Chishiya x OC One Shot
// A bit of a fluff one shot, Chishiya and a fem!OC both having attraction, though neither realizing it lmao, enjoy please.
Masterlist
It had been two months since Ayane joined the Beach. It was at the tagger game when she saw him for the first time, his white hair and a hoodie, not a worry in the world. He watched from above on the seventh floor as everyone scurried about, bodies dropping faster than they could run. After hiding under the stairs as the Tagger walked by, she caught his eyes, eyeing her down to her very soul. She didn't freeze often, but being under his gaze anything was possible.
Ayane couldn't get him out of her mind since. After the game, she had tried to get his name but he just smirked, hands in pockets as he strode to a car with a bulkier man. It wasn't long before fate put them together again, two games later. She caught his gaze on her more than once, his hood up as to not draw attention to himself. She could feel his eyes regardless, watching her intently.
Ayane tried to push her feelings to the side, thinking that distractions only got in the way in this place. He approached her this time after the game, his face showing no signs of stress. "Chishiya." She could feel her heart beat loudly at his words, "I'm sorry..?" "My name. Chishiya." Her face heated under his gaze, "Ayane." She did her best to give a kind smile without her heart literally beating out of her chest, extending her hand.
Chishiya looked at her hand curiously, not extending his back. "You should come to the Beach." Ayane looked at him curiously, "Like... The Ocean, beach? It's kinda far," she said questioningly. He smirked and let out a chuckle, "Come with us." His words were like hypnotism to her ears as she nodded her head without question, "Um, sure."
Ayane was never good with men in the real world. She was normally easily intimidated, and never stood up for herself, but this place had changed those aspects in her. She often would dream of being a housewife, cooking dinner for her hard-working husband when he got home from work, but could never muster the courage to talk to a boy. Now, just staying alive was an accomplishment. She wanted to go home, go back to school, fall in love for the first time. She had hoped deep down, as ridiculous as it sounded, that she could meet Chishiya there, hoping he could be her first love.
Chishiya wasn't good with feelings. They were unpredictable, useless things that got in the way of true issues. But whenever he looked at Ayane, his heart skipped a beat and a half. He tried to distance himself when she came to the Beach, repeating over and over to himself that he only brought her here to benefit himself and his endgame. But whenever he grabbed chips in the cafeteria, she was there. Whenever he met with Kuina poolside, Ayane was there. His eyes always wandered to find her, unwilling to himself, hoping to catch a glimpse.
Kuina snapped her fingers in front of Chishiya's face, "Hey! Are you alive?" He blinked a few times, snapping back to reality. He looked at her, patting himself down, "Yeah. Looks like it." She tilted her head at his sarcasm, turning her head to look at where Ayane was standing by a small group of people. Kuina grinned, looking back to Chishiya. "Soooo... That new girl, huh?" She nudged him with her elbow, grinning from ear to ear. The blonde didn't waver, "Yeah. What about her?"
She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder nonchalantly, "You've been staring at her for over a minute now. You're still staring!" He stood up, turning his back, and began to walk away. "I don't know what you're talking about." Kuina got up and chased him down, "Oh, come on! Why are you running away?" He didn't pay her another glance as he faced forward, "I'm not running. You're just slow."
She grabbed onto his arm and swung him around, "Chishiya, do you have a thing for her?" His face remained neutral as always, "No." He hung on the syllables, hiding the embarrassment in his voice. Kuina smiled and clapped her hands in excitement, "You totally do!" He rolled his eyes and walked away again, swatting her hand away. "You can't hide it from mee~" Kuina laughed as Chishiya disappeared past the stairs, looking back behind her to where Ayane still stood. "I have an idea..."
When Ayane woke the next day, she swung the covers off herself and stretched in front of her window, feeling relief at the sunset. She didn't get much time to herself that morning as her stomach growled, demanding breakfast. She turned for the door and stopped as a note had been slipped underneath it. She grabbed it curiously, unfolding it to read, "Meet me on the roof at dusk." There was no name with it, but odder things have happened here. She took the message with a grain of salt as she headed down for her meal.
