Summary: The Solomons enjoy quality family time with their young baby daughter as per request by @j23r23
Pairing: Alfie Solomons x F!reader
Warnings: fluff, language, mentions of pregnancy and natural childbirth, oc!daughter, hints at smut
SHARING IS CARING, SO REBLOG.

"She can't even play with that yet, Alf. She's too small" you told him when he brought home a large and lavish dollhouse, carried up to your daughter's nursery room by a couple of his men.
"Course she can't now. But, she will someday. Nothing but the best for my little Laura."
You chuckled and shook your head at his excitement, deciding to let him be happy because he genuinely was.
He has never been prouder of anything in his life.
It was needless to say that Alfie wasn't like most fathers of the time. Every day, you woke up feeling blessed and fortunate enough to be his wife.
Now, you are the mother of his child. Of his first born princess that he was already spoiling with all the finest little clothes and toys.
It's been a few months since you'd brought Laura into the world and Alfie's pride radiated as if he'd just learned he was going to be a father. Having expected the high of newfound fatherhood to fade away with late night nappy changes and early morning hungry cries, you were surprised to find that he was still so thrilled about being a father.
Not only was he proud of his little Laura, but he was still amazed beyond comprehension at your body.
During the pregnancy, he constantly marveled at the growing bump in your belly. Alfie was no fool; he understood perfectly well how a woman's body works, yet it was still the greatest miracle to him.
He never stopped calling you a Goddess for having the power to create life.
The birth of your daughter left him complete ecstasy.
Most men, especially in Jewish traditions, it was uncommon for the father to be present in the room for such a thing. But, then again, Alfie was no common man. He was always far from ordinary.
He insisted on being present to watch the miracle himself.
You'd talked about it before and assured him the midwives would take care of you. After all, he had hired the best staff to take care of you before, during and after the pregnancy.
He still continue to insist on being present - as long as you were comfortable with his presence - to watch his beloved daughter come into the world. He would've brought her out of you himself if only he knew how.
You wondered if it might have been instigated by the jealous thought of having a doctor between your legs.
You were more than grateful that he had insisted so strongly because you truly believe that, if it hadn't been for his motivating words and endearing support, you couldn't have done it by yourself.
Alfie had never cried so much in his entire life as he did when he first heard Laura's cries. You knew right away that Laura would have him wrapped around her wrinkly little finger.
And you were right.
It's late evening when Alfie comes home from an exhausting long day of work.
After hanging his hat and coat, he greets his favorite dog and heads off to search for you and his little Laura only to find you naked in the luxurious porcelain tub of your bathroom with your young 6-month-old daughter, sharing a warm bath.
"Well, ain't this a sight for sore eyes, eh?" he smirks from the doorway.
His heart warms as he sees your eyes light up.
"Baths always help her sleep better."
"Can't blame her," he nods unbuttoning his shirt. "Any room for me?"
"There's always room for you."
Of course there is. You hardly get much time to spend with your husband. The absence has him yearning for his family just the same.
He sinks into the opposite side of the tub with a tired groan, raising the water level to your swollen breasts.
"Give 'er here. Give 'er to poppa."
You carefully handed your daughter over to his hands.
Alfie holds her against his naked burly chest, kissing her head and cheeks as he informs her how much he's missed her in the softest tone.
"Daddy's missed you so much, princess. Yes, I have. Barely got see my little angel today. But that's alright, yeah? Poppa's here now, ain't he? You been good for your mother? Behaved yourself?" he questions as if she could respond, taking the small bowl to fill with water before gently pouring it over her back.
You watch leaning back against the porcelain, and admire the vulnerability of the big bad Alfie Solomons.
The word that spread around only spoke how cruel and cunning he was; of the horrors he was capable of and enjoyed inflicting upon those who betrayed him.
Yet, only you know how he could be the complete opposite. This version of him was for your eyes only and, for that, you felt blessed.
With his large hand cupped over Laura's little bare bum, he smiles as he relishes in the sounds of her giggles emitted every time he pours water over her back.
"Yeah, you like that, eh?" Alfie chuckles. "Want another go?"
She squeals happily as he repeats the action, excitedly pulling at his burly chest hair.
He yelps as he tries to unlatch her tiny fingers from his hairs.
"Got the grip of the Devil, don't she?"
"Tell that to my hair. Have to keep it up all the time so she doesn't turn me bald" you smile at him.
She giggles more enthusiastically as she pulls at them again.
"Ow! Laura, I am your father, young lady" he playfully chastises her.
"I think she takes after you."
"How so?"
"She enjoys hurting others."
"No, I enjoy hurting those who deserve it. I done nothing to deserve this" he chuckles at you.
"That's nothing compared to her biting my tits. If you think she's got hands of the Devil, try her teeth."
"They're starting to come in, innit?" he asks gently pulling her chin down to examine the two little white spots on her lower gums. "You never complained when I nibbled on them" he continues shooting a smirking glance at you.
"That was different" you chuckle back.
"I can be gentle" he replies with a wandering gaze at your chest.
"No. They're sore as fuck, Alf. They're off limits tonight."
"They're irresistible, they are. Fucking tripled in size, innit?" he chuckles. "Fucking 'ell, love. God is a cruel bloke, He is."
You laugh shaking your head. Alfie never fails to make you feel like a goddess, despite the worries you had about your changing body. It was exactly uncommon at the time for men to lose interest in their wives after pregnancy.
You'd seen many women go through it and you feared your fate would've been the same.
Thankfully, pregnancy had the opposite effect on Alfie. He was already eager to get started on the second child.
"All I'm saying is Laura will need a sibling when she's older."
Alfie's debating continued even after your shared bath. You're trying your cotton robe closed as he carries Laura into your bedroom where you had laid out her sleeping clothes beforehand.
"You say that all the time."
"Doesn't it make it less true. Besides, the fun part is trying."
Laying Laura down on the bed with a smirk, he stands upright and faces you.
The way he holds your waist has you melting under his touch. You take advantage of the moment to admire his details.
The wrinkles on his forehead, the disheveled light brown locks shining in the warm light of your room, the hairy tuffs that were peeking out from his robe.
You slide your palms up his strong arms until they rest on the back of his neck.
"Alright. I'll put her down for bed and we can have some fun time of our own" you smile sweetly at him.
His plush lips - hidden in his bushy brown beard - spread widely with mischief and excitement, infecting you with arousal as they made their way to press against your own.
You kiss him deliciously, letting his hand rest against your soft cheek. His tongue flicks against your bottom, already begging for entrance. You allow him it.
The kiss is more than enough to fuel the fire already sparked inside, in the depth of your cores. But you're both brought back to reality when Laura tiredly whines and rubs her sleepy eyes, kicking her chubby legs in the air out of frustration.
You part from Alfie's loving hold on you and bend down to scoop Laura up into your arms, assuring her everything is alright in gentle whispers.
Alfie watches how your loving nature is quick to soothe your fussy daugther in admiration. He loves watching you with her. His wife with his daughter in arms. His family.
All the words in every language would never be enough to describe the joy and pride you bring out in him.
Getting Laura to fall asleep is hardly a challenge. She was already tired from the long day and from staying up a bit past her bedtime.
Once you get her warmly dressed for the night, you sit in her nursery's rocking chair to give her one last feed.
She latches onto your nipple quickly, staring up at you with big doey eyes. The mixture of blue and gray remind you of Alfie. Her long lashes flutter as she slowly blinks, suckling for milk as she holds your index finger in her tiny hand.
You hum as you let her drink her fill, hoping to lull her sleep.
She can't resist the building sleep no matter how hard she tries. At this point, she's not even trying to drink anymore. Her eyelids grow heavier with every blink.
Gently tucking your breast back into your robe, you rest Laura's head against your shoulder as you gently pat her back to burp her.
She tries to fuss about having her favorite source of nutrition taken away, but her exhaustion dominates.
It doesn't her long to fall asleep.
Before setting Laura in her crib without stirring her too much, you kiss her head and thank the universe for blessing you such a precious little angel to care for and love.
Walking back to your room, you search Alfie but you find he's no longer there. So, you walk down the hall and the stairs in search of your husband, knowing exactly where to find him.
The office door is open as the light shines, providing the only light in the hallway. As you lean in the doorway, you smile and tap against the wooden door.
"She go down alright or put up a fuss?" Alfie smiles looking up at you from his paperwork.
"No fuss tonight. I think she was really tired." You walk into his office with a smile as you make your way towards him. "Now it's time for the grown-ups to have some fun."
Alfie smirks as his chair spins, watching you struct over to his side. His eyes scan over your frame, drinking in the sight of you as you untie your robe, letting the fabric part and shyly reveal your naked body.
"Unless you'd like to stay down here and work?"
He chuckles as he stands and kisses you tenderly, holding your face in his hands as if you're made of the most delicate and precious glass with his rough fingertips gently propping your chin up to make you face him.
"Love, the only work I've got to do is fucking you until you can't walk."

“Who let you in?” the man who was sitting facing the open balcony door asked.
“How’d you know it was me?” the other man, who was standing at the entrance of the room, responded with his own question.
“Smelt the smoke and horse shit the second you stepped through that archway,” the first man mused, earning a snort from the second. “So I’ll ask again: who let you in?”
“Your wife…”
“Figures she did,” the first man cut the second off, muttering the comment under his breath.
“Your wife’s assistant let me in after she told me to get lost and slammed the door in my face,” the rest of the statement was shared, which made the first man finally spin in his seat to look back towards the archway.
Silence hung in the air for a few moments, the two men staring at each other from several paces away…much like they had on that fated day all those months ago. “So why didn’t ya listen to her?” the first man finally broke the quiet, his quip conjoined with a look of query.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it, Alfie?” the second man asked, his eyebrows just slightly raised.
“It has,” the first man nodded, pursing his lips together for a moment before he continued, “yet it is still sooner than the day in which I thought I’d see Tommy Shelby again.”
Tommy Shelby just shook his head at the man’s remark, looking at the ground as he pursed his lips. It didn’t faze him in the slightest.
“Why’re you here then?” Alfie asked, still wanting to get to the bottom of the Birmingham man’s presence. However, he interjected again before said man even had the chance to speak: “you’ve come to finish me off, haven’t ya? Since ya couldn’t get it right the first time.”
“I’ve come with something,” Tommy answered, not even bothering to respond to Alfie’s second comment.
He then stepped towards the chair that the other man was sitting in, his hands still behind his back. Anyone else would have wondered if maybe they’d got it right…maybe he was actually there to finish his old adversary off. But Alfie wasn’t bothered in the slightest. No, he could tell from the manner in which Tommy approached him.
“I want to offer a congratulations…on your daughter,” Tommy finished his statement once he was standing in front of Alfie. Alfie looked him over with raised eyebrows, wondering just how a busy, business-minded man like him would have gotten such information. “(Y/N) told me the news. She got word of it from Rose,” Tommy gave the curious man some more information.
“That Rosie…” Alfie mused with a slight shake of his head, “I had a feelin’ that she hadn’t cut off all contact with you Shelbys.” He couldn’t help but smile at the thought of his wife still keeping up a regular correspondence with the wife of the man who’d shot him.
(Y/N) and Rose had hit it off practically from the moment they met each other. Their friendship went beyond their husbands’ business partnership, and so when one disgruntled husband aimed a gun at the other and pulled the trigger, the two women tried hard not to let it come completely between them. There some time where radio silence prevailed…actually most out the time over the course of the last year was filled with radio silence, but it didn’t seem like a beat was missed when Rose contacted (Y/N) to tell her of the newest addition to the Solomons family.
Although Tommy was more hesitant to make amends, he couldn’t deny his wife’s request to deliver something to the newest Solomons.
“She wanted me to give you this,” Tommy then said, finally revealing the tan, stuffed rabbit that he’d brought with him. “To give to her,” he included, making his intentions more clear.
“I knew you weren’t givin’ me a stuffed rabbit,” Alfie quipped, snorting to himself before continuing, “or at least I hope you were plannin’ to.”
“I wasn’t planning on doing that, Alfie, no,” Tommy shook his head, dismissing the comment before it gained any ground. “The rabbit’s for your girl.”
Alfie took a moment to look over the other man again. He was still holding the rabbit out in front of him, waiting for Alfie to take it. Tommy wondered how long Alfie was going to make him stand like this.
Finally he took it. “She’ll like it,” Alfie stated, eyeing over the animal from close up now. He couldn’t deny that it felt soft in his hands. Allie would surely love it. “Thanks, Tommy.”
“My three couldn’t go to bed without it,” Tommy commented, a small smile gracing his lips as he thought of his three daughters and the love they had for that very stuffed rabbit.
