In the dead of winter in 1953-54, an unknown creature terrorized a small North Carolina town with a then population of less than 800 residents. For 13 days beginning on December 29, 1953, residents of the tiny town and its immediate surrounds were mortified day after day as each morning they discovered the decapitated remains of their family dogs. This is the story of the Beast of Bladenboro.

Alien Invasion

The invasion was so sudden we barely had time to try and muster a defense. But, even when we tried to fight back, we were no match. These aliens had technology that was more advanced than our own and we could only cower and surrender only a few months into the invasion.

They began to take over our society and claim our world for their own. These creatures were odd looking, their males came in all different proportions, some were rotund while others were skinny. Their females didn’t look like they could reproduce correctly. They were hideous.

They enslaved all of us, put us to work, and it was terrible. They made us do things we didn’t understand and they’d torture those of us who couldn’t figure out their strange ways. Most of us had to work jobs creating odd and disgusting things these creatures considered food. This was no longer our planet, it was theirs.

And now I stand, behind a long rectangular table of some sort, crudely shaped, wearing clothing that feels itchy and unwelcome on my skin while a rotund alien walks up to me. And I have to say, through the harsh translator they implanted into my vocal cords so they can understand me, “Welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?”