The cafeteria was fairly empty this morning, with only a few members still grabbing their food. Her eyes immediately noticed Chishiya at the corner table, nibbling on his crackers, observing everyone as he usually did. Ayane swallowed the lump in her throat and walked quickly to grab some fruit. She could never be around Chishiya for very long before she let her crush show in an obvious manner. She started stuttering, her face went red, and she couldn't stop staring at her hands while speaking to him.
She hoped she could get a quick glance at him before he noticed, to no avail. Her eyes locked with his immediately, her heart skipping a beat. It took all her willpower to look down and walk out as fast as she could without drawing attention. She hurried back to her room, fruit in hand. Upon closing the door, she slid her back down it and sat with her knees to her chest. Her thoughts began to run wild, "His eyes are so handsome, the way he looks at me makes me feel so..." She shook her head, forcing her thoughts out. He looked at everyone like that, she surely wasn't anyone special.
Chishiya had lost his appetite after Ayane practically ran out of the cafeteria when she saw him. It made his heart feel heavy as he processed his thoughts, "Maybe... Maybe I do like her." Sitting on his bed staring out the window, he took a deep breath, his train of thought interrupted by a knock on his door, "Come in." Kuina walked through the door with a grin on her face that only meant one thing; she was up to something. He tilted his head to meet her eyes, "What did you do?"
She threw herself on his bed next to him, looking smug. "I did a thing... Ayane is gonna meet you on the rooftop at dusk!" She giggled to herself, quickly stopping as she saw Chishiya's face go dark. "Why would you do that?" She threw her hands up, "You like her! Shoot your shot!" He put his head in his hand, rubbing his temple. "Kuina... She is repulsed by me. Call it off." She gasped in disbelief, "She does not! For someone as smart as you, you're dumb!" He shot her a glare at her comment before taking a breath, "She literally ran out of the cafeteria when she saw me. She can't even stand to be in the same room as me, why would you think she likes me?"
Kuina laughed, "Like I said, for someone so smart, you sure are dumb." She pushed herself off the bed and headed for the door, "I'm not gonna call it off. Either you go, or she gets stood up. It's your choice." Closing the door behind her, she swallowed her doubt, hoping her friend was smart enough to meet Ayane.
Dusk approached fast that night. Ayane felt her palms sweating as she waited on the roof. The night began to creep up on the sky, the stars beginning to truly shine into the night. She sighed to herself, a part of her wanted to believe her feelings would be proven right tonight. Although she had no idea who the note could've been from, her heart wanted it to be Chishiya that was waiting for her. She would finally have the opportunity to tell him how she feels, without so many people around both of them. She doubted he had any feelings for her, but at least this way she wouldn't be embarrassed in front of the whole beach and could be rejected quietly, in peace.
She had rehearsed her confession over and over again in her head, yearning to finally tell Chishiya how she felt the first time she saw him, how she still feels every single time she sees him. Her thoughts were so loud in her mind that she didn't hear the rooftop door close. "Hey." She turned to be met with Chishiya, hands in his pockets as per usual. "Um, hey..." She smiled a bit, her nerves starting to take over her.
Chishiya took a few steps forward slowly, taking her in. He loved the way her hair fell down her shoulders, the way she tucked it behind her ears when she was nervous. He had been paying attention to all her cute mannerisms since the day she got here. The way she nibbled on crackers, the way her head shot back when she laughed, even the way she scolded Kuina whenever she had too much to drink. He had only realized it recently, but those weren't things a person normally looks at. You only look for those things in someone who you have deep feelings for.
Ayane looked down at her feet, "So, um... Chishiya... You, wanted to meet me?" Her fingers fiddled with themselves as she looked up at him, trying not to say something embarrassing. Chishiya stared at her for a moment, "Actually, Kuina told you to come here." She could feel her heart drop at his words. Her eyes started to burn, her throat going dry, "O-oh... Well um, I'll go find her then." She pursed her lips together as she began to hurry past Chishiya, calling herself a fool in her head, holding back her tears. After all that preparation, she still couldn't tell him how she felt.