A look of realization flashed across Alfie’s face as he heard Tommy’s comment. He brought his hand up to his jaw and ran it down his cheek slowly, stroking his beard as if he was in thought. “Have a seat,” he then said, gesturing to the chair that was set directly across from the one he was sitting in. He waited until the other man was seated before continuing, “three girls, huh?” he mused, sounding like he was talking more so to himself than anything.
“Yeah,” Tommy nodded in response.
“A proper girl dad,” Alfie commented then.
“A what?” Tommy asked with furrowed eyebrows.
“You’re a dad that’s got all girls, hence the fucking term girl dad…stick with it, Tommy,” the response came laden with derision.
Tommy raised his eyebrows at the other man’s comments, looking to the ground as he let the air cool off before he cleared his throat and nodded his head. “Yeah, a girl dad then.” He ran a hand along the back of his head as he spoke, wondering if he was even using the term correctly. Alfie didn’t comment, so he guessed that he didn’t seem to care none.
Instead the newer father continued on with the conversation. “Does it ever get hard?”
“What? Being a girl dad?” Tommy looked over at him again.
“No, not being able to hit your fucking mark when you’re fifteen fucking paces away,” Alfie retorted, “yes, being a girl dad,” he then exaggerated his words.
Tommy bit his tongue yet again. He wasn’t here to get into a fight with Alfie Solomons. The rabbit currently sitting in the other man’s lap was supposed to serve as a sort of olive branch.
“It does,” he finally answered after a moment’s pause.
“Give me some fuckin’ detail, mate,” Alfie asked.
“Fuckin’ hell, Alfie,” Tommy sighed under his breath, pressing the pads of his thumbs against his eyelids. He cleared his throat again as he thought of how he’d answer the question. “It’s been hard from the moment we brought Thea home. A different sort of hard than the ‘hard’ I’ve experienced prior. But it’s also been rewarding...with Thea, then Evie and now Juniper. I’ve learned more from them than from anything else I’ve ever done.”
Alfie took a moment to digest what his confidant had just shared with him. He truly didn’t expect Tommy Shelby to come out with such meaningful statements. I guess even the worst of men can change their tones, he thought to himself. “I didn’t know ya had it in ya, Tommy,” he commented, exuding a breath of a laugh as he shook his head.
Tommy kept his eyes locked on Alfie unsure of how to respond to his comment. He wondered if this was all some sort of game…if Alfie now wanted to toy with him; getting him to open up just to use the information against him.
“Thanks for sharing it though. I, uh…” Alfie paused, the sound of his voice cutting through Tommy’s thoughts and making him focus in again. “I’ll take all of the help I can get with this one. They say that raising a child takes a fucking village, or however that fucking saying goes.”
“There’s a great deal of joy in it too,” Tommy made sure to add, hoping to convey that having daughters, or kids at all for that matter, wasn’t only stressful. “I just know that I wouldn’t be able to do it without (Y/N) though.”
“That’s the same with me and my Rosie. A fuckin’ trooper, that woman is,” Alfie agreed in regards to his wife. Truthfully, he wouldn’t be here right now if it weren’t for Rose Solomons. He genuinely owed his life to her…and he was going to spend the rest of it showing her.
Silence fell between the two men then, both sitting comfortably in their thoughts of the women they had in their lives, and of how much their respective wives meant to them. The silence hung until the sound of small feet came pattering off of the hardwood in the hallway.
“Daddy! Daddy!” a shrill voice of a small girl soon accompanied the hurried footsteps. Said girl quickly appeared in the archway of Alfie office. Along with her frantic demeanor, Alfie was also able to see streaks of tears on her chreks.
“What’s wrong, Allie?” he asked her, his brows furrowing together.
“Cyril chewed on my stuffie, daddy!” she exclaimed, hiccuping as she spoke through her tears. “It was my favorite stuffie!”
“Awe now love, I’m sorry about that,” Alfie began, opening his arms to the child as she came over to him. She quickly fell into them, and he wasted no time in hugging her tightly. “He’s just a brute that knows nothing of favorite stuffies,” he consoled her as she continued to sniffle her tears away.
Tommy watched on as the moment played out in front of him. He laughed to himself as hearing the reason behind the problem at hand took him back to the moments where Cyril had chewed his girls’ stuffies; there had to have been several instances during the dog’s stay at Arrow House.
“I don’t have a stuffie now, daddy,” Allie whimpered, finally lifting her head from her father’s chest. “Mum said it was too covered in slobber to be saved.”
“Well I’ve got just the fix for ya, Allie,” Alfie began, unwrapping one of his arms from her so that he could blindly search for the stuffed rabbit that Tommy had just handed him. He continued when he found the animal, “now I know it’s no bear, and I know that your favorite stuffies have all been bears, but this lovely little lass was just placed upon my lap moments before you came runnin’ in.”
Allie’s eyes immediately found the rabbit, and she had it in her tight embrace within an instant. “This stuffie is so soft! And she has a lovely bow!” she observed, now beaming with excitement. “Thank you so much, daddy!” she smiled at her father.
“Thanks have to go to that man,” Alfie told his daughter, nodding in Tommy’s direction. He bit his tounge and stopped the urge to add ‘the one who shot your father’ because even he knew this wasn’t the time for that. He didn’t want to bring that feud into Allie’s realm.
“What’s his name?” Allie asked in a loud whisper, her shy eyes finding Tommy’s.
“Tell ‘er your name, mate,” Alfie beckoned Tommy to share the information.
“It’s Tommy,” the other man followed suit, smiling as he spoke.
Allie observed him for a moment, surely trying to decide what she felt about him. A few beats of silence passed before a smile formed on her face. “Thank you, Mr. Tommy,” she said in a small voice.
“You’re welcome, Allie,” Tommy nodded, his smile widening.
“Dad you have to yell at Cyril now,” Allie turned back to her dad, a deep frown present on her face.
“I’ll make sure he knows what he’s done,” Alfie assured her, “go play, love.”
With one last smile, Allie hopped off of her father’s lap and exited the room almost as quick as she entered it.
“That fuckin’ dog…” Alfie trailed off, shaking his head, “why’d you give him back?”
“You wanted him back, Alfie,” Tommy answered in a monotone voice.
“You may be right,” Alfie conceded, cracking a smile as he thought about the dog.
“Your daughter’s lovely,” Tommy commented.
“She is, ain’t she?” Alfie answered, “light of my fuckin’ life, that girl…both her and her mum.”
Tommy nodded, his mind going to his wife and daughters. There was no doubt that he shared the same sentiment towards his girls.
Oh, the joys of being a girl dad…even if — or rather when, because it’ll surely happen again — Tommy and Alfie were at odds with each other, they’ll always have the shared title as something they can both relate to.

“When you wear nothing at all” (Alfie Solomons x fem!oc)
Tumblr media
Alfie x Rose masterlist
Summary: After her birthday party, a masquerade that Alfie organised without her knowledge, the couple is resting alone in their house. A piece of cake and sweet words it's all they need to share. Of course, she notices that he's still wearing his mask and she knows why: the mask is a perfect excuse to cover his scar. But Rose also knows how to make him feel better "You know, Al? I like you more when you wear nothing at all."
Warnings: None. Although some things could be a bit suggestive but it's almost nothing.
Words: 1.7 k || I wanted to post this last night, but I couldn't.
Tumblr media
1928
The party is over. The guests left Margate and only the owners of the house remained now.
Rose is sitting on Alfie, resting her sore feet on the armrest of the couch where both are. The shoes are somewhere between the entrance of the house and the living room. On her lap there's a slice of cake that both are sharing. Their daughter went with her uncle Samuel to sleep in his house, giving them the chance to be alone.
"Open," she says with the fork near his mouth, offering him a bit of it, he accepted it. "I didn't tell you but this is delicious, Al," Rose adds looking at him.
"Thanks, sweetheart. I'm glad you liked it."
"Everything you organized today for me was perfect, you didn't have to."
"No, maybe, but you deserved it, luv."
Alfie knows that he couldn't do it without her. Not just now, but always. Rose is the most important woman in his life. The only one in fact. And that party wasn't enough to compensate all the things she did for him.
In that living room only illuminated by the moonlight, the couple find a moment of peace.
"You know," she says looking at Alfie before eating another piece of cake. "I like you more when you wear nothing at all."
Her husband chuckled, misinterpreting her words "that's for later, Rosie."
She smiles at well "I'm not referring to that, Al. But to this."
With her finger, she touches the mask that he's still wearing. "Just this. Why are you still wearing it?"
"I like it and it cost several hundred pounds. I want to use it as long as possible."
The mask is indeed beautiful. It's gold plated and even has little gems on it. Alfie ordered two in one of the most exclusive jewelry shop in London. One it was for her and the other for him.
But Rose knows there's another reason. Since the attempted murder by Thomas Shelby, that fortunately cost him only his eyesight in one of his eyes and a scar on his cheek, something in him changed. The hats that he wears now are bigger than in previous times and if they decided to go out, he always preferred the nighttime. She understood, people were always judging. But not her, much less to him.
"Okay," she says kissing his other cheek.
Rose puts the empty plate on the floor and rests her head on his chest. Alfie embraces her tightly at the same time that she relaxes against him.
It's summer already, it's more than midnight and the calendar says that it's already 21th of June. The summer solstice.
Alfie partly believes in magic, he has to believe because his prophetic dreams aren't infrequently and sometimes are quite accurate. So he knows that his wife was born exactly when she had to. Because she's warm and radiant like the sunlight in spring but not suffocating like the summer sun. Sometimes, when he's sitting exactly where he is now and he sees Rose walking around the house, back and forth, and her dress following her movements, he can't help but think that she looks like a butterfly flying over a garden. A grumpy butterfly, but a very nice one.
And that's his Rosie, so different from him. Especially since the incident with Tommy, she's a being full of life and he feels that he lost part of it.
No party is enough for her, neither is an expensive mask and, sometimes, Alfie believes that not even him is enough for her.
"I love you," she says snuggling up and planting a little kiss on his neck.
"I love you too, pet."
"Let me see you," she says, trying to untie his mask but he moves his head back. "I see you every day and night. Why can't I now?"
"It'll break the magic, luv."
Rose giggles, "what are you talking about?"
"The magic trick where I'm the same as ever."
"You're the same as ever."
"I'm not. But I can pretend. Tonight no one stared at me like I was a fucking freak. Everyone was wearing masks and so I was, so I was one of them, too."
"They're our friends, Al. No one of them would stare at you like you think. It's in your head, Alfie. Not true."
Alfie isn't sure. It's true they were their friends but… The scar is that part of Alfie that he couldn't make amends with himself.
"If you take your mask off, I take my dress off. Come on, Solomons. I didn't show you my gratitude for the birthday party but I can start now."
"You're bribing me, sweetheart."
"How dare you?!" Rose leaves her spot on his legs and stood up. "It's business. You're a businessman, I'm a businesswoman. One thing for another. It's fair… the beach is waiting us, Solomons. This time the two of us alone."
Alfie watches her unzipping her own dress as she looks at him over her already bare shoulder. Her mischievous smile appears in her face before she starts to down the stairs and Alfie can't help but mimick her.
"Fuckin' 'ell…"
She's quicker than him. Far away in time were the days when he was the faster of the two of them, but he doesn't mind. Alfie goes after her and when he reaches the back door, he sees her in the seashore. The black dress she was wearing is now over the sand, like it is part of the landscape.
She's wearing nothing but her panties now. From the distance he can see the curves of her body, that one that he knows so well.
Alfie can't remember the moment he took off his mask, nor his shoes. Next time he's conscious of his actions is when his arms finally find her waist again. He starts to kiss her neck, as his hands go where only he can explore.
"Did you take it off?" she's not watching at him. Her eyes were on the sea when she hugged her from behind. And now are closed, feeling him.
"I did. You know how to convince me, luv. And how to make my ghosts go away."
She turns around and put a hand on his face, her thumb is caressing his scar with tenderness. Alfie his hands are on her hips and he leans in to kiss her. If any demon is trying to get in his head now, it's impossible because in his mind is only her.
Maybe he's not faster as he used to be, but he's still stronger than her and that's not going to change. Easily he picks her up and both end lying on the sand, one over the other.
"I like you more when you wear nothing at all," he says throwing away the last piece of clothing that she was wearing. His cocky smile is decorating his face and it makes her laugh. Both of them kiss again.
It's good that the beach is their private spot in the world because soon he's naked as she is. They know they're alone, especially at those hours and and during a night that it's far from being warm, but that apparently they don't mind.
The beach is quiet except for the sound of the waves and the words he's whispering in her ear. Rose is his arms now, after the moment they shared together.
"I love you," he says once more.
"Me too, Al. And to me you're the most perfect man on Earth. As always. I don't care about this," she says touching his face once again. "Besides, it gives you that appearance of bad boy."
