National Team 2019/2020 — Team Svenska Spel
The National Team’s development team, Team Svenska Spel, consists of skiers between age 19-23. The team’s objective is to help those skiers who are between junior and senior, and who are not a part of A-laget.
Juniors at our skiing secondary schools get a lot of excellent training and support in their growth. However, the step from there, to taking a place in A-laget is often very large. For many there are no longer any natural training group to join and it can very easily be so that young skiers are lost after secondary school.
Team Svenska Spel’s purpose is to ease the transition from junior to senior by preparing the juniors for their future as seniors and support younger seniors with continuing excellent training and support after they have left our skiing secondary schools.
Sustainability and patience are key words when working with the team, where drafts are not only based on achievements. We also value growth potential, approach and attitude towards training in addition to results when we choose skiers for the team.

CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 22 (PIA) -- The Climate Change Commission (CCC) today joined various government agencies, experts from different industries, advocates for climate resilience, and members of the academe to launch, “Climate Change and Food Security Analysis,” a research initiative created by the World Food Programme (WFP) to determine the impacts of climate change to food security, nutrition and livelihood in the Philippines and to identify the appropriate solutions.
The virtual event featured Mr. Mats Persson, officer-in-charge and Deputy Country Director, World Food Programme; Mr. Stephen Weise, Managing Director, Alliance of Biodiversity and International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT); the Office of Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, head of the Zero Hunger Task Force in the Office of the President; Director Alicia Ilagan, Department of Agriculture; Director Restituto Macuto, Sustainable Livelihood Program and National Program Manager of EPAHP NPMO, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); Dr. Azucena Dayanghirang, Executive Director, National Nutrition Council; and Mr. Jerome Ilagan, Chief of Policy Research and Development Division, CCC.
The virtual event was held to formally launch the Climate Change and Food Security Analysis, including the introduction of its objectives, time, and expected outputs. Likewise, the event aimed to generate interest in the study by making the argument for climate change and its impact on food security in vulnerable communities.
The report revealed that aside from conflict, climate change is one of the main drivers of global hunger. Climate change impacts are also undermining agricultural production. Particularly vulnerable are smallholder farmers living in the earth’s more fragile environments.
More than 80% of the world’s most food-insecure people are being hit by extreme weather such as drought and flooding, as well as by other stresses such as pest infestation and land degradation. Changes in climate are affecting the production of staple crops—wheat, rice and maize—in both tropical and temperate regions. This situation is set to worsen as temperature increases and becomes more extreme, and rainfall becomes more unpredictable.
In his opening statement, Mr. Persson said, “Climate variability and extreme weather events are among the key drivers behind the recent increase in global hunger and one of the leading causes of severe food crisis. To fill in the undeniable gap between climate change and food insecurity, WFP forged a partnership with the International Center for Tropical Agriculture and initiated a research study of the Philippines Climate and Food Security Analysis.”
Dr. Weise said, “It is evident that the climate is impacting food security in ways and in intensity we have not experienced before. Just this year, for example, the Philippines had to bear the brunt of multiple typhoons that took lives, and caused damage and losses worth billions of pesos in the agriculture sector. If anything, this is a signal for organizations like ours to work closely together along with national authorities and institutions to build greater resilience in the food systems of the Philippines.”
In 2020, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed Executive Order No. 101 which created the Inter-Agency Task Force on Zero Hunger (IATFZH). This aims to put an end to the hunger problem in the country by 2030. The WFP has extended its support of this Task Force and its initiatives to help the country achieve its goals.
Mr. Ilagan commended the Climate and Food Security Analysis as it is consistent with the country’s Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement. On the promise of food security, he expects that the results of the analysis will lead to a complementary and anticipatory adaptation mechanism that is founded on scientific drivers presented in partnership with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and local experts.
He added that, “The National Panel of Technical Experts from the Climate Change Commission can also share their views on how to do multi-scenario, multi-hazard impact projections; inasmuch as the productivity of the sector lies not only on the natural hazards but the complementary implications of other growth drivers such as land use, land industry optimization and incentives, green jobs creation, and the building of people's movements so that they could start investing consistently with the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act.”
Although the launch of the Philippines Climate and Food Security Analysis was delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis, attendees of the virtual event have stated that this should not impact the goal of the study.
Likewise, they hope that the pandemic will provide additional aspects for critical analysis on food security and climate change.
This virtual event was organized by WFP in partnership with the CIAT, with the participation of the Zero Hunger Task Force. (PIA)

Kommentar: Jag tycker att mycket talar för Travolta Treb den här gången. Bra spår. Lämpligt, och hanterbart, motstånd. Hade precis allting kvar senast när han aldrig fick chansen. De krafterna kommer väl till pass nu när Stefan Söderkvist med allra största sannolikhet siktar på ledningen. Där hästen dessutom trivs bra. Kan gå en bra tid och då blir det så klart svårt för de andra att ta sig förbi. Mitt första motbud, om jag hade garderat, är Get Lucky Pellini. Får resan nu?