It was only as she grabbed the handle that Chishiya called out to her, "Do I repulse you?" She turned in shock to look at him, his eyes searching hers, "What? N-no, Chishiya, you don't repulse me. Why would you think that?" He pondered for a moment, "You always run away from me whenever you see me." Ayane swallowed her breath, her heart thumping loudly, "Well, I, um... Listen, Chishiya... I..." She mustered all the courage she possibly could, calling it forth, "I... I really like you! I... I just get really nervous around you and, I... I can't think straight a-and..." She could feel her throat starting to close up on her, her words refusing to come out anymore.
Chishiya looked at her in disbelief, his mouth agape yet at a loss for words. "Ayane..." She couldn't look him in the eyes as hers started watering, holding her breath for his next words. "I feel the same." She looked up at him in shock, her tears spilling over. "Y-you do?" He walked towards her until they were mere inches apart. "I do. Ever since I first saw you, you made me feel... Different. Like maybe, all this wasn't as tedious as I thought."
He extended his hand out and cupped her face, wiping away a tear with his thumb, "Ayane... Can I kiss you?" Her eyes went wide at his request as his eyes gazed into hers. Without answering verbally, she pushed herself into him, closing her eyes and pressing her lips into his gently. She laid her hands on his chest as he gently wrapped his arm around her waist, keeping her close. Chishiya felt his heart pound against her chest, and she could feel hers reciprocate the rhythm. They broke apart for only a moment to look at each other under the night sky, illuminated by the moonlight. He stroked her cheek gently, admiring her eyes as she fixated on his. In his heart he knew, if all else fails, this one thing was worth surviving for.

The Pain Before (Niragi X Reader) Part 8
Part Seven, Part Nine, Series Masterlist
Your breath caught in your throat and Niragi locked his seemingly angered eyes into your own. You started to pull away before a hand wrapped around your waist, and you found yourself pressed into the side of the blonde. "She's busy right now." Without giving Niragi time to respond, Chishiya began walking with you past him, whispering into your ear to not look back. You could feel his Niragi's eyes on the two of you as you walked away, a small pain in your heart. You pushed the feeling aside-- though he did save your life, he was also a dangerous man with a loaded rifle.
Niragi seethed. He watched as you left with Chishiya, his anger beginning to spill out of him. He quickly hurried to his room, throwing the door open and throwing the nearest thing he could touch. He didn't bother to close the door, who would stop him? It wasn't long before his room looked like the aftermath of a police raid. Curtains ripped and thrown to the floor, his mattress lying sideways against the wall, the desk in the corner now on the floor in pieces.
"What the hell was that snake doing with her," his mind raced. "He shouldn't touch her. Nobody should ever touch her." He ran his hand through his hair, the tie that held it back long gone. He caught his reflection in the mirror briefly, filling himself with disgust. "I look like I did, back then. Almost," he sneered at his own thoughts, kicking the bathroom door fully open to give himself a good once over. He could see his tongue piercing pressed against his cheek, but other than the rest of his piercings, he did still look the same.
His hair had gotten a bit longer, and his eyes had a more dangerous look in them. He didn't look at himself much these days, there wasn't really a need to. He was feared and left alone by pretty much everyone but the women at the Beach, or Aguni if he got a little too out of hand. He took a deep breath, running his hand through his raven hair. His mind wouldn't get those thoughts of out his head, no matter what he tried to do. It just kept going back to that day.
The rain kept pouring, running the blood from his nose down into his shirt. Nobody looked at him, and even if they did, they didn't stop to help. His ribs hurt every time he took a step in front of him, the ache spreading throughout his body. His knee must've gotten scrapped when he tried to stand at one point, the rain stung when it struck him through the hole in his now ripped pants. Part of him wanted to wipe the rain from his cracked glasses, the other too tired to care. He kept remembering that girl.
She had on the same uniform as his school requires, but he couldn't say he recalled ever having seen her before. She wasn't in any of his classes, nor at lunch. He closed the door behind him, sighing as the dark empty house greeted him once again. He threw his shoes to the ground, pulling himself up the stairs and into his room. He collapsed on his bed, his soaked uniform still clinging to him.