He lets out a laugh that could be heard across the empty beach "bad boy, eh? Ya like that, ain't you?"
"Do you want me to lie?," she pushes herself away from him a bit, "I have sand in every part of my body and I need a hot bath. Let's go inside so I can show you how much I love bad boys."
"Again?" he props on his elbow to look at her who's already on her feet. Alfie is still smirking.
"The night is young, my love. And I deserve a second gift."
She winks at him and waving her hips, Rose starts to walk towards their house again. The woman can hear his footsteps behind her and smiles.
Maybe it's still her birthday night, but it's Alfie, apparently, who's going to get another present from her.
And for her, his happiness, is the best thing she can receive.

ALFIE SOLOMONS MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Camden Town: 1920’s
Out of all the places in the entire country of London, Sylvia and her family had no choice but to stay in a place called Camden Town. They weren’t welcome that was for sure. As none residents, gypsies were considered to be nothing but untrustworthy, scum, and the lowest of the low. Knowing that they have to live and remind themselves that was how they were born and raised.
They had a wonderful life back in their hometown in France. There was a piece of land right off the coast, where it was peaceful, safe, calm, and overall where they were far away from the city. Her father Andre, had a job there as a carpenter but he did get little pay for what it was. The amount of money he would win almost went entire to have food on the table. Until one day the owner decided to let him go swing that his business wasn’t making as much as before. And leaving their lovely home behind they ended up in the city across the ocean.
Even for a family of 6 including Sylvia, it was hard to cope seeing that her mother Kezia, has to take care mostly the baby of the family Kaven. Her two baby sisters Zana and Risa are at the age of heading to their womanhood. Knowing that both of her parents with a heavy heart need to send of their daughters to find good suitors that will take care of them. Sylvia as being the oldest, isn’t fully prepare to have to go with someone she doesn’t even love or know about much. Even for a place like London where everyone wouldn’t even want glimpse her way for one bit.
Once they arrived to their new home a year ago, It was hard to get use to the amount of new surroundings. The tall grass fields were something to enjoy and being around. Thought the amount of strangers passing by with their automobiles was something that bothered the Voltaire family the most. Even through the year they at one point already got use to seeing many travelers and car machines so many times. Seeing that his father was trying his best to find a job around town, it seemed that he wasn’t going anywhere knowing that he was an outcast.
“Papa, maman, why can’t we just leave this place already?” Said Risa in their French tongue while they had late night dinner around the campfire.
“Because your papá my dear has some news to tell you all, and darling please try to speak your English a bit more,” Kezia said while attending the now 6 month old Kaven in one arm poking around the wood for the fire to still be on.
“My dear Kezia please, let them speak the tongue we have been born to learn,” said Andre to her which she just nodded her head quietly until he gave the big news. “My dear girls, I finally found a new job that will finally help us not go without any food on the anymore. And I will start by tomorrow.”
Risa, Zana, and Sylvia all looked at each other as if his father is telling a lie.
“Wait papa, are you certain of this? How did you manage to convince the owner of this new job?” Asked Sylvia not believing what her ears are hearing.
“It is true, and the wonderful thing is a bakery which you all know that I use to make some great bread back home. And I wanted to share with you all that I will start tomorrow,” said Andre feeling a lot of hope for such a new opportunity that he has been waiting for so long.
“Papa what wonderful news, but does the owner know that you are well a gypsy?” Sylvia said feeling worried that if the owner of the shop finds out that they are outsiders.
“I only mentioned that we are a family of 6 and that we have been poor for a very long time. He didn’t ask for my background and instead he understood about our situation. He saw me as a human being and not a stranger, and he gave me the job right away,” Andre said though in reality the owner was more then just a simple baker and something that he had to keep to himself.
“We can finally go back home, to our small and beautiful beach again,” said Risa having an excited smile on her face knowing that she had enough of this place.
“We will go back home my children, I promise you all that with as much money as I can collect we will go back. But that is all tonight we should all get some rest now, goodnight my girls,” said Andre getting up on his feet while Risa and Zana did the same.
As every made their way to their individual tents Sylvia heard her name called out by her father.
“Yes father, is there something wrong?” She anxiously said hoping that it was nothing bad.
“Nothings wrong my dear, me and your mother wanted to talk with you alone without the girls being here,” her father said which Sylvia was confused with why she needed to be there alone.
Though Sylvia didn’t want to question it to much she instead took a seat on top of a wooden log.
“What is it that you and mother want to speak about with me me?”
Both her mother and father looked at each other without any words. Knowing that what her father will say next will make their oldest daughter upset.
“My lovely dear, promise me that you will not be in what I will say to you next. Just always removed that I and your mother love you with all of our hearts and soul,” Andre said as he placed a gentle hand on top of Sylvia’s left knee which she just stood quiet, “The owner of the bakery requested that if you would like to work for him as his own personal book keeper. And that he would like to meet you tomorrow, I know this sounds much but I also think and pray that maybe this man could be a potential suitor for you. It’ll be a way for you to have a good life for you knowing that we want what’s best you my love.”
“Father aren’t you hearing yourself? You think this man that you just met think he could bring me happiness not knowing if he might have any bad intentions? No, I will not work for him even if the money seems fair but I won’t accept it,” Sylvia said not believing in what she is hearing.
How could her mother agree to this not knowing what type of men could be dangerous out there especially if they are not gypsy by blood.
“Sylvia please, listen to your father. What if he is right, what if this man could give you everything you could ask for? And not live the way we do? I want also the best for you and for your sisters and Kaven. I don’t want to see any of you continue living like we are doing at this moment. Just go with your father and see the owner for yourself. But don’t forget to always keep your guard up my dear like we have always taught you,” Kezia begged knowing that she didn’t like where this was going but she also hoped for something good to come from this man.
The oldest daughter only sighed in defeat and agreed to go with his father to the bakery. Knowing that whatever this man is offering for her and her father is for good fortune.
****
The Next Morning
Sylvia and her father walked in a busy and noisy street as they made their way to where the bakery was located. From being on the fields for a year long this was more than what she expected. Some horses pulling wagons, men of all ages covered in dust and black powder from head to toe and the smell of coal and steel was in the air. It was a busy morning as they picked up the pace, trying to get to their meeting with the owner of the bakery in time. Sylvia wore something that would look presentable and clean though she ended up wearing one her mothers old black long sleeve dress. Which she was grateful to wear but also it made her look like if she was going to meet her doom. As some time went by they finally made it to the place where Andre knocked on two wooden doors a couple of times. The door was then opened which they were greeted by a young man who was in his mid to late 20’s.
“Mr. Voltaire, I presume yes?” The man asked which Andre took his brown cap off from his head.
“Yes I am he, and I also brought with me my daughter Sylvia. Does your owner want to see us already?” Andre asked while he wiped a bit of sweat that formed in front of his forehead.
“Mr. Solomon’s does want to see you both already. Come in,” said the young man directing them more deeper inside the brown lit shop.
There were mountains of barrels stacked from side of side, the smell of fresh dough being made and oddly enough there was a hint of of rum witching the same smell. Making their way to another pair of wooden doors, there was another long hallway with many men working from one station to another. Until one particular man was making their way towards Sylvia and Andre the one that everyone feared the most throughout the town of Camden.
“Mr. Solomon’s, this is Andre the one who was asking for a job yesterday. He wants to speak with you,” Ollie said which his boss didn’t say a thing until he was standing in front of them.
“Righ’ well Mr. Voltaire, a very good mornin’ to you sir. And yes i would to still go over some discussions with you about the job. And where I me manners, but who is this lovely woman here with you?” Said Alfie looking at his direction towards Sylvia which she just stood quiet but felt warm inside.
“My daughter Mr. Solomon’s, Sylvia Voltaire she is the oldest of the three. I brought her along to see if you wanted to still find someone with who to keep your booking. And I thought my Sylvia would be a good use in your business sir. She might not have the experience but we would be grateful if you can teach her,” Andre said hoping that it would convince Alfie to bring her in.
Alfie was quiet for a moment until he looked at Sylvia’s way looking at her up and down. She didn’t know what else to say or do she only could stay still while the bearded man thought for a moment or two if she looked like a good fit for a place like this. Though something did caught her eye about him, which it was odd to say the least. He seemed grumpy, broad, intelligent, and overall very attractive. Like from the looks of his body structure he seems to know what he does for a living and that this place itself has been booming for quite a while. She also caught a glimpse of his right hand with a small tattoo crown not knowing if it means something or just for display. Feeling like time has gone by so slowly, Alfie then finally spoke up.
“She will do, don’ you worry Mr. Voltaire, Ollie here will teach your daughter what she needs to do with me book keeping’s. Don’t you worry, I know she will be a good helping around here,” said Alfie giving a small smirk at Sylvia which she just bow her head in acknowledgment.
“Thank you Mr.Solomon’s for the opportunity, I promise to be of great use to you and for your work environment. But I also would like to thank you more for giving my father this job, we are grateful to find someone like you sir,” Sylvia said hoping that she didn’t sound very overly thankful.
“It’s nothin’ love and for next time don’t call sir or Mr. Solomon’s. Form now on yea, you will address as alfie and nothin’ more alrigh’?” He said while he liked her already for how polite she is.
As the morning went by, it suddenly became 2 o’ clock in the afternoon. Both Sylvia and her father have seen and learned so much in just almost a whole day. Andre knew what to expect since Mr. Solomon’s told him that he had an underground business that not even the coppers don’t know about. Though it did worry for the safety of Sylvia, and the rest of his family. Wondering if this was the right thing to bring her daughter to such a place and to be part of gangster organization. It was a lot to think for Andre to take in and he didn’t know if he should continue this path or not.
“Well now you and your daughter can go home for today, but starting tomorrow right’ is when it will get serious. And Mr. Voltaire is it possible if I could have a word alone with Sylvia,” Alfie said to which Andre felt nervous to be asked such a question but he did agree.
Sylvia and Ollie didn’t mind what time of day it was, as they were mostly bust sorting papers and writing down on the big note books. She did manage to learn quickly right away seeing that it was just writing many sorts of name items and to calculate how many sales were being sold. Knowing that she didn’t speak much English and her reading wasn’t the best, Sylvia was determined to not give up on this opportunity. Knowing that this will help not only for herself but for her family as well even if it means that she needs to stay some long nights. While she tried to know what papers have to properly be placed on the door to the small office was opened seeing her father in the entrance.
“Sylvia, umm… Mr. Solomons would like to have a moment with you,” Andre said to her in their native tongue which she looked confused but she didn’t ask another word.
Once they made it to Alfie’s office, which the oldest daughter was a bit confused as to why Alfie needs tor see her. Though once inside, he saw him sitting on the side of his big long desk filled with many piles of papers, the smell of whiskey, and dust above the atmosphere. He didn’t notice their presence right away, as Andre ands Sylvia walked up in front of the desk.
“Ah, righ’ Sylvia. I would like to speak to you about your position here in me bakery. It’s nothing bad if that’s what you are thinking love, but please have a seat,” Alfie said standing up on his feat and guiding the gypsy girl to sit.
She looked back at her father for a moment, which he just gave her a look of reassurance and that everything is fine. Though Andre and Alfie did have a talk earlier about having to bring Sylvia to this business. But it is something that Alfie himself that should tell her and it gave Andre some hope.
“I’ll leave you both alone, I’ll wait for you outside my dear,” said Andre lastly making his way out of the room hearing the door closed shut.
“You’re wondering why I need here alone with me love, and I’ll explain everything in a moment. But firstly righ’, what do you think of this job overall?” Alfie then asked taking his seat once more letting out a low sigh grunt.
“Well it is quite easy actually, however even if my English isn’t very well and my reading is a bit low I don’t see why I should not stop coming here and learn more. I honestly am doing this for my father and my family, we have been poor for a year. We had to leave home from France because well, my fathers old job wasn’t doing no good, and that is why we are here in London. Faith has always been on our side and I believe fate has come to us so quickly because of you Alfie. And I want to say again that we are very grateful that you accepted us as hard workers and not something else,” Sylvia said while Alfie listen to everything that almost what Andre said to him and he knew that this family was in need to help.
“I am sorry to hear that love, I can’ imagine that you all had to move across the ocean to land here. But I also want to say this. Your father and I have come to an agreement about you being here in me bakery, but promised him that I’ll be keeping an eye on you including my partner Ollie. As you can see yea, there are many men in this place as you have noticed. However, yea, if they ever try to lay a finger on you even give you the eye to your way, they are fuckin’ dead and will never see the light of day ever again. I know it sounds harsh for you but it is a promise that I am keeping for yous and your dear old father. How does that sound to you lass?” Alfie said seeing Sylvia’s facial expression change to confusion.
