your name is IUDEXX GUNDYR and you want to be alternias first CRUSADESECRATOR with a passion for SCENE FASHION.
(it/its and sword neos used)
Iu lives in a large manor over an imposing cliff with sharps DRAGON LUSUS. Iudexx, is partially blinded due to a blast of MAJYKKS from its ROOMMATE-MOIRAIL WIZARD WYZARD. Sword wears those ghastly shades because of light sensitivity from the injury. Blade is nonverbal, and doesnt make an attempt to communicate outside of occasional trollian messages under the handle guardiansGreatsword [GG]. It loves knights, swords, anything related to the prior, and scene fashion. Sharp mostly likes textures when it comes to clothes (particularly favoring smooth/metallic textures and dangly jewelry) which leads to some interesting fashion choices, espec when it gets access to alchemy in game. Steels godtier is the KNIGHT OF VOID.
Sharp keeps to bladeself for the most part but is eager to protect its friends, like any HONORABLE crusadesecrator. Sword gets along well with its fellow troll players, but is slow to get adjusted to the human players. Steel eventually gets to know them though, and even lets the humans fill two of its quadrants.
THE COOL FITS...
CERULEAN SCENE + SECRETIVE SHADES: The basic gear for any wannabe scene king, and glasses perfect for any knight too cool for eye contact (not that it could see you through them, anyways)
CRU-SCENE-DESECRATOR: A personal twist on its underwhelming godtier pajamas, the atrocious pattern combos a guaranteed to scare off any creatures of the night.
KNIGHT OF VOID GABRS + PERFECTLY GENERIC SHADES: Some quaint cotton pajamas paired with some shades that are "nothing to write home about," good for a more casual day in the session. Unfortunately, Iudexx has ever cared for casual.
PROSPITIAN PROTECTOR: As prospitian royalter, Iudexx has taken it upon bladeself to protect the moon. In stylish golden garb no less!
APPARITIONS APPRENTICE: The vibrant colors look rather out of place on usually dark clothed troll, this outfit was alchemixed from his Kismesis' apparitionsArchive's outfit.
MAGICIANS BEST FRIEND: ......
THE BADASS BLADES...
STEEL GREATSWORD: Iudexx's pre-entry weapon, its about what you'd expect for an anime-style outrageously large sword.
DRAGON SLAYER CANE-BLADE: Unfortunately, this 4W3SOM3 blade cant be slipped away in into an inconspicuous guide cane. The epic dragon accent almost makes up for it.
ZOOLOGICALLY DUBIOUS VOID BLADE: A blade imbued with eldritch power beyond the comprehension of even a void player, it cuts through objects with a terrifying evil energy.
PERFECTLY GENERIC GREATSAW: The blade is otherwise bland if not for the perculiar serrations on the blade, it makes it incredibly inefficient to use due to it's ridiculous size.
ROCKET BLADE: A huge blade given an extra boost by built in rockets. Also serves an impromtu rocket board in an emergency.
MOONLIGHT GREATSWORD: "This sword, one of the rare dragon weapons, came from the tail of a pale white dragon who betrayed his own." It also shoots out magic beams. Cool!
GHOST BUSTER BLADE: Huh.... this isn't as cool as you thought it would be.
GREATSWORD OF ZILLYWAK: Pryed from the arms of the last chuckshonen upon his deathbed on willywonk mountain. Its forged from pure quinkleore. This blade is no joke.

its very interesting seeing miguel realise that for the first time in his entire life he doesn't know what to do, lamenting that because his whole life was pretty much set out for him (aka groomed by alchemix) that his responce to becoming spiderman is to wander aimlessly to keep ventures back and fully iscolate himself in a dark apartment. it's like... i almost see where atsv tried to come from with miguel's rigidity in his beliefs and calculated approuch but how they reached the point they did with his character from the first appearence is completely baffling to me