"She was beautiful," he thought to himself in the dark, "I hope she got home safely," his face was buried in his pillow, but he could still feel his cheeks heat up. He thought himself something of a savior almost, like what he did had made a difference. If he wasn't in that alley, if that girl didn't run into him, would Haru have had his way with her? "She was clearly in distress," he thought, recalling her torn shirt, her makeup running and her eyes puffy. "Whatever happens to her," he continued, his mind drifting off to sleep, "I hope she gets to smile again."
Chishiya sat on the bed with you, almost uncomfortably close. The silence went on for what felt like forever, but it didn't bother you much. You couldn't imagine it bothered Chishiya either, for that matter.
"Are you alright?" You nodded your head, looking down at your bruised hands. "Spades?" You nodded again, turning your hands over to get a better look at them. "You know, your finger might be broken. You should see Ann." He stared at you for a minute before placing his arm around you and patting your arm awkwardly. You tried to hold back a laugh as you looked up at him, "You're really bad at this, you know?" He steals a quick glance before almost smiling. "Just make sure you keep yourself alive."
You frowned and looked back down at your hands, one looking much better than the other. "Why do that when I can just inadvertently rely on a madman with a gun to save me all the time..."
"The world needs more smiles like yours." You gasped, not getting a moment to process as his hand found its way to your hair, ruffling it to your dismay. "W-what the, how do you like it!" You said rhetorically, instantly going to do the same with his. He laughed, surprising you. He wasn't a man that showed emotion often. He grabbed your hand, still in his hair, and gingerly placed it by your side.
"It'll be over soon, I think."
You tilt your head to look at him, "What do you mean? Are you going to take the--"
He keeps his gaze forward, a coy smile starting on his lips. "Trust me," he stands before giving you a chance to probe him further, "I have to get back. Kuina is waiting for me."
You nod in understanding, hearing him walk towards the door. "And (Y/N)?" You turn to look at him, "Yeah?"
You watch as he smiles looking at you, "Try to smile. It's good for the atmosphere." He shoots you an awkward wink that causes you to laugh, and to your surprise, he laughs back. You gather yourself and make your way to the bathroom, eager to scrub the sweat off yourself. "Be seeing you and Kuina tomorrow?" as you walk into the bathroom. You hear him respond with a light hum in agreement as moments later the door opens and closes, leaving you alone at last.
Aguni sighed, looking into the room. If it wasn't for Niragi sitting in the center on the floor, rifle in hand, Aguni might've questioned what had happened. He knocked on the open door with the back of his hand, "Hey." When Niragi kept his eyes forward not responding, he continued, "Go cool off. They have to fix the room." He stepped back when Niragi stood up, clutching his rifle to his side.
He remained silent as he walked out of his room, his jaw still clenched. Almost instinctively he made way for (Y/N)'s room, almost running down the stairs to your floor. He almost threw the door open, pushing his pace around the corner. Niragi stopped himself in his tracks when he saw what was ahead of him; Chishiya closing your door, hoodie unzipped, hair unkempt with a coy smile plastered on his face. He eyed Niragi from down the hall, giving him an almost "Gothca" look before turning his heel and heading in the opposite direction.
Niragi contemplated following him for a moment, his judgment clouded over with, envy perhaps; or maybe it was jealousy. Regardless, he didn't care for the feeling. He took a breath as he remained focused on your door, heading forward.
He rushes into your room, not bothering to knock. He heard your surprise in the bathroom, rushing out still in your bathing suit. You couldn't help but be surprised when you saw Niragi standing in your room, rifle at his side. "W-what're you doing in here?"
Niragi looked you over, taking note of the bruises on your hands and legs. He began to feel his heart quicken as you looked at him questioningly, "I... I, just... Just, sit down!" He yelled. You jumped a bit at his tone and sat as he asked, keeping your head high enough to watch him as he started pacing in front of you. "I still need to talk to you!" You swallowed the lump forming in your throat, not that it helped much. The sweat on your palms was already enough to tell you that you were uneasy.