“Wait, my, my father told you all about us, but why would you try to help us?” Sylvia said trying to understand why her father would mention about everyone in the family.
“Your father asked for a favor he feels that if you are around with me you will be safe. And I could be very protective when it comes to having women around in me shop. But you don’t have to worry about that love, and well you all seem to be good people and I have been at my lowest before and I know how that life is like. However righ’, you and your family are under me eyes now starting tomorrow and showing you my humbleness towards you all and you deserve it,” alfie said in the end giving a small smile at Sylvia which she did return the smirk.
“Thank you Alfie, but how can we repay you back? This is just so much to take in.”
“No need to my dear, besides a pretty woman like you is worth saving and having around,” he added to which Sylvia could only blush at his comment.
“Again thank you Mr. Solomons. I mean, Alfie, but I will see you in the morning along with my father. But may I ask you a question and don’t take this in a wrong way. Why me and not another woman?” She asked knowing that there is more girls out there that would interest Alfie more than her.
“Is that really a question to ask treacle? You want to know the truth of why I see something in you than any other woman in this town?” He said standing up on his feet once again resting his hands on top of his hips while Sylvia felt a lump forming in her throat seeing while she sat still. “Because you’re different, and I like to know who you really are truly Sylvia Voltaire. And well, maybe if you would like to go out sometime to dinner with me if that’s what you wish for that is.”
Sylvia had nothing much to say but she stood quiet for a moment. Her fathers boss is asking her for dinner and wants to get to know her better is something out of this word. No man has ever said such a thing to her before until now. Especially Alfie that was not of gypsy origin but is willing to have some interest in her and wanting to get to know her better.
“Oh… well Alfie I don’t know what to say about all of this. I mean you are the first man to ask me out which that has never happened to me before. Though may I have to think about this, its just its soon to say but I need a moment to give you my word,” she then said hoping that it didn’t bother Alfie for one bit.
But to her surprise, Sylvia didn’t expect to what Alfie had to say next.
“No love please, by all means have all the time that you need. And your righ’, I’m sorry for askin’ out of nowhere. Please forgive me for sounding like an eager prick,” Alfie said knowing that this was a bad idea to ask in the first place.
“No Alfie, you should not apologize its just… you asked me so politely and I think that’s very attractive coming from you,” she said without thinking wishing she could take back what she just said right now.
“Did I now? Well I am flattered to be your first then love. But you should head home now, yea. I’ll see you both here again tomorrow morning. Is it alright if I could escort yous out? If that is fine with you of course?” Alfie said while Sylvia was caught with surprise again.
Is this man gone out of his head???…
“I. Well… yes that would be lovely thank you Alfie,” Sylvia said without stopping herself to which Alfie nodded his head.
As they both made their way outside of the entrance, both Alfie and Sylvia exchanged their last goodbyes. While doing so, she extended her hand out to Alfie both of their hands were clasp together.
“Thank you again Alfie, and see you soon again,” she lastly said feeling her hand against his larger hand feeling butterflies fluttering inside her stomach.
Once they shook hands, she made her way to where her father was waiting, as Alfie looked on seeing Sylvia leave. She then looked back for a moment, giving a small smile towards his way to which he did the same without noticing it himself.
This will be something exciting to look forward to… and I hope it is for the best….

Margate: Two Years Later
Waking up to the sound of the ocean waves was what Sylvia have missed for so long. She never thought she would be close to the sea ever again, but it has finally come true once again. And that was all on Alfie that gave her everything that she could ever wish for. After being at his so call bakery everyday, they both became closer together. And she did ended up going out with Alfie whenever no one was looking or listening especially her father. They did their best to pretend to be just partners from work, but in reality both Sylvia and Alfie started to build a bond together. Having a hard time not wanting to be separated from each other. Whenever he had meetings to attend too or some “errands” to go too, he would tell her to stay for her safety. Though Sylvia did at some point found out that he was this infamous gangster of Camden Town, but it didn’t make her look at him differently. What she cared about the most was the way he cared for her, keeping her safe from harm, and overall being treated like what a girl should be treated. Until now everything was perfect and grateful for everything that this life has given to her and her family. They were given another opportunity to be able to live like actual people, and as for Alfie generosity and humbleness, he did make a propose to Sylvia and her family.
“Sylvia, wake up, wake up, let’s go down to the seashore again. There are so many sea shells here then we have sene back home. Come on wake up,” Risa exclaimed gently tugging on her sisters right hand which she just grunted in reply.
“Hmmm, Risa please, its to early in the morning, can’t you wait later in the afternoon,” Sylvia said in a lazy voice, recasting turning her head the other way.
“Awww your no fun, please sister just this one time. I promise I wont ask you again next time,” she begged again to which Sylvia became quiet for a moment.
“Fine just give me a moment yes?” She mumbled to which she just heard her little sister said “yay” hearing her footsteps fade away.
She suddenly felt a shift on her left side along with a strong arm wrapping around her stomach.
“Good mornin’ my pet,” said a huskily Alfie also trying his best to wake up from his semi sleep.
“Hmm, good morning to you as well my love,” Sylvia said back as they both exchange a long kiss.
She then wrapped her arms around his strong, broad chest as they press their lips closer together.
“Sylvia. Come down please,” Zana called out this time, to which Sylvia groaned in annoyance.
“Well this kiss didn’t last so long as it did last night,” Sylvia joked making Alfie chuckle.
“Well don’t be so disappointed my dove, there is more of that later tonight. I promise you,” he said giving her a cheeky wink
It was has been almost a year of being together since Alfie asked Sylvia to be hers. It shocked her at first but she knew right away that she found her one true love. Even thought they came from different origins their love for each other was nothing to ignore. Alfie embraced Sylvia’s culture he was even willingly to learn French from her which he had approved very well. As for the rest of her family, they ended up having a home build in Margate next to Alfie’s. Which Andre and Kezia felt nothing but grateful towards Alfie’s knowing that this man was sent from the heavens. They have long for some peace and quiet and they their dreams did came true.
“Come on then love, let’s see what today awaits us ahead yea?” Alfie then asked making Sylvia come back to her senses.
“You lead the way my king.”

“Little girl”- Alfie Solomons x oc daughter [Requested]
Here is a little Alfie action, as requested from a girl on Wattpad. I love Alfie and I love imaging him in a domestic situation with kids. I hope you like this, can’t wait to know what you think about it!

Alfred Solomons.
His name alone was enough to make grown-ass men shiver in fear. Whenever he walked into a room, everyone unconsciously moved to the side to let him pass. With just a look he was able to convey terror and make people shit in their pants. Whatever he said, goes. That was how things went in Camden or everywhere where people were aware of he was and what he was capable of. His reputation preceded him. He had grown quite used to it, he liked being the boss.
What he was not accustomed to was dealing with a fifteen years old young girl that had inherited stubbornness, sheer force of will and determination from him. She was a force to be reckoned with, he knew that much and was already wishing good luck to whoever will stand in her way. Of course, she didn’t fear him. Not one inch of fear was linked to his name when it came to her. Sure, she was aware of the fact that her father wouldn’t hesitate to punish her and locked her in their house if needed but she also knew that he was absolutely smitten with her and most of the time, he allowed her to have her way.
Countless were the fights that her parents had for this reason. Her mother tried to give her rules and make her follow them, but of course, if there was anything that her father had taught her was that rules were meant to be broken. It was a lost cause really, but her mother, just as stubborn and strong-headed as her husband, wasn’t too keen on letting this go. There were things on which she didn’t compromise. At the same time, she had been a young girl once too and knew the desire for freedom that comes with that age. So this was that rare situation in which her father was more rigid than her mother. For obvious reasons, he couldn’t empathise with his daughter when she asked him if she could go to the party like her mother did. The only thing that came to his mind as soon as he heard her request was the danger she could find herself in and that he couldn’t possibly protect her from being at home.
It seemed like the obvious decision to make to him so imagine his surprise when his wife, for the first time, took their daughter’s side. Had she gone out of her mind? Did she not see how dangerous it was? Their daughter was just a little girl, to send her in a place they didn’t know about, with people he didn’t know was absolute madness. This had to be a conspiracy against him, the women ganging up on him. But he was having none of it. His daughter won’t go to that party, he’ll make sure of that.
“For the last time Hannah, you’re not going to that party and that’s final.” His voice bellowed in their kitchen as he raised his voice trying to make her deterred from asking again. He should have known better. Hannah stomped out of the room, making sure he was aware of her disagreement shutting the door of her room. As much as he knew he was right, he couldn’t help but feel guilty about this situation. He hated when his little girl was mad at him. He’d give his life for her and her safety, he just wished she could see that.
“You know, you should loosed the leash you keep her on or you’ll seriously strain your relationship with her.” His wife’s voice met his ear and he looked at her genuinely surprised by what he’s hearing.
“Don’t talk about our daughter as if she was a dog.” He replied gobsmacked by her insinuation.
“Then stop treating her like one.” She simply stated.
“What are talking about?”
“I’m just saying that I understand why you’re so hellbent on not making her go but you can’t shield her from any danger of this life. It’s our job as parents to let her make her own experience while offering her guidance and comfort if needed. She needs to get out and see the world. If you’re going to restrain her, she’s going to hate you for it.” She softly explains, fully understanding where he’s coming from.
“It’s just… she’s my little girl. I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. Ever.” He quietly confesses. Cooing at him, she sits and takes his hand carefully stroking it.
“And you think I do? But you know as well as I do that pain is the best teacher and she needs to find her place in this world. She’s not so little anymore, you know? I was just a little older than her when I met you.” She smirked at the memory of their first meeting.
“I’ll be damned if I let her end up with a fucker like me.” He joked making her laugh.
“There’s quite no one like you, my beautiful bear of a husband.” She sweetly indulges him, leaving a sweet kiss on his mouth.
“Now go talk to her.” She prompts him returning to the meal on the stove.
Standing up, muttering profanities at the acute pain in his back, he goes to make his way out of the kitchen towards the stair of his daughter’s room. However, he didn’t need to go that far, seeing that Hannah was standing at the end of the stairs looking at him tear eyed. Smiling at him, she charges at him trying her best to circle his neck with her arms. Scooping her up in his arms he holds her closer to him, ignoring his back pain.
“I get that you’ve heard our conversation, cheeky bugger.” Alfie chuckles in her ear not letting her go. Pulling away from his neck, she looks at him and speaks after kissing his cheek.
“As much as it pains me to say it, mum’s right. That doesn’t mean that I’ll stop being your little girl.” She cutely says and Alfie could feel his heart flutter.
“There won’t ever be a guy I’ll love more than you daddy, you should know it.” Hannah delivers the last blow and for the first time in ages, he could feel his eyes get moist. Looking up, he tries to stop the tears from falling.
“I sure hope it won’t.” He mumbles losing his fight with his tears and opted for hiding his face in her neck. She laughed knowing what he’s trying to do and held him even closer to her enjoying this rare moment of affection from her dad.

"I genuinely don't know how you can be so fuckin' stupid-"
"I'm not stupid."
"Well you're either stupid or deaf, right, and I known you since you were born so I'm pretty sure it ain't the latter that's the problem. I made it clear, you don't go near that Shelby boy again, and what do I find? You, and the Shelby, meeting alone, outside of our territory. The meeting I could deal with, but the complete fucking lack of perception of danger, is mind blowing."
"He has a name." She grouched unhappily, arms crossed over her body and gaze directed at the floor of her father's office. It was his fault really, he sent her to go and get some lunch alone, Jacob just happened to be there.
"You know what, yes he does. And so do you, and you can bet that I'm gonna fuckin use it pet; you are a Solomons! Elizabeth Solomons, born to me fifteen years ago, you know what that means? You will marry a man of Jewish blood, this Shelby thing will end now and be no more than a bit of innocent flirting, and you will never, ever again disobey me. Did you hear that alright Lizzie, or do you need me to say it again?"
She would take no more of this. She understood that she was 15, just a stupid child to most, but her father had never made her feel this way before. Misunderstood, trapped, angry. He wouldn't even let her explain, just dragged her into his office and let rip. He'd never understand what it was like to be a woman, no matter how young or old she might be, things were different for her and he would never understand that. Elizabeth stood up and stared straight at him.
"Fuck. You."
Then she stormed out of his office and ran all the way home. Alfie was like a statue, before he exploded. He ordered Ollie to follow Elizabeth home, make sure she got in safe and then trashed his office. Threw chairs, broke windows, carved into his desk with the knives in his drawer. When he could breath again, Alfie gathered his coat and got in his car, being driven home.