Curve Finance to disburse $49M in compensation to hack victims
The community behind the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Curve Finance has voted to reimburse the liquidity providers (LPs) hit by a $61-million hack in July. On-chain data confirms that 94% of tokenholders approved on Dec. 21 the disbursement of tokens worth over $49.2 million to cover the losses of the Curve (CRV), JPEG’d (JPEG), Alchemix (ALCX) and Metronome (MET) pools. DeFi Sector Appears More Dead than Alive
A team of hackers has unexpectedly returned all the stolen funds from Alchemix to the Curve pool. AlchemixFi confirmed the funds' return, reassuring users that there's no cause for concern.
The hackers claim their actions were an "act of goodwill" and that they decided to return the stolen funds after careful analysis. According to them, such actions contribute to building trust in decentralized financial platforms, where security should be of utmost importance.
Tumblr media
Lado Okhotnikov believes that this incident severely damaged Curve Finance's reputation:
"Most likely, this platform will lose a significant portion of its investors, and it's doubtful they'll attract substantial capital in the future. In the current situation, the project might have to rebrand to salvage some of the invested funds. At least, I wouldn't risk holding assets on this platform as it has compromised itself."
The event garnered widespread attention and sparked numerous debates. Analysts continue to discuss the legality of such actions and their potential consequences for the decentralized financial system.
CoinDesk specialist Daniel Kuhn remarked, "We barely noticed when DeFi died. Recent events have shown that decentralized finance isn't all that different from the traditional financial sector."
This episode highlighted how prepared the crypto community is for such situations and what measures should be taken to protect users and their assets.

Curve Finance Hacker Returns Stolen Funds After Receiving $7 Million Bug Bounty
Tumblr media
After receiving nearly $7 million as a bug bounty reward, the attacker responsible for the Curve finance hack has decided to return the stolen funds. The attack, which occurred on July 30, resulted in the drainage of over $61 million in cryptocurrencies, with Alchemix's alETH-ETH pool losing $13.6 million. The hacker also targeted JPEGd's pETH-ETH pool, causing outflows of $11.4 million, and Metronome's sETH-ETH pool, resulting in a loss of over $1.6 million. The attack exploited vulnerabilities in the Vyper programming language through reentrancy attacks, specifically targeting stable pools on Curve Finance. To recover the stolen funds, Curve, Metronome, and Alchemix initiated a joint effort on August 3, offering a 10% bounty as a reward and urging the hacker to return the remaining 90%. This would bring the total bug bounty

Curve…

Hackers stole around $62 million from Curve Finance on Sunday, causing a ripple effect throughout the crypto sector and raising questions about the strength of the decentralized finance ecosystem. Curve is one of the largest decentralized exchanges (DEX) in the crypto market today, with about $1.67 billion in total value locked (TVL), according to data on DeFi TVL aggregator DeFiLlama. A handful of DeFi projects’ pools were also hacked, including PEGd’s pETH/ETH: $11 million; Metronome’s msETH/ETH: $3.4 million; Alchemix’s alETH/ETH: $22.6 million; and Curve DAO: around $24.7 million, according to Llama Risk’s post-exploit assessment. A bug found in older versions of the Vyper compiler contract programming language caused a failure in a security feature used by a handful of Curve liquidity pools. An admin in Curve Finance’s Telegram group declined to comment further to TechCrunch+ and referred us back to the post-exploit assessment. By crypto standards, this wasn’t considered a “big” hack; Curve is a massive DEX, and this hack makes up about 4% of its TVL. A portion of the exploit was done by white hat hacker user c0ffeebabe.eth, who returned 2,879 ether, roughly $5.4 million, to Curve, according to on chain data. But this exploit isn’t the only problem Curve — and the broader crypto space — is facing. Curve founder Michael Egorov has a $100 million loan backed by 427.5 million of the DEX’s token, CRV. That’s around 47% of the entire circulating supply of CRV, according to Delphi Digital, a research and data platform. The token’s price dropping could spell bad news for the health of Curve, and could create even more volatility in the broader DeFi ecosystem. Egorov borrowed about 63.2 million tether from Aave, against collateral of 305 million CRV which will be liquidated if the CRV/USDT pair drops to 37 cents, Delphi wrote. As it stands, CRV is down 19% to 59 cents from 73 cents before the Sunday attack, according to CoinMarketCap data. Next in store

