It's my 30th birthday. I never thought I'd reach 20 let alone 30! It's both exciting and utterly terrifying. I should have my life together like the majority of my friends but life doesn't work that way, maybe I'll get it together soon. Hopefully!
We've had 4 admissions in 4 days so it's been a little overwhelming going from a near empty ward to am almost full one. One screams at the top of her lungs whenever she has to have a feed. It's pretty horrendous for everyone involved.
I can't wait for my upcoming pass in 2 days time. I think I'll try and cram in as much as I possibly can including horse riding as I know it will be my last taste of freedom for at least a month. On Saturday, my friends and I are going out for dinner, then to Alcotraz in London, followed by a massive ball pit and cocktails. Sunday it's a family lunch thing (I'll be horrendously hungover! Monday I'm thinking of going horse riding in the morning and then talking to the dietetic assistant to discuss my meal plan and then Tuesday I'm heading back into London for a meeting/ lunch thing. Busy time ahead!
I'm nervous as I have to keep my weight above the minimum which should be ok but I can't help but feel a little apprehensive! I think I'll be ok once I'm on the plane.

ultimate "is England ok" energy is that we have a few US prison themed bars called Alcotraz where you put on an orange jumpsuit and you get to play pretend sneaking in your contraband alcohol to drink in cells
#I know alcatraz is also a tourist attraction now but considering incarceration being so high in the US its a little yikes#orange jumpsuits also aren't a thing in UK prisons so it's more associated with fiction

Drinks behind bars at Alcotraz London
Drinks behind bars at Alcotraz London
Guard: “Lady, what are you trying to do? GET INTO THAT JUMPSUIT!” Me [wearing an awfully impractical tight pink dress]: “Sorry sir, just trying not show too much here!” My friend Mariola, who knows my pole dancer Insta feed all too well: “That is the first time I’ve ever heard here say that.”
No, this is not a weird fashion bootcamp. This was me failing at life and at picking a suitable outfit to…

Alcatraz-Themed Bar Now Open…In London
The legendary prison on the San Francisco Bay serves as the inspiration for a new bar. That bar is not in the Bay Area, though. It’s located in London and its called Alcotraz.