Looking down, Niragi saw your bruised hands begin to shake. He quickly took your chair from the provided desk and sat in front of you, his arms resting on his knees as he leaned forward to face you. The two of you sat like that for more than a moment before Niragi started to speak, "Why was Chishiya in here?"
You took a deep breath to answer, "The same reason you're in here, to talk." You kept your head down low, wondering how far your not-so-brave face could carry you at the Beach. You could hear him scoff, "Yeah, people always come out of a talk looking like that." He nodded to your still-ruffled hair causing a gasp to escape, your bruised hands hurrying to fix it.
The urge to defend Chishiya gave you a bit of courage, real courage, something you weren't used to in this place. "Maybe some people are actually nice--" Niragi brought your face up to meet his and held your chin in between his fingers, his voice stern. "Why're you still wearing that?" You could feel the blood drain out of your face, your mind rushing back to nights prior when Niragi threw you out of his room.
Your lips suddenly felt dry and your throat feeling hoarse. "I-I, this... This is the dress c-code--" He cuts you off, nodding to your dresser, "No. I mean, why haven't you been wearing it?" You find yourself tilting your head cautiously, glancing over, "But... There's nothing in there, but my spare top..." He let go of your face, his hand dropping to his knee as he stood abruptly, walking over to your dresser. You leaned back to see past his back as he opened the second drawer, pulling a familiar piece of clothing out and tossing it at you.
The material was soft, like silk almost. Without realizing it, you had clutched the shirt in your hands, your fingers carefully going over the patterns, relishing in the softness. This place may pose as a paradise, but no bedspread you ever felt could compare to this velvety touch. Your mind snapped back to reality as you realized Niragi was standing in front of you, looking down at you with unfamiliar eyes.
"Um... Didn't you say to give this back?" You felt yourself become awash with shame, trying to remember the comfort Kuina gave you when you told her what happened that night. "It wasn't my fault," you echoed in your mind, trying to calm yourself.
Niragi could feel his shoulders tense up as the words flowed from your lips. He tried not to look at them, tried not to make you uneasy, but it seemed he just had that effect on people these days. His body moved faster than he wanted it to, leaning over the bed and seemingly trapping you between his arms as you held yourself up on your arm. He watched your eyes as his hair fell down, almost touching your face; everything he wanted to say to you vanishing into thin air.
Your eyes stared as his own darted from one of yours to the other, seemingly trying to find something. His eyes rested on your lips as they started shaking, your mind racing with uncertainties. Niragi gently placed his hand under your chin, almost tracing your jawline with his thumb. "Wear the shirt. I won't ask again." His voice was lower than you've ever heard it, and it oddly reminded you of a sweet honey. He pushed himself off the bed and away from you, eyeing your hand with the shirt still clutched in your fist.
Niragi didn't say another word and he left you in your room, looking back at you briefly as he closed the door gently. You let go of the breath you didn't know you were holding, your heart almost pounding through your chest. You looked at the shirt in your hands with confusion, "When was he in my room?" You remembered Chishiya surprising you in your room two days ago, with a message. "Niragi was in here earlier. He seemed to be carrying something with him, but he didn't leave with it. How strange is that?"
You sat in the dark for a while, contemplating the last week. Life wasn't easy, but it was easier surviving on your own than at the Beach. You had barely ever talked to anyone, let alone casually bunked with a little over a hundred other people. You couldn't help but humor your heart a bit as it pained you gently from inside your chest, wondering what could've caused such a reaction. Maybe it was the thought of leaving Kuina and Chishiya? That didn't feel right, but it was the only logical reason you could think of.
The bed engulfed you as you lay down, your hands beginning to throb after your hot shower. You let yourself relax for a bit, soaking in the warmth of your surroundings. Your eyelids began to get heavier as time loomed on, something you graciously accepted. You did begin to wonder though, as your mind spun its wheels, why you couldn't stop thinking about Niragi in your room earlier.
