Fated To The Wolf: Serial Master Post
Ok, friends and enemies welcome to the first serial of this blog. We are going to iron out some kinks together because shit is going live today! (QA? what's that? straight to production!)
TL;DR: The serial is free but you need the password: GET IT ON THE NEWSLETTER
🐺🐺CHAPTER LIST 🐺🐺
Chapter 1
Chapter 2 (7/15)
Chapter 3 (7/17)
Chapter 4 (7/19)
Chapter 5 (7/22)
Chapter 6 (7/24)
Chapter 7 (7/26)
Chapter 8 (7/29)
Chapter 9 (7/31)
🐺 First: This serial is an instalove M/M wolf-shifter novella! It will serialize on my website three chapters/week leading up to the publication of the anthology it's in (more on that below.)
The serial is free to read but due to The Amazon Overlord, I'm putting chapters after number 1 behind a password that you can only get ON MY NEWSLETTER <-- sign up for that shit and you'll get a free M/M dragon shifter instalove while you're there.
Fated To The Wolf
Amari Rose is about to make a deal with a demon.
Amari has been raised among vampires as the only food they’re not allowed to touch, but if he doesn’t take some drastic action, his mother will make sure he’s someone’s next meal. He wants nothing more than to leave the vampire Court, but he’s stuck in a world of eternal darkness called the Shade. Who would come rescue him here?
Titus Bryant is a mercenary werewolf with a mission.
Titus knows his fated mate is out there, somewhere. He has traveled the world looking, but the last thing he expects is to travel across dimensions. He tackles Amari while on a mercenary job and his entire life changes in an instant. All it takes is a single touch; he loses all of his werewolf strength and power, but he finds his mate at last.
Fate will tie them together.
Escaping the Shade, it turns out, is easier than believing Amari is free. He has much to learn about the mortal world, fears his mother’s wrath, and knows he’s left a hundred vampire enemies at his back. It’ll take all of Titus’ love and patience to finalize their mate bond and earn his werewolf power back.
Fated To The Wolf is a 20k M/M paranormal romance featuring a monstrous mercenary with a heart of gold and a human mate willing to fight for his freedom. Vampires, shifters, magic, witches, demons, and more will try to kill this HEA, but nothing can stop fate.
🐺 Second: If you're already sold, you can preorder Marked RIGHT HERE, it's ready and waiting for you wolf-lovers. This is a multi-author anthology! Mixed pairings, mixed heat levels, all wolf shifters.
🐺 Third: This novella will eventually be indie published as part of a larger series but I have NO CLUE when that will happen. It's not on the production schedule until like 2027 or some shit, we busy alright? So if you want to read this novella before I die of old age, GET ON THE NEWSLETTER or PREORDER THE ANTHOLOGY please and thank you.
(the next several serials will also follow this pattern, so if you like vampires, alien dragon shifters, or M/M+ kinky sex, just save yourself the trouble and GET ON THE NEWSLETTER mmkay? mmkay.)
🐺 Fourth: new chapters will be announced on the tumblr with a teaser that will link you to the blog... where you will need the password. (where do we get the password kids? That's right ON THE NEWSLETTER! Gold stars for everyone. ⭐⭐⭐)
A full chapter list will be updated below and all relevant posts will be tagged #Marked By The Wolf so you can pick up where you left off.
🐺 Finally: Also due to The Amazon Overlord, the serial will be removed from the blog on release day, August 1st, so they can't accuse me of pirating my own story or some bullshit (I WISH I was joking). Which means the serial is available for a LIMITED TIME. After that, you'll have to BUY THE ANTHOLOGY which is only available through November. I, too, wish to shank the Overlord for imposing a fake scarcity model, but here we are. A couple of contracts I'm fulfilling require tolerating the Overlord for the near future. But soon the revolution will come.
Are You Ready? (it's a newsletter link)
THE SERIAL IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR THE MONTH OF JULY, what are you waiting for?
look, if you got this far without SIGNING UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER I just don't know what to tell you

So I don’t know if it’s just the ‘paranormal’ aspect of this book but it feels a lot like a shifter-romance or even alien-romance that I forget it’s actually meant to be vampire x human romance book.
And this is narrated by ‘Amber Black’ but it’s sooo weird she sounds just like ‘Amanda Ronconi” who narrates Half-Moon Hollow and other Molly Harper books. Not a bad thing just … idk kinda cool I guess because Molly’s books are always sprinkled with humour throughout so hopefully this book will be similar in that way.
A good start though I like both the FMC and the MMC but it’s early days as I’m only on the 3rd chapter !!!