ALEX FORMAN Exclusive MSFT Management Client, read his blog post here.
”From the minute I Graduated from East 15, I was a professional actor. It's all about your attitude. Within my first year out Of Drama school, I was working. The first company I worked for was called M&M Theatrical Productions they were a children’s touring theatre company, then I did some Street Theatre work, then went on to do a tour in Italy.
At the beginning of my professional career, I was booking extremely tough jobs with low pay but my attitude was I’d rather be working and building up a body of work on my CV.
In the 5 years, I’ve been a professional actor I’ve done nearly 30 jobs, 20 of which were before I even had an agent. Most of the Jobs I booked was touring theatre or Street Theatre.
My career only started to majorly turn around in the year I met Lennie, my current agent at MSFT Management. I knew from the moment I met Lennie that I’d found the right agent! She just got me and said that she could tell I was a character actor and that I’m able to pull off lots of different looks. After only being with Lennie for a few months I landed R&D Project and a huge major Role of Big Bob in Secret Scared Theatre’s Project Mayhem an immersive theatre show based on the film Fight Club which took place in Hong Kong.
It was a Godsend as I was starting to lose hope after having been with 3 different agents over the past 3 years and having no success.
A bit of backstory:
The time I signed with my first agent coincided with me becoming ill and having issues with my Mental Health.
The 2nd agent didn’t even give me an official contract to sign, they just contacted me one day over Casting Call Pro and said they were interested in me and the only way to ever meet with them was to pay for a workshop, also when they were a discrepancy with a contract as I’d be offered a different job to the one they got me the audition for when it came to talking about percentages they threatened to blacklist me which was completely unprofessional behaviour so I severed all ties with them. (Be careful of dodgy agents. Make sure you sign with an agent listed on the PMA website).
The third agent was a lovely lady who used to be my stage manager at drama school however she was just starting out as an agent and didn’t have enough contacts to get me in the room. As I’d had one advert audition in 6 months.
Since signing with MSFT I have learnt that in this business 50% of how you conduct yourself in castings, Rehearsal rooms and sets is of the most importance. So many actors are good and have presence and can do accents but I’ve learnt what can make you stand out from the rest is how your peers see you as a person and what their opinions are of you.
I didn't really know what an agent can do before I signed with MSFT Management. But working with Lennie over the last year, I have enjoyed the collaborative relationship and how much Lennie wants me to succeed.
In my opinion to succeed in this tough industry you need to have a very personal relationship with your agent, they need to know your strengths and weaknesses and how to push you when they can, and how to help you develop as a performer. Giving you feedback and advice on how to improve so you can grow as an actor and be likeable, adaptable and take direction well. Also as an Actor I feel I’ve grown and taken on Lennie’s Advice, she suggested I write a diary to keep a track of my personal growth so I can write what went well and what didn’t, so I can see how I can make the changes I need to grow positively as an actor.
Some more things I’ve put into action is that I write a personal thank you note after every casting, I research the casting director work. I then write in my diary after every casting, audition, Rehearsal process, and during show runs.
Lennie has helped me to do all those things and more.
Lennie got me in the room with some big Casting Directors: Alice Searby, Jon Levene, Louise Cross, Acorn TV, Hammond Cox Casting, Paul Cornwell, Secret Theatre, Martha Stewart Casting, Trinity Theatre, Heather Basten, Pinewood Studios, and RL Casting to name a few. Lennie also freelances as a Casting Director so was able to get me seen for projects she works on too. I recently booked a job for Sainsbury’s which was a really fun experience.
I love theatre and was really happy to book an immersive theatre job work including an immersive Raver Event for the company HighJam and then opening a 2nd Immersive Cocktail bar for the company Inventive Productions the same people that brought Alcotraz to life.
Then most recently I landed a who huge countrywide Commercial for renowned company NowTV playing a Mexican Dad Wrestler which involved me doing stunts and wire work, a field which I’d not delved into before but would now be more than happy to do again. The Campaign was called: NOW TV Smart Stick – Stop fighting over what to watch”.
youtube
I’m on top of the world at the moment as my heart has been longing to start branching out of the theatre world and start to break into the medium of TV and to have the opportunity to do such a big project for my first TV job is absolutely amazing!I have the Bug for Set life now and the Hunger to want to be back on TV Set really soon!
ADVICE FOR OTHER ACTORS:
My advice to others actors is to keep searching till you find that right agent and trust me you know when you do, everything will just click and fall into place. Of course it won’t be perfect as the road to success in this industry is a long tough journey one in my eyes which will never end so try and enjoy and saviour very moment you can of it!
Personally, the reason why I’d stay with MSFT Management for years to come is that I know I’ll never find someone who cares about me as much as Lennie does or invest as much time and energy into getting me where I want to be.
I’ve grown so much since I signed with Lennie, I’ve learnt to be patient, listen and take on board as much as you can, even when you take a knock back in this career turn it on it’s head an look at it in a positive way and so well I’ve learnt how to not behave in that situation so now I’m going to behave in a different way one which is professional but still conveys your personality and positive energy and makes you likeable so people will want to work with you again in the future.
In this industry, our reputation is so important so just think about how you’d like to be treated and treat others the same.
Thanks for reading my post.”