Kommentar: Två starter i år har gett Seal Kronos två segercheckar. Enkla seger på bra sätt. Tuffare nu från tolfte men ska ändå ha segertipset. Frode Hamre reser inte hit om han inte tror på chans och -villkoren blev lockande för Ulk Delle Selve. Siktar på spets? Bergh verkar ha fått ordning på Cobra Vici. Blandar sig i toppstriden. Vågar inte heller ta bort Lajos Fawör eller Tasja Baunehöj.

Kommentar: I år har inte Pense Kloster fått till det men hon har kapacitet för bättre resultat. Såg lovande ut senast i comeback efter lite andhämtning. Tournado Dream har bra spår och är fint i ordning nu med ett lopp i kroppen. Ska vara klart på gång. Lill Hugo gör det bra varje gång och belönades med en seger senast. Kanske får till det maximalt igen?

Kommentar: Johan valde att köra Vegas Am och de tar hjälp av spårfördelen. Det kan räcka. För hästen har kunnande och form för att segerstrida. Så det är bara att glömma raden – hon är så mycket bättre, men humöret? Julia af Solnäs är också bättre än raden. Hoppade bort sig direkt senast men blir definitivt farlig om hon sköter sig. Tipsettans stall­kompis Party Lane är i stort sett lika bra. Det skiljer inte mycket dem emellan. Siktar antagligen på ett snällare upplägg på innerspåret nu. I rygg på stallkompisen? Se upp för Julia Pellini också. Är bra om hon är bra. Tillräckligt bra.

CLEAN BANDIT FT. ZARA LARSSON - SYMPHONY [5.88] Whenever you're near, I hear a symphonyyy...
Claire Biddles: Aiming for the simple rhapsody of their masterpiece "Rather Be," "Symphony" is a thing of joy that leaves both Clean Bandit's electronic and classical elements room to breathe. The central love-as-music metaphor has been done a thousand times before of course -- most notably in Kelis' ode to motherhood "Acapella" -- but it feels appropriate for Clean Bandit, so much so that I'm surprised they haven't used it before. There's always been a tongue-in-cheek knowing to their use of classical themes, and the extension to meta lyrics suits them. It's especially cute when (exceptionally well chosen) guest singer Zara Larsson's confession that "I was solo singing on my own / now I can't find the key without you" acts as a cue for the strings to swell behind her. I was an unabashed fan of weirdo number one hit "Rockabye," but it's equally as delightful to hear something uncomplicated and effervescent from Clean Bandit. [8]
Rebecca A. Gowns: It's a pet peeve of mine when pop songs refer to more complex musical forms in an offhand way, like it all means the same thing. A song is not equal to a melody, which is not equal to a symphony or an orchestra or anything else like that. (My father is a music professor and he passed this pedantry on to me.) It would also be less of a jarring comparison if the song sounded more full, orchestral, had four movements, whatever -- as it is, it's tissue-paper-thin. BUT if I don't pay attention to the words -- which is hard, since the arrangement is so scant that you can hear every word as if it was written in bold -- I can still enjoy the ephemeral little bip-bop music that Clean Bandit is so good at putting together. Will Adams: I'm always amused by songs that use extended music metaphors because I start thinking of how to take them even further ("You're my perfect authentic cadence"; "Before you my chord was unresolved"; "Life was flat but you sharpened everything"). As it stands, "Symphony" is both "Acapella"-lite and "Rather Be"-lite, failing to recapture either song's effusive devotion and opting for inoffensive prettiness. [6]
Joshua Copperman: All of Clean Bandit's songs sound the same, to the point where I was convinced I had an older song of theirs on at the beginning. Nonetheless, there's nothing wrong with that, because their sound almost always works well. Zara's still trying to find her identity, but she's a surprisingly good match, even as her heavier voice would theoretically be a contrast to Clean Bandit's peppy music. [6]
Katherine St Asaph: I like this when the melodies start to sound like something Nina Persson would sing. So only for about 10% its runlength. [3]
Thomas Inskeep: Formula turns formulaic, on both parts. [3]
Peter Ryan: The soft bits don't signify restraint so much as provide contrast for the eruption of a chorus, by now Clean Bandit's stock-and-trade. I wonder how long they've been sitting on the song title, but at least they saved it for their very biggest, corniest single to date. It also makes the best case yet for their project's existence. For once nearly every exuberant sonic trinket locks into place -- only the second half-time feels awkward -- and for all the grandiosity there's a bracingly intimate core, such that Larsson's overtures don't feel the least bit glib. It's the sound of their vision coming together. [8]
William John: The introductory twinkles allude to the understated grace of Alicia Keys' overlooked "In Common"; the reality is, as the song's title suggests, far more grandiose. The principal issue here is that the central metaphor is confused. Following up a brazen declaration of "Symphony!" with the words "like a love song on the radio" seems peculiarly incongruent. More to the point, a symphony is work of many movements and components, which doesn't align with the conceit of two lovers destined to be together forever. Then again, a cry of something like "Duet!" wouldn't carry half the required bombast, and Zara Larsson has the kind of malleable, amenable voice to make even the mundane or muddled sound exuberantly sublime. Production photography and footage has been released today for the highly anticipated West End musical An American in Paris. The critically acclaimed and multi award-winning new musical has its official London premiere tonight, Tuesday 21 March at the beautifully restored Dominion Theatre.