Ok I'm in a book slump and need some recommendations
Does anyone have some similar paranormal romance books that are similar to Ilona Andrews "Innkeeper Chronicles" or even "Kate Daniels" series?
Like the same kind of vibes?
Innkeeper Chronicles has a werewolf romance and is about an interdemensional bed and breakfast that has magic and aliens, and vampires, etc.. but it's more about the characters than the normal werewolf "I'M AN ALPHA WEREWOLF, MY LIFE IS TRAGEDY AND I COULD RIP YOUR THROAT OUT, I SAY I'M MORE THAN MY ANIMAL BUT IT RULES MY LIFE. BY THE WAY I'M A TOTAL BADASS AND I WEAR ALL LEATHER AND SUNGLASSES"
Kate Daniels series starts out with a female merc badass in a world of magic and shifters, but the story progresses with showing all the characters as flawed people that sound and talk like real people who just happen to live in this kind of world. Again, it focuses on building the characters while progressing the story and raising the stakes. (Has magic, shapeshifters, witches, vampires, old gods, etc)
Again more about characters than "LOOK AT ME BEING A TOTAL BADASS WEARING LEATHER AND KICKING ASS. EVERYONE WANTS ME CARNALLY"

Like OC m/m or fandom m/m or? Give us more deets so we can help
OMG thank you anon! Currently looking for OC, published books, not necessarily on AO3 .
I've been sifting through Goodreads, trying to find good mm romance books that I'll like, and it's been so tough. Everything is dual pov, which I don't like--I like to have a single point of view to commit to and follow through an entire story (with very few exceptions.)
My Preferences:
Not looking for Coming of Age type stories, I want more mature people, no teenage drama.
Not so into thrillers/mysteries usually, although the Wolf At The Door series by Charlie Adharra is delicious, so I’m not entirely opposed either
NO INSTA-LOVE. I'm here for the slow-burn, or for the MC realizing halfway through "Holy shit, I'm in love!" It can be insta-chemistry though, that's alright. But like, overall the relationship has gotta feel EARNED.
I know MC's in denial or utterly blind to what's right in front of them is something that drives a lot of people crazy but I'm here for it, I find it yummy
I LOVE fluff, love angst, hurt/comfort, anything to do with bed sharing/clothes sharing
Love me some size difference sometimes
Genres I go for are regular modern day, historical, ABO, shifters, supernatural, paranormal, urban fantasy--I've been on a fantasy kick lately and enjoying it.
Genres I don’t go for: I almost NEVER enjoy sci-fi, but open to trying it. Probably not aliens or outer space though--those tend to make me laugh, too much bad writing and names of planets and things that are impossible to pronounce like “This is our bread, called uyuywertweu”
I also don’t usually enjoy sports-based stories, they’re just “eh”
Don't much like vampires, mostly because they're never written well
Steamy sex scenes are a YES, but only after some delicious tension
Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, enemies to friends to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers are all good in my book
Can be a couple or ménage, I'm good with either
No cheating. I HATE CHEATING, and have a really hard time having any sympathy for cheaters, so it would ruin the book for me.
No drug abuse in the MC or love interest
I only want HEA or HFN endings. No sad, tragic, or depressing endings
Can be a stand-alone or a series
As far as how much I want romance vs plot in the story, I’d say if the romance is gonna take over, it better be AMAZING. And if the plot is gonna take over, it better be even more AMAZING. A general 50:50 or perhaps 60:40 of romance:plot (slight bias toward romance, sue me) is good overall, neither one kicking the other into the trash.
If there is a new world in the book, like fantasy or something, the world building has to be good, no clumsy piles of word vomit at the beginning telling me what shit looks like, that shit has to be integrated properly.
If I had to choose between delicious plot and delicious characters, I would take delicious characters hands down.
Books that I’ve LOVED in the past are (I would put in Goodreads links, but then Tumblr will send this post to hell):
Uncomplicated Choices by Cara Dee
Rock and Soul by Lauren Sattersby
True Colors by Anyta Sunday
Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday
Highfell Grimiores by Langley Hyde
Misfits by Garrett Leigh (This is by far one of the best ménage books I have EVER read)
Bear, Otter, and the Kid by TJ Klune
Marc Jillson & the Gazebo by Anyta Sunday (She is seriously my hero when it comes to MCs in denial, I ADORE her)
A Pirate's Life for Me by Tricia Owens (This is also ménage, but one part of the triangle was a pain in the ass--looking at you Tyler, you shit--and yet it was still hot enough to finish)
Faith & Fidelity by Tere Michaels (This one is actually one of the few dual pov’s I have ever enjoyed, not to say that that’s what I want to see, but to give you an example of writing and characterization that just GETS me)
The Alpha's Warlock by Elliot Grayson
The Wolf At The Door series by Charlie Adharra