He looked so familiar in a weird way, so gentle. You brushed it off as your mind playing a trick on you, but your memory backed it every step of the way. His voice, the way his hair fell. It all seemed so familiar, yet so distant. You didn't have much time to contemplate these rising thoughts, as sleep pulled you into her grasp, and left you to wonder for another day.

The Pain Before - Reader x Niragi (Part One)
Part Two, Series Masterlist
Niragi Suguru is, by all definitions, a madman. Maybe that's part of the attraction; the feeling of danger when he walks past, the rush of adrenaline knowing you could die at any given moment. If he were to be the end of you, that would be more than acceptable.
When you first arrived at the Beach, you were alone. You arrived at this land with a group, recalling there being at least four others at some point. One of the first games had taken their lives or, more accurately, your winning was what took their lives. You remember just finishing up your tenth game or so, your body aching. 'Spade games aren't a joke...'
You held the card in your hand, glaring daggers at it. You tucked it away in your pouch, who knew fanny packs would become so handy? You took out the antiseptic you had, your hands burning from hitting the ground. Others tried to push you off balance, themselves getting knocked from the tilting floor. You cringed at the burning sensation and started making your way back to your home. Well, you called it home, but it was just an empty department store. You had your tent and a sleeping bag, better than most people.
You didn't get very far before being stopped by a rather beautiful girl. She tapped on your shoulder, and turning around you saw that she had her hand extended towards you. "Kuina. You really saved me back there." You took her hand and gave it a firm shake, "(Y/N), no problem. You seemed like you were in a pinch." She chuckled and smiled at you, "If by 'a pinch' you mean falling to my death, then yes, I was in a pinch." You smiled in return, your hand falling by your side. "Look, you have some good reflexes... I was wondering if you'd like to team up with us."
You gave a skeptical look, "Who is 'us?'" She continued to smile and grabbed your arm gently, leading you over to a car. "A running car? How'd you manage that?" The girl, Kuina, didn't answer but just opened the back door. You pulled away from her grip, "I don't really do teams. So, thanks I guess, but no thanks." You turned to walk away and bumped into a large man, with a scar running down the side of his face and a black tank top.
"Get in." 'Well that's not giving me much option, now is it?' You held back your words, this man would probably crush you like a bug. You turned back to Kuina and sighed, getting in the back of the car, her following suit and closing the door behind her. The car ride was silent despite your questions. "Where are we going?" "Who are you people?" Kuina just smiled and kept telling you over and over, "You'll see when we get there." Seeing as how it was getting nowhere, you stopped asking.
It was probably around 20 or so minutes until you arrived at the entrance. The words had been spray painted over, reading "The Beach." Kuina opened the door and got out as the car came to a stop, "Now, don't freak out." You followed her, closing the door behind you. "About what?" Suddenly your vision went dark, a bag being placed on your head. Your hands were quickly bound behind you with what felt like a zip tie. "What the fuck?!" Someone put a gag around the bag where your mouth was, muzzling any other further protests.
You were then in front of the leader. The bag was lifted and you squinted your eyes at the bright light. It wasn't natural light, but the lights inside somehow worked. Something you didn't miss, the LED bulbs that were everywhere. "Welcome - to the Beach!" He was wearing a floral silk kimono robe, paired with a plain pair of what seemed to be swim shorts. You took note of the people in the room; an average man with glasses, a woman with short black hair, and another with flowing hair and an outfit to kill. The girl, Kuina, was no longer with her, but the driver stood behind her.
The leader flashed around some cards, taking them all in. "Very impressive, ten cards are nothing to scoff at when you acquired them yourself." It was then you noticed everything was gone, no fanny pack, no weapons, hell they even got the knife in your boot. "My cards? What would you want with those?" The man looked up at you, "We are collecting them, of course! Here at the Beach, we work as a collective to gather all the cards in the deck. Our goal is, put simply, to go back to our world." You tilted your head at his words, curiosity surging through you. 'A way to go back home..'
He continued, "We only ask you to follow three rules. We will provide you with anything you could ever want. Electricity, food, running water, whatever you might need. Number one," he held up a single finger, locking your eyes in with his, "All members of the Beach will wear swimwear," he pulled back his robe, seeming to show off, "You can't hide any weapons this way."