When he got to his front door Ollie was stood waiting for him, saying that she was inside and locked herself in her bedroom. Alfie thanked the man and went inside, deciding to give his daughter some space and start making dinner. Thankfully it didn't take long to prepare and he called her down when he was plating the food.
He got no answer so tried again.
"Lizzie, dinner, now!"
Nothing.
"Elizabeth don't make me come up there."
While that normally worked, it didn't today. Damn it. That's how he knew it was bad. Alfie left her and ate dinner quickly by himself and took her plate upstairs, knocking on her door.
"Hey, I brought you a plate."
"Leave it outside."
"I'd rather bring it in." He argued.
"Well you're not coming in."
"Come on, are you really that angry that I'm making you stay away from one boy? You'll find others."
"It's not just that, you wouldn't understand." She spoke through the door.
"Understand what?"
Alfie waited but got nothing, again.
"What so we're back to the fucking silent treatment?"
"Just go away!"
He knew not letting her have a lock on her bedroom door would be a good idea. Alfie wanted to respect her decision to be left alone, he really did. But he couldn't let her go without eating, he had to know she was taking care of herself, no matter how badly they fought.
"I thought I told you to go away." She mumbled into her pillow, facing away from her father.
"Yes, you did. But I'm not leaving you alone until you eat something. And we need to talk about earlier."
"No we don't, you said everything you needed to say."
Alfie winced at how he spoke to Elizabeth. He'd never said anything like that before, at least not in the presence of his daughter and certainly not to her. He hung his head and put the food on her desktop.
"I'm so sorry, little Lizzie. I shouldn't have said those things, I just got panicked at the thought of loosing you or you being in danger when I'm not around to help ya. You're my little girl and you're growing up and meeting boys and it freaked me the fuck out, cause I realised you're not gonna be my little one forever. And that really scares me, more than anything else."
"You never even asked me what happened, you just assumed." She sniffled.
Alfie hesitantly placed his hand on her back and tried to comfort her with little pats. "Tell me darlin', talk to me now."
"I got lunch and was on my way back to the office when this guy grabbed by arm and tried to drag me somewhere. Jacob was walking to the shops to buy some cigarettes for Tommy and he saw, beat the guy off me and took me back to the streets, where you were. He wasn't doing any harm, he was helping."
"I'm so sorry Elizabeth." He sighed, dismayed with himself.
They spent a few minutes talking with each other when Lizzie finally sat up and turned to face Alfie.
"I'm sorry too, but I'm still upset with you."
"You have every right to be, and I'll do what I can to make it up to you." Alfie promised. Elizabeth leant over and hugged him tight, he breathed a sigh of relief in her hair and held her close.
He may or may not have been planning to send an invitation to the Shelby's as a thank you to Jacob for saving his little girl, but she didn't need to know that was the reason he showed up the next day with flowers.

He Wasn’t There
Part Four
Alfie Solomons x Reader
Ollie x Reader
Tommy Shelby (Father)
You’ve grown up without a father figure, your mother died when you were young and it’s only when you get thrown out of your Aunt’s house in London that you start looking for the man by the name of Shelby
Tumblr media

previous chapter
When you got back to Birmingham you were already regretting leaving it. Going to London had been a bad idea because now you didn’t know whether to go back or not. You had seen Alfie and suddenly everything changed again because you suddenly had a reason to leave Birmingham.
But you also had many reasons to stay in Birmingham, one good one was that the family you never knew were all here, aside from Ada. But also, Alfie Solomons was bad for you but, he was also good for you, he was nice and kind. But he brought trouble when people found out you were at his bakery a lot. You got followed home and intimidated many times. He could get a little possessive which he apologised for. Explaining that he was scared of losing you.
Another problem was Tommy, your father didn’t look like he was going to let you leave anytime soon. He also definitely wouldn’t be happy if he found out you’d slept with two Jews. Ollie was harmless, but Alfie? He was another thing entirely. You were nineteen now, but the thing with Alfie had been going on since you were seventeen.
You just found him incredibly attractive and couldn’t help it. It was the manliness, that maturity that Ollie and all the other boys didn’t have. He was dangerous and you loved that. But when you were in bed together, he was different, he was gentle and soft. Unlike his harsh demeanour, he cared and you knew he did. No matter how many bad things he did. He was a lovely man to you and, he knew what to do in bed.
But now you needed Alfie. You hated it but you didn’t want anyone else. It annoyed you, but you did think about him, a lot. He was just, what you wanted. You didn’t understand it but you wanted someone like him, someone strong, Ollie was just too weak minded for you. Alfie was strong-minded and you needed that. Of course, there was also the physical side too it. You were extremely attracted to him and it annoyed you greatly.
But, you were nineteen. I mean. You were hardly ready to settle down or stay in one place. You didn’t know what Alfie felt. You knew he liked you or was it your body. You had no idea what he actually felt about you but it surprised you how little you cared what he thought. You wanted him. But you didn’t need him to like you. Maybe that’s what casual sex is.
But Tommy would never allow you to see the Jew. Even if they were in an alliance. It didn’t matter how old you were. You were a female Shelby, you were also his fucking daughter. There was no way in heaven or hell he’d let you be with Alfie. What was the point in even contemplating it? He’d never let you do anything. You would be constantly watched by the blinders, London wouldn’t be your place to escape anymore.
I mean, maybe it was good that he wouldn’t let you in London by yourself, it would hardly be safe now. When people worked out you were Tommy’s daughter, they’d either, never go near you for fear of angering Tommy. Or you’d be in more danger and they’d try and hurt you. But you didn’t know which was more likely.
Was it worth it? Was Alfie worth it? You didn’t think so. Tommy, your father. This man who didn’t know you a few months ago was trying to give you the best life and you were about to throw it back in his face. No. You couldn’t do it.
But you had to talk to someone about this at some point. The only person you reply trusted to keep this secret was Polly.
“Are you fucking joking?” Polly laughed.
“I wish I bloody was. It’d be a great fucking deal easier.” You sighed.
“But I mean, Solomon’s? Isn’t he twice your age, love?” Polly just carried on smirking and you wanted to wipe it off her face.
“Yes, Aunty,” You rolled your eyes.
“How’d that come about?” She asked.
“I was working there and I’d been with Olly, a guy who works there. But he’s, not what I want. He was weedy and didn’t have fucking anything to him. He was boring,” You paused “But Alfie was different. He was manly I suppose and he was so much more fucking interesting.”
“So you fucked?”
“Yes. A few times.” You lit a cigarette.
“You’re more like Tommy than I thought.”
“I didn’t love him. I could get a salary. I had to get by somehow. But I still think about him, well I hadn’t till I saw him when I was with Tommy.” You looked at Polly and she licked her lips.
“You can’t see him again.” She decided and you nodded.
“I know.”
“Tommy would fucking murder him and never ever let you go out of his sight again.” Polly laughed.
“I know that too. You won’t tell Tommy will you?” You asked cooly.
“No need for him to know. As long as you don’t see the Jew again.” She warned and you nodded.
The next day, Tommy called you into his office.
“So how have you been, Y/n?” Tommy asked and you nodded.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Still trying to find my place here.” You looked down and Tommy frowned.
“You’re my daughter. You can have whatever you want.” Tommy lit a cigarette.
“Yeah. But I want to be involved in your business.” As you said it you saw Tommy tense up.
“Why would you want that? The Italians have already assaulted you and you want to get involved?” He asked, totally confused.
“I know London. Better than you, better than the rest of your family. I know Alfie, better than you and the rest of your family. I want to be a part of this family and all of you have a role in this business.” You wanted to feel wanted and that would require you working with the family you wanted to belong to.
“No.” Tommy decided.
“No?” You asked.
“I’m not letting you throw your life away just because your family have already done it.” He began signing papers and didn’t look at you.
“If that’s how you feel.” You began to cry and turned around, walking straight out of his office.
Tommy couldn’t risk it. He wanted to let you in, he really did. But you were too perfect, you weren’t damaged by the shit he went through. He didn’t want his daughter, his own daughter going through that if he could help it. But seeing that hurt on your face killed him. He knew you felt rejected but he didn’t think he could rectify this at the moment.
“Tommy.” Polly came into her nephew’s office that evening. “What are you doing? Rejecting Y/n?”
“I’m not letting her get involved.” He said calmly and Polly walked up to his desk, leaning over it.
“She’s your fucking daughter. She already feels alienated from this family and your just furthering it.” Polly frowned at Tommy but he didn’t look up.
“I’m not getting her involved. End of story Pol.” He finally looked at her.
“What’re you doing Tommy?”
“Trying to protect the one normal part of my life. I can not lose her Pol. I don’t even know her yet but I know she’s mine and I have to look after her at all costs.” Tommy sighed.
“You’re just going to drive her away if you shut her out.” Polly looked at him sympathetically.
“I’d rather have her alive.”
“Our enemies will find out that she’s yours and they’ll try and hurt her,” Polly told him and he nodded “But we live through that every day and it’s not an excuse to shut her out.”
“I know but, I’m going to do all I can to stop her getting hurt.” Tommy rubbed his forehead and Polly nodded. Walking out of his office.
It was late but Y/n sat outside on the doorstep, smoking as she looked up and down Watery Lane, at the smoke treat pooled overhead and the general darkness she was so used too. She didn’t mind it and it felt like her home in London hadn’t been so different after all.
She didn’t want to cry. She didn’t want to seem weak in front of Tommy, but what else was she to do? He didn’t want her anywhere near the family business, whatever it was exactly. But you didn’t understand why Tommy was being like this. He wanted to be your father and you wanted to be his daughter but you didn’t feel at home here, even though it looked the same. People didn’t know you and they looked at you suspiciously as you sat on the Shelby doorstep, your family didn’t know you and you knew they didn’t feel comfortable around you. You were so lonely, no matter if people tried to be friendly with you. Your uncles tried, but it wasn’t like they were your niece, it felt forced.
“What you doing out here?” Polly asked and you wiped your face.
“You don’t have to talk to me just cause I’m Tommy’s daughter. I understand that I’m an outsider.” You closed your eyes and Polly sat next to you.
“Now why would you think that?” Polly put a hand on yours and you held hers.
“I’m not allowed in family meetings, I’m not allowed in the family business, it always feels so forced when anyone talks to me and I just don’t feel welcome even though it was Tommy who wanted me here. He never speaks to me, what’s the point of being in Birmingham when I’m just the same as any fucking cockney outsider coming up here to live.” You looked down and gripped Poppy’s hand tightly. “I want to know my father and his family but if I’m not welcome then I don’t want to be here, Pol.”
“I understand, Y/n. It’s difficult for both of you. Tommy’s never had a child and he doesn’t really know how to bring you up from age 19. If you had been a little younger then maybe it would have been different. But you’re at an age where you’ve matured and you’re a woman. He’s missed your whole life.” Polly smiled encouragingly.
“Well, he wasn’t there. I grew up with no parents, no true family, my aunt hated me from birth, I was disregarded constantly and never had anyone to talk too. But you expect me to show him pity? My mother contacted him for years but he never replied, my aunt even contacted him but he never replied! But you fucking expect me to be forgiving?” You stood up and began to walk down the street.
“Y/n!” Polly yelled but you carried on walking. You should never have come to Birmingham.

Against all odds (Alfie Solomons x fem!oc) part 9
Crossover Peaky Blinders - Hunger Games
Tumblr media
Masterlist. Parts One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight
Summary: During the 72th Hunger Games, Panem meets Heaven Lavey the girl apparently angelical from district 7. But the eyes of the country are also on District 9, not just because they are the last winners but because of its tributes. The youngest of this edition Desirée and Charles, 12 years old. And twins. || Rose finally meets Aberama Gold. || The rebellion finds its symbol.
Warnings: The usual. Violence and death but it's not graphic (I tried, I couldn't write it.)
Words: 3.2 k || I think you need to listen to this song because I mentioned its lyrics here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A mother is crying. A father, also devastated, is trying to comfort his wife and oldest daughter. District 9 is moaning the death of its tributes. As always but this time it hurt. This time it was cruel. The 72th games finished with a victor from district 7. A pretty girl called Heaven whose name didn't match what she did in the Arena.
The thing is that no one is blaming the girl, clearly traumatized, but the voices claim for Coriolanus Snow's head. And at the same time Coriolanus Snow wants the head of the the director of the gamemakers.
Contrary to the people, Snow receives what he wants.
Everything happened in just two weeks.
Tumblr media
15 days earlier.
Rose was in her studio when she saw the tributes from district 9. She was used to see girls like Nina. Thin, around 15-17 years old. Or boys around the same age, usually taller than their counterparts but more or less the same height, some a bit heavier. But the difference between different tributes along the years she had been working on the games were minimal. That's why she prepared the costumes with anticipation. Usually very few things needed to be fixed when they wore the clothes for the first time.