The latest batch draws on virtually every genre and trope imaginable: paranormal shifter romances, paranormal Mpreg romances, reverse harem romances, sci-fi alien warrior romances. There are fantastical Alpha-Omega stories featuring witches, unicorns, dragons, vampires, wolf-shifters, bear-shifters, and wolf-shifters versus bear-shifters. There are comparatively pedestrian Omegaverse romances about celebrity chefs, dentists, frat boys, bakers, bodyguards and billionaires. In a teeming multiverse of stories, the tropes are still evolving, inexhaustible.

Last month I had the (dis)pleasure of reading “Their Baby to Raise,” which purported to be a gay alien hockey romance. You can read all about this “story” in this Twitter thread (SPOILER: it was so bad I threatened to fight the author in a Denny’s parking lot at two in the morning for wasting my time).
In this book, there were thirty (!!!) bonus books, which is in no way an attempt to game Kindle Unlimited (which pays authors by the number of pages read), which I now realize would be pretty great NaNoWriMo prompts. I bet you can write something way better than “Van Cole,” who I’m 99% sure is a book-writing bot.
The Prompts:
Gay alien hockey romance
Gay sports first-time romance
Gay vampire werewolf romance
Black woman white man billionaire romance
Gay suspense billionaire romance
Gay billionaire romance
Gay second chance romance
Gay paranormal romance
Gay paranormal MPREG romance
Gay vampire MPREG romance
Gay paranormal “menage” romance
Gay MPREG shifter romance
Adult western frontier romance
Western mail-order bride cowboy romance
First time older man younger man romance
Gay crime mystery romance
Military romance
So if you’re stuck on your NaNoWriMo story, throw one of these prompts in. Whatever gets you to 50,000 words, right?

Friday Update!
This week has been a very standard "week in the life" for me, which generally means a lot of progress was made on a single project which makes for a short update.
1: My primary project is Fated To The Wolf, it's book one in a length-undetermined series. This is an M/M Paranormal romance with (surprise) a wolf shifter. This novella is part of a contract to publish in an anthology with a bunch of other authors (also writing PNR wolves) in order to batch all our marketing together and reach a wider audience. Then, 6 months-ish later, the anthology is unpublished and we all can republish our books individually.
My plan is to take the 20k novella and expand it into a full novel after it's released from the anthology. But for now, I'm revising the novella version and taking notes about what I'd like to expand on it the future.
This week I got through chapter 6. There are 9 chapters total so I expect to wrap this up and submit to the anthology project next week. You can expect to see more posts about Fated as the preorder runs!
Oh, I don't want to forget: Fated takes place in a universe shared by a lot of other stories in active development. There is an alien dragon series (9 novels) and a vampire series (10 novellas) both in progress that are in the same world. So far, crossed characters are few as I establish the first book in each series, but there will be familiar faces in each one. Due to the expected length of these series I anticipate Wolves will be at least 5 novels when it wraps up, perhaps longer.
2: Coming in right behind is Rescued By The Dragon Assassin, which is an M/F dragon shifter PNR novella. Another 20k multi-author project. This one is already up for pre-order: https://www.tamiveldura.com/product/rescued-by-the-dragon-assassin/
This novella is going to release indie from the start and exists as one of 10+ novellas all written on the same tropes. Rescued by a villain type, all paranormal or scifi romances. You can find them all here: https://www.villainsdoitbetter.com/
This week I drafted the initial rough outline that sketches in my tropes and romance beats. I've started refining that outline with more detail, like blocking in actors on a stage. It's not descriptive, just simple movement of all the characters so I know what everyone is doing. There's only so much you can fit into 20k words. About 7 or 8 scenes, for my writing style, which means every scene has to lift some heavy loads to carry not just the plot but a believable character arc.
3: Admin work this week included putting out a newsletter to announce Rescued, publishing my next short story on preorder for September:
And, always important, backing up my entire website and both databases as a precaution. I've had bullshit hack into my website before and having a locally stored backup is one of the easiest ways to fix that in the future.