2021.
So this year started with a lock down for the first 4-5 months of the year, whilst hospitals were over run with covid - no space in A+E, cancelled surgeries and appointments. Waiting for everyone to get their vaccinations!
This year -
* Instead of lots of holidays - we started working on our house! We got our dream bathroom and even now have a fully kitted out cinema room. I feel so lucky to have a house and to be able to make it how we want!
* Watching the cats grow up from baby kittens to big fluffy cats! Cheddar is a big unit and a soppy gentle giant. Brie is a sassy little princess who loves to explore. We weaned them outside on their leads, the letting them free was scary. We kept them in when it was dark, but now they are completely free to go in and out when they like. Which made me very nervous at first, but now I am much more comfortable. Although I do panic when I shake biscuits and Brie isn’t anywhere to be seen for a while. SO NO MORE LITTER TRAY! wooo! Cheddar sits on patio and watches the birds. They have their yearly check up / vaccinations soon, I am a little worried about Cheddars weight (we have started feeding separately - so hoping that helps). Worried he has an illness... but we shall see! Poor Holly has diabetes so being injected x2 daily and Roxy has bad legs so struggles to walk. Sad seeing them like that.
- I worked with Amy my psychotherapist on my mental health and OMG it’s made a huge difference. I am mentally in a very good place and feel much more in control. I have stopped now, but I may need to go back in future if needed. But at the moment I am in control :)
- I am currently very happy and satisfied with my work. I enjoy it and this has made a massive difference to my mental health. Leaving Spire was the best decision, I learnt a lot from Spire, but was not what I enjoyed and a very toxic environment. I currently work 2 days in london at oxford circus physio (self employed) and work 2 days from home at Babylon (employed). This means I get a 3 day weekend every week! Kenny currently works full time from home, unfortunately he doesn’t feel fulfilled by his job, so is currently looking around for other work. He has had a couple of interviews at Netflix and applied for a commissioner role... but we will see! Be interesting to see what he does for work this time next year!
- I was trained up and helped with the vaccinations. I even gave Kenny his second dose! It’s. nice I have been able to help contribute and help get out of this pandemic!
-We celebrated Hayley and Simons wedding! Roshni and Vick got engaged - I will be bridesmaid next year! Hattie and Rodge had their little baby, and Rhona and Dave are expecting next year.
- The biggest thing was we tried for a baby - unfortunately no success this year. But does take time and still have a little bit of hope. Kenny had a sperm test and although it came back as low count and quality (he did ejaculate the day before when it was meant to be 3 days). He has been referred to infertility clinic. I had a blood test - my hormones are normal but iron levels very low, and low iron can affect fertility. So hoping with iron supplements that will help - I have a phonecall thursday to discuss this,
- I turned 30! Had a bit of a midlife crisis during this time, it’s so strange to feel no longer early 20′s / prime time etc. I had a lovely time... fortnum and mason afternoon tea with my family, roast with kennys family, spa break in lake district, alcotraz and bottomless brunch with best mate and go kart racing with friends. Excited for the new chapter of my life.
- Things got difficult when Helen was diagnosed with breast cancer, I didn’t know what to say and felt hard when she looked for support. She is now taking medication but had the surgery and radiotherapy, so is on the mend!
- It was so nice having family and friends come to stay. We managed to have grandma stay the weekend, dad visited, mum and brother stayed as we hosted our first christmas!Loved being able to do this, mia and Jack had a sleepover, Rosh / Emily / Iain have all slept over. Had FAM lot sleep over after football game.
- Holiday wise - me and kenny did “staycations” - isle of wight, lake district and spa break at lifehouse spa. I managed to get abroad for a weekend with iain to malta - was so nice to travel and get some sunshine!
- I managed to lose weight... then gained it all.. then lost half of it! Exercised more.. lowest managed to get to 10 stone 3, hoping to get back down to that again. Exercising helps me mentally and eating better helps too... calorie counting and exercise is key.
Overall - this year has mostly been about getting control of my mental health, sorting my work life situation, hosting friends and having them over, working on the house! Which may sound a bit boring.. but is a great step forward!

Moonshine, 535 King's Road
Martin B reviews Moonshine, 535 King's Road, an immersive BYOB cocktail experience which is light of narrative but strong on spirits and atmosphere
Review by Martin Buggy
Got a hankering for a real darn tootin’ fandango this sunset? Well, this here betterment of Cold Water town, set way back when in 1904, might be good for what ails ya. The caboodle begins before you step foot in the Moonshine Saloon (the latest immersive experience from the team behind Alcotraz, a controversial prison themed cocktail bar).
