Jaldapada National Park (জলদাপাড়া জাতীয় ବ in Bengali) is located on the banks of the Torsa River in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas. Administratively, it is located in the Alipurdwar district of North West Bengal. The water level is about 61 meters above sea level. The river and grasslands are 216.51 sq. Km. The area is surrounded by national parks. Jaldapada was declared a sanctuary in 181 to protect the forest and wildlife. At present, part of the extinct Indian ganda is living in this national park. The floodplain is classified as a Habitat management area. The Chilpata Forest, located between the Jaldapada and Baksa Tiger Sanctuaries, is a protected elephant forest. The Gorumara National Park near Jaldapada is home to a large number of Indians.

History-- Prior to the 1800s, the Toto and Bodo tribes inhabited the forest. At that time the place was known as Totopada. The Jaldapada Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1941 to protect the rest of the Indian Ganda. In May 2012, it was recognized as a national park.

Plants and wildlife-- The forests of Jaldapada are mainly grasslands with long grasses. Indian rhinoceroses are the main attraction of the forest here. After the Kaziranga National Park in Assam, the largest number of Indians live in the Ganda watershed. Some of the other important wildlife living in the forest are elephants, Kalarapatriya tigers, Sambar, Kutura, Chital, Kuji deer, Barhaha and wild eagles. In India, the conservation status of elephants and Indian rhinos is critical. A paradise for waterfowl lovers. Waterfowl are one of the few species found in the Indian subcontinent or Bengal frolic. Other birds found here include Chulia Chill, Palla Fish Chill, Shikra, Finish Weaver, Forest Chicken, Peacock, Kochilakhai, Titiri. In the Jaldapada forest, reptiles such as dragons, cows, chimpanzees, snakes, and geese endo are found. About eight species of freshwater turtles are also reported to be in the water.