Connext, Alchemix launch cross-chain token standard
Tumblr media
The Connext cross-chain bridging protocol has announced a new token standard to reduce losses from bridge hacks. According to a July 24 announcement, the new “xERC-20” standard allows token issuers to maintain a list of official bridges and control how many tokens can be minted by each. In addition to Connext, decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Alchemix Finance will implement xERC-20 tokens, the announcement stated. Connext Alchemix Today, Connext is announcing support of the xERC20 standard and onboarding projects into safely bringing their tokens to every chain. As our flagship user, we've been working with @AlchemixFi to bring $alUSD, $alETH, and $ALCX to @arbitrum and @optimismFND. https://t.co/S2tBLpuuqe — Arjun | xERC20 arc (@arjunbhuptani) July 24, 2023 The new token standard was originally put forth on July 7 as Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 7281. It was co-authored by Connext’s founder Arjun Bhuptani. At the time, Bhuptani said it would help to minimize losses from bridge hacks by acting on the principle that “Token issuers are the ones who get rekt when bridges get hacked.” Instead of each bridge issuing its own version of a token on every network, the new standard would allow bridges to mint “official” or “canonical” versions of each token. However, they can only do this with the permission of the token issuer, and this permission would be enforced through smart contracts. Token issuers would also be able to limit the number of coins that a particular bridge could mint, the proposal stated. Under EIP-7281, bridges could still mint their own versions of tokens, but such derivative coins would not be considered “canonical” versions. As a result, consumers would eventually come to reject unofficial versions of coins. In Bhuptani’s view, this would lead to a safer DeFi space because it would put the responsibility for avoiding bridge hacks squarely on the shoulders of each token issuer, which would help to prevent end users from suffering losses. To become an official part of the Ethereum ecosystem, an EIP has to be approved by EIP editors, a process that can take months. The July 24 announcement said the standard will now be implemented in Connext and Alchemix ahead of its official approval, allowing end users to rely on it immediately. Related: Multichain bridge hack was a “big blow” to Fantom ecosystem, says Cronje In the announcement, Connext stated that the token standard will be “forward compatible” with the official version should it eventually be approved by the EIP editors. Bhuptani argued that the new implementation will prevent bridges with bad security or excessive centralization from being taken seriously, stating: “This approach encourages open competition and innovation as token issuers now have the flexibility granularly update their preferences for supported bridges over time. Instead of prioritizing building a monopoly on liquidity, or trying to corner market share by locking-in token issuers (or in some cases entire chains), bridges are now forced to have an ongoing focus on their security and quality of service, lest they be delisted." The issue of bridge security has become a hot topic in the crypto community. These concerns were amplified on July 7, when over $100 million was mysteriously withdrawn from the Multichain bridging protocol. The Multichain team at first only referred to the withdrawals as “abnormal” but later clarified that an unknown individual had accessed the CEO’s cloud storage system to withdraw the funds without users’ consent. DeFi Lender Alchemix Approves ALCX Token Buyback Plan
If all goes to plan, the proposal sees an increase in Alchemix’s CRV and CVX revenue generated by its alAsset trading pools, currently projected around $300,000 a month. This revenue is what will partly fund the new buyback and bribe program. Previously, Alchemix sent half of its “harvest” to its treasury and staked half into Curve and Convex, but now those levels drop to a third. #DeFi #Lender…

Author commentary: John has the right idea by calling them the blue shapey thing and the alchemixer respectively. Because really who even gives a shit what any of this stuff is actually named? I know when I play games, I seriously don't care about all this meticulously designed stuff and assiduous nomenclature they put a ton of thought into. Hackers Against All
Last Sunday, unknown hackers emptied the liquidity pools of Curve, Metronome and Alchemix. The attackers got more than $60 million. Some of the tokens were recovered, but the main amount remained with hackers. While experts are sorting out hacking technology and fixing security holes, all three services have offered to return the stolen assets for 10% reward under confidentiality and claims waiver.
The hacker has a deadline of eight Sunday morning. In case of refusal to take a deal, these funds will be used to reward those who will help to apprehend the hackers.
Tumblr media
Lado Okhotnikov, CEO of Meta Force noted that such an offer is a reasonable move by the affected crypto businesses.
«Of course, hacking is bad. However, services are willing to pay hackers for finding vulnerabilities. Therefore, such bargaining with some accuracy can be called honest. Now much depends on who holds the information. If hackers live in America - Europe, they have good reasons to conclude a settlement. But if they are, for example, in North Korea, then about the return will have to forget...»

Curve Finance Offers 10% Bug Bounty to Attackers Behind Vyper
Tumblr media
Decentralized exchange Curve Finance has collaborated with Metronome and Alchemix to establish a 10% bug bounty reward for the individuals responsible for the recent exploit, which resulted in over $50 million being taken from the pools of these platforms. In an on-chain message found on one of the hackers' Ethereum addresses, the protocols have expressed their willingness to halt any further pursuit of the case if the attackers decide to return 90% of the stolen funds, allowing them to retain 10% as a reward. On July 30, a significant exploit targeted four Curve Finance pools, impacting various decentralized finance protocols such as Metronome, Alchemix, and Ellipsis. The attackers leveraged the Vyper programming language on the Ethereum Virtual Machine to exploit a malfunctioning re-entrancy lock. Though the exact amount