"Number two, you are free to do whatever you want. Drink to your heart's content, drugs, sex. Whatever keeps you content." He smirked, seemingly proud of his first two rules. You could've sworn his face turned grim for just a moment before he continued, "And the third, most important. Death to traitors." You held your breath, 'No backing out now it seems.' You contemplated for a moment, holding your head to the ceiling and closing your eyes. You let out a sigh, turning back to the leader. "Sounds great. When do I start pool duty?"
He let out a small chuckle, "I like this one, she's got a bit of fire in her. Now, with cards like these," he held them up in his hand, then tossed them onto his desk, "Quite impressive, again. Seven of Spades, Six of Diamonds, and Seven of Hearts..." He looked your way again, "With this, you'll get a decent number. Woah," he stopped his speech, picking up one card in particular. He faced it forward for everyone to see, "A Nine of Hearts? I knew you had some fire!" He laughed and pulled back the card, gathering them and putting them in a pocket.
He nodded to the large man in the room, and suddenly you felt your hands release. You rubbed them both, the marks from the zip ties burning a bit from the pressure. "I'm the Hatter. This is Aguni," he gestured to the man from before. "This is Keiichi, Ann, and Mira," they all gave a slight nod of the head, not bothering with much else. "Kuina is right outside, she'll show you around." He smiled and gestured towards the door, "Enjoy your stay with us." You stood and made your way to the door, hand on the handle, "I'll do my best."
Holding back your sarcasm was a strong suit for you. It never went well in the real world, why would it be here? You saw Kuina leaning up against the wall, chewing on a piece of candy. "(Y/N), so I take it went well?" She smiled at you and grabbed both your hands, pulling you down the hall, "Well I was abducted, had my cards taken, and not really given much choice in the manner. So... Peachy, I guess?" Maybe holding back sarcasm wasn't as much of a strong suit as you thought it was.
Kuina led you to a large storage room. "You can take anything you want in here, have fun!~" She let out a giggle and turned her back for you to get changed. You could hear her chewing on the candy in her mouth as you began sorting through the clothes if you could call them that. You settled on a black one-piece with a floral design, it had a small diamond shape cut out over the stomach, and the sides were slit and tied together.
You looked for a cover-up and managed to find a white lace one. You grabbed it and flung it over yourself, making your way to Kuina. "Alright, all set for the ball." She smiled at your outfit, "Cute! Let's give you the tour." The pool was bigger than you thought it would be, and the bar was certainly something to ponder. She sat you down poolside, "Oh, another big thing, there are these guys that go around that patrol for anyone breaking the rules. If you can, avoid them at all costs." You nodded along, 'Whatever I can do to live a bit longer.' "Got it. What're these bracelets for by the way?" Kuina flipped yours over to reveal the number behind it, "27? Pretty good for a newcomer! They show your place in line for leaving." She held up her wrist to show, "I'm the eleventh in line, try not to be intimidated." She chuckled and nodded towards the bar, "A drink?" You glanced towards the stocked bar, "I'm game," you returned her smile and watched her get up.
You clasped your hands together and lowered your head to sigh, it's been a while since you got to relax. You felt the muscles in your back and shoulders release and the aches that came with it. The noise suddenly dropped and the near silence enveloped you. You could feel the change in the air and searched for the source. Your eyes landed on them, what you would assume were the militants Kuina had mentioned earlier.
You put your head back down, waiting for them to pass by. All of them carried some sort of weapon, 'So much for no weapons..' You heard the heavy footsteps stop behind you. You swallowed your breath, 'What're the odds?'
You felt a kick on the chair and glanced back. It was the man from earlier, Aguni, and a few others you had yet to know the names of. You could see Kuina at the bar with two drinks, stopped in her tracks watching the militants. "... Can I help you?" One of the men came forward, holding his rifle against his shoulder, "Why don't you help us?" He gave out a dark laugh, signaling another man forward.
