King Solomon Hill ("Blind Lemon's Buddy"), a mysterious enigma of the early Country Blues whose true identity is still unknown. It was speculated by Gayle Dean Wardlow (since 1969) that he was Joe Holmes, b. 1897 in McComb, MS, d 1930 or 1939 in SIbley, LA. Researcher Alex van der Tuuk has since challenged this identification. He cut eight sides for Paramount, some of the most haunting Blues ever recorded. Along w/ Rube Lacy and Blind Joe Reynolds, a father of Heavy Metal and Progressive Rock.