Note
The rest of Thea Harrison's Elder Races series is good as well, but Pia and Dragos are also my favorites (and it's a shame the author said she doesn't think she'll write more stories focused on them in the future).
Shelly Laurenston has a dragon shifter series under the name G. A. Aiken.
The Magnus Pack series comes before the Pride series, and a few characters mentioned in Pride are introduced in Pack (like Mikki Kendrick and Irene and her mate Niles van Holtz from one of the later Pride books, to name a few). And the next installment is technically considered the Honey Badger series, even though it starts in the Pride series.
Elizabeth Kerner has a trilogy that's not *technically* a dragon shifter series, but it also is. You have to read it to see what I mean lol. It starts with Song in the Silence.
Jennifer Ashley has a shifter series. In this series, shifters were created by the Fae, and are now forced to wear shock collars by humans. They are forced to live together in shifter towns and aren't allowed things like the best technology (so like flip phones and older cars and dial-up internet), and aren't allowed to travel freely. I adore the series.
Patricia Briggs has the Mercyverse, which consists of the Alpha & Omega series and the Mercy Thompson series. They are connected, but at the start they run along different parts of the timeline. They've mostly caught up to each other now. Mercy is a bit less romance focused than A&O, but both are good.
Bianca D'Arc has both dragon and regular animal shifter series. The dragon shifter series is heavy in the smut, and most of them are poly, with 2 men and 1 woman. Also tend to include some kinks, but the more mild stuff. The other shifter series (I think there's at least two different ones) are also good, and though they also have a good bit of smut, they are mostly 1 man/1 woman and kinkless lol.
Terry Spear has a jaguar shifter series and a wolf shifter series. They start off separate, but have since crossed over. I enjoy them.
Christine Warren has a shifter series (also includes vampires, demons, Fae, etc.) that includes various types of animal shifters. She just started a new series recently that is connected to the first, but so far it's not so connected that you couldn't jump in without reading the first (though I'm not sure why you'd want to lol).
Christine Feehan has a cat shifter series. Some are heavier on the sex than others. They do include the women going into heat, so if that's not something you enjoy, skip them. I enjoy them though.
Eve Langlais has lots of shifter books. I've enjoyed most of them.
Kristen Painter is an author who I only discovered recently. So far I enjoy her books. She has a series that takes place in a town called Nocturne, that has shifters and vampires and witches and I think some other types of paranormal creatures.
Celia Kyle has the Dragons of Preor and Ujal series. Both creatures are technically aliens, but they live on Earth now. The Ujal are essentially mermaids, and the Preor are essentially dragon shifters. The two series eventually are connected, with the Ujal starting first. They are relatively quick reads, and generally have a lot of sex, but I still enjoy them. (They are available through Kindle Unlimited, so if you have that you can check them out without spending extra money, if you decide you don't like them.)
Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series has shifters as well. Love that series...
Molly Harper has the Mystic Bayou series (it's an Audible exclusive, which sucks). The first book is How to Date Your Dragon. The main male character is a dragon shifter. I really enjoyed the book.
Molly Harper also has other shifter books, though I can't think of them off the top of my head. I do know I enjoyed them all though.
And that's all I can think of right now, but I'll check my books later and add any other u think of...
do you have any dragon/shifter books you would recommend?
The only dragon books that immediately come to mind are the Elder Races series by Thea Harrison, and I’ve honestly only read the ones with Pia and Dragos (the dragon).
Oh - the Aisling Grey series by Katie MacAllister, and the follow up series about the Silver and Light dragons. These books are hilarious, and the male leads are all dragon shifters (although they don’t shift a whole lot… but they still have dragon tendencies!)
The world has a distinct lack of dragons. Someone help fix it!
Shifter books I love:
Psy/Changeling by Nalini Singh
Pride Series by Shelly Laurenton (she also has a series called the Magnus Pack series, which is about wolf shifters that I haven’t read)
Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
I know there have to be others, but these are the ones that immediately jump to mind that I would recommend. The Pride series and Aisling Grey series are very heavy on the humor, so be forewarned there if you prefer your romance on the serious side.