But now…
12 years old, both of them.
Desirée Goldwyn was reaped first. Rose never saw such small girl before, she seemed around 10. She was scared and had her eyes full of tears. No one volunteered to help her. Of course not. No one of the girls were staring at Desirée as she walked to the stage where Alissa was waiting for her. Rose saw the forced smile the woman had in her face
The unexpected happened next.
A boy name Alexander Thomas was reaped. But a voice prevented him to follow Desirée steps.
"I volunteer as tribute!"
For a moment Rose's heart stopped. And she was sure that Alfie and Nina had the same thought as her in that infamous second.
No.
Desirée Goldwyn had a dark brown curly hair and intense green eyes. The boy, had the same hair and eyes. Also the same height and probably weight.
Alexander Thomas saw the boy, clearly younger than him, walked very decided to the stage. Alex would never have the chance to thank him.
"A volunteer!" said Alissa "What's your name, darling?"
"Charles. Charles Goldwyn. And Desirée is my twin."
.
Twins.
The Capitol exploded. Even before their arrival, the Goldwyn twins were the sensation of the games. Pure innocence, a fraternal love so strong that the boy decided to accompany his sister to the Arena. The fact that they were pretty helped a lot. They were exactly what The Capitol wanted and they received two.
Rose hid her face in her hands, before throwing the things over her table in one fell swoop, screaming in frustration at the same time. Frustration and anger weren't enough to describe her mood. Every single kid that she dressed had a special place in her heart. And nightmares. But the image of those twins that seemed to be younger than 12, were devastated.
They didn't have a chance. Not a single one.
.
Alfie was in silence in the train. He was facing the landscapes that by now he knew by heart, listening to the kids.
"I'm going to protect you," was saying Charles. "I'm quick! I can distract them so they can't touch you!"
"You should stay with mom and dad. And Leo," she said refering to Leonela, their older sister only 14. "Who's going to feed the chickens?"
"Mommy can do it, De! And Leo, too! Leo can help dad, too! And when you come back home, they're not going to worry about anything else."
"Don't say that!" Desirée had her eyes full of tears, too "You're going to come home, too, Charlie!"
"You know there's only one victor, De."
Nina and Alfie stared at each other. What do you say to two kids, twins, who were together from the moment of their conception, that one of them is going to die? That with the odds on their favour. But as Alfie knew very well, odds were never on their favour.
"So," Nina interrupted forcing the kids to think other things "what are your talents? Caesar likes to know what makes you happy!"
"Desirée is a good singer," Charles said to her "our nana always sang us a song when we were kids and then taught her how to sing. She tried to teach me too, but she gave up."
Nina chuckled and smiled at the boy "so, sing us something, Desirée."
[When I was a little girl, my mama said to me
"What's your favorite flower, darling? I'll get you the seed"
I said "Dandelion, Dandelion," that one's so pretty
She said, "Child, that one's not a flower, that one's just a weed"]
Alfie turned his head to listen to the girl. She indeed had a pretty voice.
["You can't stop me multiplying
No, you don't want me in your garden
Dandelion, Dandelion.
Then my fragile flower turned into a ball of grey
So I took a breath
and made a wish and blew them all away."]
"That's a pretty song, Desirée," said Nina.
"Our nana always said that her grandmother sang it to her and probably for generations. I always liked it."
"Leo, our sister," said Charles "sing it every time she sees a dandelion in our little backyard."
"I'd do the same," said Nina smiling again to both kids.
Alfie watched at his former mentee and asked himself if Nina also thought that the twins had any chance against the careers. No matter how quick Charles said he was.
.
The Capitol was excited to see the new tributes face to face, as always. But this time was a morbid pleasure behind it. Were the twins really that young? Were them really that precious?
The voices inside the building were disgusting. An hour after the reaping she already saw people trying to bet on them. Their faces were in every screen. People cheered every time that the reaping was repeated.
With her blood boiling, she went to the ninth floor and picked up some of the cookies that a month ago Alfie, and also Nina, baked when they went to their monthly visit to the Capitol. The cookies were in a perfectly closed jar so they were good. She picked up only five. And using a tweezers delicately put a piece of paper inside all of them.
Those cookies had a destination. Rose put them in a box and went to the post office.
Communication between districts were highly forbidden but inside the Capitol people were allowed to send packages or letters. And for few years she kept certain address just for her. It was time to used it.
.
A little cardboard box with his name on it was what Aberama Gold received when the sun was going down. It wasn't uncommon for him to received packages. But usually those were clandestine and contained guns. This one was from the official post office and it had just five cookies.
Soon Aberama understood that they were more than cookies and that the person behind that was important. Five little papers that formed a message:
We need to talk. Send your answer, same way you received this. To the tribute centre. Rosebeth Evert.
Aberama Gold didn't trust the ones involved in the games. And Mrs. Evert's face was in every news since district 9 won the previous games. He knew who she was. And he also knew that the woman was one of the very few members of the Capitol who were allowed to be part of the auction.
So why, such lady wanted to talk to him? And way she used such cryptic way yo do it?
He considered a trap. Wasn't Mrs. Evert, Snow's personal stylist? Aberama was sure of that. If she wanted to open a shop, Aberama was sure that people from the Capitol would kill for her clothes. But Mrs. Evert had a low profile and only appeared during the games.
Still, Aberama Gold ordered to his cook to bake some cookies and he left a message for her inside them.
"Five days after the games. Under the bridge. Go alone. Promise you'll be safe. A.G"
.
Alfie, Nina, the kids and Alissa arrived the next morning. As always people, citizens and those working there, were more annoying than usual.
Rose spent big part of the day adjusting the costumes and ordering every one around her in the studio to remain calm.
"You're going to be the most beautiful tributes ever," she said to them when finally they were ready. The same hairdresser that visited district 9 with her six months ago was the one in charge of comb their hair. Although Rose forbid the makeup artist to put anything on them to make them look older. The public wanted kids, she was going to give them kids.
Exactly what they were: just children.
She only found time to talk to Alfie only at night after the parade and when finally the city was in silence. There, in his bedroom, she could confess to him that she finally communicated with Aberama Gold.
"But he didn't answer yet," she said. "If he doesn't give me an answer soon, I'm going to visit him."
"It's dangerous."
"It is but I reached my limit, Al. We're going to see these kids die. You know that. You know they don't stand a chance."
"Do you trust him?"
"I trust no one here. They'd sell you to Snow for a corn chip but I need powerful people, too I can't do this alone. We can't. Do I have other options? No. It's the best I can do, love," Rose sighed deeply "how are you, Al?"
"I'm tired, luv. I'm very tired of everything. The only thing we can do is to expect the best."
"And that means…?"
"Hope, I guess."
She snuggled up against him and closed her eyes "Hope. I like that word. I really liked that word."
.
As expected the twins had no extraordinary ability. They couldn't throw knives, they didn't know how to use a bow. Nina commented that Desirée knew how to make traps because her father taught her. That's how they trapped rabbits and another little animals. Charles was right that he was quick, so Alfie spent some hours teaching him how to use a blade. Maybe he'd hurt some other tribute as he was running away. But they couldn't do more than that. Not with the careers showing themselves like peacocks around the arena.
And three days weren't enough to teach them how to kill.
The Arena was a foggy forest. The Cornucopia was made of wood covered with moss. Alfie always said the same to his kids "run away from there" some listened to him and others, like Nina, did not. But fortunately for the twins they did listen to him.
The bloodbath was always terrible and deadly. But this time…
That blonde girl from 7, Heaven Lavey, was the first one to be noticed as a menace despite her score wasn't that high. Alfie remembered that years ago, Lucy spoke about a tribute really unhinged and it seemed to be that the prophecy was true. It was cruel to say the least.
The careeers survived, same as the twins and tributes from other districts but compared to other games, the number of survivors was low.
All Panem witnessed the dawn of the third day. Heaven Lavey killed two careers in the same moment and by now the number of victims rise to eight. And she was about to add two more.
The twins were hiding in the bushes. They survived eating berries that weren't toxic but it wasn't enough. Charles was hugging Desirée who was incredible dehydrated. He too, but his sister was in worse condition.
"Sing to me, De," Charles said. "The song about dandelions."
"I can't. I think I'm going to die, Charlie."
"You're not, De. After the song I promise to search for water. Just sing to me, De."
And the girl did. And whole Panem listened to the song.
Charles knew better than people could think. No one knew Desirée the same way the boy knew her. And although young, he was old enough to know about death.
"I found a real dandelion," Charles said picking up the puffy flower "Make a wish, De."
"I want the games over," she said and blew it away.
Not long after that the deadly Heaven found them. They were still hugging each other when they died. Together they came to the world, together they left.
Some people said that in district 9, a woman cried so loud that some near mockingjays mimicked her screams and soon the whole district was hearing the lament of mother who witnessed her children being murdered.
Tumblr media
Five days after the games.
The night is warm and calm. After the games it seemed that people disappeared. And that year in particular was a very agitated event.
[You can't stop me multiplying.]
The song is in her head sounding like an infinite record player.
Rose left her car parked far away from the bridge that Aberama Gold mentioned and walked all the remaining blocks to that place.
Now, under the yellow streetlight she sees everything around her. She feels eyes on her although she can see no one. Probably they're spying on her to see if she's alone.
Fifteen minutes later, Rose sees a man wearing a hat walking towards her. He's wearing a brown coat despite the hot night. Rose doesn't know Mr. Gold but she knows it's him. She asks herself if the man has a gun hiding there. She knows that's very possible.
"Mrs. Evert," says Aberama approaching her, shaking her hand.
"I thought you weren't coming."
"I was here before your arrival, Mrs. Evert. I was just waiting, I'm sorry but I needed to know you were alone."
"I'm risking my own life coming here, Mr. Gold. Not because of you but him. So, I'm not that stupid to ruin my only chance to get help. We need to talk alone, please."
"What do you have to offer?"
"Not here. I'm not going to talk unless I'm sure we're on the same side, Mr. Gold."
"I'd say the same. I do not offer my help to anyone."
"A person you trust gave me the address to locate you, thanks that they trust the same person as I do. No one against this hell here can survive alone, Mr. Gold. We're part of the same chain. It just happens that not all the links know each other."
Aberama snorts and with his head orders her to follow him. That poor side of the Capitol reminds her of district 8. Grey buildings, dirty streets… Last year, during Nina's tour, when they stopped in that district, that was the first time in over a decade that she visited her birthplace. And it wasn't easy. Her mother and brothers were near as ever since then but she couldn't visit them. It hurt her to know that for example last time she saw her baby brother Louis was 8 years old and now he was a 24 years old man. She couldn't recognise him and probably for him, his own sister was a complete stranger. She didn't regret her choice to leave her house to help them, but she paid a high price when she did it.
Aberama invites her to enter into an old house. Its walls are covered by vines and it seems to be an abandoned place but as soon as he opens the door, she sees that it's in perfect conditions. There's a young man there, too.
"That's my son, Bonnie," he says. "Bonnie, she's Mrs. Evert."
After offering something to drink and a chair, Aberama sits down in front of her. After looking at him for one last time time, she finally shows to someone else what she has. Rose is still restless. What if…
And yet, she knows that she can't do this alone. The folders and papers she collected over the years are now in other hands.
"You did this alone?" he asks.
"But I can't do more."
"Ma'am, I don't know how to say this but this is a lot."
"Not enough," she insists. "If we want to start phase two, we need more than that. I need people, smart people. The kind of people you can find in district 3, those who know how to do this."
"When do you want to finish this?"
"Three years. Two and a half. We're going to sabotage the Quarter Quell, Mr. Gold."
"Then you need to know something that probably you don't know, but I do," Aberama opens a drawer and pulls out a cardboard folder that gives to her. Blueprints and a map are there "if we want to fuck Snow, I'm not enough, you're not enough. My people isn't enough… do you want this? Play bigger, Mrs. Evert. Go to district 13."
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
And it's that night, that moment in the Gold's household that she learns that District 13 is still alive. Rose learns about the pact between the capitol and the rebel district. The nuclear weapons… and Chester Campbell.
"They have a president?"
"Same way we have ours. No one chose him, but he's there. I don't know him personally, but I heard things about Campbell."
"And what do you think?"
"I think, if I were you I'd approach him the same way a mouse approaches a cat. In his own favour, Snow is charismatic he'll let you talk. Campbell is… well, more complicated. At least he's not Snow."
"Are there any other options?"
"No."
"I don't want his hands on this, Mr. Gold. I don't give a fuck if he's the president of Lostland. I'm trusting you with this, the afterwards is up to District 13 if you want but this? Just us and your people."
Aberama scratches his chin and offers his hand to her "I give you my word that this is just our mission, Mrs. Evert. This part, but we're going to need their help."
