Formal OC Introduction - Fenrisúlfr Lokison

Wip: Children of Oak and Ash, Series: A Saga of Frost and Thunder

Born 485 years ago and the only child of Loki and Angrboda, Fenrisúlfr - also known as Fenris - has always shunned the Asgardian court and preferred to make his home in Ironwood. He has no time to deal with the politics side of things, especially given that he and his mother are distrusted and feared for their expansive use of seidr, and he doubts that anything he could do could change their minds. He has already mastered the art of shapeshifting and is always on the look out for undiscovered tomes of magic and it matters little to him what other people think of him.

Nonetheless, he has always been close to his family, especially his three cousins, often spending time in their company when they were able to get away from the court. They all bonded over being bastards, and these bonds have lasted over the centuries - Fenris loves them and would do anything for them, and decides to attend his uncle's coronation only for the chance to see them again, and to see his cousin take his rightful place as Crown Prince of Asgard.

Then Frost Giants interrupt the ceremony, and the next thing he knows Thor has been banished and Magni has been usurped by Fenrisúlfr's father - and although Loki claims that he was given no real choice in the matter, he can't help but feel something's not right, especially knowing much his father resented Thor and didn't think he was fit for the throne. And there's the matter of how the Frost Giants even got into the vault in the first place...

A mystery is afoot and Fenrisúlfr doesn't like where it seems to be leading - but he will not stand by and let his cousin's throne be taken under false pretences, not even by his father, and so he throws himself into finding out the truth alongside Módi and Thrúd.

DESCRIPTION

The siblings were born and raised in Weaver Ridge. Despite not sharing the same father, they were all very close - which given their home situation, it only made sense. The mom (Sydney Doyle) was a teen herself when she started having them. She tried her best to give them a decent life, working multiple jobs at the same time and trying to find a suitable partner that could be a good father figure to them. However, she was not the best judge of character when it came to looking for a partner. She just wanted to give them the family they all deserved to have. Most of the children's father never stuck around long enough to be an active parent figure in their lives. The ones that stuck for a while, exposed them to heavy drinking, drugs and a very toxic - often times abusive environment. They had to protect each other, although mom tried her best to ensure no one ever laid a hand on her children. Sylvia being the oldest always took care of them, despite her disability. She was a second mom when their mom wasn't around. Her brothers were equally very protective of her.

While Sylvia focused on her education and trying to make it out of the hood, Simon and Scott started doing illegal activities very young to earn some money. Initially it was to help out mom so she wouldn't have to put up with more assholes. But it became a cycle that they couldn't escape and would often be in and out of jail. Scott would just be getting out of jail now. Stephen is a recovering addict that still lives at home with their mom in Weaver Ridge. Sadie also lives at home with mom as well. Being the youngest, she was less exposed to toxicity and was always protected by all her siblings. Sylvia has been a mother figure to her. Sadie career hops a lot, losing interest rather quickly in everything. They all have a complicated relationship with their mom, but as crazy and difficult as their lives have been, they're always there for each other.

Sylvia for the most part has been financially responsible for her family, bailing them out and helping them whenever they need her.

Antonio's life is a pendulum of love and loss. It started off that way - with a series of miscarriages until Antonio was the first to live past his first year. The people of Brazil waited with long and bated breath for Antonio's arrival. And when it came? When it stuck? Oh, how beloved he was. The prized, Crown Prince of Brazil. His life would be love, but as the realm would come to realize, it would also be loss.

Barely ten years of age when his father passed during the plague. Barely fourteen when his mother suffered from a grave stroke. Barely a boy, much less a King, when the crown settled on his head. Antonio was a pubescent King, guided by a regent Uncle until he turned of age. A combination of youth, early access to power and resources, and the crown itself made Antonio set in his ways. Convinced by courtiers and administrators alike that his word is law - and therefore the way forward. Swashbuckling and proud - Antonio appeared set to be a cad of a King.

But love struck, in the most precarious time; just months after he took on the crown. Elisa was not born with a silver spoon, a title, or a recognized education. Instead, she was a performer and an entertainer without a penny to her name. A most inappropriate choice. But Antonio loved her, the way only a first love can. And he married her, against the advice of counsel and his own family.

It was the first time since birth that Antonio felt the people's disapproval. However, he was convinced that time and tenure would change the people's tune. In time, he would be a great King and she a beloved Queen. But time wasn't on their side. On a diplomatic trip, Elisa's carriage disappeared, leaving a bevy of blood-soaked guards. Another loss.

When it rains, it also blooms; amidst his grief, Brazil's economy and enterprise flourished with Antonio's focus. Chile, longtime allies and partners, were coming up in their own economy when talks of a union began. Despite Antonio's protests, the courtiers convince him of the vitality of a union. And so, with heavy heart, he walks down the aisle for the second time in his life. It wasn't love, so there couldn't be loss.

But Oriana lost something within seconds of their marriage. She sacrificed a part of herself to keep him whole. And though it wasn't his loss, the grief was shared... And so the chasm between them grew, filled with the guilt and uncertainty left unsaid. Even as they welcome their sons into the world, it lingers. A tactful reminder - It was almost love, and in many ways, it is almost a loss.

Despite the weight of his personal affairs, Antonio knows the enviable vantage point Brazil is in after The Reckoning. They have their pick of the litter - who will fourish?
