V.A.-"Ancient Astronauts- The ancient music of Greece: a reappReciation" is out on 1TRACKTAPE (Greece)!!!
In 2015 the German netlabel suRRism-Phonoethics released the compilation "The Music of Ancient gReece: an appReciation". Eight years later, as a part of "that sounds greek to me" series, 1tracktape reappReciates the same tracks in the same order, with the same copyright license. All tracks reworked by 1tracktape team including (The) Unknown Artist, DEE (aka Downer Edited Ending), melophobia (μελωφοβία) and more unknown artists!. 80min to burn a compact disk for the audio system in your car! Plus 3 more reworks as download - bonus tracks. “”The music of ancient Greece was almost universally present in society, from marriages and funerals to religious ceremonies, theatre, folk music and the ballad-like reciting of epic poetry. It thus played an integral role in the lives of ancient Greeks. There are significant fragments of actual Greek musical notation as well as many literary references to ancient Greek music, such that some things can be known—or reasonably surmised—about what the music sounded like, the general role of music in society, the economics of music, the importance of a professional caste of musicians, etc" (Wikipedia, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_ancient_Greece). The tracks on this compilation are either covers of the remaining fragments of Ancient Greek music, or a reflection of the participating artists on the cultural legacy of Ancient Greece and an attempt to find the music of Ancient Greece in their own compositional approaches." First compilation of "appReciation", curated by Igor Jovanovic (2015). Second compilation of "reappReciation", curated / produced by Dimitris Tsironis (2021).

This World may be surreal but it is having it’s moments.
Just back from Vienna having played with Alen Ilijic and Wei-Ya Lin.
We can all moan about how our lives have worked out, but for all the trials and tribulations of mine I have been fortunate to have been at the right place and time to meet all the great people I work with. I don’t just work with them they are friends. As a consequence I have had many defining moments. This was another one of those moments when all of the nonsense of the world disappears and you find yourself in a timeless state where all seems possible. It felt especially so at this time when the world outside resembles the many poor dystopian movies there are out there.
There was a poignancy to this performance. Many times we had been thwarted over the last 2 years to get together and play and there were moments when it looked as though this time may not happen also. But suddenly we found ourselves together in a room, in the case of Alen and I the room we had met for the first time in 2019. We had made the decision to work together and then we all know what happened next. Taking to the floor, though Wei-Ya and I have played many times together, it was the first time either of us had struck notes with Alen. From the moment of taking my seat to the final note, there was not one ounce of fear the instant mutual trust made one feel hugely courageous. As the piece came to an end there was that strange moment of waking up and realising that there were actually other people in the room.
A truly remarkable time. Very big thank you to the whole aNother festival team and to Helga for putting us up (and the German lessons). It was so sad to leave, having made new friendships and strengthened old ones. There will be more from this trio this year and there may be a guest or two along the way. Vienna I will be back soon!!

Ne propustite na HRT1- film Majstori
ScreenShot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOgOoC4H_Is
U režiji Dalibira Matanića, redateljja filmova “Fine mrtve djevojke” i Kino Lika”, “Majstori” su urnebesna komedija u kojoj glavne uloge igraju jedna kućanica, njen suprug, nespretni majstor i osebujni ribar.

V.A.-"DODIRIMI" released with MURMURE INTEMPOREL (France)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The theme of this compilation is implied in it's title : the basic musical motif or the dominant moment of the tracks contain the 4 tones C, C#, D# and E.
In 1973 Bernstein held the first in a series of lectures entitled Unanswered Question on music phonology, exploring the idea of the universal root/monogenesis of music. The first example he gave was the CC#D#E group of notes occurring throughout many classical, modern and folk pieces. Although the lecture doesn't give an explanation of the supposedly universal nature of this occurrence, it does make us wonder whether playing around that group of notes would wake us to some universal feature of music. So the aim was to find out and play with something that is unprovenly universal and probably deeply rooted in the very existence of music.