"It's fine. We have a deal. We sabotage the games and they take care of the rest. Burn everything once is over, Mr. Gold the good thing about papers is that can be consumed by fire."
"I'm a professional," smiles the man.
"In six months, I'm going to contact you again. I'm sure you know that I'm part of the auction. But I'm not part of them. I'm not them. I'm not my husband."
"I can see that. I see you in six months, Mrs. Evert."
"Use the cookies," she says before leaving his house.
"I will. Goodnight."
A single dandelion is in middle of the street growing up in the pavement. She takes it and blows it all away. The seeds fly with the wind.
[You can't stop me multiplying.]
Fascinating that rebellion found their symbol in something so simple and mundane as a dandelion. But it was also a powerful thing. Growing up were it shouldn't.
[You don't want me in your garden.]
Snow was walking through his garden full of white roses, thinking about the girl named Heaven and the twins.
The twins and their song.
[You don't want me in your garden.]
There in middle of his roses dozens of dandelions were growing up. Imperceptible under the beautiful flowers. But they were there.
And in every district.
“Make a wish, De.”
“I want the games over.”
Hundreds. Millions of dandelions around Panem. Stronger than ever, even if in the eyes of the Capitol, people from the districts were just weed.
[You can't stop me multiplying.]
And it was just the beginning.

Together As One
Alfie Solomons X OC(Amara Solomon’s)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Hey everybody I hope you all are having a good day so far. I came up with this idea for Alfie Solomon’s about him getting married. The inspiration came out when I went to attend my aunt's wedding a night ago and I wanted to bring this idea to life. And it made me think about it almost the whole entire night after I left and I said “you know what if Alfie gets married and it was a very magical moment for both Alfie and Amara?” And here it is guys I hope you guys enjoy this little short story that I create. And this is the first time I’ll be writing something the same and yet was really having lots of fun writing it out. But as always guys thank you for reading and sticking and as always please Enjoy!!!
Summary: It was a day and moment in both Alfie and Amara’s life that they have been waiting for almost 9 months now. While Amara is undoubtedly nervous and scared about what the future holds for her with her new husband, knowing that they will be united together as one for the rest of their lives hoping to bring nothing but happiness and a new life for both newlyweds.

🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
It was a very warm and bright sunny afternoon on the day of Alfie’s and Sonya’s wedding. For which they were both very nervous ever since the night after he and Amara came back from going out to dinner to celebrate their final night as boyfriend and girlfriend. Only for Alfie to wonder and think after he left her at her parent's house. That after he proclaims Sonya as his, he will in no doubt forever for the rest of his life promise to cherish her every day, keep her safe, spoil her with so much goods, and most of all want to start a family of his own with her. Hoping that no matter how many children he will be blessed with, he’ll try his best to be the best father figure that he’ll ever be for his future children. While hoping to be the best husband for his Sonya, no matter how many good or bad days they’ll have they will always find a way to work things out together. He only wishes to see the most in his marriage life is them both showing each other their love and appreciation that knowing they were meant to be together for a reason. And Alfie himself couldn’t ask for someone as special and precious as Sonya.
As Sonya’s older sister, Lena, helped her adjusting her long sleeve wedding dress for the last time trying to hold back the tears that were building in her eyes. While her mother, Helena, gently putting the white veil with some flower patterns on the edges above her daughter's head. Her dark black hair was styled in an updo bun with two white roses attached in the middle, with little baby’s breaths surrounding them. Once both women finished with the final touches, they took a step back to admire the gorgeous bride before they make their way to the ceremony.
“Oh Sonya, once Alfie sees how beautiful you look his mind will be blown away I assure you,” Lena said while she squealed in excitement.
“Thank you sister, I just wish I wasn’t feeling so nervous and scared. Just makes me think after the wedding if I won’t be an acceptable wife and mother for him? What if I fail to raise our children, and what if he will ever get bored of me and leave me?” Amara said while she had a worried expression her eyes now looking down on the floor.
But her mother, Amelia, gently cupped her daughter's chin with her right hand, making her look up from the floor.
“My daughter, I was once you when I married your father, not knowing if we were meant to be together and if I will never be enough for him. And I was very wrong after he told me that he will never replace me for anybody else, for I was his to protect, cherish, respect, and love until the ends of this world. Don't let these delusional thoughts get to you my love, for I want you to only think the positive things and I guarantee you, Sonya, that you will be a wonderful wife and one day mother for Alfie. I know he is thinking right now how lucky he is to have you as his,” Amelia said which made Sonya get some sense of realization that her mother was right, she should not think so negatively, especially today.
“Yes sister, think only about the positive things that you and Alfie will bring for each other, I know he as well is thinking about how blessed and unexpectedly lucky he is to have you in his life,” Lena said to which she smiled at her little sister.
“Thank you really both of you, this makes me now feel better and be more confident for what the future will hold for us, thank you mother and you as well sister, I love you both very much,” Sonya said while she hugged both her mother and sister.
As the three women made their way outside of the front door of their house, where her two aunts, Ava and Lillian, gasped in unison when they saw her niece in her beautiful wedding dress. While her uncle Carmiel, just smiled as Sonya was walking down the cemented stairs.
“Oh, Sonya you look so wonderful, darling.”
“Alfie is such a lucky man, yes he is,” Ava said while she then gave a gentle hug to Sonya.
As the chauffeur driver opened the door of the black Bramwith car for Sonya, everyone made their way inside the vehicle and after everyone got in they now made their way to the synagogue in Camden Town. Sonya and her family lived somewhere in Hilldrop Estate, almost a mile away from where Camden Town was and where Alfie goes to work at his rum distillery every day. She will always remember the first time Alfie asked her out on the night he came to pick her up with a bouquet of roses in his hands. They first met when she one day was wandering around Camden Town when her eyes caught sight of a jewelry store. As she entered the store she was mesmerized by the sight of many pieces of jewelry from gold, diamonds, silver, anything that a woman can’t imagine. But as she caught sight of a particular emerald green filigree flapper necklace that's when she met the Jewish gangster of Camden Town himself.
“Good afternoon miss, how may I help you today on this fine lovely day?” his deep gruff voice said while Sonya at that moment heart skipped a beat.
And from that moment on, she knew that her world would turn upside down, not knowing at that precise moment, that they would one day get married only to know that today is finally coming true.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
As Alfie nervously paced back and forth in one of the prayer rooms inside the synagogue, he couldn’t believe that today was already the day that Sonya and he will be husband and wife. His hands began to sweat while he continued from one to the other. He also had a hard time telling himself if he also would be a good husband for Sonya, hoping that she will never get tired of him. He also felt afraid that if he one-day screamed or even lays a single hand on Sonya for any idiotic reason, he will never forgive himself if she leaves him. Those are one of the things that he is most afraid of himself if they ever get into an argument or have a bad day at work.
As the door of the room that he was in for the past hour was opened, Sonya’s father, Joseph came inside letting Alfie know that Sonya has just arrived. Alfie then got a bit more nervous knowing that he was minutes now away to see his bride.
“Alfie, Sonya is here now, she is still receiving blessings from everyone that we know and came, you must come with me. The elders are waiting for you in the other room for you to sign and seal the ketubah but we must go right now,” Joseph said and Alfie nodded his head in reply while he tried to steady his beating heart which he failed to do so.
Joseph knew that body language just like he did on the day of his wedding day. As he closed the door behind him and then he walked across the room and sat down in one of the wooden armchairs that were next to a small fireplace. He gestured for Alfie to sit down on the other armchair next to him and Alfie then took a seat.
“I’m sorry Joseph if I seem a bit unsettled yea, I know that today that your daughter will be me soon to be woman, and I just.., I’m just scared if I won’t be the greatest husband and maybe a future father that she expects me to b-.”
“Alfie Solomon’s, do you not hear yourself in what you are telling me? You were just like me, scared, nervous, and overwrought when I also made Amelia my wife. I was also telling myself if I was going to be the best husband and father for her. But no matter how many cynical thoughts were going through my head at that time, I was told wrong when she gave birth to my two beautiful daughters. I knew after Amelia welcomed my girls into this world, I had to protect and cherish my three women for they are my world. And I told my wife that I will never replace her for anybody else and she as well told me felt so lucky to have me in her life. So Alfie, as my daughter will be placed upon your hands, always remember this, don't ever let those outrageous thoughts get to you. For one day you will look back at this moment and laugh at how wrong you were after this time,” Joseph said as he placed a hand on his left shoulder.
Alfie then had a bit of a flashback when he and Sonya took a walk on the beach next to his Margate house. He remembered that day that she told Alfie while walking on the beach, felt lucky to have met him. Even if she knew about Alfie's true identity, about his underground life as the gangster of Camden Town. It worried Alfie for Sonya knew who he really was, not wanting to see her get hurt or even worse get her involved with his meeting his “friends” that he knows. But Sonya didn’t care much about who he was from the outside, what she cared about the most about Alfie is his sense of humor, intelligence, his fearlessness but most of all he has such a big heart. And once Sonya gave a big kiss on his right cheek on that day, he knew that his strong brick wall finally broke down after that.
“I will promise you right ‘ere and right’ now Joseph, and I swear upon God and cross me heart yea, that I will protect, keep ‘er safe, worship he’, love he’, and be the best ‘usband and future father that she will ever ‘ave and I am grateful that she will be mine to preserve for the rest of me life sir,” Alfie said as Joseph smiled back at the big man.
After Joseph’s small talk of encouragement made Alfie calmer and at peace, they then made their way to join the elders. For him to sign his contract to promise to take care of Sonya, love her, support her, protect her, everything that a man has to do to keep his wife happy and safe. And once Alfie finally finishes signing the ketubah, both the mother and father of Sonya in tradition break a glass plate to mark its closing. Everyone in the room cheered and clapped while Alfie had a big smile on his face as it was time to go and see his future bride.
As the elders sang a traditional song in their old language while escorting Alfie to him to see Sonya. Alfie felt again nervous but extremely joyful to now see Sonya, and as they entered the great hall of the synagogue, Alfie’s breath was taken away. In the middle of the grand architecture of the hall, where Sonya now was smiling at Alfie, he couldn’t believe his own eyes how beautiful and magnificent she looked in her white wedding dress. As Alfie still walked his way to Sonya, while the elders still sang their traditional song, it was time for the ceremony of bedeken.
As Alfie stood in front of Sonya only for her smile to grow bigger now that they were both close to each other. Alfie then covered her in her white veil as a sign of respect towards her, while he was offering Sonya both a blessing and his heart. As everyone started to cheer and clapped, it was now time for the main ceremony of the wedding to begin.
As they both stood next to each other under the traditional chuppa that symbolizes the home they will grow in together. They then looked at each other and for a moment Alfie thought that all of this was nothing but a dream. But as the ceremony continued, Sonya and her mother then circled around Alfie 7 times as a symbol to break down any barriers between the two newlyweds. Sonya couldn’t help but also feel anything but joy and warmness in her heart. Then after, one of the priest elders then prayed for both of them in their Jewish language. Then afterward, they then shared a cup of wine and both then slipped their rings that represented their united bonds as one. As the ceremony was coming to a closing end, Alfie then broke a glass cup covered in a white cloth breaking into pieces with his right foot symbolizing marriage.
Everyone clapped and cheered loudly for the two new love birds, while Alfie and Sonya now holding hands could now start a new life forever.
As they made their way to the yichud, as a traditional way for them to have some alone time for the first time. Once they made their way inside their room the door then closed behind them, and once the door was closed Alfie without a second kissed Sonya hard on the lips. Making them both moan in between their lips. As they kissed for a good moment or two, Sonya then looked back at Alfie in the eyes, as both of their foreheads touched each other.
“I love you so much Alfie Solomon’s, forever and ever until the ends of this world,” Sonya said while she placed a hand against his left cheek, feeling his trimmed beard against her skin.
Alfie placed two fingers on Sonya's chin, making her smile once again looking deep into those blue eyes of the Jewish king.
"I as well love you more my lovely and sweet queen, my Sonya Solomon's," Alfie said while he lift her up from the floor as they both twirled in a circle making Sonya squeal and giggle at the same time.
Once the wedding ceremony was over, Alfie and Sonya then made it back to Margate house. As both now Mr. and Mrs. Solomon's hold hands while Sonya's head rested gently against Alfie's left shoulder. They both now were thinking about the many possibilities of what their lives will be like. Now that they were finally together as one and knowing what the future holds for them it will be something they will never get tired of.

Whoever said that women that didn't have a job and only took care of the household and their family needs had it easy clearly wasn't a woman. God knows how many things one had to and what little time to do them. Well, Anna knew, being a parent of a fifteen years old girl going through adolescence didn't make tending to her and her father any easy.
