friends, she also wasn’t lying when she said she refused to hurt Ryan and break Ryan’s trust. Sophie jumps into her car and heads back to her place, on the way she calls Ryan to see if she will meet her there.
******************************************************************************
Sophie enters her place and see’s Ryan lounging on the couch watching some Batman cartoon, she’d figured when she told Ryan to meet her here that Ryan would get there first and let herself in. She gave Ryan a key a couple of weeks ago and it’s been fun to come home to someone that she cares so much about. It’s still blows her mind that only a year ago her and Ryan couldn’t stand each other. And now Ryan was all over Sophie’s place. In Sophie’s bed, on Sophie’s couch, on Sophie’s shirts, in Sophie’s arms.
“Hey Soph! How cool is it that I’m literally watching Batman, and I’m freakin Batwoman bish!”
Sophie laughs. “Pretty cool, babe.” Ryan looks up and smirks at Sophie and the pet name that just slipped out of Sophie’s mouth. Ryan sits up and pauses the TV.
“How is Kate?” Ryan asks. Sophie takes off her shoes and coat and goes to sit next to Ryan on the couch.
“Kate’s... Kate. She’s gone again.” Sophie says and rolls her eyes.
“Are we, are we mad about this?” Ryan asks. She is not sure how Sophie is feeling but wants to support her in whatever way she can.
“Gosh no.” Sophie says briskly. Ryan says nothing and Sophie continues.
“Kate wanted to get back together and I shut it down. She uh, she actually kind of guessed that something was going on between you and I, I didn’t really confirm it completely but she seemed to know anyway. I didn’t give her details.” Sophie says hesitantly, trying to register Ryan’s reactions. Ryan still says nothing, she just looks at Sophie with those rich, deep brown eyes of hers and Sophie has to look away because sometimes Ryan is just... Ryan is so raw and fragile at times that it makes Sophie ache. Sophie swears that one day she is going to drown in a pool of Ryan Wilder’s eyes.
Ryan finally speaks. “So, Kate suspected that something was going on between you and me and that bitch still tried to shoot her shot!” Ryan says pretending to be extremely incensed. Sophie sniggers at Ryan’s antics.
“She kept trying to pry but I didn’t want to tell her.” Sophie says. Ryan looks confused.
“You didn’t want to tell her what?” Ryan says.
“I didn’t want to tell her how crazy I am about you. I mean I did want to tell her. I want to tell everyone! But I thought you should be the first to know how I feel.” Sophie says. She puts her hand on top of Ryan’s hand.
“And uh, how do you feel?” Ryan quietly asks. Sophie’s answer comes in the form of her lips on Ryan’s lips. Ryan’s eyes flutter shut and Sophie places her hand behind Ryan’s head to deepen the kiss. They break apart and lean their foreheads together.
“Sorry, I didn’t catch that, can you repeat it? How do you feel?” Ryan jokes. Instead of another kiss, Sophie wraps Ryan up in a hug, placing her hand on Ryan’s head and pulling her into her chest. They fall back onto the couch.
“I feel like everything that happens from here on just proves that you have been right in that first moment. When you suddenly realize that you were incomplete and now you are whole...” Sophie says, almost to herself.
“Not you quoting Imagine Me & You.” Ryan laughs and buries her head into the crook of Sophie’s arm. Sophie laughs and then there is a comfortable lull in the conversation, where their breathing and heartbeats synch up once more.
“I dare you to love me.” Sophie barely says above a whisper.
“I just might.” Ryan responds back quietly, her head resting on Sophie’s chest.
“Don’t forget me, Soph.” Ryan says softly after a few beats.
“I won’t remember anything else.” Sophie says.
The two of them lie there for a while like that. Ryan drifting in and out of sleep, and Sophie playing with Ryan’s hair. Sophie’s eyes dance around her own living room as if seeing it for the first time. She looks at her coffee table, empty except for the book laying there and she decides that tomorrow she is going to purchase some fresh lilies. Sophie, feeling more content, more alive, and more like herself than she’s ever felt before, glances down at a peacefully sleeping Ryan Wilder on her chest and smiles.

Not titled yet. Just a drabble, gonna be polishing it up and adding more.