Aguni held up his hand, stopping the man from coming any closer. "Niragi, not this one. Move on to another." The man, Niragi, seemed annoyed at this. "Yes, boss." He kicked at the chair again, following Aguni forward. He glared back at you, swirling his tongue through his lips. Kuina jogged toward you, both drinks still in hand. ".. You okay?" You nodded, taking the red drink from her hand. "Did I do something already to get on the shit list?"
Kuina shook her head, "No, just try not to catch Niragi's eye... Avoid him especially, he's fucking crazy." She shot her drink down quickly, "Aguni stopped him this time, can't guarantee he'll stop him twice." You turned behind you, looking at a blonde-haired man with a hoodie. Kuina piped up, "Chishiya! This is (Y/N)," he nodded his head once, "I heard," he turned to you, "Mind if I steal Kuina for a moment?"
"Not at all," you looked over at Kuina, "I'm gonna go check out my room, you guys have fun." You knocked back your drink, placing the glass on the ground and wiping the sides of your mouth of the sweetener. You could feel both their eyes on your back as you walked into the hotel, climbing the stairs to your room. Looking at the back of your wristband, you read the number, 'Room 213,' you glanced at the plaque in front of the hallway, following the arrows. 'Third door down on the right, easy enough.'
You opened the door, noticing the lock on the other side had been damaged, unable to lock. You sighed in defeat, 'So, not a lot of privacy here...' You were about to lie down when your stomach let out a heavy growl. With a sigh, you gathered yourself mentally and headed back out the door, not bothering to close it after yourself.
Making your way to the cafeteria, you heard shouting from inside. You contemplated entering, but your stomach won that battle. You head in quickly, staying by the sides to not draw as much attention. You caught the eye of the man on the ground, being kicked repeatedly. You stayed your course and found a shelf, not caring what you grabbed as long as you got out quickly. Ignoring the painful grunts in between pleading for the assault to stop and a string of sorry, you grabbed a bag of crackers and made for the door.
You felt a pull from your shoulder, "Where do you think you're going?” You turned to see Niragi holding you back. He spun you to face him and pushed you into the wall, his arm blocking the door. His face came closer, you could feel his warm breath on you. You brought his other hand to grasp your chin, holding you still for him to examine. "Such a delicate thing... I wonder if you'll break." He laughed as he grabbed onto your arm again, pulling you out of the cafeteria. The other men didn't follow, just kept kicking the man mercilessly.
You tried to pull your arm back, but his grip tightened on you. You began to pull back harder, trying to use your feet to gain some traction on the ground. Your attempts were proven useless as Niragi continued to pull you forward. It was then Chishiya rounded the corner, his eyes catching Niragi's immediately.
Chishiya stopped in his tracks, his monotone voice almost echoing through the halls, "Does Aguni know you're messing with her again?" Niragi stopped pulling but kept his hand locked around your arm. "Aguni should be faster if he wants a woman. You never know when they'll be riddled with holes." He looked back and smirked at you, making a show of the rifle on his shoulder. He looked back to Chishiya, a sour look on his face. "You should mind your business, snake. You might find a few extra holes in you before morning."
The blonde stepped back sarcastically, putting both hands in the air. "Wouldn't ever stand in your way. Hatter wants to see her." You could feel the grip on your arm tighten and stop as he shoved your arm away. "Tch... See you soon, Princess." He gave you one look over and swirled his tongue on his lips, "Really soon." He laughed and made his way down the hallway, bumping into Chishiya as he did, pushing him to the side. Chishiya didn't seem fazed and approached you, "Follow me."
You rubbed your arm, you could see the bruises already starting to form from Niragi's grip. 'He won't be easy to avoid now...' You followed Chishiya, stopping behind him. "I thought we were seeing the Hatter?" He gave you a small smile, "He's busy. So, I guess we'll just have to wait for him." You shot him a questioning look, "The Hatter never asked for me, did he?" Chishiya leaned up against the wall a grabbed his chest, "I would never lie." He gave another small smile, but it disappeared as quickly as the first. "Well, thanks anyways. I guess the whole 'do whatever you want' really goes for anything."