Deciding not to pursue her dream job was something Anna had come to terms with a long time ago, after the birth of her beloved Samantha precisely. She knew that no one could tend to her little girl in the way she could. Alfie had always been supportive of her ever decision but afraid of the repercussions that her choice could have had not only on herself but also on their family, he tried to persuade her to consider the idea of hiring a nanny. Or to even allow their family to help whenever both of them were busy with work. At first, he had succeeded, Anna had gone back to work after the maternity leave ended and for a while, it worked. However, the peace was short-lived seeing as her late shifts prevented her to spend time with her newborn since whenever she came home it was so late that her baby was already sleeping.
So she took the conscious decision to leave her job to start caring for her little Samantha 24/7. It wasn't something that she came to regret, she was happy that she had the privilege to see her daughter grow into the smart, brilliant young woman that she is. She just wished that people like her got the recognition they deserved. Being a full-time mother was bloody hard and sometimes it even felt like she was a single mum, with how Alfie was busy with his business and was rarely home. Anna knew that Samantha was suffering for her father absence. When she was little she used to run to the door screaming in joy whenever Alfie got home. As time went by and Alfie became more and more busy, they would see him less and less and every night it would end up with little Sam looking at the door desperate to catch her father's silhouette. Pointless were your attempts to speak with Alfie to try and get him to focus more on his family. Anna could see the regret in her husband's eyes whenever he was reminded how much his absence was affecting his little girl. He tried his best to be more present and indeed he was. During the weekend he would have his phone turned off, solely focused on having as much quality time as he could with his little princess. Turns out it wasn't enough. He would still come home late during the weekdays and there was nothing they could do about it. Anna knew that if they were able to have a comfortable life it was for his hard work, and she also could see how Alfie was suffering as well because of this situation. Whenever he would come home late at night, the first thing he asked her about was how Samantha was doing.
Now Sam was fifteen and had stopped hoping that her father would be home for dinner in a while. She had started to express her distress in other ways: she would not greet him when she saw him and she would spend all of her time with her friends even on weekends when Alfie was home. Some days she would come back home from school smelling of smoke; when confronted she swore that it was because of her friends that smoked beside her but that she had never even tried. Anna had always trusted her little one's ability to discern good from bad but now, being in this rebellious state she was in, she was afraid that she would do something reckless just for the fun of it; or rather to catch her father's attention.
As a result of Samantha's inner conflict, Anna was perpetually worried about her little girl. She was at her wit's end about how to help her. This day wasn't different from the others in this regard and while she was shopping to prepare today's meals, two of Samantha's favourites to try and cheer her up, what she was really thinking was that maybe she could try and see if Alfie could come home earlier. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice Samantha's teacher, Ms Alice, standing next to her.
"Mrs Solomons?" the voice brought her back to earth.
"Oh, Ms Alice, good morning! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. How do you do?" Anna politely tried to make small talk.
"I'm well, thanks for asking. I hope Samantha is too, she's been absent for a week now and her classmates told me that she had a very bad case of flu. How is she doing?" Ms Alice seemed really concerned about her daughter's well being and for a second she was grateful that they had been lucky enough to have her as a teacher. That was until her words finally set in and she could control her face as it contorts in an expression of confusion but also of disappointment when she came to the conclusion that Samantha had been skipping school to do god knows what.
"Oh you know, this kind of virus is really annoying. It affected her stomach too other than giving her flu-like symptoms. As a matter of fact, I left her alone because we ran out of food after a week of closure, so I should really go. I've left her alone longer than I should've." Anna promptly found an excuse to leave. The vegetables quickly forgotten, she hurried out of the supermarket while looking frenetically for her phone in her purse.
"I know that you're not in school. Come home, right now."
The message was brief and Anna spent the whole ride home trying to find the best way to deal with the situation. This was the most difficult part about being a parent, in Anna's opinion. When your child was misbehaving it was easier to just let the anger took control and put them in a time out or in some form of punishment. Of course, punishments were necessary to make them understand what they did was wrong but Anna also believed that a parent should understand first why their child acted the way they did so to better make them see why what they did was wrong, it should also help them avoid making the same mistake in the future too. Luckily for her, Samantha had always been a quiet good girl, never put herself in much trouble. When she inevitably did though, her approach had always worked.
However, now the situation was more complex and delicate at the same time. She knew that Samantha was acting out so she had to find a way to make her see how this was an unhealthy way to deal with a problem but she also was aware that the reason why she was acting this way was out of her reach and couldn't be easily fixed. Anna also decided that it was time for Alfie and their daughter to have a long chat and finally address the elephant in the room. For now, she would deal with this by herself though, she'll wait for Alfie to come home.
"Please try to be home early today, we need to talk about something." She knew that Alfie was busy with work and while she'd always respected that, there were times when family demanded his presence. She hoped that since she had never complained nor asked him such a thing before, he would understand the importance of him coming home in time for dinner.
Apparently, it took her more time than she had thought to go back home or maybe Samantha had understood that she was in deep waters and had hurried home, point was that when Anna crossed the threshold of the house the young girl was already sitting at the kitchen table.
The woman took off her coat and came to stand in front of her daughter without haste. Crossing her arms on her chest, prompted the girl with a tilt of her head to explain herself.
"Honestly mum, it's not as bad as it seems. School can be so boring, and me and the girls just needed a little time off." Samantha lamely explained making her mother's eyebrow jump up in disbelief.
"Time off to do what?" her mother inquired further.
"Nothing much, just hanging around, having fun."
"Do you understand the gravity of what you did, Samantha?" Anna solemnly asked.
"We did nothing bad, besides I didn't think you would notice." Came the girl's smug reply.
"It's not a habit of mine to check your attendance record because I thought that you knew that you have to go to school. I trusted you not to lie to me and come to me whenever something is wrong." Anna showed every bit of the disappointment she was feeling, not to mention the pain that her little girl lying to her made her feel.
"You know what's wrong and talking about it doesn't make it better, so what's the point?" Samantha muttered quietly and Anna's heart clenched at the hurt on her daughter's face. Sighing she sat beside her, her whole demeanour changed knowing how touchy this subject was for her daughter.
"Oh and needless to say you're grounded. Let's start with a week then we'll see." A punishment was in order but both father and daughter knew that he was smitten with her and that the time period wouldn't get longer. Making a sound of discontent, Sam briefly kissed her father's cheek before leaving the room to apologize to her mother.
"I know that you miss your father, so do I but you can't pull a stunt like that for this reason. Call him during lunch break, make an effort to be home during the weekends. Don't think for a second that he doesn't love you or miss you as well. He's trying his best to be more present but there's only so much he can do when he needs to work to support the family." Anna softly said hoping to get her to understand. Despite her efforts, the reaction she got is not the one she was hoping for. Scoffing, Samantha jumps from her seat, "I'm sick and tired to hear the same story every time. Your father loves you - Well let me tell you, mum, it's all bullshit. If he loved me, he would be here telling me himself, he wouldn't have missed my piano concerts or dinner and lunch every single bloody day!" Every little thing she had been keeping bottled up until now was finally coming out in hot scorching waves.
"How do you know that he's at work? Isn't it suspicious that he always has to work? What if he has a second family that we know nothing about while we're here waiting on him like two morons?" Anna couldn't help but flinch at the insinuation.
"This is ridiculous Samantha. Your father loves us both. His love is the only thing keeping him here with us so even if what you're saying it's true, there would be no reason for him to lead a double life. I'm sorry that you feel this way, but you should know that even if you don't know if he's always thinking and worrying about you. Do you want to know how I know? Because as soon as he comes through the door, you're the first thing he asks me about." The situation was getting tenser and tenser and despite her best intentions Anna couldn't help but raise her voice a little. God knows how many times, lying alone in her bed, these thoughts had uncomfortably occupied her mind. How could she know if her husband really was where he told her he'd be? She could only trust him and hope for him to always do right by her and their family as he'd promised her on their special day years ago.
"What is going on here?" Before Samantha could reply a voice came from the door catching both girls' attention. Speaking of the devil, Alfie had gotten home early as his wife had asked him. While Anna hadn't expected him to come this early, his presence was welcomed and reassuring.
"Oh, how conveniently you show up now. How come you're not at work and you're gracing us with your presence instead?" Samantha ruthlessly spat at her clueless father.
"Samantha, don't speak to your father like that." Anna reprimanded her.
"You know mum you should really stop fighting his battles for him. Whatever, I'm going to my room." The girl harshly dismissed her mother leaving her to feel powerless and drained while Alfie was still trying to wrap his head around what was happening.
Anna limply let herself fall on the chair she was previously sitting on, her head in her hands while Alfie took a seat next to her, gently caressing her back trying to comfort her.
"What's the matter love, what has she done?" he softly inquired, a part of him actually relieved it was for their daughter rebellious phase rather than the woman wanting to end things. Only God knew how much he loved and cherished the woman beside him, without her his life would fell into pieces and he was very well aware of that and even more grateful that God had graced him by putting her in his life.
"I'm at my wit's end with her Alfie. I don't know what to do anymore. Today while I was grocery shopping, I met Ms Alice who asked me about Samantha's health because apparently she has been sick this past week." Anna started to explain what happened to her husband.
"She's been skipping school? Why?" The fact caught him by surprise.
"She said that it was because she needed time off from the apparently so boring school but Alfie that's not the point. She lied to me and I think she did it to try and catch your attention, " she let him on her thoughts and knowing that she was probably right he guiltily sighed, "She's acting out because she misses you and thinks that you don't love her. She actually told me that the reason you were not home was that you had another family and that I was blind not to see that you didn't love us anymore." A dry chuckle left her mouth. She was doing more than just reporting her daughters' words, even though she forced herself to think they weren't true and Alfie saw right through her as he always did.
"Annie, I know that I haven't been the best husband or father lately and I know that I sound like a damn broken record, I know right? But you and Samantha are my whole world. When I received your text today, my heart fucking stopped. I thought you were finally fed up with my old ass and wanted a divorce. Since I've met you right? I've felt things that I never felt before, you took away my heart from its numbness and I'm forever grateful that somehow your precious sweet little self loves a fucking mess like me. I'm an absolute fucker too because I hurt the only priceless people in my life and I can never say sorry enough. But no more. Mark my words, I'll make this right. Starting today. I fucking love you and it's time my daughter knows it too. I'm going to talk to her." Alfie heartfelt little speech had left Anna in tears. Her husband was never one of many words but when he did speak them, well no one could compare. Giving her a firm sweet kiss he took his leave heading towards Samantha's room, giving Anna some time to compose herself.
Knocking lightly on her closed door, Alfie didn't wait for her permission to enter, he knew she was pissed at him and couldn't blame her. If he was in her position he would hate his guts too. Samantha was on her bed, her head bopping her head to the music coming from the headphones in her ears. Her eyes set on her father's face when she saw the door open but she didn't acknowledge him returning to her music. Alfie knew it was her way to say "piss off" but he was just as stubborn as she was, she had to take it up from someone after all. Not easily deterred, the man sat alongside his daughter, softly taking one of the headphones from her.
"This song is a bop, right? But I think it's time we have a little chat, what do you think?" he took the lead.
"I have nothing to say to you." - was the expected harsh reply.
"Well, I have. I don't blame you for hating me, I've been terrible to you and your mother, I know and I don't know how to convey how sorry I am with words, I'm not smart like that. There something you should know about me tho'. I love you and I love your mother and I love our family even if maybe I don't show it as much as I should. Everything I do is for you. And a second family? Really? I can barely look after you how could I be doing it with another one?"
"I don't hate you." she quietly confessed.
"Well, you should."
"Listen dad, I'm sorry for what I said. I see how you look at mum the rare times you're here. I just wish you'd be around more," - and here was his sweet little girl.
"I know sweetie, I would love to spend more time with you and I promise that I'm going to try harder alright? But please stop punishing your mother for something I did, she's already a bloody saint wouldn't try her tho'. God knows how long she'll put up with us." Joking to loosen the tension in the room, Alfie wrapped his arm around Sam's shoulders closing her in a much needed bear-like hug.
"You mean with you." she joked and despite being at his expense, Alfie was happy to engage in their usual witty banter.
"I promise I'll be good dad. I'm sorry, I didn't want you to worry you."Sam apologized in a sweet voice but Alfie knew her like the back of her hand and was very aware that she was trying to buy him.
"That's good to know kid. You should say sorry to your mother though." If he had, to be honest, he wasn't that angry with her. He was obviously the one at fault and never been a well-behaved student in his youth so he really wasn't one to talk. With this said, he also was aware that the rebellious behaviour of his daughter caused by him really took a toll on his dear wife. Besides, lying wasn't really something Alfie could stand.