Shout out to my girl @aliyahtheghost for the prompt, loved our convo about this. Saw it was filled already but still had something in mind for it. Basically Ryan is exhausted because of all the shit she’s gotta worry about, Luke being Batwing, Alice and her shenanigans, protecting the city, etc etc. We know that Sophie is the best support for Ryan and she is always there for her with a warm hug or words of encouragement.
__________________________________________________________
"Ryan, girl are you okay?" Sophie shook Ryan's arm as she lied across the bar top table at The Hold Up, her head in the crock of her arm.
Ryan lifted her head up with a groggy look on her face and said, "Sophie, ya girl is exhausted." Ryan sighed and slowly got back to cleaning the place for closing. A few customers still lingered. Ryan was usually friendly and good with people, but tonight she glared at the stragglers and they got the message. They downed their drinks, threw some cash on the table and hurried out. Ryan sighed again.
"Girl, what is up with you?" Sophie turned on her bar stool and regarded Ryan, raising an eyebrow. "I mean, usually you're nice to everybody but me but judging by the way those customers just fled out of here, I'm guessing they got the wrath of Ryan." Sophie joked, hoping to crack Ryan's tough shell and get her to spill. Ryan gave her a hard glare but a smile was pulling at the corners of her mouth that told Sophie she would not be on the receiving end of Ryan's wrath.
Ryan finished cleaning up and came to stand near Sophie. "Sophie, I'm so tired. I haven't had a moment to myself. I'm either out doing my bdub duties, or I'm helping Luke with his bdub stuff, or Mary wants me to help her find more patients for her clinic. I gotta keep up with frickin Alice's weird ass comments about my mother. By the way, I think there is a chance she is still alive and I didn't actually kill the first person to ever love me and-"
"Woah, wait a minute Ryan, slow down. First of all, what's this stuff about your mom?" Sophie questioned, immediately getting a concerned and sincere look on her face. Ryan hated when Sophie looked at her like that because when Sophie looked at her like that, Ryan wanted to spill every little thing about herself to Sophie and then curl up in Sophie's warm embrace when she was finished. Sophie had a way of making Ryan vulnerable.
Ryan sighed. "Alice told me some bullshit about how I killed my mom in child birth, and then I slapped her. And then she told me I didn't actually kill my mom and she's still alive. So now I have to figure out what the fuck that crazy bitch is talking about." Ryan sat down next to Sophie and poured herself a shot. Sophie's looked like she had short circuited. Then she got an angry look on her face. Ryan watched the emotions run across Sophie's face like a film strip. Ryan cocked her head to the side.
"Fuck Alice." Sophie said bitterly. Ryan smirked. She loved when Sophie was riled up.
"I'd rather not." Ryan joked. Sophie didn't laugh.
"No, I'm serious. Where the hell does she get off saying something like that to you? I can't stand that she thinks she can say whatever she wants just because she's insane. I'm glad you slapped the mess out of her." Sophie was going to reach for the drink Ryan had out but she figured one of them should be sober. And by the way Ryan's night or past few months seemed to be going, and by the way Ryan was downing shots, Sophie figured she should be sober incase Ryan really did want to talk and needed a sober mind to talk to.
"I didn't say I slapped the mess out of her." Ryan pointed out, chuckling.
"Well I'm sure you did slap the mess out of her though." Sophie raised her brows. And Ryan smirked in response.
"But I guess it wasn't enough because now she's coming to me with this crap about how my birth mom might still be alive." Ryan said.
“Do you believe her?” Sophie asked. Sophie genuinely was not sure if Alice was telling the truth about Ryan’s mom or not.
“I don’t know.” Ryan said half heartedly and poured another shot.
“What would be her motive for lying?” Sophie asked, sounding like a detective.
“Fun is her motive. Messing with people’s lives is her motive. That girl is sick.” Ryan said disgustedly.
“Ok, so we’ll tackle that when you sober up. What else is going on?” Sophie said reaching out her hand to place it on top of Ryan’s.
“Can we go up to my place? I need to get out of these work clothes, and lie on the couch. I’ll tell you the rest up stairs?” Ryan said, her voice going up an octave so that Sophie knew it was a question and not her assuming Sophie would come up to the loft.
“Yeah, ok. Sure. Lead the way.” Sophie said getting up. She waited for Ryan to turn out all the lights and lock the door. Then she followed Ryan up to the loft.
