Dr Floyd's pretty much Alberto's Mother Gothel.

It was shown in Alberto's flashback, he came to Dr Floyd's facility since he was a kid after losing Carlo. Dr Floyd pretty much took him in and manipulated him from youth to supress and fear his monster identity, abandon things that made him happy and brought comfort like drawing and even made him forget a significant part of his life, shaping him into what he desires from him. No wonder Alberto grew up so stressed out about everything. Dr Floyd wasn't just his doctor, he was probably the closest thing to a parental figure after Mount Solange went to sleep...

Imagine if Dr Floyd and Alberto’s connection was introduced sooner, like imagine if Dr Floyd kept tabs with Alberto and his life, continuing their sessions and just checking up on him, being a controlling and domineering parental/mentor figure, always putting Alberto on constant edge trying to live up to his expectations.

Dr. Floyd- I’ve counselled Alberto since he was just a little monster, back when he was all alone in the world, needing guidance and support. He’s like a son to me! I helped raise and mentor him into the well adjusted, stable gentleman he is today!

Tatiana-You screwed up a perfectly good monster! Look at him, he’s got anxiety!

I could see him try to manipulate Alberto to cut ties with Carlo, saying he’s way too old for him and needs to move on, going as far as to guilt trip Carlo for going into the forest and unintentionally leaving Alberto in his care, saying he’s the sole reason for all of Alberto’s troubles and that if he really cares about him, then he’d stay out of his life for good. Perhaps tries to get rid of Carlo and lie to Alberto saying he left him again to keep him under his control.

Dr. Floyd-Listen Alberto! Carlo’s just getting in the way, I’m just trying to help you be the best you, you can be! You need me-

Alberto-ENOUGH! All my life you’ve told me to look into myself and my problems and now I see the biggest problem in my life is YOU! You were never trying to help me or any one else here be their “best selves”, u were trying to make us forget what made us, US! And all the other parts that made us happy… Well NO MORE! I’m Alberto the monster, I’m fierce, I’m ANGRY, a great drawer and DONT YOU FORGET THAT! SALAMBAIA!
